I feel like sometimes Sam and Dean get the BoJack Horseman/Holden Caulfield treatment where we forget that they’re supposed to be antiheroes not vindications of shitty behaviour, like the show has been screaming for 15 years that their dynamic is literally destroying the multiverse and maybe that’s a bad thing, I mean don’t get me wrong I love my problematic children and want them to be happy and healthy but the real horror the entire time has been the lengths these two will go to for each other and ultimately only each other, the toxicity of their success for everyone else is the point, that’s what makes it a literal tragedy. (and of course the real horror behind that is that it’s not even their fault because every time they try to be better people or heal without each other Chuck compels them to not, which is also a hallmark of literal tragedy, I hate it here)

it's not just that queer characters nearly always die and die bloody but they die specifically for or because of Dean, and since they seem to insist he's straight, the whole theme of the show is that straight white masculinity is built on the backs of queer people

on the other hand, if we accept that Dean is himself queer, and consider Sam the main character of the pilot and finale, then all of the queer characters including Dean die because of Dean's obsession with Sam, who gets to live his Happy Heterosexual EndingTM, honestly I think Sam's ending is supposed to be shallow and depressing because it's making fun of the idea that heteropatriarchy is what makes for a happy ending, there's an element of camp to the finale I think we overlook sometimes, I go back and forth about whether the show is replicating or critiquing homophobia and the answer is probably both and depends on who's writing that week

So, they want us to believe that Cas helped Jack to build the perfect Heaven for Dean, the Heaven he deserved, and he decided that 1- it was a good idea to welcome him with the same cheap beer he drank with his abusive father during the childhood he never had 2- even a better idea having this abusive father and frankly neglecting mother as the picture of the perfect family living near him 3- giving him no purpose but waiting for his brother to live his life and die while driving around with no friends, no family, no home and 4- having Dean face this post death paradise alone, without meeting him at the door as this is something Cas would ever do (and I decided to ignore the fact that they let Dean die in the first place, like he doesn't have an angel who loves him unconditionally always watching over him and literally God for a son).

Cas chose this for him? CAS?? Mr. ''Dean Winchester is beautiful, the most loving and caring human being ever existed who deserves everything good and perfect there's in this world and beyond''?? Really??

The writers gave Dean a horrible death and this perfect Heaven, they decided to not include Cas in the finale in any way and his only mention is Bobby saying that this is how Cas imagined Dean's paradise, when we all know that it's not possible, this is not what he wanted for him at all. I swear, nothing in this episode makes any sense, nothing.
