is capsaicin a no-go for clan cat diets (esp clans that cook) or should their stomachs be strong enough to tolerate small amounts of it? it's hard to find sources on just HOW toxic it is
Yeah, it's a no-go. I've done a lot of checking into what cats can taste and what they can't, and the most reliable sources I've boiled down answer that it's unlikely because they have no need for it, or we can't really know for sure. It's not like we can just go and ask the cat, and it would be unethical to try to come up with methods to see if they could recognize a flavor.
(For BB I rule they can actually taste it that tiny bit, because I like to write about food anyway so I write as if their 400 taste buds are working overtime lmao. Plus, Clan cats have Sweetness Tolerance bouncing around the population, especially concentrated in ThunderClan.)
But we DO know that they can feel it, so they probably get none of the good taste and ALL of the stinging, burning pain. I'd avoid it completely unless you want to play around with your Clan experiencing it as a quirk of Sweetness Tolerance.
It's not a POISON, per say, just very likely to cause an upset stomach in a real cat. Not toxic, just irritating and painful.
(unless you're defining an onion or garlic as "spicy" in which case HALT. ALL alliums are DEADLY TOXIC to cats. No garlic! No onions! No cloves! No shallots! NONE!)
To give BB!Cats something with a kick I use Common Juniper, also called Poor Man's Pepper. I rule that because they're extra sensitive to the sensation it's about as spicy as a chili pepper. It's really popular in ShadowClan dishes. In general they're a big fan of strange flavors-- they also use pellitory and also aren't nearly as repelled by vinegar.
Same way ThunderClan has Sweetness Tolerance highly concentrated in its Clan so it has a history of using honey and jam, ShadowClan's got a thing for fermentation and has a culture that acclimates them to bitter flavors.

6. Yes I do. Or well, I did. My smart watch kicked the bucket, so I’m working on seeing if I can bring it back to life as a side project thing. But I’m kinda debating on getting a different watch this time. Something big and sleek and looks like a fancy, techy kinda watch, ya know?
26. Dude. I love spicy foods. I’ve got a really good tolerance, but I want heat that adds flavor, not heat that’s just there to make you cry. But yeah, love me some spicy foods. 😋

3 for Bugs and Daffy?
'An Obscure Headcanon' - ok.
Bugs - He needs to be around other. If left on his own - as in, in a room on his own with no TV, no books no nothing - he will quickly go mad. It doesn't even have to be for long, even for a few minutes and he starts panicking. He can't remember why, but the theory is that enemy soldiers during the war locked him in a room and left him there until he managed to break himself out.
Daffy - a slightly lighter one for Daffy, because I've covered a lot about the war's effect on his already.
He likes trying new food, there is basically no food he won't touch. He actually prefers really spicy food and can tolerate it well. Unlike most toons he can do this without turning red - although he sometimes does for comic effect.
He enjoys going to restaurants that feature different cultures and is forever badgering the other toons to try different foods. The toon he has the most success with is Porky, who has ended up with a new respect for Japanese dishes since Daffy dragged him to a new Japanese restaurant.

Never in all 35 (almost 36) years of my life have I regretted eating something. Had lunch at Dave's Hot Chicken, I got the Reaper level spice and signed the waiver. Took a few bites slowly because I'm used to eating uber spicy foods and new ones you approach with caution. It was delicious. My taste buds were fine. My stomach was like a dying beast. That was horrific. I'm wondering if my gastric bypass surgery is part of the reason that was so bad. I just spent 30 minutes lying on the floor in their restroom, trying not to die. I couldn't even throw up to feel better, also wondering if that's from the surgery.

PSA: tomatoes are not spicy. Tomatoes and tomato products should not be spicy. Pizza sauce isn't inherently spicy. Tomato-based pasta sauce is not spicy. Ketchup is NOT spicy.
If tomatoes are spicy, you have an allergy to tomatoes.
This announcement brought to you by my almost 29-year-old husband learning for the first time in his 2.8 decades of putting food products into his mouth that spaghetti and saucy pizza aren't spicy foods

Relieve burning eyes and excessive liver heat caused by modern lifestyle with wild chrysanthemum
Tumblr media
Modern lifestyle is often irregular, with spicy foods, rich nightlife, and staying up late. As a result, many people wake up with burning eyes the next day. This is not just due to lack of sleep, but also because of excessive liver heat, which can cause eye damage.
Staring at electronic devices such as phones and computers for long hours every day can also lead to dry and uncomfortable eyes, which are also related to liver heat.
Although there are many remedies for excessive liver heat, such as Niuhuang Jiedu tablets, these medications only provide temporary relief and can have side effects. Food is better than medicine, but a good night's sleep is even better.
Chrysanthemum is a good food ingredient, and wild chrysanthemum is one of the best. However, it has a strong cold nature and is not recommended for people with weak stomachs or women during menstruation. Wild chrysanthemum is excellent at relieving liver heat.
Tumblr media
I have tried many types of chrysanthemum, including wild chrysanthemum. It has a fragrant aroma, a rich flavor, and is very durable. Just five or six petals in a cup can last a whole day. As someone who often stays up late, I used to wake up with burning eyes every morning. However, after drinking wild chrysanthemum for only three days, I began to feel its excellent effect in relieving liver heat.
Although wild chrysanthemum is very durable, it is not recommended for people with weak stomachs or women during menstruation. Although Niuhuang Jiedu tablets can also solve the problem of burning eyes, they should not be used for an extended period of time because of their potential side effects. Therefore, I no longer rely on medication to relieve liver heat, but choose to use the principle of "food as medicine" to solve the problem.

5 Spicy Food Recipes That Brings The Heat: Benefits Of Eating Spicy Foods
If you are an adventurous eater who loves spices, I am sure your opinion has struck multiple conversations with other non-spice eaters. You might also have heard several people stating statement after statement how spicy food is bad for you and your health.
So, if you are one of those spicy eaters, what preference do you prefer? The mild salsa, the medium, or the three-alarm hot version? And if you are tired of listening to how ineffective those spices are for your health, how about the turns of the tables? What if I say about their health benefits?
Unlike other people’s statements, spices hold health benefits in more than one form, and you are backed up by science. Here, the herbs are not only chili but also others, such as cinnamon, turmeric, garlic, ginger, and cumin.
Five Spicy Food Recipes To Try
Before we move on to the health benefits of spicy food, below are some recipes to try.
Buffalo Chicken Wings
Ingredients Needed: chicken wings, vegetable oil, garlic powder, salt, ground black pepper, hot sauce, honey, and butter.
Marinate and season the chicken wings with oil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Preheat oven to 400° and toss the marinated chicken wings in it.
Bake until chicken is golden and skin is crispy as you flip them halfway through.
In a small saucepan, whisk together hot sauce and honey. Cook them for about two minutes until the butter is melted and slightly reduced.
Add the chicken wings to the bowl with buffalo sauce until completely coated.
Gorkhali Lamb Curry
Ingredients Needed: lamb chops, red peppers, bay leaves, minced garlic, chopped onions, tomatoes, black pepper, cumin, turmeric powder, mustard oil, lemon juice, soy sauce, and salt to taste.
Takes roasted chopped tomatoes, red bell pepper, cumin seeds, lemon juice, mustard oil, and soy sauce into a blender and makes a smooth paste.
Now, take the lamb chops and pour the paste all over them. Mix it well, then cover it and leave it for at least six hours.
Then, grill the marinated lamb chops on a charcoal grill and cook it well on every side. Chop them into small cubes.
After that, heat two tablespoons of mustard oil in a saucepan. Fry fenugreek and bay leaves, and dry whole red peppers till they turn dark. Then add sauteed onions and turmeric powder.
Then add garlic, ginger, red chilies, cumin, coriander, black pepper, and salt.
Again, add tomato-onion mixture and simmer for 10 minutes until it turns thick. Now, add the lamb chops and garnish them.
Choila
Ingredients Needed: boneless and skinless chicken thighs, soybean oil, chopped garlic, salt to taste, black pepper, cumin, diced leeks, ginger, paprika, turmeric, fenugreek seeds, chili powder, and mustard oil.
Mix the chicken, soybean oil, garlic, cumin, salt to taste, and pepper in a bowl. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.
Grill the meat on both sides until cooked through. Then, cut it into one-inch cubes.
Mix the chicken, leeks, ginger, paprika, chili powder, and garlic in a bowl.
Heat a saucepan with soybean oil, and then add fenugreek seeds.
Add turmeric as soon as the fenugreek seeds turn dark, and immediately pour the hot oil over the bowl of chicken. Hence, your chhoila is ready.
Laphing
Ingredients Required: Maida (All Purpose Flour), salt, garlic, baking powder, turmeric powder, cooking oil, red chili pepper, Sichuan pepper, soy sauce, and vinegar.
First, make the dough using maida and baking powder. Let it rest for a minimum of 20-30 minutes.
After that, add enough water in a container to cover the dough to separate starch and gluten from it.
