this is an insanely dumb kind of thing to ask but um. Andrea (shaggy tormented girl) gets very upset at her friend’s specific kind of distortion of the truth. the (perceived) retroactive change of intention to absolve herself of being mean. or whatever. yeah um. is that a thing? is that a thing that people get? what is that associated with? cause i rarely get like that but i hate when i do because it will always be perceived as an overreaction (and a lot of the time it will be).
Being upset with someone for essentially being mean and then being dishonest about being mean, if that is what you are asking. It could be a misunderstanding sometimes, or it could be calculated. It's just one of those things I guess. If calculated, it is really upsetting to have someone... basically try to trick you out of confronting them with a problem. I don't think that being sensitive to it is necessarily "associated with" anything in particular because there are a lot of reasons why you could be sensitive. It depends on you.
Everyone on earth struggles with balancing self-respect and grace and honoring their perceptions and also leaving room 4 the ambiguity and complexity of other people's intentions and style of interacting with others. Emotional reactions like getting upset is sort of like... Ur fire alarm goes off. So U know there is a problem, but that indicator can't tell you how to diagnose the problem (burning food on stove? massive conflagration in living room? low battery?) or the process of responding 2 it, you have to use your creative mind to make a plan and your rational mind to evaluate and adjust. If U let the sound of the fire alarm make U crazy then U just end up smashing fire alarm and throwing it outside and then U lose ur security deposit and maybe dying in a fire... So I guess what I'm saying is this is a natural faculty of your mind but if it causes you problems it just requires some creative thought. Conflicts with people are opportunity to deepen the connection with the person and conflicts with ourselves are opportunities to learn self mastery and become more powerful in the world so the obstacle is very much the path. Gewd luck

i don't think not using spotify is an important piece of leftist praxis, to be clear, but i do think it's insane that people pay $11 a month for spotify premium because they think piracy is stealing from artists. like, if you listen to 50,000 minutes of music, that's $37.50 that's being given to the artists you listened to- being split between all the artists you listened to in the entire year. you're giving them 132 dollars so they can give a third of that to the dozens, hundreds, maybe thousands of artists you listened to that year. i don't think the few cents an artist won't get anymore if you unsubscribe really matter that much to the more popular artists, and starting in 2024 the less popular artists won't even get paid anyway. i don't think piracy is that much worse, especially if you send smaller artists a couple dollars on patreon or bandcamp or something. and again, i use spotify sometimes, i pirate it but still, i don't think it's a moral failing or anything. just that it's a little hypocritical when people act like piracy is so much worse. but that's just my two cents (which is what like, seven streams on spotify is worth).

Monsters creeping into my head
Say I don’t deserve this
Grew up so afraid of all these Bedtime stories
Read them like a warning
Forever wasn’t for me
Til I met you

i understand that concerts are more fun when you're not filming it on ur phone the whole time but there is definitely something to be said about at least filming the chorus/favorite part of ur favorite songs bc. lots of people like to claim you'll never look back on your shaky phone camera footage anyways, but i do. nothing makes me smile wider than knowing i personally filmed those performances and nothing makes me laugh harder than hearing my own singing and screaming along

ppl who consider 30s to be old are wild to me bc realistically most people spend up until roughly 24-26 in college and so you’re basically saying you can rly only live your life for about 4-6 years freely before you’re considered “too old” to enjoy anything. wtf are ppl supposed to do for the next 30 years after that jackass ?? you tell me 🤨 are they supposed to just buy curtains and a new blender and be content with that 🤨

I think the lgbt community could benefit from like. Seeing terms as having meanings. But then also just… allowing for blurriness instead of treating them like absolutes. like I think that’d kill shit like “how can you call urself a lesbian if you/your partner isn’t a woman” and “this term has no meaningful definition and only refers to people who call themselves by it”
Like. I was at a gsa meeting and someone from another program at my school was getting help setting up a display of many many pride flags with definitions under them. and like. people were talking in circles on how to define a lesbian. And like. If you try and create a definition that does not exclude anyone who lives as or identifies as a lesbian… you’re going to end up alienating anyone who doesn’t already “get” everything. this happens when people are thinking abstractly in words. Like. One facet of the definition of “Lesbian” is not being attracted to men. However, for example, I feel like most people would be able to understand a woman in front of them calling herself a lesbian even if she has like. A genderfluid or bigender partner. Terms exist to define groupings and patterns but it’s not like the experiences one has with love, attraction, and identity check themselves against a dictionary before happening. Beyond the term queer I think trying to capture all possible experiences one can have while under a label is. literally just not that important. I think the statements “lesbians are gay women, meaning they are women who are attracted to other women exclusively” and “that hypothetical lesbian who’s partner can be called a man is a lesbian” are both true. Definitions can just be approximated yknow? It’s like rounding down numbers. pi might not equal 3.14 but that’s the number you’ll use if you need to calculate area. the simpler definitions of lgbt are what you’ll want to use when explaining stuff to people who are unfamiliar. the fact that pi ≠ 3.14 and that definitions aren’t all encompassing are just. Important caveats to mention
