Mini Review: A Soul to Keep
Rating: 4/5 Stars
This book is loosely inspired by The Ancient Magus' Bride and Demonslayer, which is why I picked it up! It was a slow burn, which I didn't like, but the story was really good. It had fast-paced moments surrounded by long periods of Studio Ghibli slice-of-life stuff (plus smut). This is definitely one of the better monster smut books out there-- It is evident that a great deal of thought and time went into this book. I think it could have been about 100 pages shorter, but other readers will enjoy the systematic approach to relationship-building. Overall, A Soul to Keep is a very worthy read. And no hate is intended toward The Ancient Magus' Bride because I did like it, but Orpheus is way cooler. =)

Becca the way I ran over here is insane I have to share this with you. Dbf ceo Bucky tying his tie around your throat pulling it back as he rails into from behind on his desk while he calls you his favorite cock warmer.
Wtf that’s so hot 🙃 like a really frantic, filthy, desperate quickie over his desk because you just couldn’t help yourselves and he needs a little relief
Maybe he’s had a long day and it's really taken it out of him. Some days just don't go smoothly for him and you know to expect that but the second you see his face, you know it's been a rough one.
He looks tired. His frown lines seem a little deeper set than usual and his jaw is clenched but apart from that, it'd be hard to tell he's had a long day because he hides it well.
"Everything okay?" You keep your voice soft, encouraging him to relax and you notice his shoulders drop ever so slightly.
"Bad day." He confirms but it's impossible to miss how he seems to focus on the hem of your dress. Your dress stops just above your knees, leaving your legs exposed for him to appreciate and he doesn't say much more before doing exactly that.
As soon as you're settled on his desk, his hands are drifting up that bare skin, starting at your ankles, roaming confidently up the back of your bare legs. You know he needs this. He needs an outlet for all that frustration and a warmth settles in your stomach because even when he wants to be rough with you, he's still awfully considerate.
He kisses the insides of your knees, trailing the tip of his tongue gently up the inside of one of your thighs until he's able to place a chaste kiss to your clothed sex. He gasps softly, marvelling at how slick the thin lace is under his lips, knowing he's hardly even touched you and you're already desperate for him.
"Bend over the desk." He orders and while you follow his instructions, he unbuckles his belt and unzips his trousers before freeing his cock. "You're so fuckin' wet." He grunts, rubbing his stiffening length against the drenched fabric of your panties, giving himself a moment to admire your ass.
"You." He begins, loosening his tie before tugging it off, keeping the knot intact. "Are just a hole for me to fuck for the next hour. You got that?"
"Y-yes." You whimper, pressing yourself back on his cock, shame burning in your cheeks when he laughs at how pathetic you are.
"You're a fucking cocksleeve." Oh God, he needs this. Everything in him is screaming at him to bury his dick inside you and he can't ignore his need any longer. "I don't care if you get off on this. I don't give a shit if you cum." You know that's not true but believing this is just a rough, frantic fuck for his pleasure makes it even hotter somehow.
"Use me." You whine, gripping the edge of the desk. He pulls your soaked panties to the side, slipping the loop of the tie over your head, keeping a nice tension in the length of it as he slides slowly into you.
"Christ, you're tight." He grunts, tugging on the tie so the pressure on your neck makes you yelp. The first glide of his length into your body is always pure bliss for you but it's that little bit better when you pretend that he doesn't care.
"Stupid. Little. Cockslut." He offers sharp, shallow thrusts with each word and there's no stopping the way your eyes roll back. His tip nudges the soft, velvety spot inside you with each thrust and you know if he keeps that up, you're going to cum, whether he cares or not.

✩🔭📔Review:
A delightfully funny and steamy regency romance!
“The Duchess Deal” set the bar high and unfortunately, as much as I wanted to love this one, “The Governess Game” didn’t quite measure up to it. I really liked Alex as a character. She is intelligent, ambitious, passionate, and does not put up with any nonsense. Her relationship with Rosamund and Daisy was incredibly endearing and their dynamic was so fun. I love how she worked hard to win them over with the goal of making sure they felt wanted and loved when they initially felt otherwise under Chase’s care.
What fell flat for me was Alex and Chase’s romantic relationship. While their banter was hilarious, I wasn’t sold on their chemistry. This may be in part due to Chase’s character. He is introduced as an rogue-ish rake that cannot love, but that changes on a dime the moment he meets Alex. If he gradually became charming, sweet, and caring over time, I think I would have been more invested and more willing to put up with the push/pull of their relationship.
This book may not be my favorite in the series, but it was still an entertaining read!

This is such a cool read! I have never read a book by this author before, and I'm so happy that I got this chance to experience Gibson's writing.
So the story is amazing, and the writing is perfection. Laura, a "good girl" type who may harbor some carnal desires, starts college and immediately falls for senior Carmilla. Carmilla is in the same poetry seminar Laura is in. And, when she sees her beloved teacher pay attention to Laura (a new girl and a freshman at that!), immediate jealousy sparks, and this turns into just the best enemies-to-lovers read.
By the way, this book takes place in the 60s, and the author really made me feel that vibe through their writing and descriptions. I'm talking about word choice, things I imagine people would say at that time period.
The atmosphere was haunting and a perfect setup for this sapphic romance to bloom in the shadows and for Laura to learn the secret between Carmilla and their teacher.
I really enjoyed this and definitely recommend it!
Out February 13, 2024!
Thank you, Netgalley and Publisher, for this Arc!

I haven’t read a book in a while, and instead of grabbing one from my massive TBR pile, I went to the bookstore and bought another one instead. I really wanted something different.
The overall story was interesting and kept my attention. The light romance aspects were great. She has a gruff exterior, but it’s just a facade she uses to fit in, and he hates her for it but also wants to be her protector because he only wants to see her happy. Then it gets spicy. Like so spicy, I blushed.😳 I don’t blush. It was definitely the language they used to describe what was going on. I can’t imagine talking like that to anyone when I was 18.
I’d definitely check out another one off by this author (she tends to write series) and recommend this book if you’re looking for a good time.

Hey Bioshock fans!

WELL DO I HAVE THE BOOK FOR YOU
Introducing "This Gilded Abyss" by Rebecca Thorne! It's got an underwater city! Submersibles! Art Deco art styles! Hurt/comfort! Enemies(exes) to lovers! Badass Lesbians! Horrific murder scenes and epic fighting sequences! Underwater disasters! And much much more!
I bought the book two days ago and finished it this morning. And I cannot recommend it enough. The characters are clever, witty, and bad ass. Not to mention there's a little bit of spice✨🔥🥵 for those of you looking for something a bit naughty 😉.
I honestly can't wait for the next installment in -what I understand is going to be a trilogy- the series and am now reading another one of Rebecca's books "Can't spell treason without tea" which so far I also thoroughly enjoy.

Shout into the void
I'm currently reading Penelope Douglas's Devil's Night series and I need to know if anyone is enjoying it as much as I am.
I'm currently on book 3 (Damon's book). I love how unredeemable he is and trying to figure out how Ms. Douglas is going to make me fall in love with him. She has a real knack for making me love characters I thought I would hate.
If anyone sees this post please let me know I'm not the only one out here kicking her feet while reading these books. My current ranking is Kai > Michael > Will (haven't even read his book yet but I have a soft spot for him) > Damon. I have a feeling this is going to change after book 3....

• Series Review: Dark Olympus •
First of all: you need to know that I am *obsessed* with these books.
Second of all: Yes, I know the fourth one is out, and no, I have not read it yet, BUT I WILL SOON, and I decided I still wanted to go ahead and scream about the first three rather than wait.
SO! Here I am. Screaming because THESE BOOKS ARE SO GOOD.
In this series of interconnected standalones, Katee Robert oh-so cleverly reimagines the Pantheon as political positions for rulers of a city. Some positions are monarachical, some are elected, and one is determined by competition (yes, that one is Ares). It’s smart and cool and JUST SO GOOD.
And also? These books are so sexy in such different ways, and the vibes are all so different – Neon Gods is all delicious tension, Electric Idol is somehow both really dark and sweet, and Wicked Beauty is glorious, glorious angst – but pretty much everyone is morally grey and working political strategies and just…I love these books, y’all.
Please go read them immediately, and then message me so we can scream together.
Neon Gods: 4.75🌟| 3🌶️
Electric Idol: 4.25🌟 | 2.75🌶️
Wicked Beauty: 4.5🌟 | 3🌶️

Spicy book review. Possible spoilers ahead. Mature 18+ rating! This is, I believe a Dark Romance, it can be read as a series or if you buy the Paperback it's one long book.

I love the premise of this book and the idea but I'm not gonna lie, the writing has been really difficult for me to get into. The novels or individual books in this book make it easier to get through with the milestones and I really like the characters so far, but that doesn't fix the writing. For now I'm giving it a 8/10. The end of this first one did get me so I'm excited to continue the story!

I'm still having moments where I have to push through because I'm just not a fan of the writing at all but eventually the book did pick up again and I finished the second one today I'll give this one an 8.5/10. My vision of Logan keeps on changing but right now I'm seeing the guy from Suits.
Tumblr media
Okay it's definitely getting way more intense with the plot there are still a lot of writing things that I have to overlook in order to enjoy the book but I really like the premise and the building tension and am looking forward to what is to come.
Tumblr media
I feel like the writing has gotten a little bit better and the story just keeps developing more and more and I am really happy with how it's going except for that last little chapter has really gotten my brain in a funk. I also feel like this series would be an AMAZING TV show.
These can currently be read on Kindle Unlimited!

Book review: haunting Adeline by H.D Carlton:
Rating 4.5/5
I really actually loved this book! I do wish Addie would have accepted her love for zade a little faster but on the other hand I do understand why she struggled with the thought of it. He did start off this cat and mouse game by stalking her🤔.
I feel like this book had a good amount of spice and was very detailed
Favorite scene: Addie admitting she was falling for zade
Favorite spice scene: house of mirrors and car scenes
Favorite character : Zade and Jay!
Least favorite: mark
Definitely should read If you like dark romance

✩🔥🐉Review:
Though I favor “Fourth Wing”, this much anticipated sequel is fairly entertaining!
Following the events of its predecessor, “Iron Flame” revolves around Violet Sorrengail as she navigates her second year at Basgiath War College. But this time it’s different. Her determination to survive won’t be enough, not when the age-old secret she has been keeping threatens to destroy the world she thought she knew.
Like the rest of the bookish community, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this book. The cliffhanger at the end of “Fourth Wing” had me chomping at the bit as I eagerly awaited the action I so desperately craved. Admittedly, I got bogged down in the first half with the influx of new information in the way of new characters and a deep dive into the history of Basgiath. The second half, however, was like a completely different book and Yarros delivered! I became completely engrossed in the war Violet was thrust into and the role she played in turning the tide.
I could not say the same about Violet and Xaden’s relationship. I lost interest in the couple I grew to love in book one when their romantic development regressed. Their constant back and forth stemming from the same argument became a bit repetitive and the “other woman” drama left a sour taste in my mouth. I understand that it is hard to hold reader interest once the main couple in a book have solidified their relationship, but I yearned for a moment where things weren’t tumultuous.
While the ending was somewhat predictable, I was still left reeling! Its safe to say that I will definitely be reading the next one when it comes out.

⭐⭐⭐⭐ 🪶🐍🩸👩🏻‍❤️‍💋‍👩🏼
I read this book in one setting. It was hard to put down, and I wanted to see where everything went, what would happen, would Nirrim and Sid get together, what were the secrets the world was hiding and omg it did not disappoint.
I loved the way the two met, and the banter between them that followed. I loved how Nirrim realised that she was in fact in love with a woman and how she went about it. I loved the scene with Lillian. I know this was a YA book, but I guess the only disappointment for me was the fade to black scenes.
I really liked the plot, the world, the twists and turns. It was a great book and I can't wait to read book two.
