Peter and MJ are married. MJ’s a famous actress. Peter’s still Spider-Man. People think Spider-Man and MJ are together. The problem? Everyone knows MJ is a married woman.

It’s not a well-kept secret that Spider-Man is a homewrecker. He’s a great hero, no doubt about it, but he’s not universally loved in New York City. Not that he’s ever been universally loved here—too many damn cops out for his blood for that to ever be true. And that’s not to mention Jameson’s smear campaign against him. But it’s funny. The only thing Jameson never touches about Spider-Man’s misdeeds is that he’s secretly fucking one of the most famous, married actresses of all time: MJ Watson. Yeah. It’s a bit of a moral quandary.

The first time that TMZ tweeted a picture of Peter and MJ walking down the streets of the East Village speculating about the mystery man that MJ was certainly seeing, MJ had gotten so upset that she decided she wanted to keep their relationship separate from her career.

“I don’t want them involved with us, Pete,” she said, gesturing her phone at him wildly, the headline a black contrast against the white of her screen. “This is us, okay? I want this to just be for us. I don’t want them to ruin it.”

It had felt weird being the one protected from something, for once.

Or, MJ has a chance to win the first Academy Award of her career, and Peter is in their apartment three thousand miles away. Unsurprisingly, he's spiraling.

There are so many reasons I’ve been with these idiots since day 1, almost too many to name!! I’ve been here a while and it’s been so wonderful seeing this ship grow and grow

I guess first off from a canon pov, I love how awkward and sweet they are at first, and then how that grows to genuine warmth and comfort with each other. Their relationship is just so pure and wholesome and really just warms my heart 🥲 I love that they kinda switch places where MJ’s the more optimistic one

Possibly my favorite thing but I love love LOVE the way they look at each other

And then in fanon we have them constantly joking around with each other, taking that level comfort having gone even further. It’s like canon but expanded and with more life breathed into it

I also love that they always come back to each other, which is what honestly gives me hope after that depressing af ending of nwh lmao

I feel like I could go on and on and on but Ill just stick with the basics for now

Pretty much, they are perfect for each other. I hate soulmate aus, but Peter and MJ are soulmates amen

In an AU where everything is the same except Tony survived the snap in Endgame, MJ and Ned are both very aware that something is up with their memories. Huge, overlapping chunks of their lives are gone. And Spider-Man has something to do with it.

The only public figure Spider-Man has ever been closely associated with is Tony Stark. In need of answers, and not the types to just let something like this go, the kids hack and heist their way somehow onto Tony Stark's secret lake house property. It's weird that no alarms go off when they get close, but they manage it. They're about to knock, when Tony Stark, savior of the universe, opens the door.

He does not look great. Aside from the general post-battle healing and the fact that they have literally caught him at home, there's just something...off. It doesn't take long for them to realize that it's the same thing that's off with them, too.

Something important has been taken from all of their lives. Someone.

After Tony calms down from his initial freak-out, MJ and Ned (though mostly MJ) manage to convince him pretty quickly. The fact that FRIDAY never alarmed because they're in her system already is a huge point to their side. 

And, the fact that he agrees with them. He survived the battle, everything should be fine. But something is so, very wrong. He's grieving someone he doesn't even know.

So, a new team is born. A trio united to find their shared missing person, the eraser mark in their memories none of them can bear to lose, all for different reasons.

They don't have much to go on, but Tony agrees with them on one thing: Spider-Man is involved somehow. And that's a good place to start.
