Exclusive figures from the NHS reveal that patients in England were diagnosed with one of 13 Victorian diseases when admitted to hospital on 421,370 occasions in the year to March. They include all people admitted with these illnesses - which include gout, tuberculosis, malnutrition, whooping cough, measles, scurvy, typhoid, scarlet fever, diphtheria, mumps, rickets, cholera, and vitamin D deficiency - even if it wasn’t the primary reason for their admission...
Mr Baker said: “These are all completely vaccine preventable, particularly with measles which is super transmissible. Often you get these communities with a lot of anti-vaxxers, and they often get outbreaks of measles and mumps with people that refuse to have themselves or their kids immunised.”
Difficulty accessing routine NHS vaccinations or choosing to stay away from the health service throughout the pandemic may have also impacted these admissions - but Mr Baker warned that if a large proportion of children remain unvaccinated “post-covid”, there will likely be a peak in cases....
He added: “If we stop immunising our children, then we go back to the Victorian era. We look upon these things as a bit of a thing in the past because they are a thing in the past, not because we've got rid of them. It’s because we've controlled them through immunisation. If we take away vaccines they will bounce back.”...

yeah yeah i got recommended that Henry Cooldown analysis video whatever. i am still not over people comparing Henry to a medieval knight, NOT even taking the time to unpack that said mental image of a knight is 'mostly' associated with the British Monarchy*, an extension of its Empire that *checks notes* did a long list of atrocities like imperialism and colonialism, and also (multiple) genocides.
Henry is NOT British, he is Irish. Although considering the history of Ireland and how poorly the British Empire has treated them (amongst SO MANY OTHER COUNTRIES AND DIASPORAS), yeah it's NOT surprising that an Irish man like Henry is essentially forced to adopt quote on quote 'British sensibilities' to 'survive'. <- intentional imagery or not, the implications are not lost on me.
Like okay, calling out the comparison is cool but it sure would be nice if people went further to unpack what that means and implies in the long term. you know, like ACTUAL CRITICAL ANALYSIS?!

k so sorry to be a mean nasty aro person but i do not like when non aspec people use the split attraction model. i Will gatekeep that actually. aspec people faced so much shit for using the split attraction model and it's something for us, something designed to communicate our experiences, and it feels so fucking icky seeing non-aspecs use it. i won't say that your romantic and sexual attractions have to line up exactly if you're allo. i don't know you. i don't live in your body. find some other way to express it though cause this isn't For you

Okay, do all eastern Targets/Walmarts suck or just the ones in my new area? I've used both for groceries in the past (when living in different places) and they've always had great selections for both produce and pantry, but I've tried both stores here and Target had a sad little produce island and hardly any cheese variety and Walmart had no fresh produce, even less cheese, and was terribly organized. And I say this as someone who is very used to uprooting every three months and moving to a different place and getting used to a new grocery store.
(going to try an actual grocery store next, since someone in my lab recommended it and I do need to actually be able to find common ingredients to be able to get any cooking done)
