"I'm on Quesadilla island on very important business- yeah I like Pac but I don't want him to get caught up in all this"
Why do I feel like this quote in particular may become very relevant to Fit's December 30th stream...

Was thinking about why the fae would want to swap children or take humans to their realm and I've come to the conclusion that it's mostly about lying.
A human can tell you you're the most beautiful thing they've ever seen. Or make a less hurtful excuse for why they don't want to do something when theyre upset with you for something you can't control.
I imagine fae toddlers are just as insufferable as human toddlers with their questions and demands, but not being able to (harmlessly) lie and say things like "blue's clues went bed because she needs rest just like you" would be incredibly unpleasant.
I imagine the fae want good liars, and admire the human ability to lie. They want secretaries who can say their schedule's full, messengers who can deceive their enemies.
I think it would be really funny if one of the Fair Folk became fascinated with affirmations and decided the favor some mortal owed them was saying their morning affirmations for them because they can't.

Still kinda pondering that peg and how to get it securely seated into the leg for swivel joint purposes.
I think I'm gonna need to trim the top off and extend the peg somehow.... then I can just fill the leg up with almost solid goop and drill a hole for it to slot into, or wrap it with tape and seat it in the goop while it's curing....
The resulting connection won't be as permanent or sturdy as a peg with a flared top embedded into the leg would be, but figuring out how to achieve that with the limited tools and supplies I have on hand is too fiddly for my mind right now.
And besides, a smooth peg is basically what the Obitsu slim male body had for it's upper thigh rotation. It'll just be a return to form.
As for what to extend the peg with... hmmmmm....
Oh, I have some busted dollar tree novelty pens with smooth ABS tubes for the casing! One of those might work, cut in half.

"How is it protected and safe" I'm assuming they were told not to leave because of whatever was on the other side of the wall? Bagi mentioned wanting to know what was there in her first books. Maybe less of a "you are safe here" and more of a "we want you to believe its unsafe to leave"

So I’ve said this before but I’m thinking about it again….
As far as my book characters go, my art of them is NOT canon. Like, don’t look at that and think ‘the author drew this, so it’s canon!’. The only canon appearance stuff is stuff i *outright state* in the text. So like, for example, Quincy MUST have dark hair, scars on her arms, etc, Marlowe MUST have his plague scar, blue eyes, thin blonde hair, etc, all the priests gotta have black and white robes, but the designs and stuff? Not canon. Headcanon.
I basically view it as drawing fan art of my own characters. Like mine are fan depictions, if that makes sense? They’re subjected to change at any time, some things are even deliberately against canon because I like to draw them that way (Quincy being Very Buff for instance, in canon she’s more wirey).
Idk, i think about it often cuz like, i love the art other people make based on descriptions and some of it has affected how I draw them myself. Now that I’m designing more high-concept stuff for In Perpetuum (which is a lot more artistically minded and inspired, mostly by Dark Souls/Elden Ring and biblical art), I’m like ‘wow i can’t design things that are as intricate and dark as i imagine them’. I am very limited as an artist, the way that i learned has created an eye that leans towards more simplistic designs that are inspired by comics and animation. You can tell i learned from Avatar the Last Airbender, mangas, and X-men comics. My designs reflect that. So like… I see other people’s medieval art and I’m like “Wow i wish i could do that” but when i try they always end up simpler. Anyways, all this to say, in my head Laz and John are more gothic, more medieval, more dark souls. They’re more intricate. They have way more going on, filigree on everything. John is scarier. Idk. I’m going to keep trying to improve and make my designs match my mental image but it’s a process, it always is, always growing.
Just some thoughts!

Hey, I'm sorry, but Black Butler is back and I just think about this sometimes......
If the Contract is voided like some people suspect might happen, that means that Sebastien can't eat o!Ciel's soul for one-
But also that o!Ciel will also not be able to trust him the second that happens and I find that interesting. :)
What would come of that? :))))

something something the contrast between record keeping being obscenely difficult to record and sort in the magnus institute, a literal archive with intrinsic connections to the fear god of Knowing Everything vs. the OIAR having such an overabundance of knowledge that even the devices that store it need to express it further and in a more tangible form than they should be able to naturally, speaking out loud with unknown software to spread the information within as much as possible
i dont know where im going with this but my brain is running a mile a minute with all the new tmagp stuff !! are these two sides of the same coin or is this something purely unique to the magnus institute in terms of how it manifested so selfishly (selfishness and hoarding did seem to be a big thing with jonah) compared to this. barely willing subjection to constant inflows of knowledge in the OIAR

I think I might have a 'Lena in Camelot' prompt somewhere in my inbox so I'll probably get around to actually doing something with this idea, but imagine Lena gets dropped in the Camelot world at a time when Morgana is missing. Lena is "found" and assumed to be Morgana, and is thereby brought back home to Morgause (in this reality Morgana and Morgause are ruling Camelot while Arthur & Co are in hiding).
At first Lena is like-- wow Morgana has a sister, I've always wanted a sister, but soon realizes that Morgause is basically a female version of Lex ("jesus I can't get a breakin any reality, can I?") and discovers all the bad things the sisters have planned.
Like executing a bunch of Arthur's knights. Lena halts the execution in the nick of time, adlibbing something about actually serving penance for their crimes against the crown, "death is to kind a punishment" type of thing. It's the first clue for Morgause that something is hinky.
After that, Morgause keeps a close eye on Lena, and finds her trying to subvert many of Morgause's more sinister plans. Lena also rules with her characteristic kindness, slowly winning the people over-- even the knights, since Lena has ordered them to be treated well as prisoners, and has even managed to sneak in a couple of secret conversations with them, telling them 'hey I'm working on something but I promise I'll get you out of here, just give me some time.' And then actually following through on it.
Morgause continues to train "Morgana", and thereby gives Lena the knowledge and practice she needs to master her magic. Unwittingly, she gives Lena the ability to defend herself and strike back when Morgause has finally had enough and confronts her, attacking her in the main hall.
Meanwhile, Arthur & Co have found the real Morgana, and start mending fences. Things are still tense when they arrive at the castle mid-Morgause confrontation, but when Morgana sees how easily Morgause attacks her doppelganger (maybe even still assuming Lena is still Morgana but that Morgana is losing loyalty), Morgana realizes that she was never more than a pawn to her sister. In an instant, her allegience switches back to Arthur and Gwen.
She joins the magical fight against Morgause, and Arthur battles Morgause's henchmen alongside his reclaimed knights, who all hold a flame of loyalty for the doppelganger who helped them escape the dungeons and flee Camelot.
After Morgause is defeated, Arthur reclaims his throne and his sister. They plan to rule together and build a brighter future for Camelot. But first they have to figure out who Lena is and what she's doing here-- which she gladly tells them, using terms and ideas they'd understand. With Morgana's help, Lena manages to open rift between worlds for her to get home.
Before she leaves, Lena takes a moment to speak with her counterpart-- "you may have lost a sister, but you still have a family. Be certain you don't lose them again-- it's not worth it to be alone, trust me."
Morgana nods, taking her words to heart. When Lena steps through the portal to go home, Morgana rejoins her family.
Together, they make their first steps towards a better world.

it’s somewhat clear here…but…something something…the dress, the wallpaper…there’s something about at all that I’m trying to puzzle together
But something also rattles about:
Tumblr media
“[Name] is not your name, that’s the name your [parent] gave you. Your name is [Papa’s choice].”
Jane…[REDACTED]…El…011…Henry…Edward…[Peter Ballard?]…001…
“That’s not Will”
“Eleven? That’s your name?”
“Could it be Lonnie’s kid?” “I mean…Could’ve been.”
“Eleanor! She’s my uh…” “Cousin!”
“It was all a lie, a terrible lie”
“All while performing in a silly, terrible play”
I’m also being totally and completely normal about…

*(not counting titania and ulysses bc they were constructs then.)

Siiiiigh I'm trying to work on my post-Civil-War fic with Wakanda Bucky and Nomad Steve. I'm already clueless about coming up with action spy mission scenes, but this particular thing is really bugging me:
How did Nomad Steve fight? The only time we see him fully Nomad-style in the movies is the beginning of IW fighting Glaive and Midnight. He doesn't get the cool gauntlet shields from T'Challa until later ("Get this man a shield").
The shield thing is very much Captain America/Steve's signature move in combat (duh). I was writing a scene of the Fugitive Avengers fighting an armed group and had Steve ricocheting bullets back to their source and then realized wait he doesnt have a freakin shield.
Does he just run up and punch everyone like a self-destructive badass? Does he use guns in that time period?
I like trying to come up with / wrap my head around the lives of Nomad and the other Avengers with him during those two years on the run, but man it's hard. What are yall's thoughts and headcanons about that time?

Season 6 Plot possibility (contains spoilers!)
So I don't think this is REALLY likely to happen, but I think it would be cool if it did, so I felt like sharing!
So with S5 ending how it does, we have two people who are conspicuously *not* in Paris.
Luka&Chloé. An absolute good and an absolute evil(to some)
And we have.... the wish. The wish that is pretty fundamentally messed up in execution. It's an ending, and there are elements that seem 'good' but the overall vibe is still *bad ending*
What if, considering the apparently narrow scope of the the wish, Paris is largely the only city 'affected', and those two being out, they are 'missed' by all the little subtle tweaks the wish makes for people to accept the results as truth. And a part of S6 involves the returning and realizing *something* is off, and having to figure out, what, why, and how to undo what was done.
This mingled in with LB/Cn vs Chrysalis. A dash of enemies to lovers Lukloe, Chlodemption, and the ability to give Marinette a chance to come clean and redo her choices at the end of S5.

Well.. I was thinking of a fic that picks up where they're at the airport and Henk tells him to leave to save himself from the KGB that are racing to the gate but instead they DO kiss and then maybe it goes from there he goes with him to Tokyo maybe. Not sure I just felt so disappointed by the way they both pull away and then Henk leaves omggg
Ha, I too was bummed out when Alexey pulled away twice from Henk (because "no longer friends" and because "not the right time"). But the unfinished hug leitmotiv had such an awesome pay-off in the final scene at the airport, where Henk slowly walked towards his Russian boyfriend as if not sure if he was finally going to get that hug or not, and they passionately fell into each other's arms in front of their wives. 😝

However, your idea has a lot of potential. ^^ Do you mind if I do a bit of brainstorming with you (and anyone else who might want to chip in) before I try to write anything, just to flesh things out a bit? See, I'm a sucker for historical accuracy and a stickler for details. 😆 And although a gay kiss in public might sound a bit risky even in Gorbachev's progressive Russia, my biggest issue would be the existence of, well, Henk's wife in Tokyo. 😛 Not that they couldn't have a secret relationship... But, BUT, the only way for Alexey to visit Tokyo in 1988 would be to... defect to the West. Sounds like a good spy story to me (and I always longed to write one) but that would take a loooot of writing.
Another option would be Henk making multiple trips to Moscow under the pretext of "business". I can think of many ways for them to sneak into that little dark room where Henk hid, just as Nina is busy putting the boys to sleep. 😈 Unless they meet again in 1991 like we see in the movie, when Alexey moved to the U.S. after the fall of the Soviet Union, Idk what do you think?

TAMER CARD GAME AU 3 - RUKI
Tumblr media
The reigning champion, the Digimon Queen. Or Ice Queen if you feel a bit catty. She doesn't care either way. Ruki's first year competing gained her quite a bit of reputation, as she sailed to the upper echelons of the game on a river of other children's tears. Her use of a particularly cold and menacing looking variant of Devimon bordered on psychological warfare - which seemed particularly mean-spirited given that she was already miles better than basically everyone else.
Then she met Ryo.
Ruki's second year saw her crush her competition even harder, despite having started late in the season for whatever reason. Rumour has it she was busy babysitting, which is obviously a lie, because who would trust this girl around small children? She'd probably eat them.
Regardless, Ruki took the title by virtue of being better than everyone else. And also, some think, Ryo not being there. Which very, very few people are stupid enough to say to her face or where she might be able to hear.
Ruki's mother has been running along with the whole thing surprisingly well after a period of confusion - she's now decided Ruki is going to be a "Digimon Card Game Idol", whatever that's supposed to mean. Which is great, right? That she's taking an interest in her daughter. It's great. Really. It's fine. Stop talking about it.
Whatever Ruki won in her second year, nobody knows. She doesn't talk about it, and it's not as obvious as Ryo's sudden appearance in a series of video games. Some people say she rejected any sort of prize, that victory by itself was her only goal. These people are very dramatic. Still, Ryo disappeared, and is still gone. And she had the opportunity to get what she wanted already. So why is she back, really?
Ruki only really uses the same handful of monsters, though she gave away her initial 'ace' from that first year, as if trying to rid herself of the reminder of 'only' getting second place out of several hundred competitors in her first year playing the game. Renamon is obviously her main mon, and Ruki talks to the card (some say) as if she's some sort of coach/ruthless stage mom. It's a little weird. Don't tell her I said that, please. She's very scary.
Ruki at first appears at random events to crush her opponents and for publicity, while looking dissatisfied and bored. She has parallel storylines to the boys that mostly revolve around her relationships with her family and with this seemingly childish franchise - she's a bit older than the other kids, being a young teenager, and seemingly has a lot of pride, so the image has grown kind of incongruous. She eventually takes an interest in "the gogglehead" when he evolves his run-of-the-mill Agumon card into a nonexistent and ludicrously powerful Adult. What exactly is a "Growmon" supposed to be, and is it a worthy challenge?
CARDS
Tumblr media
Ruki's primary monster card these days - even the other monsters she sometimes puts on the field feel more like accessories to this particular monster. Renamon reacts incredibly quickly to Ruki's commands and even seems to take some initiative when not given anything to work with. Renamon will sometimes ask other monsters or Tamers questions when in 'downtime', which most seem to think is some sort of mind game that Ruki's getting her to do.
Battle wise, Renamon is incredibly mobile and versatile in any form, mostly using the one straightforward evolution line and adapting well to being given traits of other monsters.
SOME OTHER MONSTERS
Tumblr media
A Bakumon that will evolve into Bullmon, then Vajramon. It starts out as support that will sometimes deliver a singular powerful attack while Renamon runs interference, then as a sort of 'mount' as Bullmon, then a physical attacker that covers for Taomon's longer spells, almost reversing their initial tactics. Ruki doesn't directly interact with it much, so most of its growth comes from Renamon and second-hand experience from Ruki talking to Renamon. Over time it seems to develop some sort of intense fixation on the primary monster. Is that...normal?
Tumblr media
KoDokugumon, which Ruki seems to use mostly as a 'trapmaker' and support for Renamon, memorably using a sort of 'Survey Corps' inspired strategy, whatever that means. There's the obvious Dokugumon evolution, but rumour has it Ruki has developed a trick for quickly evolving it into something very nasty that can possess and enhance other monsters. Scary stuff. Good thing it's only a game, eh?
PROTEGE?
Apparently, Ruki doesn't have much of a problem teaching others how to play the game, as long as they don't "waste time". A friend of Takato's might benefit from this experience before making a rather...eventful debut.
