Here's a little something about Michelle Jones

Michelle Jones would be the kind of person, who while watching a movie would point out all of the plot holes in it.

While watching a movie together Peter would ask her why she likes to do that, to which she would say that it makes her feel smart. Not book-smart. Everyone knows that already. She feels more logical-thinking/creative-wise smart. As if the movie was trying to push bullcrap her way, and Michelle wouldn't have any of it.

Kind of like all of the street surveys with stupid questions people pretend to know the answers to. Like the "How often should you change the liquid in your turn signals?" type.

She already tries her best to separate idiotic agendas and factual information from each other, and question as much as she can of the world around her.

Finding plot holes requires a similar process, and Michelle finds comfort in completing it successfully.

Gonna limit myself to 5 and the disclaimer before someone gets a stick up their ass: I’m not claiming these are thee fics for everyone, they’re just thee fics I think should be required reading.

I love each of these fics because they encapsulate all the good that can be written in fanfic; exploring loss, humor, angst, found family, comic fusions, blending timelines and continuity together. It’s a perfect example that MCU Peter fandom doesn’t have to be so white, so male, and so racist because there are writers who have been doing it right from the start. The MCU fandom, has a well-deserved and earned reputation of being racist and misogynistic as shit (for irondad) living in tomdaya rpf fantasy land (for spideychelle).

To me these are the blueprint of fics that incorporate the “fandoms” that shouldn’t be so separated that MCU Peter’s life and fic is divided into two separate fandoms. It shouldn’t be and yet it is and while I’ve given up on fandom finally having the fucking vision, at least I know there are fics out there that see it and live it (and are damn good at it too).
