MUSIC MEN !!

May include rambling cuz my love for spiders kinda slipped its way into these designs lol

DJ Music Man

VERY vaguely based on a Goliath Bird Eater, since they’re the biggest spider. I thought it’d fit this big guy.

Fun fact: if you google “Goliath Bird Eater face” one of the first results is actually the face of a wolf spider.

…I’ve spent a lot of time looking at spider faces. I can recognize a lot of them based on head shape and eye placement now.

Mini Music Men ! (and their ruined forms)

They’re all based on different spiders, which will be explained under the cut, as well as close ups cuz I don’t want this post to be super annoying to scroll past

Hip Hop (Jumping Spider)

Hip Hop is the only one with a name so far, and he’s based on a jumping spider! I had a good idea of what spiders I knew I wanted to include when starting these designs, and you best believe jumping spiders were on that list. They’re just very recognizable, and their eye placements are just very unique. That’s something I tried to accomplish with these designs too; chose spiders with unique eye placements from one another. Since it gives more variety to each music man.

He was actually the first one I designed and was part of the original 4 I designed way back in July of last year, the other three being Wolf Spider, Trapdoor, and Daddy Long Legs.

Also, making him the rabbit ruined music man was completely coincidental, I wasn’t even thinking about how perfect that was until after I had already finished all the designs. I’m just glad I happened to choose that cuz man it lines up so well. Cuz. Cuz jumping spider. And rabbits are known to jump-

Wolf Spider

I don’t have a too awful lot to say on this guy. Sweet old man. When I saw the eye placements for wolf spiders, I was having a hard time trying to figure out how to incorporate it in a way that was appealing. And then it hit me: put the lower four on a mustache. And then he just became an old man after that.

Trapdoor Spider

This guy’s based on a trapdoor spider— SPECIFICALLY a cork lid trapdoor spider. This is mainly cuz normal trapdoors don’t really stand out too much appearance wise. They look like a stereotypical venomous spider I think. But then! I remembered the cork lid trapdoor spider, and that one definitely stands out. The main thing that makes it stand out so much is that, compared to the average spider, it’s missing like, half its abdomen, the back end of which has a very interesting pattern.

I don’t know if it’s communicated well from this angle, but he’s missing half his abdomen, but in a way where it’s clear he was built that way, given the placement of his wind. I also included designs on his wind to kind of represent the designs real cork lids have on their abdomens.

Daddy Long Legs

Yes, I know daddy long legs aren't actually a spider, but it felt wrong not to include one, so I did it anyways.

This fella actually has a tiny bit of lore. Basically, he's an early prototype model of the mini music men, hence why he appears out of date compared to the others. And run down too; his age means more time for wear and tear to have occurred, hence his missing abdomen (which was really just a design choice I made in order to reference how daddy long legs don't have as many body segments as actual spiders).

Brown Recluse

Now we're onto the spiders that weren't in the original batch. Brown Recluse, as well as the other two after this, were actually concepts I made not too long after the first time I drew the original 4, however they never went far beyond just concepts. Until recently.

There's not much I can say about their design. It's not shown here but they actually play the violin, since one of the recognizable features of a brown recluse is the violin shape present on their back. So I guess that's that their limb shapes come from; they vaguely resemble the shape of violin bows. Kind of. Idk don't look too deep into it.

Black Widow

This one I kinda just threw stuff at a wall until something stuck. I still really like how she turned out tho. I tried making her wind pointier to kind of resemble the hourglass shape on their abdomen that black widows are so infamous for. I don't know if that's clear or not though.

Black Widow and Brown Recluse is where I sorta broke my main rule when picking spiders, which was, as stated earlier, to pick ones with unique eye placements. Black widows and brown recluses have very similar, if not identical eye placements. But I decided to overlook it cuz I wanted to include both of them.

Yellow Orb Weaver

When I was initially designing this one, I don't think I had a specific orb weaver in mind. Because back then, I had no idea how diverse orb weavers actually are. So after some consideration, and looking at the design I had already made, I decided that he's based on a yellow orb weaver. Mainly just cuz I wanted more variety in the hues I was using for these guys' colors.

I don't have much else to say on this dude. I just made him super lanky cuz the shapes were interesting.

AU Idea: X-Spiders

Have you ever wondered what if would be like if other Marvel characters had spider powers?

No? Well too bad!

I stumbled upon this incredible artwork done by the incredibly talented Marcus the Visual, which as you can see, depicts several of the X-Men with spider powers, but done in a way that combines that with their already existing powers.

And after seeing this, this gave me the idea of make an entire AU around this concept.

And I figured now would be the best time to do so since this month not only marks the 60th anniversary of the X-Men, but also because there's been notable rise in Spider-Man AU concepts and Spidersona AUs thanks to the recent release of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.

So without further ado, let's jump in!

-Immediately, when fleshing out this concept, the hardest part of it was trying to figure out how the X-Men would get their powers. When it comes to power origins, Spider-Man and the X-Men are about as different as you can get. Spidey got his powers from a radioactive spider bite, whereas the X-Men (along with the entire mutant race as a whole) are born with their powers. So after some long thinking, I decided on this. In the universe of the X-Spiders, mutants sadly don't exist. But you're probably wondering, how would characters like Nightcrawler have their iconic looks? Well I decided to have this AU set in the distant future, at least several centuries from now. During that time, it would make sense that there would some physical changes to occur to the human race. I could imagine that would some type of genetic oddity developed during those centuries, causing some humans to appear….well, non-human. As for how the X-Men got their powers, first we got to discuss their standing in this world. X-Men initially ran a foster home for orphaned and abandoned children founded by Charles Xavier and Wolverine (who are longtime friends in this universe), particularly for those who were born with the genetic oddity. As for the powers. Well sometime ago, Oscorp created a species of genetically-modified spiders, with each one having their own unique abilities. But an accident caused to the spiders to get loose. And overtime, each of the X-Men would find themselves getting bitten by one of these spiders. Like how any normal person would react, the X-Men freaked out about their newfound powers and decided to hide them. But overtime, they found themselves in situations where they inadvertently used their powers, and as a result, helped someone in need. Because of this, the X-Men became superheroes and decided to use their newfound powers to help the people around them. Yeah…..their origin isn’t as shrouded in tragedy as Spidey’s.

-As for the X-Spiders themselves, the group consists of Cyclops, Wolverine, Storm, Gambit, Jubilee, Nightcrawler, Jean Grey, Beast, Rogue, Colossus, Iceman, Psylocke and Shadowcat. They all have the standard spider powers: superhuman physicality, the ability to stick to and scale any surface, Spider Sense, and the ability to shoot organic webbing from their wrists. What's unique about each X-Spider, apart from the fact they each have their own special powers, is that with some of them, their webbing is made up of different properties, to correspond with their powers.

-Cyclops (Scott Summers, 26, 6'2, 192 lbs, Scott Porter): As you would expect from him, he's the leader of the team. He was the very first kid taken in by Charles and Wolverine at age 8, alongside his younger brother Alex, after their parents died in a plane crash. Personality-wise, he's more like his iteration from X-Men Evolution, being far more outgoing and confident than most of his other iterations, while still being a disciplined and hardworking leader. His special power allows him to shoot ruby-colored beams of concussive force from his eyes. He can also combine the energy of his beams with his webbings, for an extra crunch. He's currently in relationship with Jean and when he's not doing hero-work, works as a DJ for a local radio station.

-Wolverine (James "Logan" Howlett, Unknown, 5'4, 305 lbs, Steve Blum): The co-founder of the foster home and a longtime friend of Charles. Just like Cyclops, he's pretty similar to his X-Men Evolution iteration, being more laid back and a mentor to the kids. Out of all the X-Spiders, he has the best endurance and senses. His special power allows him to eject retractable bone claws from his knuckles. The bite also caused his entire skeleton to become coated in metal. He can also shoot metal webbing, which is very hard to cut through. When he's not doing hero-work, he works as a police officer.

-Storm (Ororo Munroe, 26, 5'11, 127 lbs, Danielle Nicolet): Found as an orphan on the streets of Kenya, she was taken in by Charles at age 10. Personality-wise, she's what you would expect from any version of Storm. Her special power allows her to generate bio-electricity from her body. She can also glide, shoot electrical webbing and even control her hair (which is BIG as HELL and in form of dreadlocks in this universe) as if they were spider legs. She's currently in a relationship with physician Donald Blake and when she's not doing hero-work, works as a meteorologist for the local news.

-Gambit (Remy LeBeau, 24, 6'3, 193 lbs, Troy Baker): Found as a thieving orphan on the streets of New Orleans, he was taken in by Charles at 13. Personality-wise, he's what you would expect from any version of Gambit. Out of all the X-Spiders, he's the fastest. His special power allows him to generate kinetic energy from his body and use it charge anything he touches. He can also shoot kinetic energy webbing. He's currently in a relationship with Rogue and when's not doing hero-work, he's working as a cook for a local Cajun restaurant.

-Jubilee (Jubilation Lee, 13, 5'0, 90 lbs, Haley Tju): Found living as thieving orphan in a Beverly Hills mall, she's the most recent addition to the family, having been taken by them just last year. Personality-wise, she's what you would expect from any version I of Jubilee. Her special powers allows her to shoot burst of energy that resemble fireworks. She's also able to shoot multicolored energy-charged webbing. When she's not doing hero-work, she's attending the local junior high school.

-Nightcrawler (Kurt Wagner, 25, 5'9, 161 lbs, Liam O'Brien): Found as a homeless orphan in Germany, constantly on the run due to his demonic appearance, he was taken in by Xavier at age 9. Personality-wise, he's what you would expect from any version of Nightcrawler. And yes, he's still deeply religious. Out of all the X-Spiders, he's the most agile and flexible. His special power allows him to teleport. He can also become nearly invisible in shadows. He's currently in a relationship with fellow housemate Wren Worthington (a female) and when he's not doing hero-work, he works as a delivery boy for GrubHub.

-Jean Grey (26, 5'9, 122 lbs, Jennifer Hale): After her parents died in a car crash at age 9, she was taken into the foster home. Personality-wise, what you would expect from any version of Jean. Her special powers is telepathy and psionic energy manipulation. She can also glide like Storm and shoot psionic-energy webbing. She's currently in a relationship with Cyclops and when she's not doing hero-work, she works as a surgeon for the local hospital.

-Beast (Henry McCoy, 28, 6'6, 410 lbs, Fred Tatasciore): Abandoned at birth by parents due to his animalistic appearance and forced to live in the wild, he was found at age 11 and taken in by Charles. Personality-wise, what would you expect from any version of Beast. Just like Nightcrawler, he's the most agile and flexible of the X-Spiders, as well as the third strongest. His special power is a venomous bite that can paralyze his foes. He's currently in a relationship with S.W.O.R.D. agent Abigail Brand and when he's not doing hero-work, he works as a professor for the local university.

-Rogue (Marian Carlyle, 23, 5'9, 133 lbs, Melissa Disney): Having spent most of her life going from foster family to foster family, she eventually found herself at the X foster home around age 10. Personality-wise, what you would expect from the best versions of Rogue. Out of all the X-Spiders, she's the second strongest. Her special powers allows her to copy the powers and abilities of those around her. She can also climb like Storm and Jean. She's currently in a relationship with Gambit and when she's not doing hero-work, she's working on the local farms.

-Colossus (Piotr Rasputin, 22, 6'11/7'6, 265 lbs/505 lbs, Chris Cox): After his parents died due to illness, he, his older brother Mikhail, and his newborn sister Illyana, would find themselves out on the streets. They would eventually be found by Charles when Colossus was about 6. Personality-wise, what you would expect from any version of Colossus. Out of all the X-Spiders, he's the strongest. His special power allows him to convert his skin into organic steel, granting him even greater strength and durability. He can also shoot metallic webbing, similar to Wolverine. He's currently in a relationship with fellow housemate Emma Frost and when he's not doing hero-work, he's attending Empire State University, majoring in the arts.

-Iceman (Bobby Drake, 21, 5'8, 145 lbs, Robbie Daymond): After his parents died in a skiing accident at the age of 9, he and his younger brother Ronnie found themselves in the care of Xavier. Personality-wise, what you would expect from Iceman. His special power allowing himself to convert the moisture in the air into ice. He also has a strong resistance to freezing temperatures, can cover his entire body in ice, and shoots icy webbing. He's currently in a relationship with Johnny Storm and when he's not doing hero-work, he attends Empire State University, majoring in accounting.

-Psylocke (Betsy Braddock, 25, 5'11, 155 lbs, Grey Griffin): A Japanese girl who initially grew up in an abusive orphanage in England, Betsy ran away at age 14 and found her way to the states. There, she would be taken in by Charles. Personality-wise, she's a adventurous thrill-seeker with a witty attitude. Her special powers are telepathy and being able to create constructs out of psionic energy. She's also shoots psionic energy webbing just like Jean. When she's not doing hero-work, she's working as a martial arts instructor.

-Shadowcat (Kitty Pryde, 19, 5'7, 114 lbs, Danielle Judovits): After her parents were killed during a mugging at age 9, she found herself on the streets, with her only companion being her pet iguana Lockheed. She would eventually be found by Wolverine and brought into the home. Personality-wise, what you would expect from any version of Shadowcat. Her special power allows her to phase through most soldier objects. She's currently in a relationship with Doreen Green and when she's not doing hero-work, she attends training in order to become a firefighter.

(This drabble made me think about Insomniac Peter’s cameo in ATSV—do you think in the Arachne au he would’ve taken the watch to see if there was a chance he could’ve found Arachne??)

Oh, he absolutely did! So let's do a flashback! Back to the day that Arachne vanishes.

"Ooh, hey Pete!" MJ calls from the living room, "It looks like Fisk is causing problems. Again," Peter can hear her rolling her eyes from the kitchen. "Oh yeah?" He steps into the living room and leans over the back of the couch, "Ah, good ol' Willy. Always good for a workout." Peter says as he watches Arachne flip onto the scene. "And there she is!" "She's gotten good," MJ agrees, a fond smile on her face, "And did you try those cookies she made last weekend? Remind me to get the recipe from her-" The couple watch as Arachne fights Fisk for a few minutes, "She's very good, I don't think a single attack has gotten passed her to the people watching the fight." Peter murmurs. "She's been doing this since she was thirtee-" MJ stops midsentence, and Peter doesn't even have to ask why. His blood runs cold, as Fisk shoots little Arachne with a gun that wasn't there moments earlier. There's a strange ringing in his ears, and he's moving before he even realizes it, his suit on in a matter of seconds, "I have to go," Peter says, his voice hoarse, "MJ, I have to go-" "Go. Go hurry!" MJ replies, her hands folded in front of her face, even as she moves to the already ringing phone. ********** The Spider-Men arrive on the scene at the same time, landing in front of Fisk almost in unison, as though they planned it. "Oh look," Fisk says, "The old Spider-Men. Come to get revenge for poor little Arachne? Silly girl should have stopped when she was ahead. Maybe she'd still be alive-" Miles, already sparking with fury, shares a look with Peter, who's trembling with rage. And they move. Peter goes high and Miles goes low, and maybe Fisk should have thought this through better, because he was barely a match for a single Spider, let alone two furious ones- Fisk was lucky, that day. The Avengers happened to be on planet. And they happened to be watching the news at that very moment. And they happened to see Fisk kill Arachne. They arrived on the scene only moments after the Spider-Men. Captain America took Fisk down with several well placed punches while the rest of the Avengers tried to talk the Spider-Men down...and when that didn't work, the Spider-Men were forcefully restrained by Thor and the Hulk. ******* The Spider-Men spent days looking for her, claiming that Fisk didn't kill her, just sent her somewhere else. Arachne's funeral was held a week after her disappearance. Two days after the funeral of her civilian persona. Both were paid, in full, by Tony Stark. The Spider-Men refused to attend either funeral. "Lost," Peter insisted, as he slams his hand on the table in Avenger's Tower, his mask hanging from his belt, with Miles nodded furiously next to him, "Lost, not dead! You have to keep looking for her!" "You can't give up on her!" Miles agrees as he clutches his own mask, "She's tougher than you think! Fisk didn't kill her. We'd know!" "We watched Fisk kill her," Steve Rogers argues calmly, "As much as you might hate it, as much as it might hurt, you have to accept the truth. She's dead. Arachne's dead." After that, while the Spider-Men would work alongside the Avengers, if they had to, the relationship was never the same. The Spider-Men, and their support networks, never stopped looking for her. Ever.

I try not to ramble too much on my art blog, so instead I will ramble here about my new X-Men oc!!!

(this entire post is just me being the mayor of yappersville over my silly little oc fyi)

Meet X-14 - Olivia Hope Howlett

Olivia exists in a mashup between the XMCU and X-Men Evolution (because I love to mash them together) and is also paired with NBC's Heroes because fuck them for fucking it up so bad, I will rewrite it with my bare fucking hands.

Anyways; X-14 is the biological daughter of Wolverine and when her mother, Kaitlyn Grove, realized that she was pregnant from a one night stand with a mutant, she willing gave the baby over to the Weapon X program basically right after she was born.

X-14 was raised in the Weapon X program and was forced to be injected with adamantium in order to "recreate" the original Weapon X when she was only 5. She was saved by Charles Xavier and he became her surrogate father, teaching her the tools she'd need to keep her feelings and anger regulated and even helping her out of that mistrust she had of others.

Xavier renamed X-14 to Olivia Hope. And when she was old enough, she was enrolled in the institute and was put in a room with her soon-to-be best friend, Rebecca Hudson.

By 1998, Liv and Becca graduated from the institute and they moved out into the city. Around this time, college courses had been implemented at Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters. Becca attended a "normal" college instead.

In 2000, Olivia meets her upstairs neighbor; Peter Petrelli.

Olivia and Peter begin a friendship after they meet on the fire escape while she's out smoking, and it becomes a routine for them. Every single day after school and work, Peter sits on the fire escape in wait for Olivia to get back so they can just talk for hours on end. Unsurprisingly, this prompts Liv to become VERY attached to him.

But due to the fact that Olivia wants to keep her hero life and civilian life separate, she doesn't tell him what she is or what she does. Plus, she's terrified that if he finds out, then he'll abandon her.

It's this same year that Logan Howlett and Marie D'Acanto come to the mansion and Olivia finally meets her father. At first she has no clue who he is until Kitty Pryde informs her of the rumors that he has "steel claws".

This prompts Olivia to properly meet him and realize that they look surprisingly similar, but definitely not the same. Their claws, however, are exactly the same. This causes Liv to want to know Logan better as she quickly realizes that he's her father, though Logan isn't too ecstatic about having a kid. Liv doesn't take any offense to this, instead giving him space and time to hopefully come around to it. After all, she's a grown woman and doesn't need a parent over her shoulder. She already has that with the professor.

When Magneto kidnaps Rogue, Olivia becomes involved and aids in the fight at Liberty Island. Olivia fights alongside Wolverine against Sabertooth, and Liv finally finds her own superhero name; Badger. She's not a female Wolverine, because that'd require her having claws on her feet. Plus she just likes the title much more.

In 2004, Olivia catches wind of a new Weapon X program and she decides to pay them a visit. Here, she meets and saves an 11 year old Laura.

Olivia realizes that Laura is a clone of Logan, thus making the girl technically her little sister. She decides to take parental guardianship over her and becomes Laura's legal guardian. At the same time, Logan and Kamea Palakiko (Melanie's mother) reveal to Liv that they're in a relationship and Liv is forced to spend time with Melanie.

In 2005, Kamea and Logan get married, thus making Olivia and Melanie stepsisters.

By 2006, Peter begins to have visions in his dreams and starts to tell Olivia about them, making her realize he might actually have powers. Despite realizing this, she still doesn't tell him who or what she is, instead keeping him in the dark out of fear of losing him.

Liv struggles to maintain her double life while Peter is starting to realize what he can do. After being visited by future Hiro Nakamura, Peter tells Olivia about what he'd learned and Liv tells him that she'd help him. After meeting with Isaac and Peter finishing the painting, the duo goes to Odessa, Texas to try and "save the cheerleader".

After they meet her and they see Sylar for the first time, Olivia forces Peter and Claire to run while she stays behind. She fights Sylar off for a good bit and returns to the others, only for her to be attacked by Sylar. She finally reveals what she is to Peter after she enters what she calls "feral rage", attempting to kill Sylar in this blind rage, only for Peter to jump in and take Sylar down with him off the roof.

Liv and Clarie go to Peter and he heals from the deadly fall, finally asking Olivia what she is while Claire contacts the police. Liv tells him that she's a mutant and a former lab experiment, but that she wasn't dangerous. Thankfully, he's understanding of why she'd want to keep it a secret after she goes into detail about the very little she remembers of her childhood before the X-Men.

The police come and take Liv and Peter into custody. Olivia doesn't want to be involved with the police, but works with them to tell her side of the events. Olivia's and Peter's stories line up and prove to the police that they're both telling the truth, and Matt Parkman attempts to read Olivia's mind but quickly realizes she's managed to learn how to block out such powers due to Charles Xavier always using his powers to get her to talk to him when she was little.

After Nathan comes to get both Peter and Olivia released from the police station, Peter passes out from his growing health issues. Nathan tells Olivia to head home, assuring her that he'd make sure Peter would be okay and Liv reluctantly agrees, giving him her number so he can contact her if they needed anything.

Upon returning home, Laura questions Liv about why she's been on the news. Olivia is extremely confused until Laura shows her the news broadcast that had been released about Olivia and Peter having been taken into police custody after a cheerleader was found mutilated at the high school.

Liv assues Laura that they didn't do anything and not to worry, but the girl isn't fully convinced.

When Peter gets back home, Olivia checks up on him and tells him how glad she is that he's okay.

And that's all she wrote, y'all. Not actually, obvi. I just don't want this post to be way too long... which I know it already is. Oh well.

Honestly? I just LOVE the concept of forcing Heroes and X-Men together like the dumbass I am. I know I could be normal, but I'm still fucking LIVID that they fucked up so damn badly with Heroes. It had such good potential but they fumbled the ball with the storytelling AND with Peter. Maybe I'll go into more depth later about the rest of the story. Because the storyline for my version of Heroes series 2 is a mixture of retelling X-2 and Last Stand, but more intense.

As for right now, have my favorite not as pivotal arts I've made for Olivia (+ a lil bit of Peter)

Becca 100% just handed Liv the shirt and told her to pose without letting her see what it said 😭

Peter joked about her getting this shirt for 4th of July and she actually got it simply because she's actually Canadian and it's fucking HILARIOUS

Thinking about writing a Song of Achilles + Spider-man AU, bc they’re always on my mind.

My idea : In a world where they’re already a few established superheroes, Achilles takes the spot for number one. His identity is known to the public and even villains fear the blonde. Patroclus has always been on the side, supporting Achilles and his fame. Yet that all changes when a radioactive spider bites him.. and suddenly Patroclus becomes somebody; Spider-man.

He keeps his identity a secret.. not even Achilles knows who this new superhero is. But how long will this secret last?

Your Lost Shadow: Prologue

(An AU turned Fanfiction Script by stressed-bird)

The title here should be very telling, but if it’s not then... I hope this will be interesting for you? Your Lost Shadow is one of my personal favorite aus i’ve made and not just because it accidentally gave me an oc i cherish and love a lot—it’s very Macaque-centric and I can’t promise I will be able to update it regularly or anything like that since I’m always cycling between what au of mine is getting worked on but I do have a general plan and idea of what and where I want to go!

YLS picks up after Season 1, Episode 9!! Anything (basically everything) after Episode 9 has been very changed

The quiet and peaceful Village of the Babbling Brook, idyllic and serene... a village ensnared in time, a living vision of the past. Not quite the past, modern technology had a way of encroaching and wiggling its way into everything, but close enough to it how remote and small it was. Small compared to such cities like the distance Megapolis.

The silence was shattered by a distance explosion, the sound carried miles upon miles from its epicenter. And with it, the sound carried what looked to confused onlookers below like a violet shooting star.

A star that promptly vanished into the mountain range upstream of the village. Life continued.

A star that crashed and made a dent into the mountain he landed on. The dark-furred simian groaned, the pained sound becoming a growl. His weary mind replaying to him the events that led him here, to this crater he laid battered in. The kid had had more power than he’d anticipated, more power than his seal could ever have siphoned away from him. The kid’s power and that damned golden staff.

To think he’d gotten so close... so close to overcoming the Great Sage Equal to Heaven, so close to proving his power as more than a match against the hero. ‘At least he acknowledged I exist again, even if for a moment.’ The demon bitterly half-smiled-half-grimaced at the thought. Gods, his head hurt—his landing was definitely too rough.

But he would take that small victory for what it was. (He’d never be cared for again, but he refused to just be forgotten. He’d rather be hated and cursed than forgotten again.) Even if this “victory” meant he was still lying down in a crater on a distance mountain, miles away... bruised, battered and throughly beaten. Not just merely beaten, if the black playing at the edges of his vision were any sign. But he’d recover, he always did. After all, he couldn’t stay away for too long.

If not because he wanted to be a pain in the Monkie King’s side, then to keep her from being a pain in his. Couldn’t let her think he left her (he absolutely had) and send her dog to fetch him. But that all felt like a lot for him right now, the shadow demon’s bones feeling like they were creaking under his attempts to so much as sit up and his head pounding. Oh yeah, definitely beaten.

Macaque would just... lie down for a moment, take a swift nap. Recover, nurse his wounds. When the moon dipped over the western horizon again, he’d rise with the sun with no headaches in sight and find his way back to Megapolis.

While the shadow demon slept... laid passed out even in his crater, a little creature skittered near. The little spider-like thing staring down with pitch dark eyes. Staring, as another identical creature arrived and also stared down. Eventually, the pair of creature’s eyes turned a glowing magenta hue that broke through the darkness on this night.

Beyond the glowing eyes, the demonic owner of the mountain territory looked down at the injured demon.

Silent minutes passed.

An unspoken command.

The drained monkey demon was resting unaware as more little spider-like creatures gathered, weaved a web. Careful, meticulous, organized... that was how the creatures moved and weaved as they around the demon. Until many of the small creatures pulled away and pulled.

Lifting the demon a half foot off the crater’s bottom on what looked to be a stretcher-net hybrid, as the remaining creatures not pulled skittered under the monkie and held him aloft. It wasn’t long before the stretcher-net was wrapped and turned into an intricately weaved cocoon and the creatures then dutifully carried Macaque away.

Carried him down the mountain, down to it’s base... down to a cave opening.

Down to where the Demon Lady who’d silently ordered the hive-minded creatures of her creation to bring the wounded monkey to her.

Not for any malicious intent however, there was no wish within her to harm the intruder. She would just heal him, patch him up, and after a brief examination... the demon would be free to go. Free to be part of her thriving paradise of a village downstream, the Village of the Babbling Brook.
