justice for sam

If the spnepisodebracket craze has shown us anything, it's that the supernatural fanbase is extremely divided, with the lowly sam stan seemingly at the bottom of the pile. sam is always last in polls, so this is a bracket for the 10% or so who always votes for him. because yeah, there's 327 episodes of Supernatural, but how many are popular because of a dean or destiel moment? how many good episodes are drowned out because they focus on sam?

i've chosen, with some crowdsourced peer review (special thanks to @spneveryseason, @suncaptor, and @ambersock!) 125 episodes that are Sam Relevant. Some are extremely sam-centric, some just have a shot where sam looks like he's being crucified that gives me brain worms -- i tried to be generous about it to keep a relatively even seasons distribution! matchups will be random and polls will last 24 hours each. in the tradition of @spnepisodebracket (who this is obviously inspired by and would not be possible without!) i'll try to rb a gifset for every episode in the poll!

a final note: no this is not that serious but the criteria for voting here should be how good the episode is as a SAM episode, not as anything else, so please vote accordingly! i am making this for people who actually enjoy sam and if that is not you, then this is not the poll for you!

Can you please reblog/like this post if you're still interested in reading more chapters of my Sastiel fanfic, Electric Indigo?

It's not a finished story yet and I wanna make sure that I'm not continuing it for no reason except for my own benefit. I mean, I wanna finish it but I also wanna make sure I still have readers!

Because let's face it - What's a story without the reader, eh?

If I have solid encouragement to continue it then that would be great because the smutty chapter I'm writing (chapter 14 the next one that is) is really hard to finish and well, I don't know if I'm any good at writing smut so you're going to need to tell me when it's finally completed! ;)

My #1 post of 2022

Hey guys so my first text post of 2022!

This is a bit later than I intended, but here we go...

So, 2021 while stressful due to obvious pandemic reasons, was also a weirdly decent year for me. It's a year that I discovered more of who I am and how good life could be now that I have finally begun to move on from past traumatic experiences and mental health problems, these problems I was still dealing with regardless of a pandemic or not. They had been lingering years before the worst shit happened to the whole world and I am grateful that I have worked them out, whether covid affected that or not. I can't say if it did to be honest. But anyway.

My point is that while yes, my mental health could always potentially get bad again, it seems that for the time being, I'm actually and honestly doing well. So there is that.

Life has also got pretty busy lately, so that would be why I don't use tumblr that often these days, but in spite of this, there have been some great peeps on here that I'm glad to have gotten to know in the last year or two on a semi regular basis, perhaps only spoken to a little or even just mutually followed.

So said peeps, I would like to give a special mention to. These peeps are just plain awesome and lovely (and I hope I don't forget anyone - sorry in advance if I did!!) are as follows:

4x20: a light beam pours over Jimmy Novak’s body and then fades as Castiel possesses him. His trenchcoat flutters in the wind and his eyes are wet as he looks around. Castiel slowly raises his hand and watches it as he flexes his fingers.

5x10: Castiel advances on Lucifer slightly, before he realizes he is still trapped in a circle of holy fire. He and Lucifer look down at the ring as Castiel backs up. Lucifer looks at him appraisingly. Castiel stares defiantly at him, saying, “You are not taking Sam Winchester. I won’t let you.”

5x22: Sam and Dean stand across from Lucifer in Nick’s body, which is decaying significantly. Sam holds Lucifer’s eye contact as he says to himself, “So he knows. Doesn’t change anything.” Dean watches him and interrupts with Sam’s name. Sam doesn’t respond and continues, “We don’t have any other choice.” Dean quickly pleads with him, saying, “No.” Sam raises his chin and Dean looks to Lucifer, who continues staring. Sam says, “Yes.” Lucifer closes his eyes as the whole room is flooded with a bright light, at which Dean shields his eyes as Sam braces himself.

5x22: Lucifer in Sam’s body walks slowly into a circle of demons standing stock still. He repeatedly flexes his hand into a fist and rolls his shoulders, then comes to a stop. He says, “Sam.” as he looks down at his hand. He looks up and speaks slowly, condescendingly. He continues, “Come on. I can feel you. Scratching away in there.”

6x20: in Stull Cemetery, Lucifer in Sam’s body snaps his fingers, and Castiel and his vessel explode in slow motion. A voiceover reads [I was done. I was over. And then the most extraordinary thing happened.] Suddenly the particles reconstitute themselves in Castiel’s form as he looks down at himself, shocked.

5x22: still in the cemetery, Sam’s hand slowly unclenches from a fist as his eyes slowly focus, then his hand falls entirely to his side as Sam regains control of his body from Lucifer. Sam’s face twists as he chokes with the effort, and he staggers back, as Dean falls to the ground against the impala. Sam breathes raggedly as Dean, beaten and bloody, looks over at him. They make eye contact and Sam says, still panting, “It’s okay, Dean. It’s gonna be okay.”

7x17: in Sam’s hospital room, Castiel sits on Sam’s bed as his eyes glow red and streaks of bright red veins fade into his skin as he absorbs Sam’s cage trauma. Sam gasps and flails as he is relieved of that pain, and Castiel removes his hand from Sam’s face, staring at it fixedly. Dean calls to Sam, rushing to his side. The red fades from Castiel’s eyes as he rocks back and forth slightly. Sam sits up and recognizes him, saying, “Cas? Cas, is that you?” Castiel slowly looks up to Sam’s place on the bed, his eyes widening in fear as he hallucinates Lucifer in place of Sam. Lucifer sits relaxed with his hands folded, greeting him with, “Hello, brother.”

11x10: standing in a visualization of the cage, Sam speaks to Lucifer, steadfast, “I’m ready to die. And I’m ready to watch people I love die.” Lucifer stares at him coolly, as he finishes, shaking his head, “But I’m not ready to be your bitch.”

11x10: Castiel sits against the bars of the cage, bloodied as Lucifer has him in his hold ready to attack again. Castiel glares at him and asks, “Can you really beat her?” Lucifer smiles slightly with satisfaction and answers, “I can.” Castiel responds, “Then yes.” Lucifer closes his eyes as the cage fills with bright light, Sam and Dean shield their eyes in the background and then the light recedes.

11x14: in the library of the bunker, Lucifer in Castiel’s vessel has Sam pinned to a column with his hand in Sam’s chest crushing his soul. Lucifer makes a face, clenching his jaw, as his hand pulls out and Sam falls to the floor in a heap. Lucifer tries to look away as his gaze is pulled to his hand. He blinks and grimaces, speaking with some effort to say, “Hello, Castiel.” as Castiel regains control of the vessel.
