you felt a hand grab your shoulder and your blood ran cold. you froze and couldn’t move your feet. it was the feeling you got during stage fright, at least someone helps you off the stage then. your breath hitched and heart stopped.
♪ be running up that building ♪
the music coming from your walkman was becoming distant. far away. you slowly turned only to reveal mike wheeler thankfully. taking a breath of relief and letting your muscles relax. “are you okay these days? you seem on edge?” mike asked, putting his other hand on your shoulders and taking a look at both your eyes.
he examined your face for any cuts or bruises which may have forced you to become on high alert but physically you seemed fine. a little sweat but you did just come back from PE so nothing out of the ordinary. “huh—? oh no i’m fine, i’ve just been studying hard i guess. y’know pulling all-nighters and such,” you laughed it off and loosened the tight grip you had in your notebooks.
but the truth was you were on edge. scared for your life even. last week a girl named chrissy cunningham had been so-called “murdered.” which you and your friends couldn’t believe because hawkins isn’t a town where people get murdered. more like sucked into an alternate dimension that’s parallel to the human world with scary monsters that look like huge venus flytraps.
so your friends decided to look into it and now were in search of eddie munson. he was the so-called “murderer” of chrissy but it’s quite unbelievable. you didn’t know eddie personally but mike, will, and dustin did. they said he was a creep alright but wasn’t a psycho. who kills people at least.
you guys were in the woods with everyone when your nose started bleeding. wasn’t unnatural since the woods was on a hill which made the atmosphere easier to get nosebleeds from and it was dry in hawkins as always.
but something felt weird. you got them more than ten times a week and felt almost fizzing after them. headaches and nightmares were a must. were you just paranoid? from chrissy’s death? but that’s ridiculous. you’ve witnessed way more haunting and thrilling stuff in the past so this shouldn’t be much?
but it did all start happening when you saw chrissy’s body on the floor of eddie’s trailer you sort of doubt mike’s interpretation of eddie’s innocence. what if chrissy was some type of devil-cult sacrifice that eddie created. you knew hellfire was a club where the boys just played dnd whcih you’ve played before and it was just a game.
but after all of jason’s yelling and speech’s, you hated to say but you kind of believed him. it couldn’t have been the demogorgans and upside down again right? eleven and jopper had destroyed the gate and the mind flayer you thought.
“are you sure? we can take a break—we have been walking for a while now,” mike insisted taking your hand and walking you to a nearby log to sit down. you could barely focus on mike’s voice while he spoke. your head was pounding and the weird noises in the back weren’t helping.
it was like a clock but not one of those new ones but an old grandfather clock that would be in a film like peter pan. you put your head on mike’s shoulder to try to stop the feeling of your head spinning yet you felt as if you rode the carousel too many times and was going to throw up. “hey you okay? guys! stop! i need help! i think y/n—
the room went dark.
the feeling stopped, everything stopped. you lifted your head from what you thought was mike’s shoulder but it was nothing. you looked around and it was empty. you were standing in a black room. but there were no walls. there was no sky or floor. there was water covering the ground.
the panic set in. the familiar feeling of your blood running cold and heart stopping was kicking in. “mike! mike! el! dustin! max! lucas! will! mike!” you called out for everyone. every single one of your friends. you called name after name. your parents too. but nothing helped.
you felt trapped even though there was nothing holding you. you were alone. until you weren’t. you called out one last time, “mike!” and someone responded but not mike.
“y/n. it’s time.”
“NO! NO!” you screamed and ran. you had no sense of direction and no idea of where you were going but you had to try something. the floor collapsed into itself and you fell into a hole. falling felt like hours. you tried holding onto something, anything. but there was nothing around.
your back hit hard on the floor. you touched the grass surrounding you. you quickly sat up and looked around. it was a cemetery. suddenly it began to rain but you didn’t get wet. you couldn’t even feel the water droplets hit your body. you could see it and not feel it.
“y/n, i’m sorry. i really tried—we really tried to save you but it was too late,” the voice broke down into crying and you cautiously turned to face your worst nightmare.
“y/n! WAKE UP! please! wake up!” mike shouted shaking your shoulders and calling over the others for help. “y/n! wake up!” dustin and will yelled. “oh shit shit shit!” max repeated and everyone began to panic. “what the fuck do we do!” lucas asked looking around for an answer.
“g-get the phone! in the car and ask nancy, robin, and steve if they found a cure—or anything to save them from the curse!” mike instructed while el pleaded you to wake up. dustin, max, and lucas rushed down the hill to the car to find the phone.
mike was crying in will, el, and dustin’s arms while max and lucas were comforting each other steve, nancy, and jonathan stood behind them trying not to break down on the grass. your parents were in white chairs crying with each other. you walked up to them, “what’s going on?” but no one responded.
as soon as you brushed past them they dissolved, leaving the only thing there, a tombstone. a large gray one with a curved top and dozens of flowers in front. white lillie’s were most of them, the flowers mike would give you on every single date. you fought back a few back tears and carefully kneeled in front of the tombstone, revealing a name:
“y/n y/l/n, loved by many.”
there was another line with smaller text which you could barely read so you squinted your eyes and knelt more down only to see, “it was their time” carved in a much more threatening font. you jumped back and scrambled to stand up in fear. you heard footsteps behind you and when you blinked the grass and tombstone were gone.
it was the dark black background now with the water floor and no walls. you didn’t want to turn around. it was a hand on your shoulder like earlier. but the grip tightened. you knew it wasn’t mike. you stood straight and froze in fear.
“it’s time y/n, time for you to join me.” the voice uttered with such a heavy deep voice you were already freaked out even without witnessing who it was. “but i…i don’t want to go,” you mumbled and felt a tear slip out of your right eye.
with the grip still on your shoulder, a dark figure was stepping closer towards you. you then turned around and saw no one and turned back around to see a disfigured, skull-like creature staring at you. it was towering over you, using its height as an advantage to scare you.
you gulped and blinked back the tears from streaming down your face. “please,” you begged but didn’t dare to move a muscle. your body was tense, holding back from any movement that would cost you your life.
“mike! mike! i have them on the phone!” dustin shouted while running to mike. “they say it’s music??!!” lucas said while giving the phone to mike. nancy answered ‘it’s music mike! music can reach parts of the brain that words can’t! it’s the only thing that can bring her out of her trance!”
mike instantly opened the bag you were holding the entire trip and dumped the valuables onto the ground. the group helped look through all the stuff until mike found your walkman and now was searching the tapes.
“what song does she like?!” max shouted, busily opening pockets and pouches. “madonna, bowie, music mike music!” dustin yelled. mike tried to think, until it popped into his head.
kate bush.
“kate bush! it’s kate bush! running up that hill!” mike scrambled the tapes to find the purple-white cover with kate bush. “found it!” el shouted and handed it to mike who put it into the walkman and put them on your ears just as your body levitated off the ground. the group all took a step back and stared as your body was lifted up in the air.

Training (Armin Arlert x Reader).

✵ Summary : You need help in hand to hand combat and Armin is more than happy to help.
✵ Word count : + 2,3k.

It was time to train.
You were all outside, waiting in the field, pairing by two. Jean, Sasha, Connie, Mikasa, Armin and you.
And to your dismay you were paired with Mikasa. You didn’t hate her, not even a bit, she even was one of your closest friends. She just happened to be much stronger than you.
Being given that today was the hand to hand combat training, you weren’t the most at ease. You already trained with Mikasa before, she was sweet to you, trying not to hurt you too much, escaping the attentive gaze of Levi, who was watching you train to make it look like you could give a few punches to her. But to no use, you weren’t weak but everyone knew that you needed to learn some skills and confidence to be able to surpass yourself.
You were brought out of your thoughts when Mikasa gave you a light punch to your shoulder, almost making you fall.
“Come on, wake up and try to give back the blow I gave you”.
And you tried, taking a few steps forward, launching your right fist to her jaw, too slow. She had already dodged your move even before you could get close to her. She gave a kick to the back of your left knee, this time, efficiently making you fall forward, face first in the dirt.
“Sorry, didn’t mean to kick you that hard, let me help you”
As Mikasa helps you get up, you can’t help but let out with a light laugh, “Yeah, you really aren’t aware of your strength Mikasa, a few more punches and it was the end for me”.
She smiles at you while you rub your nose, checking if you didn’t bleed, again, but hopefully she “tried” to be gentle with you. Gentle really wasn’t in Mikasa’s vocabulary, you thought.
“You know what? I’m sure with a few lessons you could get better with some time.”
Your face lightens with curiosity, “You think you could help me with that?”
“I’m afraid I can’t, Hansi wants to see me to test the new thunder spears with them, but I know someone who could help, Armin. Maybe he isn’t as strong as I am but I guarantee you that he knows how to fight, and much more than you think, and I know that you are pretty close...”.
Your cheeks start to heaten up at the last few words she lets out. It was true. Armin and yourself were getting closer each time the two of you could see each other, starting to know the other one like the back of the hand.
You seems to consider her offer when you voices to her, “That would be great but I don’t want to disturb him..Maybe he has other stuffs to do...”
When Mikasa sees your hesitance, she immediately says, “Listen, he’s over there, why won’t you ask him right now? You have nothing to lose.”
She was right. You had to get better at melee combat, there will be soon enough another very important mission for Paradis, you couldn’t lose the chance to gain necessary skills, and, maybe...Maybe you wanted to get even closer to the blond boy.
He was always nice to you, patient and attentive. These past few years, you have learned about all the countless things he knows. And you had done the same with him. Armin and you were known to be inseparable.
At lunch time, the first one between the two of you to get a spot at a table would wait for the other, keeping a reserved spot close to them.
You've even already slept in the same bed.
When your nightmares would get too real, you did get out of your room to enter the male’s dorm and sneak in Armin’s bed. Waiting for his arms to envelop you, whispering words of reassurance in your ear.
You almost were like a couple, except the fact that any of you didn’t really made THE move. More time passed and more the both of you could feel the tension building between each other. So maybe a little lesson with him couldn’t hurt.
As you approached the blonde boy, you could feel your palms starting to get sweaty, your pulse quickening. And what if he says no? What if it’s just in my head, you thought.
Finally in front of him, you gathered as much courage as you could and hoped that your voice would be as steady as possible.
“Hmm, Armin, can I ask you a question please?”
“Yeah sure darling”
Your body immediately stiffens, Armin loved to call you by little nicknames. The first time he did was out of the blue, you were talking about some book you two loved and he didn’t think much about it, just wanted to call you that.
But when he remarked -and this smartass did notice it far too quickly- that everytime he calls you by one, you become flustered and more shy than usual, he couldn’t get enough of it, getting drunk on the fact that HE was able to earn this cute reaction out of you.
“Can you help me train at hand to hand combat please? I need skills and apparently you could help me with that”, but when his big ocean blue eyes start to look at you, you lose all confidence, “ But if you can’t, I mean it’s okay, I will just, you know-”
He cuts off your incoherent babbling, answering “Of course I can, what kind of friend would I be if I’m not helping you with that? We can start tonight if you want, just after dinner. We will have the field just for us”, he finished, giving you a big innocent smile but the last words he gives you resonate differently in your head. You brush this out of your mind and thank him, agreeing on the time and giving him a short hug.
Tumblr media
“Come on hit me, love”
He was teasing you, and he knows it oh too well, the little smile on his face is a proof of it.
You two were at it for almost one hour of pure exhaustion, well, especially for you. Armin, on the other hand, wasn’t even out of breath.
You were currently letting out heavy breaths, your hands on your knees, trying to gain some more force deep down from your body. You were even beginning to think of a strategy, to at least give it one hit. Armin didn’t let you the chance to think about it, launching forward with his fist to your face, luckily, he was way more easier to dodge than Mikasa, or so you thought.
When you thought that he was aiming for a punch at your pretty face, he was in fact aiming to entwine his arms around you, Annie’s style. He was proud that the strong woman had taught him a trick or two before getting into her ice cocoon. One arm above your left shoulder and the other below your right armpit, he then locked both of his arms behind your head to finally put you on the floor, all the weight of his body on yours. His legs on each side of yours, caging you in.
“I won”, and you swear as this sentence pours out of Armin’s mouth, his pretty blue gaze transforms into a darker one with a raise of a corner of his pinkish lips.
And it is only now that you state the fact that Armin isn’t all innocent, that he totally knows what he’s doing. Everything was meant to prove it to you.
The teasing, the pet names, the proximity, the smile and… his bulge that is starting to grow on top of your thigh.
While you were lost in your thoughts, you didn't notice the way his hand had moved on top of your throat, not choking you but putting just a light pressure on it, letting you know the presence of his hand.
After a few seconds of the both of you looking at each other as if whole galaxies were in your eyes, Armin broke the heavy silence that had settled in. While his face just gets incredibly closer to yours, to the point where you can share Armin’s heavy breath with yours, you hear the distinct but small words.
“Please, kiss me”, and it’s the first time, since the beginning of the training that you can hear him beg. And of course you oblige, you just can’t refuse the invitation of his soft-looking lips, that begins to part just a little, like if he was still begging.
You just have to raise your head a little to press your lips against his, kissing him with so much force you think you could break a muscle, and Armin gives it right back at you, stronger, needier. And you swear that the vulnerable side that you saw from him just mere seconds before has already disappeared, giving life to a confident Armin, one that you can’t seem to have enough.
Pressing his tongue to your lower lips, Armin forces it between your teeth when you take too much time, to his liking, to open your mouth for him. As he begins to explore your wet cavern with his tongue, you can’t help but to let out a small whimper of pleasure, not wanting to hide anything from him.
After putting some distance between your mouths to let you gain some air, he whispers to your ear with a voice that you don’t recognize, a voice that isn't owned by the silent and shy little Armin that you know. A voice darker but still laced with usual calmness and patience that only Armin owns here.
“Do I already have you wrap around my finger, like an obedient little thing?”
And there was again the sweet little smile he wore oh too well, laced with mischief.
You don’t have the time to answer anything, as the hand on your throat starts to trail down on your breasts, tummy and then stop between your thighs, fiddling with the waistband of your pants.
“Can I, pretty girl?”, and you quickly nod at his question, without even thinking twice at the demand, both of you wanted this moment to happen for so long, too long to even remember when was the first time that your feelings started to grow for the blonde boy in front of you.
His cold hands reach directly into your panties, not losing any time by removing your pants, just wanting to feel you around his fingers as soon as possible.
Armin couldn’t wait any longer, how long has he been waiting to do that? How many times did he touch himself to the thought of you? How many times did he look at you like there was not tomorrow? He wanted to give you as much pleasure as he could ever give to you.
His fingers started to dive into your folds, feeling your wetness slide between his fingers with ease, letting out a little laugh, Armin voices out to you, “I had no idea I could make you that wet like this”, he closes the gap between you to whisper against your trembling lips, “And without even touching you”.
Whines of desperation start to pour out from your lips, making Armin kiss you as hard as he could to silence you, plunging two of his fingers at the same time.
The sudden intrusion makes you arch your back in pleasure, and it’s the only encouragement Armin needs at the moment to thrust his fingers deeper and faster, wanting to see you come undone under him.
As your pleasure starts to build up in a record time, you reach out to grab Armin’s shirt, too lost in pleasure to even speak up, rather letting out some incoherent babbling that seems to be pretty amusing to Armin.
As he adds a third finger to stretch you even more, he states while biting your lips playfully, “Are you gonna cum for me Angel? All over my fingers? I know you can do it, you’re such a good girl. Go on”, as he whispers the last part into your ear, trailing love bites along your neck, it’s the last encouragement that you need to get to your climax.
Letting out a few cry and whines of pleasure, Armin speeds his fingers to help you ride out your orgasm. As he senses your inner walls starting to relax, he withdraws his hand from your pussy and inspect the substance on his fingers to the dim light of the moon. He seems in an inner debate with himself as to decide if he should let you taste yourself on his fingers or do it himself. The debate seems to short out rather quickly as he put his three fingers in his mouth, looking at you with his dark gaze.
He decides not to be too selfish and lower his head to give you one long, messy kiss. And hearing your little moans when you taste yourself on his tongue is the best reward he could ever get.
While he helps you to fasten your pants back in place and put both of you on your feet, you can’t help but notice the bulge he has between his thighs. And you start to feel bad with the fact that you were the only one to get to cum tonight.
When you put your hand on his boner, he put his hand on yours gently, telling you, “What do you think of carrying on this little training session in one of our rooms? Maybe I could help you learn one or two things? Love”, he smiles, a little blush creeping up on his soft cheeks.
Maybe it’s never too late for you to gain the upper hand on Armin.
Maybe.

I panted as I leaned against the wall, we were all in the blimp. My mind was silent and the sounds of everyone talking were muffled as I kept my eyes closed trying to rid the images of all those innocent people dying- all of those Children. I gulped as I shook my head, the screams I heard ringing in my ears on a constant loop- had it stopped or were those screams on the ground I was hearing? Were they from all these years finally piling together instead of echoing in the back of my mind?
“Y/n? Did you hear that?" Sasha called and I let my eyes creak open and looked to the door not seeing anything as Jean began talking, I pushed myself up, making sure to pull my gun out just incase and walked to peak over the ledge when a Gabi rolled over and quickly cocked a gun - eye squinted as she looked down the barrel. I raised my gun at her just as she pulled the trigger, a swift sharp pain flashing through me as the gun fell from my hand. I choked and stubbled back a bit but kept my footing another blur of a figure rolled over the edge and tackled Gabi to the side, screams erupted around me as my comrades ran forward and quickly kicked and punched the kids. I let my gaze fall to my chest and watched the way blood poured out of the little flower of skin that was puffed open and blooming as if it were spring. Chocking back a laugh, I let my head fall back to look at the ceiling; If only it were that easy kiddo I thought thinking of every time I had been injured and how every time I healed. It was a blessing and a curse, being able to live on normally despite being lethally injured yet having no power to save the ones you care for that were falling around you. The thought reminded me of a conversation Eren and I had back all those years ago, the want- no- the need to save every one no matter the cost, that hadn’t aged well in retrospect.
“I-I’m okay, guys seriously. I’ll be ok-”My eyes widened as I turned around my hands beginning to shake at the sight of Sasha on the floor, eyes vacant as she looked off somewhere. When did that happen? I thought as I reached a hand to my back slowly I poked and prodded till I felt my finger pass through where my skin should have been on my back, the pain flickering like sparks lighting a fire but it was nothing compared to the burning in my eyes. “Sasha?" I whispered, ignoring the fatigue attacking my eyes as steam bellowed from my wounds. Connie and Jean were yelling something but it fell on deaf ears as I took hesitant steps towards her When had the screaming stopped? I looked down at her as Jean looked up at me waiting for me to say something, his mouth was opening and the vein on his neck looked like it was ready to burst; I was so close to him yet I couldn’t hear a thing he was saying- It was like he was miles away from me with a hand over his mouth as he shouted. I ignored the pang in my knees as I fell to the floor and gently grabbed Sasha’s cheeks to turn her head so she could look up at us. My knees were getting warmer by the second and I glanced down to see the pool of blood I was resting in - Is that mine? Or is it Sasha’s?   “Sasha this isn’t funny... Get up...Get up now!" I whispered not trusting my own voice to fall on her ears the same way Jean and Connie’s were falling on mine.
“You’re so...Damn loud...”She wheezed eyes still vacant as I quickly moved my hands to push against the hole in her chest, hating the way my fingers slicked with warm blood. “Meat...Is the food...Not here yet?” She asked and I growled angrily putting more pressure on her wound.
“You’re worried about the food? Jean, Connie! Get her up now, We gotta plug this up and stop the bleeding!” I screamed at them as tears flooded down their cheeks, “What are you waiting for? Hurry up!” I whirled on the kids being held by other cadets as they took her away. I shoved through and grabbed Gabi by her throat and lifted her, chokes sputtering as I clamped my hand tightly around her feeling the sick love of feeling each breath she took and each beat of her heart against my fingers.
“Lieutenant!” I heard vaguely from behind me but squeezed tighter, Gabi’s hands reaching up to scratch at my own and leaving little rivets that beaded with blood.
“If she dies, I swear I’ll enjoy every second of chewing on your bones!” I growled in her face watching as she noticed the scars on my cheeks and forehead and as if she finally put it together, her eyes widened and her thrashes seemed to become more violent as she tried to spit out a response.
“Sh-Shifter?” She gargled, blood pooling out of her mouth and mixing with Sasha’s. I pulled her forward and smashed her back, enjoying the soft crunch of her skull against the ship before throwing her to the floor and turning to everyone. “Bring the little bitch to lock up. Him too, He saved her.” I growled spinning on my heel and walking down the hall. They were all with Eren, They needed to know what happened. She couldn’t die on me, she wouldn’t do that to Connie, Jean and I. What a selfish thing to do, to leave us in such a way. I pushed the door open and growled at the sight of the long haired male seated and dressed as one of them, the man that had killed the love of my life, the man that had inadvertently killed my best friend. I noted the way Jean went rigid sand knew he had already told everyone, the way their faces had fallen and looked just as they had when any other one of our comrades had passed - but Sasha hadn’t passed and she wouldn’t. Rage boiled in my belly as Eren kept his eyes trained on the floor, I swiftly avoided Jean and dodged his arm as he reached for me knowing what was running through my mind because I’m sure it ran through his. I swung my fist loving the fiery pain that erupted across my hand as it made contact with Eren's face, his hair that had grown out so much in these years whipping around as he did nothing to defend himself.
“This is your fault! All of this is your fault!” I shouted again as I grabbed his head and slammed it against my knee, the feeling of him not fighting back infuriating me. I wanted him to react, I needed him to show me something! Happiness, Anger, Sadness, fucking anything! Yet there he sat, wiping his nose as a small trickle of blood slid down his smooth skin, pieces of his long hair clinging to the flow. “Fucking fight back!” I cried feeling the tears finally fall down my cheeks.
“Y/n! What is going on- Is that blood? Were you shot too?” I froze with my fist in the air as Hanji asked the question, my breath hitching in my throat. Blinking harshly, I stumbled back and shook my head looking back down to my chest. As if a bucket of iced water was dumped on my head, I quickly spun around and ran out of the room. I ignored the other scouts as I ran and rounded the corners, halls blurring.
~~~~~~~~~~
“What was that all about?” Hanji asked looking between everyone in the room, flashes of a hole in Y/n’s chest flickering in their minds and the way Jean opened his mouth to reply, “The bullet went through y/n and ended up in Sasha.” Eren ignored the way his face throbbed and kept his eyes on the floor, avoiding the looks of everyone in the room. Levi opened his mouth to reply when a piercing scream ripped through the soft hum of the ship's engines. Everyone quickly went on alert and readied their weapons as more screams filled the air, yet when Connie pushed the door open with tears streaming down his cheeks everyone froze.
“Sasha...Is dead.”
~~~~~~~~~
Mikasa and Armin were sobbing around me as I held Sasha close to me ignoring the way her blood bleed through the bandages and soaked my shirt, the hands wrapped around her tightly holding her head to me. My throat burned with screams and wails as tears finally rolled down my cheeks, I didn’t care how long I would be sitting here but I’d sit here as long as it took for her to wake up. She was going to wake up and I was going to give her all the meat she wanted no matter the cost.
“Y/n... It’s time.” Levi whispered as I held Sasha closer and shook my head, tears falling against her cheek, my grip was gonna leave bruises- she was gonna kill me when she woke up to that. Mikasa and Armin were no longer next to me, when had they left? Why would they leave when she was gonna wake up?
“I can’t, I don’t want her to be alone when she wakes up.” I choked, pushing her bangs behind her ear as I rocked her gently back and forth. A gasp escaped Levi and I kept my eyes on her face, I had shifted to her side to use my right arm to hold her back as my left hand was reached up to hold her cheek as I wiped my tears off and the blood spilling from her lips her face.
“She... She’s gone y/n, Her body is cold, she’s not in it anymore.” Levi said crouching down on the other side of me and I froze, No? Sasha was here, I was holding her. If she wasn’t here I couldn’t be holding her. I wasn’t going to listen to this when she was clearly okay, Sasha was okay.
“But... But If I keep holding her I can keep her warm?” My lip wobbled as I finally tore my eyes away from my best friend's face and looked up at Levi, his eyes bubbling with unshed tears something that I had not seen but a number of times. I licked the salt from my lips and looked back down at her, my chest felt like it was caving in with each word he spoke.
Another voice pulled me from my stupor as I glanced up through blurred vision to see Hanji gripping the door frame tightly, “It’s okay y/n, It’s time to let her go.” I gasped at their words and shook my head fiercely baring my teeth as I squeezed my eyes shut in anger. How could they not see it? I could keep her warm and she would be okay? She would be okay.
“Stop saying that! Sasha is perfectly fine! She’s gonna wake up! You’ll see! You’ll all see!” I screamed, squeezing her tighter to me and pushing my forehead against hers “She’s okay, She’ll be okay, She has to be... I can’t do this without her.” I whispered as more sobs wracked through my chest. She was gonna wake up and yell at me for letting a bullet go through me and into her and then I was going to give her any snacks she wanted and then we were going to laugh about this later down the road cracking jokes with Jena and Connie about how we ‘Dodged a bullet.’ I ignored Levi as he stood up and left with Hanji in tow muttering something about giving me space; now alone I started humming again and rocking her back and forth the same way I would when she started having nightmares after her first mission. “You gotta wake up for me okay? Me, Jean, and Connie need you- you know we need you so just wake up for us, alright?” I whispered, rocking her back and forth, my wound was healed but the toll it had taken on my body was enough to make me slump over and pass out at any second, I couldn’t let Sasha wake up to that and scare her.
“Stop it.” I froze at Jeans voice and glanced up to see him and Connie looking down at me, I gulped and shook my head glancing back down to her. “I said stop it.” Jean added a little more forcefully, walking to where I was and tried to pry my hands off of her. No no no if Jean and Connie believed it then it was true, they couldn’t believe that she was actually gone could they?
“I have to keep her warm Jean- Get off of me!” I screamed as he stomped to me and held my biceps tightly and shook me. “She’s gone! Sasha is gone!” I wiped my tears on my shoulder and jerked my shoulders free from his grasp trying my hardest not to jerk Sasha around too hard.
“She isn’t! She’s right here, she's just sleeping!” I barked, baring my teeth at Jean who straightened up and shook his head, a tear slid down his cheek as he covered his mouth and looked at me with wide eyes. Connie stepped forward coming to crouch down next to me, I got ready to snap at him when he reached over and gently wiped the blood coming out of her mouth away.
“Pea...Sasha would want you to rest, I’ll wake you up the moment she wakes up okay?” I looked at Connie and felt my eyelids droop at his words. He was right but I knew what he meant, I knew he was trying to ease me into the thought that Sasha wasn’t going to wake up. I sniffled, I had to let go. I had to let her go.
“She’s not gonna wake up is she?” I whispered feeling a new fresh wave of tears stab at my eyes, I clenched my teeth and squeezed my eyes shut as my lungs stuttered for air. Jean came up behind me and sat down encasing me between his thighs as I scooted back to rest against him- Sasha still held tightly in my grasp as I kept my forehead pressed against hers, his chest shaking with sobs as he wrapped his arms around me and pressed his face against my back. Connie laid his head on my shoulder and the silence was enough of an answer.
“Five more minutes? Please just five more minutes” I cried, pressing my cheek to Sasha's one last time as I heard Connie mutter a small ‘Five more minutes.’

Close Enough? (Kuvira x Reader)
This is a Kuvira imagine, reader and Kuvira are not established. K? Also, this will be sad :D questionable ending. if you want more, ask and you shall receive <3
TW: blood, spoilers for LOK Season 4  WC: 2620
Kuvira’s reign across the Earth kingdom had started to slow as she was met with resistance from Zaofu and the Avatar. Dealing with them had been easy, beating Korra had been easier, and now she was on her way to Republic City, to rightfully claim the district as official property of the Earth Kingdom.
Kuvira felt powerful having so many people support her, especially when it came to her. Y/n had been there at the beginning, supporting Kuvira and boosting her esteem so much so, Kuvira’s own motivation took the step forward to claim the Earth Kingdom. Locked eyes, lingering touches, shivering shoulders made up the tension between the two; with the passion of war, it made it all that more bitter sweet. So why did Kuvira feel this way? She knew that y/n was loyal, perhaps the most loyal of them all, and yet the little voice in her head was screaming that something, somewhere, someone was going to betray her. Zhu Li was kind of a given but y/n? Trusting, beautiful, y/n?
Kuvira’s relationship with Baatar, in her eyes, was political: losing him would be surprising, considering how strong his feelings were against his own mother. Could he be persuaded? Hopefully not, but yet here we are.
Kuvira’s hands were formed into fists as she listened to his pleading. Leave this? Now? We are so close, why would I give up now? Why would I when the last piece of the puzzle is in my hands?
Aiming the spirit weapon towards his location was easy. Pulling the trigger was even easier. But the voice in her head was now a full roar, claiming that no one was loyal, no one was on her side. So as the war machine rebounded from the shot it took, Kuvira straightened her shoulders and looked to her left. Sitting in one of the command chairs, was y/n. Back straight, hair gleaming, Kuvira wanted to swallow her whole, wanted to take her existence and keep it to herself. Y/n might have been lying this entire time, and Kuvira didn’t want to lose her to the avatar. That is one thing she couldn’t stand for, losing this war was not an option and Kuvira would do anything to reach her goal.
“Y/n.”
Snapping her head towards Kuvira, she stood and walked over, placing herself to the left of the platform. Looking her in the eyes, Kuvira stood even taller and her plan was falling into place. This will be easy.
“Come with me for a moment.”
Kuvira commanded the remaining soldiers to stay in their positions and alert her if there are any changes. Knowing the efficiency of the spirit weapon, she doubted that the avatar would have survived the latest shot.
Stepping off of the platform, Kuvira and y/n walked down into the belly of the weapon, where the roar of the machine made the thundering in her heart a little lighter. They came to a stopping point and y/n’s shoulders relaxed. It was just the two of them, perhaps this was a pre-game to victory? Kuvira was faced away from y/n and she could see where the muscle tensed in the uniform that Kuvira wore. Where the metal framed her shoulders and where it flared at her waist and constricted at her knees. She wondered how long it would take her to map every freckle that Kuvira had. Not knowing how many, she wondered if she would have the opportunity to ever count. Is this going to be it? She snapped her eyes back up when Kuvira turned around, crowding her space.
“It’s happening. The end is near and victory will be ours,” Kuvira murmured.
Their eyes were locked and their breaths were shared. How y/n craved to get closer.
“You’ve done wonderfully, I can’t imagine any other trying to accomplish what you have,” y/n whispered.
Kuvira smirked, “Oh? Tell me, y/n, what have I accomplished?”
Y/n shivered, hearing her name come from her lips was a taste of heaven that she wanted every drop of. She wanted more, she craved more, so she easily answered, if only to savor every drop.
“Conquering the city-states, making the lords bow to you, creating a super weapon that is extremely effective, and should I mention the fact that you won against Korra?”
Toe to toe, their noses almost touched, their breaths were clouding each other and y/n jumped at the feeling of gloved hands fiddling with her own. Oh. Oh Oh-
“I could stand to hear more, if you’ll humor me,” Kuvira whispered.
Y/n took the jump and linked her left hand around Kuvira’s, and she looked her straight in the eyes. She could smell the metal and lavender that left Kuvira and y/n thought she would erupt.
“Taking apart Zaofu to create something for yourself in a direct response to Su, you are incredibly powerful and what I wouldn’t do-”
Kuvira brought her face to y/n and latched herself to her lips. Her right hand clutched the back of her neck and she squeezed, playing with the hairs that rested there. Her left hand traveled from y/n’s hands to her lower back, pulling y/n forward.
Y/n felt conquered and completed and finished, any word you could think of, her brain had fried with the machine and her insides turned to jelly. Being placed in Kuvira’s arms and kissing her was something that Y/n yearned for. Her center throbbed and she looped her arms around Kuvira’s neck. She wanted all that Kuvira could give her. Even if Kuvira left her now to take out an entire city, Y/n could live with that, her spark of life had turned into an inferno and had burned her inside out. She wanted to share that fire with Kuvira and as if the devil had knocked on her door, Kuvira licked her bottom lip and Y/n was so easy. She would let Kuvira do whatever she pleased, even right here on the machinery floor. She was entranced by the whole essence of Kuvira. She whimpered when her lip was bitten and she sighed when Kuvira seemed to ravage her being. Closer- She needed to be closer-
Pain.
Wha-
What is that?
Heat radiated from her side, what is-
Y/n’s eyes snapped open and she pulled herself from Kuvira. Kuvira had a grimace on her face, her eyebrows drawn together and lips tightened into a line.
Y/n’s breath stuttered and she looked down, red was encompassing her right side. She had been- Kuvira?- Why would she? Kuvira stabbed her? What?
Kuvira metal bended the weapon back into her sleeve and caught Y/n as she started to get dizzy. She lowered her to the grated ground as Y/n clutched her jacket, hissing in pain. Lips red, cheeks flushed, your eyes are so pretty like this..  Kuvira held y/n’s head in her lap as blood dripped from her wound. Pity, how distraught you look. The voice claimed victory and screamed in her head. See? How easy? The avatar will never touch her and the city will be yours. Just flatten the republic and you’re as good as gold.
But it wasn’t easy. Kuvira’s eyes watered but never flushed.
“I had to, for you, for me. I have to finish this now, I hope you understand.”
Kuvira placed her head gently on the ground, taking advantage of y/n’s stunned silence. Wiping her eyes, she left y/n there and composed herself to rejoin the bridge. Scaring the officers on deck, she ordered them to continue, they had a city to recapture.
Then a hummingbird got too close to the sun.
Her chance at freedom was disabled.
And the avatar, as always, brought balance to the world.
Her whole body hurt.
It would start as a dull throb and then crescendo into a sharp point that radiated from her right side. Y/n was stunned, when she said that she would let Kuvira take over the world, she didn’t really expect to be a martyr. But did she really believe in Kuvira still? The blood that was staining her uniform said no, but the stuttering of her heart and the tears on her face said otherwise. She was gonna die in the center of destruction, how fitting. At least it was warm. . . She closed her eyes to the rhythm of a stepping behemoth and took a breath, knowing her fate was just the same as Baatar. They were both foolish, loving someone who couldn’t feel anything and yet thinking, I’m different. I can change her, she will love me, right?
Look how that turned out.
A shrill screech interrupted y/n’s pity party and she opened her eyes to see Su and Lin Beifong. Their determined eyes meeting hers. At that moment, she was made priority number two; number one being the destruction of the spirit weapon. Once the Beifong sisters had wreaked havoc with their metal bending, Lin dropped down to y/n. Gently placing her arms around her shoulders and her knees, Lin rejoined Su. The trio was then tossed around the metal tavern surrounding them before they tethered themselves to the wall. When the spirit weapon finally descended and crashed to the ground, y/n had passed out from blood loss. Stepping out from the carnage, the sisters stopped the bleeding enough that it wouldn’t cause a mortal end. Once they were satisfied with her steadying heartbeat they placed her with the other wounded. Then, they turned to finish the war.
. . .
Y/n had heard that Kuvira surrendered after she witnessed the power of the one and only avatar. To be honest, y/n was shaken to her core after finding out that Korra created another spirit portal. The avatar was so powerful- she created a rip in space and caused two different worlds to mesh together in a brand new location? Holy Avatar did y/n regret being on the wrong side.
Repercussions were being made of course. Baatar Jr was to spend life in house arrest for his involvement in the spirit weapon. After being seen by water benders, y/n’s trial was next, and she entered the courtroom in a wheel-chair. Although the wound didn’t sever any major organs, it was a major stress to the body and her back muscles were cut clean through so major movements weren’t recommended. That wasn’t the worst of it.
The hurt that clouded her heart had leaked to her eyes and her brain and she felt numb. Her brain kept going in a loop, kuvira’s eyes, blood, floor, kuvira’s eyes, blood, floor,- y/n was stuck in a mental carousel that try as she might she couldn’t get off of. She could sense the person behind her who was pushing the chair and when she looked up, she could see the council in all their respective colors and robes. She stopped moving and two officers stepped up behind her. But she didn’t try to escape. What was the point? She would take the punishment and move on. What about kuvira, don’t you wanna know why? Did it matter? Did the heat spread to her too? Move on. move on. move on?
The shuffling of papers interrupted the parade of self-pity that y/n seemed to be the mayor of and she dragged her eyes away from her fiddling hands to look up. Korra was there too. Should y/n bow? Korra saved everyone’s lives and without her-
“-without knowing the direct involvement of the individual before us how can we decide her fate?”
“She didn’t help with the weapon? What about the seizing of the city states? Anything?”
“Baatars testimony proves negative on the first but other witnesses say that she is seen on several occasions with Kuvira herself.”
y/n flinched. Pain pain pain
“Well, Beifong, your jurisdiction houses the inmates, what say you?” The woman in question sighed and y/n wished she could sigh too without being condescending. Jail or home? Not that hard of a question.
“Community service. Either with the water benders or the rehabilitation of the city. I don’t want this one near my jail.”
. . .What the hell is that supposed to mean? Is she not good enough for jail? For Beifong’s jail? Rude.
“Then it’s settled. Y/n L/n, you are hereby sentenced to 25 years of community service, provided by the council before you and supervised by the United Republic of Nations. Dismissed.”
Y/n nodded and bowed her head to show respect to the leaders that handed her fate to her. Much better than house arrest.
. . .
Y/n heard later that Kuvira was given a second chance, because Korra saw something in her that she saw in herself. Kuvira was sent to Zaofu to live out her house arrest with her adoptive family. Baatar is there too? Is she allowed to ask? Did he give her a second chance? Would y/n? Y/n was stationed near the infrastructure creation center in the city. She was there to help rebuild. Lin was her only visitor. Y/n’s family was disgraced that she chose the wrong side and she didn’t have any friends besides Kuvira, who happened to be a couple flying bison away. Lin would ask her how her wound was doing and Y/n would tell her. Then Lin would end the visit by insulting y/n’s bending and then she’d leave. It was nice. Y/n had a feeling that Lin felt sorry for her, did she know that y/n was betrayed by the one she thought she loved? Did Lin know that the inferno that raged within her dwindled to a flicker of heat? Sometimes it seemed that way when the silence got too loud but then Lin would go back to insulting her. She needed that routine. She probably would have been lost without it.
Y/n was back to moving again and on a nice, sunny day in republic city; she was just about to finish the base to an apartment complex with the other volunteers (If you want to call them that, y/n faintly recognized some of the earth benders from Kuvira’s forces). When Korra had pulled up near the site on her polar bear dog. Jumping off of the animal, Korra waited until the supervisor started talking to her. After several beats, the supervisor nodded and shouted across the field, summoning y/n towards him.
Meeting them on the edge, y/n respectfully greeted them both before questioning the avatar’s presence.
She sighed, “Many of the soldiers lived in Zaofu before the war, you were one of them. The metal domes are in grave need of assistance and since you are tasked with community service, it seems fitting that you return there.” “Is that all? I thought this was supposed to be a punishment? Wouldn’t going back home be a little too comfortable for me?” Not if Kuvira’s there, laughing with her eyes closed, hair frizzy from the day, freckles winking in the sunshine.
“Su requested it. Said, ‘that your greatest potential was misplaced with love that had nowhere to go’” Korra sighed.
Y/n felt like she got slapped in the face by the avatar. That would’ve been better. Of course Su knew y/n, she practically raised the child. Su saw the wandering eyes and the yearning sighs, she wasn’t stupid.
And yet, here she was, extending a hand of forgiveness, a hand withered by betrayal, a feeling that y/n knew quite well.
Should she take it?

Burden of the Survivors- Chapter Two
Tumblr media
Burden of the Survivors
Pairing: Din Djarin x fem!reader Rating: T (at the moment- subject to change) Warnings: swearing, canon-typical violence *no spoilers- takes place in Season 1 timeline* Summary: Mando works alone- except for when the absolutely can’t. There are few people Din trusts – trusts as in he doesn’t expect a viroblade in the back the second he’s turned around. She’s one of them. Just as cautious and nearly as tight lipped about her past as he is, Din doesn’t mind her around too much. A/N: My inspiration is a fickle thing, I’ve been swinging back and forth between Shadows and BotS for a few weeks now. Finally got enough to sit down and finish this chapter, so cheers to that.
[Masterlist] [Chapter One] [Chapter Two] [Chapter Three] Cross-posted to AO3
Chapter Two
When Vero found you, you were nothing but a pickpocket on the lower-level streets of Coruscant-the byproduct of the horrors of the Clone Wars and the rise of the Empire. You were nearing sixteen and beginning to lose your touch. When you were younger-and smaller-it was easier to weave through crowds and avoid attention. Puberty and a growth spurt made it much more difficult for the teenage you to blend in. You made it work, you had to if you wanted to get by, but it took twice as much work to get folks to look the other way. Ever observant Vero caught on quick but said you had potential, just not as a street thief. The alabaster skinned theelin approached you with a job, a job that paid more than you could scrounge up in two weeks selling your stolen treasures. All you had to do was deliver a small parcel to a pilot friend of his at a docking station a few levels up without getting caught by the city guard before the pilot was scheduled to leave in two hours. It seemed easy enough and you desperately needed the credits. The last thing on your mind was what was in the package you carried. You knew better than to stick your nose where it did not belong, especially when you were getting paid. That decision changed your life.
The job was a test to see if you were capable and trustworthy enough to bring on for a real job as a runner, and you passed with flying colors. Vero took you under his wing and had you running smuggled goods and other products all over Coruscant. It was a reckless job, you knew that-even as a child-but it kept a roof over your head and food in your belly at a time in your life when you had forgotten what that was like. You were one of many street kids on Coruscant that had to turn to life in the underworld to get by, but you thank the Maker you ended up with the one crew on Coruscant that had some small sense of morals.
Vero worked for Shan Tillis, who had grown up on the streets of Corellia himself. Shan was sympathetic, smuggling had been his way out of the gutter, and he offered you that same opportunity. It had not taken long for Shan and the others to realize you were too smart and too quick on your feet to just move goods, that you and your brain could be used elsewhere. So, they taught you. Kom and Redarr, Shan’s lead muscle heads, taught you how to fight and how to fight dirty. Sola bought you your first proper viroblade (you’d nicked one years ago but it was made for hands much larger than yours so you’d always been rather clumsy with it) and taught you every trick in the book she knew, every weak spot on the body, how to wound but not kill and where to bleed someone out the fastest. Her lessons were always your favorite. Tala taught you how to pilot every kind of ship you could get your hands on, and how to hotwire a landspeeder- Vero was not thrilled when he discovered that lesson had been performed on his precious baby.
Everything that made you into the infamous bounty hunter you were now had been taught to you by that crew. Every cautious tick had been drilled into you by Kom and Vero. Redarr had schooled you on blasters, made you practice in-between jobs on how to take them apart and put them back together with your eyes closed. Zena taught you how to read people and how to know when a deal was about to go south.
Shan imparted you with the most practical wisdom of them all. How to know when you’re fucked.
This job seems pretty fucked to you.
The Mandalorian is silent as the two of you settle on the ridge above the compound. Scope out, he looks over the cluster of buildings. Even from a distance you’ve already counted ten nikto out and about, and you can safely assume they’re all heavily armed.
You tighten the various straps and holsters on your person before slipping your tactical mask into place. The contraption covers the lower half of your face and has always been more for the intimidation factor than much else. Redarr had gifted it to you all those years ago as more of joke than practical gear but you’d grown attached. Between the mask and its voice modulator, your hood and dark, nondescript clothes you could remained relatively anonymous when you wanted to, which was most of the time.
“If we come along the east side I think I can make it up to the roof without being seen, provide you with a little more cover.” You did always prefer the higher ground.
Mando nods, continuing to scan the scene, “there’s two on the northwest corner you’ll have to manage.”
Your scoff crackles through the modulator, “they won’t be an issue.”
He grunts before his head snaps back towards the edge of the compound, “shit. Bounty droid.”
“You’ve got to be kidding me.” You whip out your own scope, focusing in on where Mando was watching. Sure enough, you spot an IG unit bounty droid making its way up to the group of nikto lingering outside.
“Subparagraph 16 of the Bondsman Guild Protocol Waiver compels you to immediately produce said asset.”
You roll your eyes as the shooting starts. Droids had to have figured out by now it was never that easy. If it was, anyone with a blaster could join the guild.
The droid has a handle on the gunfight, but you groan as you watch the compound go into lockdown, all the blast doors slam shut before the last shot is fired.
“Droids.” Mando snaps as he stands, one hand clenched around the hilt of a blaster.
You jump up, following behind him. Again, with the acting first, thinking second.
As you approach the encampment Mando jerks his head up, “you take the topside.”
“Gladly.”
You scramble up the side of the building with relative ease, there are plenty of odd pipes and vents that make convenient grips as you haul yourself and up over the lip of the roof. When the droid had ruined any chance at a surprise attack, you’d lost sight of the two guards on the roof. You keep your rifle aimed in their last known direction as you settle onto your stomach, ready to cover Mando as needed.
“Subparagraph 16 of the Bondsman Guild Protocol Waiver compels you to immediately produce said asset,” the droid repeats.
Maker they really have no learning curve.
“IG unit! Stand down!”
The bounty droid has split second reaction times, shooting at what you can safely assume is Mando when he groans from somewhere down below and out of view. “We’re in the Guild!”
“So I suggest you stand down before you take a bolt to the brains, droid.”
Your quip draws the droid’s attention to your vantage point on the roof.
“You are Guild members? I thought I was the only one on assignment.”
“That makes two of us,” Mando grumbles. “So much for the element of surprise.”
That was a kriffing understatement.
“Sadly, I must ask for your fob. I have already issued the writ of seizure. The bounty is mine.”
“Unless I’m mistaken, you are, as of yet, empty-handed.”
“This is true.”
You have to restrain your eye rolling to keep monitoring the roofline.
“I have a suggestion.”
“Proceed.”
“We split the reward.”
How many people was he going to offer to share your credits with? This was beginning to get out of hand.
“This is acceptable.”
Well considering how much Mando hated droid he at least knew how to manage them considerably well.
“Great. Now let’s regroup, out of harm’s way, and form a plan.”
You were sorely doubting that the droid was capable of forming a decent plan or following whatever you and Mando came up with, but it was worth a shot considering the situation had become even more fucked thanks to him.
“I will of course receive the reputation merits associated with the mission.”
“Is this really the time?” You shout down at the pair.
Mando seems to have the same idea, “can we talk about this later?”
“I require an answer if I am to proceed-”
An orange head pops into view on the roof across from you, “we’ve got company!”
The nikto takes a shot at the droid, “oh, no. Alert. Alert. Alert.”
Whole lot of help this one was. You land a headshot just as the doors of the compound slide open, more soldiers swarming out, blasters drawn.
“Let’s go!” Mando dives for cover and the droid follows after.
Your spot affords you a decent line of sight into the courtyard but there’s more of them then you thought there would be out in the middle of nowhere guarding who knows what you were after. It takes you picking off three of them before they realize you’re shooting at them from above. There’s a flurry of shouting and pointing in your direction and Mando makes a run for the main set of blast doors at the back of the courtyard. You were going to have friends on the roof soon. Lucky you.
Rolling back you jump to your feet, taking a couple pot shots into the courtyard as you make for the far end of the roof. The droid is a decent shot, covering Mando’s mad dash while you focus on the nikto popping up across the roof. One hauls himself over the edge to your left, making a swipe at yours leg with his blaster. The loud crunch of your boot to his skull cuts through the blaster fire around you as the body falls into courtyard. Gross. Two more appear out of thin air, their shots barely missing your head. Losing your blaster you duck and roll, knocking both over as you draw a viroblade from your thigh holster. Neither have time to react before you’re on them, each taking one clean slice to the neck.
Mando and the IG unit have made it to the main door as you duck behind some ventilation equipment at the northwest corner of the building. You appear to have control of the roof for now, but you can see the soldiers in the courtyard beginning to regroup. They have Mando and the bounty droid pinned. Shit. You can hear Mando’s modulated shouts from below but you can’t quite make out what he’s going on about. Hopefully he’s chewing out the dumbass droid who go you into this mess.
The IG unit steps out again, laying out a spread of blaster fire that doesn’t seem to do much. The nikto have plenty of coverage behind debris and the series of pillars lining the courtyard. Their numbers also seem to be steadily growing. Just how many of them were set up out here? Who needed this many bodyguards? It was nearly a small army. The IG unit cannot keep up with the incoming blaster fire, even with your help from above.
Your stomach drops as you catch sight of another incoming nikto on a hover blaster at the encampment entrance. You were all fucked. All you can do is hope Mando’s found good cover down there as you drop to your stomach, bracing behind the ventilation unit. The nikto lets it rip, covering the area with a spray of bolts. Most sound like they’re striking below you, focused on where you assume Mando and the droid are hiding.
Then as suddenly as it started the gun stops. Poking your head out you watch as the nikto is flung backwards and Mando yanks the blaster to him. You thank the Maker for whatever good fortune he earned for that to work. It takes only moments for Mando to swing the blaster around and mow down the rest of the small army.
“Well done,” the IG unit cuts through the eerie silence following the blaster fire. “I will disengage self-destruct initiative.”
“Wait, you guys can self-destruct?” Seemed a bit counterintuitive.
Mando’s visor snaps to where you’re hanging over the edge of the roof, looking for a spot to climb down. He wordlessly offers you a hand and you toss your pack and blaster down to him. Its not too high up so you simply ease over the edge and drop to the ground, ignoring the harsh jolt to your knees.
“Manufactures protocol dictates I cannot be captured; thus I have a self-destruct initiative.”
So the droid could have killed you all if had deemed the situation too risky. Great. You’re glad you hadn’t been aware of that during the shootout.
Mando helps the droid back to its feet. “You know, you’re not so bad. For a droid.”
Had hell frozen over? Mando was as droid adverse as they got, and now he was complimenting one? The universe must be ending.
“Agreed.”
“That blaster hit looks nasty. You okay?”
“Running a quick diagnostic… it has missed my central wiring harness.”
“Is that good?”
“Yes.”
Mando glances back to you, “good?”
“Never better,” you grin. This could have gone significantly worse, so you had no room to complain at the moment.
“Well, now we just need to get the door open.”
The way Mando’s helmet whips back to the large blaster makes you groan. There were easier, less messy ways to go about things. You don’t attempt to talk the hunter out of it, he most likely wouldn’t listen to you anyways. It almost looks like he has fun shooting out the blast door until in collapses inwards.
You all take tentative steps inside the compound. One head appears around a far corner to the right. Mando’s quick draw has him downed before anyone blinks. “Anyone else?”
As if any survivors were going to offer themselves up to be shot.
“I’ll clear the west side,” you offer and Mando nods before heading off with the bounty droid in the opposite direction.
An unnerving silence settles over you as you stalk down the halls of the mysterious compound. The small army camped here had been prepared and well supplied. There are crates upon crates of food stuffs, weapons and ammunition. Some places are nearly packed floor to ceiling with it. What exactly was going on out here? How did they get all this out here in the middle of nowhere?
You worry your necklace pendant with one hand, an unconscious gesture you have yet to train yourself out of. Something was not right about this job, or at least more than normal. Over the years your own morals had morphed to accommodate your line of work. You worked for the guild and were often paid by unsavory individuals, but that was what you did to survive, and you refused to let that get to you. This however was picking at an old wound, long forgotten.
Another shot echoes through the compound and you find yourself racing back towards Mando and the droid, blaster held at the ready. Swinging around a corner you find Mando standing over a small floating pod, the bounty droid smoking out of its “head” on the floor. Maybe he didn’t want to split the bounty after all.
“Mando?” Your voice seems to cut through whatever trance the hunter was under, head snapping back towards you. “What happened?”
His shoulders drop, the tension seeming to fall away at your appearance. “He was going to kill the bounty.”
“I thought you said the client specified they wanted it alive if at all possible.”
Mando nods, “they did say that.”
That gnawing sense of dreads returns. Stepping up next to Mando you glance down into the pod-which appears to be functioning as some kind of traveling pram-and are greeted with wide dark eyes and pointy green ears.
Oh Maker no…

billy hargrove | heaven-sent | part five
masterlist | series | part four
words: 2k+
warnings: st2 spoilers, violence, hints towards domestic abuse, drinking, smoking, swearing, arguing
disclaimer: i in no way support the actions of billy. i just find his character interesting and want to explore it more with my oc. takes place from season 2. OC is hopper’s daughter. first part taken from the ‘will the wise’ ep.
summary:  she’s an angel. he may as well be the devil. one would not exist without the other.
Frances hears her father's shouts before the cabin is even in view. Without thinking twice, she sets off in a run, twigs snapping beneath her feet as she dodges the trip wire. She clutches her camera firmly in her hands to prevent it slapping against her stomach, wind rushing past her as she speeds up.
"You're like Papa!" she hears El scream as she gets closer, and dread causes her heart to drop. She knows her father, knows he won't take well to a comment like that. She can't hear her father's reply, only El shouting a few moments later, "I hate you!"
"... I'm not too crazy about you, either!" Hopper responds.
"Shit," Frances mutters, slowing down to catch her breath. She closes her eyes and inhales, blocking the screams out for a moment before she finally enters the cabin. Neither Hopper nor El notice her despite the creak of the wooden door, too busy screaming at one another.
"Brat," Hopper says, throwing a book at El. El raises a hand to stop it, suspending it in mid-air as blood trickles from her nose. She tosses it back at him forcefully, hitting him in the stomach.
"Hey!" he exclaims in bewilderment, his eyes wide as he looks at El.
"Stop it!" Frances interrupts, finally gaining their attention as she stands between the two of them, her hands held up in caution. "What the hell is going on?"
El ignores her, marching off. Hopper trails behind her, passing Frances without acknowledgement. "Don't you dare walk away from me, kid."
The couch is shoved into his shin by an invisible force and he trips. "Hey!"
The last Frances sees of El before she slams her door shut without touching it is her eyes blazing with anger. "El!" Frances pleads, but it's too late.
"Open the damn door!" Hopper yells, banging on the wood forcefully. "You wanna go out in the world? You better grow up. Grow the hell up!"
A scream erupts from the bedroom, and without warning, the window panes shatter in their frames, shards of glass flying into the cabin. Frances is unable to duck in time and a small piece of glass scratches her cheek. She barely feels the sting, though she can feel the dampness as blood begins to ooze from the wound, and presses her hand to her face in shock. Hopper curses, kicking the wall with his heavy boot before running his hands over his face.
"What the hell happened?" Frances questions when she is able to form a coherent sentence.
"The damn kid went to see Mike today," Hopper sighed, his eyes softening when he sees that Frances is hurt. "Jesus Christ, are you alright?" He's on her in a second, pulling her hands away from the cut so that he can inspect it.
"I'm fine. It's just a scratch." She struggles out of his grip, glass crunching beneath her shoes as she heads to the kitchen and grabs a towel to stop the bleeding. "Look, I know you're just looking out for her, but you need to go easy on her. She's just a kid, and she can't see her friends. Imagine how that must feel."
"Did you miss the part where she blew out the fuckin' windows?" He pointed to the now empty frames dramatically. "What if that glass had hit your eye?"
"It didn't," Frances sighs. "I'll talk to her, okay?"
"No," he shakes his head, rubbing his stubbly chin in frustration. "Let her cool down first. She's ... dangerous."
"She's not dangerous," Frances replies. "She's afraid and alone. She doesn't understand that you're keeping her safe. Just let me try."
Hopper motions to the door dismissively. "Fine, you think you can handle her, Mary Poppins? Be my guest."
Frances treads back to El's door, knocking gently. "El, it's just me," she calls when the door doesn't budge. "I understand why you're mad and afraid. Why don't we talk about it?"
"Go away," El demands after a moment, her voice muffled.
"El, please—"
"Go. Away!"
There's enough power in El's voice for Frances to know that she isn't helping matters and if she pushes her anymore, the cabin might come down in a heap of ash and rubble. She turns to her father, disappointment in her eyes. He shrugs, planting himself on the couch despite the fact that it's no longer in its usual spot. "I told you. She's impossible."
"Cut her some slack. She's been through a lot."
"Yeah, well, haven't we all?" he huffs, sadness flickering over his features. By the time he looks up again, it's gone. "Listen, I'll handle this. You're better off staying in the trailer tonight."
"You sure? I don't mind staying."
"No. You don't need to deal with this. Go home."
Frances nods, placing a hand on her father's shoulder as he puts his head in his hands. "You're doing your best. I know this isn't easy."
He places his hand over hers, rubbing her hand with the pad of his thumb. "Thanks, kid."
She flashes one last, solemn look at the door before making a move to go. Her father's voice stops her. "Hey, Fran. You okay? You look a little pale." He's turned around in his chair, his blue eyes flooding with concern. His cheeks are flushed with the remnants of his rage.
"Yeah," she lies. "Just tired, I guess."
"Look, I know I haven't been all that available recently and we haven't spent much time together. That doesn't mean you can't talk to me. I'm still your old man. I still care about you more than anything else. You know that, don't you?"
"I know that, Dad." She hesitates, worrying at her lip as he waits expectantly. "Jonathan and I broke up."
"Sweetie—"
"No, it's okay. It was a long time coming," she says quickly. "You sure you don't want me to try again with El?"
He looks at Fran and then at El's closed door.
"No. Better give her some space tonight. Go home, kid. Get some rest. Enjoy the peace."
* * *
Frances doesn't head home right away, instead following the overgrown trail to the ravine. She takes a few pictures as she goes, finding solace in the click of her camera, the repetitive action of winding back the film. Shadows loiter in her peripheral vision as the sun begins to set, and she tries to ignore them, ignore the feeling of something encroaching in on her. She's relieved when she gets to the open road, but only for a moment. For the second time this week, she has company. Billy leans against the hood of his car, his back turned towards her as he watches the sun go down. She can just make out the orange glow of a cigarette in his mouth.
Instinctively, her hands find her camera and she captures the view, the soft silhouette of the golden-tinged boy in front of the bleeding, pink sky. The sound of her shutter clicking alerts him of her presence, and she smiles guiltily at being caught. "You mind?"
He shrugs, smirking, though it doesn't quite meet his eyes. "I always knew I was your muse."
She shakes her head at his arrogance, deciding to play along as she crosses the road and meets him by his car. "Well, it's only right since you got it back for me."
He doesn't react, taking a drag of his cigarette. His eyes are focused on the view in front of him. Frances frowns as she realises that they're gleaming with moisture and red-rimmed as though he's been crying. His long, thick eyelashes are moist, too, against the fading sunlight, his lips pink and raw as though he's been chewing them. Atop his cheekbone sits a purple bruise that she knows wasn't there earlier.
"Are you alright?" she questions carefully. His shirt is buttoned up wrong, the cuffs of his denim jacket unrolled and covering half of his hands. His knuckles aren't bruised – if he was hit, it was one-sided.
"Peachy," he responds, smoke rolling from his mouth. He offers her a cigarette, looking at her for the first time and faltering. She's forgotten the cut on her own cheek, but she feels the sting of it now as if for the first time. "Are you?"
"Peachy," she repeats, a soft smile on her lips. "No, thanks," she says to the cigarette.
Billy shuffles down slightly so that there's room for Frances on the hood. She leans onto it, glad to take the weight off her feet, her eyes watering against the cold breeze.
"You come up here a lot?" he asks, words muffled by the cigarette. Up close, she can smell a slight hint of alcohol on his breath and realises that there's a bottle of whisky planted on the other side of him. He's not drunk, though, not yet.
"Best place to watch the sunset," she shrugs. "I used to think of this place as my little secret. Guess I'm gonna have to find somewhere else now."
"My company that bad?" His voice is hoarse, as though he's been shouting. Frances can't help but look at him again with concern, and he can't help but refuse to return her gaze.
"Billy, what happened?" she whispers delicately.
"Nothin' you need to concern yourself with, angel. Why? You worried?"
"Wouldn't go that far."
"Please," he grins, "it's cute."
"Shut up," she scoffs, pulling her jacket closer to her torso as the wind picks up again. The valley below is dotted with amber and gold leaves that gleam against the sunset. The dead leaves blow around them, rustling. She takes a deep breath in, her soul soothed for the first time in days. She thinks that perhaps he feels it, too, because for a while neither of them say a word, and neither of them need to. The silence is like a blanket, comforting and warm, safe.
Of course, Billy is the one to break it as he stubs out his cigarette with his boot and shoves his hands into his pockets. "So, you talk to your boyfriend yet?"
"Nope," she sighs. "He's too busy with Nancy."
"Dick," he curses, shaking his head. His tangled, blonde curls ruffle as he does.
"Yeah."
"How long were the two a' you together?"
She exhales, ignoring the lump in her throat. "Two years. Before that we were best friends."
His eyebrows arch in surprise. "Jesus."
"It's not just his fault. I can't pretend like he's a terrible person for doing this to me," she says, and this time she's the one who is unable to meet Billy's eyes. "I've been distant. I basically pushed him right into her. If you don't give a guy what he wants, he's gonna find it somewhere else, right?"
"Doesn't matter what you did, Fran." It's the first time he's called her that, and she likes the way her shortened name rolls on his tongue like honey. "Doesn't give him an excuse to chase after another girl and leave you drunk at a party."
"I wasn't that drunk."
He chuckles. "You weren't sober, either."
Her cheeks flush with colour, and she smiles. "Better he didn't see me like that, anyways. He always hated the way I was when I got drunk."
"Like I said," he rolls his eyes, "Dick." Billy takes a swig straight out of the whiskey bottle before offering it to Frances. "I for one don't give a shit. You wanna go for round two?"
"No, thanks." The sun seems to disappear behind the horizon all at once, and she shivers in the grey twilight. "And neither should you if you're driving. I gotta go."
"I can drive you," he offers, twisting the lid back on the bottle and pulling his car keys from his pockets. "That is, if you're not gonna bite my head off for offering."
"You don't have to—"
"I want to. Feel like a drive, anyway."
Frances sighs, hesitant. He's already holding the door open for her, a small, hopeful smile on his lips. She can still make out the sadness lying just beneath his expression, though, muted and dull, but there.
"Alright," she agrees finally, sliding into the passenger's seat. The leather is cold against her legs. "But only 'cos I'm freezing out here."
"Yeah, yeah," he retorts. "Keep tellin' yourself that, angel."

A Butterfly’s Heart
Fandom: Miraculous Ladybug Genre: Hurt/Comfort, Angst, Fluff Pairings: Adrinette, Tikki/Plagg, background Nathalie/Emilie Relationships: Marinette & Nooroo Words: 4,085 Other Links: FFN | AO3
Dedication: Surprise gift fic for @belles-lettresdemoncoeur for being the best RP partner I could ask for and to cheer her up since she hasn’t been feeling well lately! (Credit to her for some of the ideas surrounding Emilie and Mari’s care and the ‘Tikki’s choice’ line (I reworked))
Summary: After the final battle for the Miraculous, Hawkmoth – A.K.A. Gabriel Agreste – is dead, Paris is safe, and its heroes are recovering.
In the midst of it all, one little butterfly has a lot of TLC coming his way.
Please note: This is definitely a canon divergent fic! Starting with "Guitar Villain" in season one, Marinette and Adrien get closer and closer (they're also older in this because fuck canon's logic - they're seventeen here, almost eighteen in Adrien's case). Because of this, Mari and Gabriel interact more, and despite being continuously impressed by her work, the two of them butt heads personality-wise, especially where Adrien and his happiness are concerned. Thus (fic spoilers starting here!), after kidnapping Ladybug and Chat and torturing LB, seeing her as the source of his problems since she's always foiling his plans, when he finds out Mari is Ladybug during the final battle, he flips out and kicks the crap out of her, so hard and so fast she doesn't have a hope of defending herself - before finally trying to take her out of the game entirely. Also, in this version of events, Nathalie has always been a very good mother figure for Adrien, loves him like her own, and does not join Gabriel. She and Emilie are also a thing. Chloe is also not a Miraculous holder here, and her and Lila's bullying is much more severe than canon would ever (be allowed) to portray.
---
Finally, the Battle for Paris is over.
Team Miraculous comes out on top, but it isn’t without fallout.
In the end, Adrien needs five days to heal from his broken nose, bloodied-raw wrists, fractured ankle, and split lip. His bruises and cuts are still healing when he refuses to sit around anymore. How can he when there’s so much going on?
His mother is back, safe with Nathalie and Gorilla. She’s doing well, all things considered, awake and smiling and getting stronger every day with the help of the medical team, a fixed Peacock Miraculous and Duusu, and Tikki and Plagg’s combined magic. She’s walking on her own again by the end of the week.
It’s Marinette who isn’t nearly as lucky. It takes two weeks for her to wake from her medically-induced coma. From the extent of her laundry list of injuries—five broken ribs, a thrice-broken nose, finger-shaped bruises on her neck where Hawkmoth – Gabriel Agreste – tried to strangle her, the stab wound clean through her stomach, severe internal bleeding, gashes and bruises covering her body, and the fact that they lost her twice in surgery before getting her stable, just as a starting point—it’s no surprise. Adrien makes sure she gets the best care possible, calling the best nurses and doctors in all of France to come look after her (and his mother) around the clock. He’s thankful they’re professional enough not to press for more information after he claims she was just caught up in the final battle. (Nathalie checked them all out extensively before they were even contacted, and they still sign confidentiality wavers, just in case.)
Apart from Nathalie forcing him into the shower, Adrien never leaves her side.
When Marinette finally does wake up, she’s panicked and confused and in pain, but a tearfully overcome yet stubborn Adrien is there and does his best to take care of her. He calls her parents immediately, has the doctors examine her and give her something for the pain, and once they’re done and her parents have smothered her in crying-relieved hugs, he explains everything. He does it in pieces over the coming days, not wanting to overwhelm her too much at once, and with her pounding head and hazy memory of everything past being stabbed, she’s grateful. (She doesn’t remember he’s Chat Noir, for instance, that she knows that, but she knows that Chat Noir knows she’s Ladybug – Tikki had to choose between revealing her identity or saving her life, and Adrien’s tearfully thanked the little goddess a trillion and one times since that day for choosing the obvious. He will tell Marinette later, he swears, when things are…decidedly less complicated.)
She also knows that Adrien knows she’s Ladybug, and that was…a thing that happened. It took her several minutes to come down from that particular panic, but once she did, they talked it out. After a day or two of adjustment, she’s…okay with it now. If any civilian were to know her secret, especially now that the danger’s passed…she’s so glad it’s him.
It’s another week and two days of going in and out of consciousness and healing before Marinette is able to stay awake through the day. She still can’t move much, let alone get out of bed or walk yet, but she’s getting there, and that’s all any of them cares about. She laughs happily when Tikki snuggles into her cheek in congratulations, Plagg nuzzling into her hand and purring loudly—
—and that’s when something that’s been on the edges of her previously-foggy mind finally hurtles to the forefront with a sudden jolt of clarity. Marinette springs upright like she’s been shocked, breath hitching at the pain and realization both. At her side, Adrien is instantly on high alert, instinctively taking her hand while he looks and listens for anything that might be a threat. “Marinette? What is it?”
"W-what about Nooroo? Is he okay? Where is he?"
Adrien blinks for a long moment, and then he softens. Of course. Typical Marinette. Always thinking of other people even when she’s the one who almost died. He’d managed to get the Butterfly Miraculous off his father before it could be destroyed along with him, and he’d been keeping it with him for safekeeping. He figured she’d ask eventually, so it doesn’t take more than that for him to bring it out to show her. She immediately grabs it and puts it on.
“Marinette, wait! You might not be strong enough for—!” Tikki tries to warn, Adrien and Plagg just as worried, but it’s already too late. Even if it wasn’t, they know she would have done it anyway. It’s just how she is when she cares about someone. It’s why they love her.
For now, all they can do is wait on bated breath. Plagg reaches for Tikki’s paw, the show of support for her as much as him. It’s been centuries since they’ve seen their youngest…
There’s a flash of light, and the butterfly Kwami materializes before them. Opening his eyes, Nooroo looks around, confused and worried. "Where is—?" But then, he's hit with that feeling every Kwami gets when his holder, legitimate or not, dies, and he curls in on himself. "Oh, no... M-Master..."
Realizing he’s not alone, he cautiously takes in the others in the room. Seeing Marinette with the brooch, his little face fills with tentative hope. "M-Mistress...?"
Mari can only smile kindly, a bit sadly, and shake her head, gesturing to her earrings. “Sorry…”
He gasps instantly, a shocked, awed smile coming to his face, and he sweeps into a sort of bow. "Oh, Ladybug! Forgive me, I did not know it was you!"
Marinette flushes brightly at his reaction, sending a confused, alarmed glance the others’ way. Adrien seems to be in the same boat as her, but Plagg is as exasperatedly fond as either of the kids has ever seen him, and Tikki just stares at Nooroo like she’s finally gotten back something precious. Turning back to Nooroo, Mari waves her hands in front of her carefully, not wanting to scare him, a nervous smile on her lips. "Y-you don't have to bow, really! I'm not t-that important! And don't worry about it, i-it's okay! We've never met before, so how could you know, right?"
Nooroo comes out of the bow a bit sheepish, a slightly darker purple blush coming through, and Marinette just melts. She bows right back, as low as she can in her condition, just like her mother taught her, pain be damned. "I'm Marinette Dupain-Cheng. It's very nice to finally meet you, Nooroo. Tikki’s told me so much about you."
He feels less silly at her bow, she sees, which was her goal, and she holds out a small, gentle hand – an invitation, not a command. "I'm sorry to wake you up like this. I know you need your rest, and you’ve more than earned it. But I just...” she softens further, “…I wanted to see how you were doing. I've been worried about you for a long time. We all have been. The other Kwamis, too.” Her smile gentles, becomes the tiniest bit sad again, while her empathy rises. “You've...you've been through a lot, haven't you?"
She wants to cry at all the awful things he must have suffered at Gabriel's hands. She doesn't realize a tear's actually slipped out until there's a soft fluttering at her cheek, catching and wiping the tear away. "Please do not cry on my behalf, Marinette. I will be fine,” Nooroo reassures, backing up an inch or two to give her some space. Normally, he wouldn’t dare get this close to anyone, never mind someone he just met, even Ladybug, after what he's just been through, but...he gets a very good vibe from this child. He feels...safe with her.
She breathes a laugh and smiles a little more. She wants to cuddle him, to promise him no one will ever mistreat or misuse him or his powers again while she’s around, but she doesn't want to scare him off. Soon, she hopes. "Thank you, Nooroo. I'm happy to hear that. But until then, if you’ll have me, I'll do anything I can to help you. I've...been through similar things, so I know at least some of what you're feeling." Adrien squeezes her hand. Nooroo looks a little confused, and she can’t blame him. If he wants, she’ll tell him all about Chloe’s bullying growing up and Lila’s lies and manipulation later. She glances at Adrien, warming. "I'm sure Adrien will want to help, too.”
The boy nods vehemently, more than once. “Of course! I—” He looks away, suddenly nervous, rubbing the back of his neck. What if…Nooroo doesn’t want his help? What if he blames him, is mad at him, for not suspecting and confronting his father to save him earlier, regardless of how dangerous that would have been? But…looking at the little guy, he doesn’t seem angry in the slightest. If anything, he seems delighted to be feeling happy and safe for the first time in forever and just as awed to be meeting him as he was Ladyb—er, Marinette. Taking a breath, Adrien steels himself and comes back, determined as ever. “I want to help undo what my father’s done to you. And if I can’t quite do that, then…” he smiles sweetly, “…if I can at least help the healing process in any way, please don’t hesitate to let me know. I’d be honored.” He follows Marinette’s earlier lead and bows as low as he can. “It’s great to meet you, Nooroo. I’m Adrien Ageste.”
Nooroo smiles shyly and returns the bow, more confident this time. He doesn’t miss the way Adrien is particular in using his real name with no hints toward his own Miraculous. He figures that’s on purpose. Perhaps Marinette doesn’t know...? How interesting… He’s sure Tikki and Plagg will fill him in later. “The pleasure is mine, Adrien.” That aside, he straightens and has this to say, looking the boy right in the eyes: “You are incredibly brave to stand against your father as you have. Countless others would have turned and run without hesitation. Regardless of his choices, you are worthy, indeed. Do not doubt yourself.”
Adriens eyes widen, his mouth forming a small ‘o,’ and for a moment, Nooroo wonders if he’s said too much, shrinking and an apology already on his lips. A glance Marinette’s way shows she’s confused, and he senses some puzzle pieces might be fitting into cracked memories, but he can tell she hasn’t figured it out, so he thinks he’s safe. He was careful to be cryptic, of course, but he knows firsthand (technically) just how clever this Ladybug is.
All the same, Nooroo is opening his mouth to apologize, almost reflexively, just in case, when Adrien’s eyes well up with tears and a touched smile forms as his heart swells with gratitude and intense affection for the Kwami. The boy breathes a shaky laugh, the hand in Marinette’s – the hand he’d used to Cataclysm his own father right in the face – trembles, but his smile holds, and he nods, swearing then and there that he’s going to be there for Nooroo every step of the way from now on. He owes him that much. Nooroo deserves that much. “R-right. I’ll do my best. We’ll—we can do it together, all of us.” Marinette nods and squeezes his hand. “Thank you, Nooroo.”
It’s Nooroo’s turn to be surprised, even shocked, a blush and small “Oh…!” leaving him, but he’s so happy, and it’s a wonderful feeling. He laughs, the sound like tinkling bells so foreign to him now that he startles himself at first, going with it at Plagg and Tikki’s delight. Adrien and Marinette immediately know they want to hear it as often as they can. “Of—of course, Mas—A-Adrien! I meant every word!”
Marinette softens. “I’m sure Tikki and Plagg will—” Glancing over at Tikki, she pauses. There are huge tears rolling down Tikki's face while Plagg does his best to comfort her, and she can tell she’s barely holding back sobs. "T-Tikki, what's wrong? Are you okay?"
Tikki answers with a lurching sob and a cry of "My baby's home!" before surging forward to wrap Nooroo in what he’s pretty sure is the tightest hug he's ever gotten. He surprises himself by accepting it as easily as he does and hugging back just as tightly, letting her cry and crying a bit himself. He should have known he’d accept it from her, though, his mother in every sense, divine creation be damned. He was so alone and so scared for so long... But he's safe now, with her, with Plagg, with these wonderful, extraordinary children. He knows he is.
When they separate minutes later, Nooroo looks between Marinette and Adrien and once again bows as low as he can. This time, they don’t stop him. "Thank you for saving me, Lady—er, Marinette and Adrien. I cannot thank you enough. I am in your debt."
Marinette melts all the more. She’s still confused about the parts of the last battle she can’t remember, but for now, she’s almost certain she’s adopted the little sweetheart. "Of course, Nooroo. But there’s no need to thank us. We're just glad you're finally home safe. That's the important thing."
Adrien nods, threading his fingers through Marinette’s and squeezing. (He doesn’t notice how red she’s turning just from that, but she returns the gesture, a shy beam coming to her face, and that’s all he needs.) “Mari’s right. You and Duusu are home and fixed now, and everything can only get better from here. I’d say that’s a pretty good place to start, wouldn’t you?”
After being with Gabriel for so long, even if his service was unwilling and terrifying, Nooroo feels some parts of him are still loyal to the man, and despite being the youngest Kwami, Nooroo isn’t stupid. He knows he’ll probably need a lot of care and help and time to work through everything he’s been through, but...he also knows they're right. He knows what he went through was anything but good, knows that the loyalty he feels is from the abuse instead of anything remotely earned or deserved, and it feels…impossibly good to finally be able to admit that, even to himself, without fear of backlash. And here, with these people and his fellow Kwamis…he truly does feel like he’ll be okay.
So, he just smiles, perhaps tiny, but bigger than it’s been in so many years, and he nods. "I...I agree! I am happy, too, to be...a-away from...him..." He can't say his name, and he doesn't want to call him ‘Master’ because he—he wasn’t, not really, not by right or Choice, as it should be. So, he settles for that for now. He'll find something to call him in time. For now...
It's only then that he notices just where they are, in some kind of sterile human environment meant for healing, and he isn't sure how he didn't realize how...hurt Marinette is until now. There are still some ugly yellow bruises and scrapes on Adrien, too. Perhaps being awake and free fazed him too much.
"Oh, no...!" he says, so horrified and quiet it's barely a whisper, fluttering closer to look between them and take in their injuries as best he can. "You're hurt! You're—you're humans, human children! Why—? Your suits should have—?!" Then, his eyes widen and well with tears, going pale as memories flood back. "I...I helped him hurt you! I...I...!"
Marinette and Adrien trade a concerned glance, Tikki and Plagg, too. Is he only just now remembering more from the battle? Does he—did he maybe block out all Miraculous battles for his own sanity? Mari makes to reach out to him carefully, but she stops barely halfway, unable to bring herself to get any closer. The last thing she wants to do is scare the poor babe. “N-Nooroo? Are you okay?”
He snaps to look at Marinette, wide, haunted eyes moving from her face to her heart and back like he's frantically checking something, looking more heartbroken by the second, a few tears rolling down. "Ladyb—M-Marinette, you—you died...! Y-your human body gave out, m-more than once, you...! Y-you're lucky to be here at all! And yet, you still...!" He sobs outright and flies toward her faster than he can remember in all his years, nuzzling into a tiny, unmarred section of her cheek. "I-I'm so sorry...! Y-you didn't deserve that...a-any of it...! A-Adrien either! I...p-please...c-can you e-ever forgive me...?"
Marinette's heart automatically goes out to the poor thing, and this time, she reaches up to almost hold him, but leaves more than enough room for him to tell her no or shy away or get away, if he needs it, just in case. She doesn't want to make him feel afraid or trapped. He's felt both for far too long. She'd rather die (maybe not the best choice of words right now, but too bad) than add to that.
"Hey... Hey, Nooroo... It's okay, minou..." She makes sure her voice is light, calm, and gentle like a warm summer breeze. "Can you...can you look at me? And I mean, really look at me?" It takes a few tries, but he does look her in the eyes eventually, and she melts a bit more. She doesn’t understand how anyone could be so terrible to a being so inherently good. She wishes she could do more for him. She will, somehow. "What wielders do with Kwamis’ powers...it's not the Kwamis’ fault. Some people, like Gabriel, only see you as tools. They want to use your power and abuse it for their own gain, no matter what it does to them or the Kwamis or anyone else. That is never the Kwamis' fault. What Gabriel did to me, to us, using your power…it was not your fault. It will never be your fault."
He still looks unconvinced, so very guilty, so she purses her lips tightly before trying another way. "Let me ask you something…" She takes a slow, deep breath. This might be hard for him (and Adrien, Tikki, and Plagg) to hear, but it's necessary. This is where her own painful memories of the final battle, what she has so far anyway, will come in handy, she supposes. "When...when Gabriel was Hawkmoth and he...he was beating me, when he...stabbed me," Nooroo flinches at the reminders, tearing up all the more, but she just smiles gently in kind, hoping to reassure him, "you didn't want to do it, right? You...I'm sure you asked him to stop, told him to, begged him, did your best to resist and fight back. Am I right?"
Nooroo nods immediately, so frantic that she's afraid he might give himself whiplash. His eyes are wide and shell-shocked and somewhat far away, he looks even paler all of a sudden, and he squeezes his eyes shut as the tears become too much. "Of course I did!” His little voice is still quiet, but it’s louder than it’s been yet, shaken and pained. “I asked him what he was doing, why he was hurting you, begged him to stop, tried to tell him you didn't do anything wrong—a-and when that didn't work, I-I said I wouldn't let him hurt you, ordered him to stop! I-I fought him as hard as I could! It's—it's why I lost energy and dropped his—his transformation before Chat Noir could—!"
Mari holds up a hand to stop him, still smiling, though the memories have made her pale as well. Her hand shakes the slightest bit, the one in Adrien’s, too, making him hold on tighter. Nooroo goes silent immediately, grateful for the reprieve, tiny chest heaving with emotion as he watches her confusedly. Adrien and the other two Kwamis are doing the same, not sure what she’s cooking up, but trusting her implicitly. "See?" she entreats, her voice falling tender and soft like the morning sunrise, shaky undercurrent be damned. "You wanted to know why, and you wanted to help me. You fought him every step of the way and did your best to stop him. I might be hurt, sure, and I...I might have lost the fight a few times and been in a coma for a while, but...I'm still here. I'm alive, and I'm sure that is because of you, Nooroo.”
Marinette is pretty sure she’s turning his entire view of the situation on its head. Good. “You dropping the transformation when you did gave Chat Noir the time and opening he needed to step in and take Gabriel down. Without that, he might have kept beating me, and Chat might not have been able to stop him. He might have killed me for real." His eyes are glued on hers, wide and shocked and awed once again, but for entirely different reasons this time, better ones than the mantle she holds, and it’s her heart’s turn to swell. "I wouldn't be here, alive, right now without you, Nooroo." Tears gather in her eyes, too, and she can't help but smile softly, lightly, like sunlight through clouds. "So, thank you so much. Thank you for everything."
Adrien is tearing up himself at the display and revelations here, and he has his own thanks to give for saving his best friend, partner, and the love of his life, but he can do that later. For now, he’s going to let them have their moment. They’ve earned it, and he can’t deny how cute they are together.
Nooroo is so happy and relieved and already loves her so much that he sobs with it, his tears overjoyed and touched now, and he zooms in to nuzzle into her, hug her cheek, wipe away her tears that fall. “Th-thank you, Marinette!”
Once they’ve both calmed down, he still has one more thing. "You've been...having nightmares, I expect." Nooroo glances over at Adrien, Tikki, and Plagg to confirm, and it's a silent, unanimous yes. Vivid memories of her heart rate monitor spiking in the dark of night, shaking, hyperventilating, tears, broken cries of Chat or Adrien’s name, whispered pleas and apologies. He moves to nuzzle into her a little more, voice lowering. "I can help with that. Let me guard your dreams, Marinette. Let me do that much, if not for your sake, then for mine. Please."
Mari swallows the lump that forms at how...sweet he is. Tikki was so, so right to have spoken so highly of him. Someday, she’ll find a way to tell him just how amazing he is—and have him believe it. "If that’s something you feel you need to do, if you're sure...I'd really like that. I trust you, Nooroo. Thank you, little friend."
A small gasp leaves him, and she draws back, worried she said something wrong. But as luck would have it, the little butterfly is positively beaming, not so much tentative anymore as glowing. "A...a friend? Really? I've—I've never had one of those before!" Then, remembering himself, a faint blushing coloring his cheeks, "Ah! A human one, that is!"
Marinette laughs, softening. "I know exactly how that feels.” She glances over to meet Adrien’s eyes, warming. She's sure the two of them can bond over that later, once they open up about their similar experiences. She’d love that. "And now you do. You have me now." Nooroo cheers and flutters up to press his forehead to the star of her face. Happily pressing back, she motions to Adrien, too. "I'm sure Adrien will be, too.”
He nods without hesitation. “Absolutely!”
Marinette grins brightly. “Emilie, Nathalie, Gorilla, my parents...the rest of Team Miraculous. You'll have lots of friends soon enough, Nooroo. If you want them, of course."
Nooroo is crying again, but he's hugging Mari's cheek as she’s found only a Kwami can, and this time, he gladly lets her touch him, her fingers stroking his back below his wings with the gentlest of caresses. He snuggles in more, as much as he possibly can. "M-more than anything...!"
Then it's settled.
“Welcome home, Nooroo.”

fic: Meet Me Under the Spotlight - Part II
Rating: PG-13 Word Count: ~5800 Characters: Steve/Natasha and the ensemble Summary: A continuation of that celebrity social media au no one asked for.
A/N: I hesitated about revisiting this story because the format was so unique and it flowed incredibly well and I wasn’t sure if I could replicate that. Also, in terms of the universe itself, I wasn’t sure what story I wanted to tell next that would still be fun to read through social media. With that said, I thought about it a lot and had so many things I wanted to add and other characters I wanted to include. I just planned on revisiting this ‘verse through headcanons or blurbs for you darlings, but I took another crack at it instead, and I had just as much fun writing it this time as I did the first time!
By the way, I’ve officially dubbed this ‘verse the Marvelous ‘verse. Because I will be coming back to it.

‘Marvelous’ Season Finale Recap: “How the Mighty Fall”
May 25, 2017. 8:12 AM PST
SPOILER ALERT! This post contains plot details from the Marvelous season three finale, episode twenty-two, “How the Mighty Fall,” below.
Let’s start by getting this out there: no, we’re still not over it. And with three whole months between now and when Marvelous is scheduled to start filming Season 4, we’re sure the tears won’t stop flowing for a while.
Last night’s episode was the culmination of every heartbreaking fight we had to endure between our heroes, and every hasty action they took came back full circle with a sucker punch to our hearts! This was the lowest point the series has come to yet, and even after watching an entire season of everything falling apart, we still didn’t expect it to happen in such a spectacular fashion.
We’ll be back to get into the gory details soon, but in case you were too caught up in your tears to follow every minute of the finale, here are the highlights:
Black Widow’s betrayal that sent fans into a rage at the end of last week’s episode - episode twenty-one, “A Butterfly in a Web” - turned out to be for good reasons. Which we never doubted, but did you have to take such a hard shot at the Captain to do it?
Evidently, yes. Because not only did the Captain realize too little too late that she was protecting him, but his initial abandonment of her after their fallout ended in grave consequences. He barely makes it to her in time before she can bleed out to death, and when she wakes up, she has no recollection of anything. Not of what happened to her, not of betraying him, and not of anything that has to do with the Team at all. We’re not sure exactly how far this memory loss goes, but it was very clear from her confused and shaken expression when she wakes up that it’s pretty grim. And now that she’s without her memories, the Captain is more lost than ever. Guess it takes temporarily (hopefully temporarily?) losing every precious moment together to put things into perspective.
The escalating tension between Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch is irony at its finest: Quicksilver has spent the entire season as the overprotective older brother to Scarlet Witch, which unfortunately meant that Scarlet Witch has spent the entire season feeling sheltered and suffocated. She finally gets what she wants - a chance to put her newfound control over her powers to work, without Quicksilver hovering over her shoulder - and that left her open to being kidnapped. Understandably, Scarlet Witch could have avoided this with her eyes closed and both hands tied, but she had a little something else to deal with:
The Winter Soldier and Falcon, who have had no love lost between them this season, are quite literally at each other’s throats when they join Scarlet Witch to investigate a lead that takes them into the mountains to sniff out a secret bunker. Their fight last night had been the biggest and ugliest yet, and as expected, they don’t realize how gravely it would cost them until Scarlet Witch - too wrapped up in trying to keep them from killing each other - is snatched from under their noses. And no, it wasn’t the thing they needed to come to some kind of truce. If anything, it only made things worse.
Hawkeye and Thor had left in the previous episode to follow a lead of their own, and as expected, they also run into a nasty baddie of their own. And the blowout was far more fatal than you could imagine. When Agent 13 and Agent Hill were finally able to find them and bring them back to the safety of the Facility, they realized that Thor’s powers were completely gone - so it looks as if healing his eye isn’t something that will happen soon - and Hawkeye is in a coma.
Looks like we’ll need to stock up on tissues for now, because with no indication about how things will end up for another few months, we’re left with broken heroes and even more broken hearts.

Just In: ‘Marvelous’ star Natasha Romanoff appears on The Late Night Show, drops exclusive Season 4 teaser trailer (September 28, 2017)
Everything You Need to Know About the ‘Marvelous’ Season 4 Teaser Trailer
September 29, 2017. 12:55 AM PST
Last week the Marvelous official Twitter announced that the show’s teaser trailer would not be included in the CW sizzle reel due to “production complications”, much to the disappointment of us Marvels everywhere. Little did we know that not only were we still getting that teaser, but we were getting it an entire week early!
When Natasha Romanoff dropped by The Late Night Show last night, it seemed like a typical guest appearance. But we should have known something was up when, just hours before airtime, the Marvelous cast and crew posted tweets upon tweets encouraging fans to tune in, then took to Instagram to post photos of the entire gang gathered in Nick Fury’s penthouse apartment to watch the show. We know this cast and crew love to show their support for each other, but all this seemed like a lot of fuss over a simple talk show appearance, right?
So. Wrong.
“I was so sure I’d get her to dish about her trip,” Peter Quill shared after the show, referring to the Hawaiian vacation where Natasha Romanoff and co-star Steve Rogers seemed to be closer and cozier than ever. Photos of the couple out and about across the islands had made fans swoon over their screens, but not nearly as much as the incredibly intimate photo the pair had posted to Twitter themselves! But if we thought that Peter Quill would finally get the scoop we all wanted, we were mistaken. “I was prepared for every trick Nat could’ve thrown my way except for this one!” Quill had laughed. “I still want answers, but, come on! How could you top that surprise?”
In case you’ve been living under a rock -- or if you want to watch it a few dozen more times like we have -- then here’s the Marvelous Season 4 Teaser Trailer that Natasha surprised the world with last night.
...Couldn’t get the video to load? Don’t worry, we’ve got all 1:15 minutes of it broken down:
We start with a black screen, and the Captain narrating: “When I woke up, they told us we’d won. That the war was over.”
Flashes of scenes in quick succession: Hawkeye in an infirmary bed connected to tubes, bandaging wrapped around his eyes; Scarlet Witch screaming, hands pressed to her head; the Winter Soldier and Falcon on a snowy mountain, both doubled over, blood on the snow; Agent 13 throwing Iron Man’s helmet across the room, nearly hitting Agent Hill’s head as it cracks against the wall.
Black Widow standing in her room, her back to the camera as she reaches for something on the desk, fading into a shot of the Captain watching her from the doorway as his narration continues: “But they didn’t tell me what we’d lost.”
Thor and Quicksilver in the training room, Quicksilver grabbing Thor’s arm and yanking him back as he says, “We have to go after her!” with Thor curtly replying, “If we do, she’s as good as dead.”
Scarlet Witch gathering her energy between her palms, her eyes glowing as men in the foreground aim their rifles; a quick second of nothing, then a shot of a bunker in the snowy mountains erupting into a red explosion, fading into a scene of Falcon and Winter Soldier watching it collapse from afar.
Agent Hill, Agent 13, and Hawkeye (his eyes still wrapped in bandaging) standing over a holographic table as Agent 13, clearly distraught, asks, “All that sacrifice and we only put a Band-Aid on the problem?” Agent Hill answers with, “Maybe, and it’s going to be for nothing if we can’t fix this,” to which Hawkeye scoffs and replies, “Look at us. We can’t even fix ourselves.”
An ominous shot of the cube-like form of energy used to seal Thor’s powers within it, currents of electricity sparking out from its core; then Thor wincing in pain before hurling a weight across the training room.
Black Widow and the Captain standing close together as she hesitantly reaches up to touch his face; then the Captain sitting on his bed, head down, as Black Widow kneels in front of him and asks, “Tell me what to do to help,” to which the Captain replies in a strained voice, “I don’t know.”
Scarlet Witch in the snow, surrounded by the debris of the exploded laboratory, and then the Winter Soldier lifting her into his arms as she tucks her face into his chest, her entire body shaking.
Falcon pressing a kiss to Agent 13′s hair as she closes her eyes, his voice playing over the scene: “So how do we do this?”
Then Falcon and Agent 13 startling as someone enters the room, Iron Man emerging from the doorway with his arm in a sling and a bruise on his cheek. A quick cut to Agent 13 crying as she throws her arms around Iron Man, his voice playing over the scene: “We start with my least favorite thing to do.”
Cut to black, with Iron Man finishing his dialogue: “We ask for help.”
Then a close-up shot of purple light passing over someone’s skin and dissolving into a black, textured material as it spreads. This figure turns around, revealing a complete shot of his high-tech, full-bodied, cat-like suit; then he glances up at the ceiling as another figure -- slighter and smaller in stature, in a blue-and-red suit with a spider across his chest -- repels from the ceiling, landing on his feet.
Best. Teaser. EVER.
And with Marvelous not returning until December, it’ a good thing that we Marvels know how to keep ourselves busy. Bring on the theories!

Happy Halloween! ‘Marvelous’ Treats Fans with More Insight on Upcoming Season
October 31, 2017. 8:25 AM PST.
SPOILER ALERT! This post contains on-set stills from Season 4 of Marvelous.
When we were kids, we gorged on candy for Halloween. Now, we gorge on spoilers!
(But candy would still be appreciated.)
This morning, the Marvelous official Twitter announced that they had a little something special for us Marvels on the show’s official site, and they did not disappoint! Not only were we treated to on-set photos -- confirmed to have been from the start of filming back in August -- but we were also given the official synopses of the first three episodes!
Bonus: none of scenes shown seem to be related to the scenes teased in the trailer.
Can you say, “more spoilers”?

But wait: there’s MORE!
IN SOMNIS VERITAS - Season 4, Episode 1
As the Captain (Steve Rogers) struggles to deal with Black Widow’s (Natasha Romanoff) memories being lost, Agent Hill (Maria Hill) tries to pick up the pieces of the Team’s latest fallout, especially as Thor (Thor Odinson) starts to spiral without his powers and Hawkeye (Clint Barton) remains in a coma. Meanwhile, the Winter Soldier (Bucky Barnes) and Falcon (Sam Wilson) fear that their time to rescue Scarlet Witch (Wanda Maximoff) may be running out.
THE DARKEST NIGHT - Season 4, Episode 2
Scarlet Witch (Wanda Maximoff) realizes that her powers are fluctuating due to the experiments performed by her still-unnamed abductor (guest star Edwin Jarvis), which she fears will have catastrophic side effects. Elsewhere, as extraterrestrial weapons continue to move between counties, Agent 13 (Sharon Carter) urges the Team to take action. Realizing the distress she’s causing the Captain (Steve Rogers), Black Widow (Natasha Romanoff) asks him to help jog her memories.
BEFORE DAWN - Season 4, Episode 3
With the Captain (Steve Rogers) opening up to her and the Team reunited once more, Black Widow (Natasha Romanoff) starts to get flashes of what she believes are her lost memories, though she hesitates to tell anyone. Meanwhile, the return of the Director (writer/producer, guest star Nick Fury) gives Agent Hill (Maria Hill) a new push to rally and regroup, while the arrival of Black Panther (T’challa T’chaka) and Spider-Man (Peter Parker) gives the Team the motivation to move forward.
While we now have a little insight on what to expect from the start of the season, we’re still wondering about those wedding photos posted by the cast back in August. Is it a dream? An illusion? A flash-forward?
Tell us your thoughts in the comments below!

AE! Exclusive: Spoilers Straight from the Cast of ‘Marvelous’
November 14, 2017. 8:02 AM PST
SPOILER ALERT! This post contains plot details from the season premiere of Marvelous.
(If any of you Marvels successfully resisted the urge to continue reading, know that we are incredibly impressed.)
That’s right, Marvels. With the Season 4 premiere just a month away, Access Entertainment! received an exclusive invitation to visit the set. And while we were there, we sat down with some of the cast and crew to squeeze out juicy details on what to expect from the upcoming premiere.
(WATCH: Access Entertainment’s Entire First Look from the Set of ‘Marvelous’)
Ready for the spoilers? Yeah, neither were we.
1. The premiere will center around the theme of dreams, and Steve Rogers (playing the Captain) shares that the entire episode should be an emotional roller-coaster. Ready your tissues, Marvels.
STEVE ROGERS: There’s a very blurred line between dreams and nightmares and that’s something the premiere really plays on. We shot two or three, sometimes even four versions of the same dream scenes that were so tonally different from each other. There are really low points but there are really high points, too, and it’s just one of those things you know will have that punch and then keep on punching.
ACCESS ENTERTAINMENT: And we’re guessing one of the Captain’s dreams must involve Natasha [Romanoff, playing Black Widow] in that gorgeous wedding dress all over Instagram?
ROGERS: [laughs] That was actually the very first scene we shot of the season. We read the script together, so we knew it was coming, just not when. But it’s the first day, and we’re all in tuxes and gowns and they’ve got us in this beautiful church set. And I didn’t even see Nat in her dress until we started filming. Nick [Fury, the show’s writer/producer] still won’t admit it but I’m sure that was intentional.
ACCESS ENTERTAINMENT: How romantic!
ROGERS: Yeah, don’t let the guy fool you. He’s just a big softie.
2. We’ll pick up right where the finale left off. Which means throwing salt onto all those wounds that still haven’t healed; their wounds AND ours.
SHARON CARTER [playing Agent 13]: You can watch the finale and then the premiere back-to-back and it’ll sort of be one extended episode. That’s the idea. We put these characters through every circle of hell and back and we don’t want to just jump forward and make you fill in the gaps. We take you with us every step of their emotional journey like we always have, and I can’t share anything, of course, but it doesn’t take long for them to start bouncing back. It’s sort of our way of saying, ‘Hey, we broke your hearts and made you wait half a year because we suck but now you’ll reap the rewards.’
3. After watching an entire season of our heroes falling apart, we can look forward to them coming back together stronger than ever. It’s no secret that watching episode after episode of our heroes fighting among each other was heartbreaking. But Wanda [Maximoff, playing Scarlet Witch] dished that this won’t be the case for the upcoming season.
WANDA MAXIMOFF: You won’t have to worry about us being at each other’s throats nearly as much anymore. When you hit rock bottom, there’s nowhere to go but up!
ACCESS ENTERTAINMENT: Thank goodness!
MAXIMOFF: I know! [laughs] It’s always fun to play those kinds of scenes, you know? They’re very raw and real, and it’s cathartic but in a very safe way to channel all your emotions and let them out. But it’s still draining. We were all so tired from “fighting” with each other by the time we wrapped. We looked forward to having a little fun again and Nick absolutely gave us that
ACCESS ENTERTAINMENT: So we can expect a lot more smiles this season? Maybe even a few laughs?
MAXIMOFF: Absolutely! The first few episodes will deal with the aftermath of the finale, of course. You don’t just sweep that under the rug. But everyone has suffered so much individually, this season you’ll see them lean on each other to heal. At the core, they have a bond you can’t really fit into one type of mold and it’ll be what helps them turn things around.
4. This season will explore the dynamics between our characters in ways we thought we could only dream of. Which means, yes, Marvels. They are in fact listening.
MAXIMOFF: You’ll see characters share scenes together that didn’t have much interaction outside of the group before, and you’ll see relationships in new lights. Iron Man [played by Tony Stark] and Quicksilver [played by Pietro Maximoff] got off to a rocky start, and they’re in a civil place now, but you’ll see them develop a genuine friendship. Iron Man will really pull through for Quicksilver and that finally gives them some common ground. Agent Hill [played by Maria Hill] and Thor [played by Thor Odinson] have always butt heads here or there because they’re just so different. They’re almost the last duo you’d expect to come together and that’s the beauty of it. They end up leaning on each other and it’s beautiful. All of these odd, new dynamics will get their own spotlights and it’s so much fun.
There’s even some role reversal in key relationships. Like with Hawkeye [played by Clint Barton]. He was an important mentor to Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver, and now with his condition he’ll turn to them for guidance. And with Black Widow, she really built up Scarlet Witch and helped her become confident in her abilities and now Scarlet Witch will get to return the favor. She’ll be there to help Black Widow get back on her feet. She becomes Black Widow’s biggest confidant, and that will be such a strong thing for Scarlet Witch, who is in a dark place at the start of the season. These more intimate moments - they’ve been my favorite to film so far.
5. Newcomers Black Panther (played by T’challa T’chaka) and Spider-Man (played by Peter Parker) won’t take long to join the fray. We learned that we won’t be seeing them in the premiere, but at least we won’t have to wait much longer! It’s confirmed that Black Panther and Spider-Man will make their debuts before the end of the second episode.
T’CHALLA T’CHAKA: I was surprised to learn during the table read that Nick wasted no time introducing us. He had us involved from the very first day of filming, even though Peter and I would traditionally not have been called to  the set just yet. We were very much included between takes. You would think coming onto a show of this magnitude, joining a cast so established - that would be an intimidating thing, you’d think. But as soon as I got the part everyone reached out to me on their own. We talked, not always about the show. I felt a fast connection. So when Peter and I were watching that first scene being filmed, when Natasha and Steve recited those vows, we were hit just as hard as everyone else. I choked up. I don’t mind sharing that, I’m not heartless. [laughs]
6. There’s a very good chance that every (well, ALMOST every) character that has crossed our heroes’ paths will make a reappearance before the end of the season. At least, it seems that way.
SAM WILSON [playing Falcon]: I’m just making guesses here, but with the way these last three months have gone, it’s probably a good guess. I think we’re somewhere between episodes nine and ten right now and we’ve already brought so many faces back. Sometimes we’ll walk onto a set or get rewrites, and we’ve brought back someone we thought had been written off definitively, and in these cool twists you won’t expect.
ACCESS ENTERTAINMENT: Any names you can hint at?
WILSON: Nah! No, don’t get me in trouble. [laughs] I can’t even hint at anything, but - trust me, it’ll be good. Fans will be excited to revisit these characters and see these shout-outs to old subplots. Some of it will be tying up loose ends, some of it’s just plain fun. Nick’s even got plans to have every guest director come back for an episode if scheduling works out. Don’t worry, I was allowed to share that. I asked. But Peggy [Carter] is already coming back for the mid-season finale and I think they’ve talked about her having a bigger hand in the second half of the season.
ACCESS ENTERTAINMENT: Oh, that’s exactly what we wanted to hear. She’s been involved in those episodes that make me swoon every time!
WILSON: Yeah, she knows how to tug on those heart-strings. She and Nick sat down, I think it was the middle of Season 2. But she and Nick sat us all down and we went around and said where we thought our characters would be in a few seasons and what we wanted for them. And it was all domestic. [laughs] No matter how crazy the world is, those same basic dreams are at our core, you know? And those are Peggy’s favorite stories to tell. Old romantics will be very happy with the intimate moments we fit into these episodes. It’ll be good. Real good.
7. Speaking of intimate: “It’s a very romantic season,” Bucky [Barnes, playing the Winter Soldier] shares. Cue squeals!
BARNES: Obviously the tone of the series will still be there, we don’t deviate into some kind of romantic drama. But you’ve seen the highs and lows of all these relationships, you’ve seen these characters go through so much and now they’ve earned this happiness. It’s a big turning point for our favorite couples, and rather than “will they, won’t they” you get to see them as a unit. That’s kind of the theme of this whole season, “us against the world,” whether it’s couples or friendships or the Team. It’s a great message.
ACCESS ENTERTAINMENT: Can you give us any hints?
BARNES: I wish I could, I really do. We just - we’re all having such a hard time biting our tongues. Each script is better and better and we want to share that with everyone, we want them to be excited with us. But I promise you, if you’ve sat through the last three years with your fingers crossed it’ll pay off. We almost jump the gun in a sense, because it goes from this slow burn to just diving head-first and it’s so satisfying. Even for myself, as a fan of this story and these characters, I see how far everything has come and I just get all tingly. [laughs] It’s great.
Well, there you have it!
It seems like this season will be the most emotional one yet, and luckily for us it sounds like it won’t be of the heart-breaking variety. Hopefully.

I Care. - Theo Raeken
Tumblr media
Ratings: Fluff?
Warnings: Spoilers from 6x16
Request: @thatgirlwiththeblackglasses said: Hii! Idk if u saw episode 16 (of season 6) of teen wolf, but of you did would u like to write a Theo Raeken imagine where he and the reader don't really get along. But they do have a crush on each other but won't admit (sorry if this is weird). But what 6.16 has to do with this is I thought maybe the Theo/Liam scènes could be Theo/YN? And if it can, they confess feelings for each other? Kinda smutty if u want to write that. Love ur blog! Sorry if it's confusing, if it is, message me pleas💗
A/N: GUYS!!! I’m thinking of making a part II. Like, smut was requested, but I got really carried away & this is already super long. So, if you want smut, just request a part II. Seriously. I’m ready to write smut for this. Also, I meant to post this Sunday, but I saved it to my drafts and didn’t realize it. Whoops.
Imagine wanting to hate someone so much that you trick yourself into believing that you do. That someone would be Theo Raeken. As someone who’s been best friends with Scott  Stiles forever, I knew Theo well. And, by that, I mean past tense. I knew. I knew the Theo that was once my best friend. My first kiss. The Theo that moved away. That Theo isn’t the Theo standing in front of me. The Theo standing in front of me is the Theo that killed his sister. He came back to Beacon Hills and tried to use the friendship we all once shared to stab us in the back. It was a weight off my chest when the ground swallowed him whole.
“Do I get a choice here?” I asked. Liam and Scott were talking to me about a plan to lure the hunters out and give us a chance to get a step ahead. Said plan involved Liam, Theo and I alone in an abandoned zoo. I love Liam, don’t get me wrong, but he can have some of the worst decisions. Like that time he brought Theo back without our agreement. Watching Malia attack him almost made it a little bit better.
“No. If we gave you a choice, you'd do the opposite of what we need you to do.” Scott said, his eyes pleading me to just go with it.
“Why does he have to come?” I asked. Theo was standing against a wall on the opposite side animal clinic. I could feel his eyes burn holes in the side of my face.
“Because I'm also a valuable part of this plan.” I could practically hear the smirk that he wore because of how cocky he sounded.
“We've gone over the plan. There will be no changes. No one is getting out of this because they don't like someone else. We need everyone to do exactly as planned or it'll all fall apart.” You can always tell when Scott meant business, and this was one of those times. We all gave in and left the animal clinic. Liam, Theo and I headed out to Theo’s truck to wait it out at the zoo.
---
I could hear Mason over Liam’s phone. The plan was working. Nolan was following Mason to the zoo, and he'd be there expecting to find the entire pack.
“He's driving a bright red car.” Theo looked at me, knowing I'd hear the comment as well, and chuckled. Any other time I'd refrain from reacting if Theo was involved, but I laughed with him. If asked to describe Nolan, discrete will never be an adjective used.
As Mason pulled up, we all hopped out of the truck. Liam and I left Theo to empty the trunk as we crowded around the rolled down window of Lydia’s car.
“Should I come with you guys?” Mason always wants to help us, whether he really can or not. In this situation, however, none of us were going to let him try. Mason can only do so much before he's thrown into the line of fire, and he's already tip-toeing on top of it.
“His friends shoot to kill. Go home.” Theo was right behind me, his arms full of stuff from the car. Mason agreed and drove off, leaving us to get into position.
---
“They're not gonna believe Nolan.” Liam and Theo were going back and forth. Nolan only saw the three of us, and now there are only two hunters here. In order for the plan to work, we needed more of the hunters here.
“Okay. Then they'll have to believe us. Isn't that right?” Suddenly Theo was yelling at Liam.
“What the hell? Theo, what's your problem?” I placed my hand on his shoulder, hoping to grab his attention and quiet him down.
“My problem? What's your problem? Oh, that's right, you always have a problem.” Theo’s voice rose with each sentence. If he wanted the hunters’ attention, he had it. They definitely knew we were there now. The next thing I know, Theo’s hand collides with Liam’s face.
“You see that, Scott? Little beta can't even take a punch?” Then I knew. Theo was trying to get their attention and make it seem like we were all here. If they thought we were all here, they'd be forced to call for more backup.
I stood up, knowing I'd have to make myself known as well, and pushed Theo against the wall we were hiding behind. If this was a free chance to hit Theo, I'd take it. When my hand made contact with Theo’s jaw his head hit the wall and he was momentarily dazed.
“You're one to talk, Theo. Seems you can't take a hit either.”
“I'm not going to hit you,” Theo said, quietly. “Let me go.” I studied every part of Theo’s face before I hit him again, testing him. When Theo didn't even raise his arm against me, I pulled away.
“Awe, Theo. No need to go easy on me.” I tease, raising my voice so I knew they'd hear. This time, Theo switched us around. Somehow, my back was suddenly pressed against the barrier. Theo still made no move to hurt me. Liam took the opportunity to grab a hold of him, spin him, and dish out a punch similar to the one Theo threw at him.
“Your beta, Scott, he's only good in a fight when he's angry. Let's see how he gets.” When Liam growled, I couldn't tell if he was acting or if Theo had really made him mad. Finally, we could hear the hunters scattering and calling for help.
“Are you done? Or do you need to keep going?” I asked after Theo ripped Liam’s shirt. They both looked as if they'd been jumped.
“I think they're sold.”
“You ripped my t-shirt.”
“Yeah? You broke my nose. Twice. It healed. Then, you broke it again. Two times!” I couldn't help myself when Theo said this. I gave in and swung at him once more.
“Three times.” I smiled victoriously as I watched his nose begin to bleed again. We looked around, checking our surroundings before running to our next hiding spot. Theo began to complain, pestering Liam about why he'd pick an abandoned zoo to bait out the hunters. I tuned them both out as soon as Liam began comparing the zoo to a Greek island.
All three of us were stood in this tiny spot behind bars, looking out for the rest of the hunters. When they finally came, they came in bulk. Everyone was there - Nolan, Monroe, and Gerard included.
“We’re supposed to be decoys, not target practice.” Theo and I went to leave, but Liam stayed. I grabbed Liam’s hand, hoping he'd get the hint and follow, but he didn't. I faced him, trying to convince him before he yanked his hand from mine. Theo grabbed his shoulder, but he shrugged his hand off. Theo tried to convince him but gave up.
“Fine. Get caught.” As Theo left, I gave Liam one last look.
“Please don't make me follow him on my own,” I begged. Liam said nothing, so I too gave in and left, trailing behind Theo as we heard Gerard announce his army.
“He's going off anger,” Theo muttered to me as I caught up. “He's going to get himself killed.”
“He's angry. Theo, aren't we all angry? Each and everyone one of us is being targeted. It's like the deadpool all over again. Ordinary people are picking up weapons and hunting us. People we've known forever. Everyone has turned against us.” The deadpool was before Theo returned to Beacon Hills, but that didn't change the fact that this was the same song and dance, just more personal. Theo didn't see how the deadpool hurt us, but now he'll understand it.
---
“I'm not dying out here because you want payback against some kid who kicked your ass.” The bitterness in Theo’s voice didn't surprise me at all. It also didn't surprise me when Liam pulled away from Theo again.
I felt Theo grab my hand and pull Liam and me away from our spot, which alerted Nolan of where we were. Theo tried to tell Liam to calm down, but all that did was make it worse. Liam flashed his golden eyes at Theo. I could feel Liam’s anger radiating off of him.
“What's going on with you?” I asked him.
“This can't just be Nolan. Something around here is triggering you.” Theo added. When Liam tried to tell us he was fine, Theo kept pushing his buttons. I could hear Liam’s heart beating quicker as I took a step back, not wanting to be between the two if one of them threw a punch.
“They're up here!” We were so distracted by trying to calm Liam down that we did hear Nolan find us. Liam charged at him, taking him over the barrier and catching Theo and I both off guard.
“Dammit,” I muttered, stepping forward to see where they landed. I went to jump down and follow them, but I felt a hand grab a hold of my wrist.
“(Y/N), stay up here,” Theo said, pulling me towards him.
“Why?” I tried to pull myself away from him. I could feel my own heart rate go up as I realized how close I was to him. Being this close to him, seeing him in this light, it made me momentarily forget just who he'd become.
“Nolan has a bow. You and I both know he probably won't hesitate to shoot you. I'm not going to let you get hurt.”
“Nolan won't hurt me.” I tried to pull away once more. Nolan and I used to be friends. Nolan was like a baby. He's scared, and he's confused because he doesn't know what's happening. “I don't need you to protect me. Especially not from him.” I don't need Theo thinking I need him around.
In the time that Theo spent trying to keep me away, Liam had lunged at Nolan. Nolan’s back was pressed against the wall, and he might have been crying. It hurt me to see that. Deep down inside of him, he knew what he was doing was wrong. Nolan is a good person. He's just been misled. Liam was hitting the wall next to Nolan’s face. He was trying so hard to keep from killing him. Finally, I felt Theo let go of me. Before I could make it, Theo was already over the ledge. Next thing I knew, Liam was on the ground.
“Run.” Theo gave Nolan his infamous smirk. For a split second, I couldn't help but feel a bit attracted to it. I shook it off and helped Theo drag Liam to the truck.
“I don't need your protection,” I said as Theo and I climbed into the front seats of his truck.
“I don't want to see you get hurt and know I could've prevented it.” He spoke quietly like he didn't want me to hear it.
That struck me. It pulled at my heartstrings. Deep down inside I knew I cared about him. I never quit caring. But he doesn't have to know that. When Theo came back I expected him to be the boy I wanted him to be. When he wasn't, that's what hurt. It hurt knowing he wasn't still the same boy that stole my heart when we were younger. Theo was my first kiss because he was my first love. I wanted him to be the same Theo, even though I hadn't seen him since like the 4th grade.
“Theo,” I started before he interrupted me.
“No. I'm being honest here. I know you probably don't trust me. Rightfully so. But, I need you to know that I care. I need you to know that I am scared that something will happen to you. And I will do my best, when possible, to keep you safe. Because I care.”
“Theo, shut up,” I whispered, my face heating up. I knew he could hear how rapidly my heart was beating.
“Seriously. (Y/N). You know me better than everyone else does. You know when I'm lying. You know when I'm acting. You know that's not what's happening here. I know you can't stand me, but you're the only one I care about enough to keep safe. I'd go crazy if you were hurt in some way.” Theo reached over, grabbing my hands in my lap. “Whether you care or not, I do. I want you to be safe.”
I threw my walls down for a moment and held his hand with mine. I took a moment to study his heartbeat and the way his face looked with the street lamps’ light bleeding through the window.
“I care,” I whispered, scared to mess with the moment that we were having. It was fragile. I felt that if I breathed too hard it would ruin. Theo didn't pull his hand away from mine.
“Did you have to knock me out?” Liam was no longer out cold. “How many times?”
“Five times.” The smirk on Theo’s face made me laugh a little. I chose to ignore the rest of the conversation until we were parked. Liam got out of the truck and, before I could open my door, Theo locked the truck. With his seat belt off he turned towards me, his one hand still holding onto me.
“Do you really care?” He said, his eyes not meeting mine.
“I want to say no. I want to not care. But I do. And it sucks.” This time it was my eyes that wouldn't make contact.
“Why do you hate me so much?”
“Theo, I don't hate you. As much as I should, I don't. I trusted you when you showed up out of nowhere. I defended you when Stiles was against you. I almost chose you over my best friends because I still saw you as that boy that kissed me on the playground when we were little. But that's not you anymore. For a while there I wasn't sure who you were. When you killed Scott I lost my mind. If Melissa hadn't of saved him, I never would've been able to be this close to you again. But somehow I can't hate you. I avoid you because I hate knowing what you do to me.” I nervously played with his fingers, hoping he'd leave it at that.
“Hey,” he whispered. “Look at me.” I faced him. He took his hand from me and brought both of them to my face. I could feel his breath on my lips as he got closer. It felt like years passed before his lips touched mine. I reached one of my hand up to his face, falling into the moment. I could feel all my pent up emotion bubbling to the top as he kissed me. His lips were warm and he tasted sweet and I wanted the kiss to last forever. At some point we pulled away, waiting until we absolutely had to. His lips were swollen and the image in front of me was sinfully glorious.
As we made eye contact we burst into laughter, not really believing what was happening. I pulled his face back to my own, smiling into the kiss. My hands traveled from his face, down his chest, to rest at the end of his shirt. Nothing could really happen with the console placed awkwardly between us, but neither of us was willing to stop. Not until we had to. Before anything could happen there was a knock on the window.
“I was gonna ask how your part of the plan worked, but I'm sure I'll have to wait,” Scott said from outside of the truck before walking off.
“We're not done here,” Theo said, pulling away. I laughed a little bit before nodding my head.
“Definitely not.”

After the Close
Rewatching the end of season two sparks my muse again, so I give you my first attempt at a Stranger Things fic! This is a HUGE spoiler alert for season two, seeing as it takes place during the last episode. Also spoiler warning for the next paragraph/the summary as well!
This is kind of a little filler fic after El closes the gate, and what happens with her, Hopper, and Dr. Owens. It’s not super long but I’m hoping and planning on writing a few fics after it, just filling in the month long gap between the climax and the Snowball. Hope y’all like it! <3
Fic below the cut:
Hopper couldn’t believe what he was seeing. El was floating in the air, her screams pierced the air, shrill and powerful and angry. Then the gate closed. Red light was exchanged for blue. And everything was silent.
But something was off. Maybe it was the lack of noise from El, maybe it was some instinct Hopper had developed during their year together, but her feet hit the lift and her legs buckled, he grabbed her, letting her slid to the ground in his grasp.
“It’s okay kid, I got you.”
For a moment, there was no reply. Hopper’s chest tightened. She said she could do it, and she had, but what if that had killed her? What if his black hole had taken her away too? Then her arms wrapped around him and he could breathe again. She was okay. Relief washed over him and he pulled her closer.
“You did good, kid. You did so good.” He kissed her head, wanting to let her know how proud he was of her, and how glad he was that she was still here, that she hadn’t left him too.
Time was irrelevant. There was no telling how long they sat there, but finally Hopper straightened up a little, though he didn’t let El go completely.
“How you doing?”
Her eyes were dark, though it was hard to tell if that was the result of exhaustion or makeup, maybe it was a mix of both.
“Better.”
“You ready to get out of here?” Hopper glanced around. Now that the gate was closed, it really was quite dark, if it wasn’t for the lights of the lab above it would be pitch black. When he glanced back at El, she nodded.
The lift was slow, but Hopper wasn’t in too big of a hurry. True, he still needed to get Dr. Owens out of there, seeing as the guy was bleeding quite a bit, but El was also weak too, the longer she could rest, the better.
“Think you can stand?” Hopper asked at the lifted clicked to a stop.
El nodded and they both stood, but when she let go of Hopper’s hand, her legs buckled again. Without a second thought, Hopper scooped her up.
“I got you, kid.”
She looked at him, a little annoyance shinning in her eyes, but then exhaustion overtook it and she wrapped her arms around his neck and rested her head on his shoulder.
“Rest up, kid, you deserve it.”
Walking through the lab was almost surreal. Dead bodies everywhere, blood on the floors and walls. Hopper tried not to focus on it, but he knew he could never fully erase what he had seen.
When he reached the stairwell, Dr. Owens was still awake, but talking still wasn’t much of an option. And walking wasn’t realistic either. Cursing under his breath, Hopper glanced at El, then at Owens.
“I’m going to take her up, then I’ll be back for you, okay?”
Owens looked at El for a moment – probably still surprised Hopper had managed to hide her under his nose for so long – then nodded.
Climbing stairs usually wasn’t a big deal for Hopper, but with the addition of El, it was a little more taxing. Though part of it might’ve been his adrenaline wearing off too. But he managed.
When he reached the car, he gently placed El in the front seat, carefully unhooking her arms from his neck.
Her eyes fluttered open.
“Everything is fine. I just have to go get Owens, alright?”
She looked at him for a moment then nodded.
El was a walk in the park compared to getting the doctor out of the building. Hopper couldn’t carry him, so it was a balancing act of supporting his leg and slowly climbing stairs. They had to take a few breaks, but eventually they made it to the truck. And not a moment too soon as Owens blacked out almost as soon as he sat down.
“Don’t die on me now doc.” Hopper muttered as he closed the door and climbed into the driver’s seat.
“You doing okay, kid?” He asked, glancing at El as he turned the car on.
She nodded, and he smiled.
“Don’t worry. Once I drop this guy off we can go home.”
“Home.”  A small smile grew on her mouth before she closed her eyes, clearly still worn out from the past hour, possibly even the last few days. Who knew what she had been up to off on her own. All Hopper knew was that he was glad she was back and he was going to do all he could to make up for all the things he had done wrong.

LMWTV4U: The OA, Season 1
Welcome back to let me watch TV for you! Someday Game of Thrones and Drag Race will be back with weekly eps (praying to the gods of George R.R.R.R. Martin and Rupaul) and I’ll be back with weekly posts. For now, though, I’ll be watching other shows/seasons/series for you. Today I’m re-capping the entire season of the new Netflix series, The OA. I know what you’re thinking, WHAT’S THE OA?!?!? Well I can’t tell you yet, but over a series of long conversations in an abandoned house I’ll finally get around to it (that’s a little inside joke for those who watched it). So let’s go!
Also, SPOILERS AHEAD YOU’VE BEEN WARNED.
Tumblr media
So what’s it about? Here’s as simple as I can make it: A young midwestern woman (Brit Marling, who also co-wrote and co-created the whole project) returns after she’s been missing for almost 8 years. Before she went missing she was blind but now she can see. She decides to tell her life story to a group of 4 teenagers and a teacher (Phyllis from The Office!) so that they can learn her secrets and use them to save the world. She ends up teaching them a pretty cool interpretative dance which they later perform to save their high school cafeteria from a school shooter whose only shot hits Brit which she is actually pretty happy about.
Tumblr media
So lets’s break this down chronologically:
Late 80s/Early 90s, Russia: Young Brit Marling (age 6?) is a super rich Russian kid (!?!? yep that’s right) who can totally see. Her mom died in childbirth and her dad is devoted to her but also makes her jump in a freezing lake to teach her to be brave which seems kinda child-endangerment-y to me but who am I to judge? Baby B has bad dreams that make her nose bleed. In one, she is trapped in an aquarium and can’t breathe and sees crayons falling from the sky. She tells her dad and he’s like jump in this freezing lake and you’ll be cured. Spoiler alert, SHE IS! (kind of)
Tumblr media
Then she and her dad eat some raw eggs (because RUSSIA, you guys) and it’s time for her and her rich friends to start school. Her school bus is attacked by the Russian mob to teach the rich people a lesson and it falls into a lake. Baby B and her friends end up trapped in the bus underwater and the whole stuck-in-an-aquarium-falling-crayons-premonition comes true. But since Baby B’s dad taught her how to not freak out when she’s trapped in freezing water, she’s like, ok fellow kids, don’t freak, there’s an opening we can swim through. But the other kids’ dads never made them jump in a freezing lake so they’re like naw dawg. Baby B starts swimming to safety but it’s a loooooong way up. And then grown up Brit (who is telling her story to the teens) is like “All the kids on the bus died that day. Including me.” THAT’S RIGHT Y’ALL SHE DIED.
Tumblr media
But then she goes to heaven or like purgatory or something and meets this old gypsy lady who is like girl you died but do you want to be alive again? And Baby B is like yes duh. But the gypsy is like K, but you’re about to experience so much suffering and I can’t bear for you to see it so I’m gonna make you blind. And Baby B is like fair ‘nuf and her dad finds her washed ashore, still alive but blind. Which leads us to our next segment…
Tumblr media
Early 90’s, somewhere in America: Blind Baby Brit (BBB) gets sent to school for the blind in America since her dad is worried the Russian mob will attack her again. Her dad calls her on the regs at her school and she plays violin for him. Then she finds out her dad has died (but she doesn’t believe it because he told her he was going to “disappear” to hide from the mob) and she has to go live with her aunt there in America. This aunt is apparently running a baby-selling-business and poor BBB has to care for all the little babes even though she’s a wee one herself and also super blind and sad about going from hero to zero. One day, a very plain couple from Michigan comes through and is about to adopt a little baby boi. But plain-mom finds BBB and is like we gotta take this kid instead, she needs us. And plan-dad is like cool she seems blind but also pretty great.
Tumblr media
Early 90’s, Michigan: BBB comes home with plain mom and dad and you have to take your shoes off at their house so don’t even think about walking around in your outdoor shoes! Things are pretty great and they help her learn braille and let her climb and explore the world and they give her the unfortunate name of “Prairie” (which, sorry, nope). But then she starts having those vivid dreams with nosebleeds again and in the dreams she is talking in Russian and like playing with knives and shit so her plain parents are like CALL THE DOCTOR. She sees a shrink and he’s like your daughter is cray cray bananas so let’s give her a bunch of meds. And plain mom is like ummmmmm no? But plain dad is like we gotta do this so they pump her full of pills and she grows up to be… 21-year-old-Brit-Marling.
Tumblr media
2000s, Michigan, NYC: 21 year old Brit (21B) has a dream where her dad tells her to meet her at the Statue of Liberty. So she runs away, LEAVES A NOTE (which her mom never bothers to tell the police about) and tries to find her dad. He doesn’t show up at the statue of liberty, so 21B ends up down in the subway stations, playing her violin for cash money. A doctor (played by Draco Malfoy’s dad, you guys!) finds her and is like wow you play violin really well, did you ever die and come back to life? And she’s like YES. So they eat oysters together and he tells her all about his studies where researches people who’ve had near death experiences. And she’s like COOL TAKE ME WITH YOU. So she hops into his private plane and flies to his house/ research lab which is conveniently in the middle of nowhere and that’s what lands us…
Tumblr media
2000-2010s, Underground bunker in the middle of nowhere: She gets there and it’s immediately creepy and she’s like hmmm, I don’t hear any traffic and the windows seem super thick and he’s like oh that’s for totally normal reasons, NBD. And then he’s like let me lead you down these stairs that only I have the security code for and into this bunker and, cool, here’s a bed! And she’s like ummm, kinda creepy but ok. And then he locks her in a glass cage and she’s like WHAAAATTTT and then a few other people, also in glass cages, are like ummm calm down. So then she’s trapped down there for the next 7 years.
Tumblr media
During that time, Draco’s dad keeps killing all of his captives and bringing them back to life so they can tell him more about near-death-experiences. Needless to say they don’t share a lot of their info with him since he’s an evil masochist BUT one good thing is that during one of her deaths, Brit gets her sight back! She also falls in love with a fellow captive, Homer, and while they can’t touch each other, they can make googly eyes at each other all day. During the sight-giving death trip, Brit learns a series of motions after the gypsy woman (yep, she’s back!) make her eat a little bird.
Tumblr media
The other captives also learn some motions and together they start practicing this intense, interpretive dance. Unfortunately they need five motions for some reason and they only know four of them. Also at one point one of the fellow captives dies fur realz and Homer and Brit do their 2-part dance and BRING HIM BACK TO LIFE and totally cure him of errything. ALSO Brit finally gets her “OA” name from one of her deaths and it stands for the ORIGINAL ANGEL which is a little heavy-handed if you ask me. OA and her friends think if they can get all 5 motions they will open a portal to another dimension and they can GTFO but they don’t learn the fifth until….
Tumblr media
Present day, underground bunker, still: Draco’s dad finally gets caught by his local state trooper who just walks in on him watching a vid of his captives down below one day. But Mr. State Trooper has a wife who is very sick with ALS and Draco’s dad convinces him to let OA and Homer cure his wife in order to hush. So Mrs. State Trooper is lying there and Draco’s dad makes OA and Homer come up from the bunker to do their magic dance for her. It works and when they cure Mrs. State Trooper she is like OMG so glad to see you guys, when I was a kid I had a near-death-experience and I learned the fifth movement and here it is! And OA and Homer and are like cool teach us! So she does and they are super happy and then Draco’s dad runs in there and kills Mr. and Mrs. State Trooper at the same time. Then he grabs OA and knocks her out and takes her to the middle of nowhere so that she and Homer and the others can never complete their motions together. And that’s when she shows up, in the same clothes she’s been wearing for 8 years and is no longer blind and gets sent back to her adoptive parents in Michigan even though she’d rather be underground practicing her dance with her friends.
Tumblr media
Present day, Michigan: So OA and her five friends learn all of the motions of the dance and they also become stronger, better, more courageous humans in other aspects of their lives as well. Also, she’s been chatting with this FBI “victims support specialist” guy who is played by Riz Ahmed because he’s in everything these days! And he knows some of her plans but not all of them. Right before they can perfect their dance, OA’s parents freak out and take her away to a hotel for her own safety and her friends are like we gotta save her!
Tumblr media
So one of the teens (French) breaks into her house while she’s gone to try to help her I guess and finds a box under her bed and freaks out because it’s filled with books like Homer’s “The Illiad” and “Near Death Experiences” and “How to Pretend You Were Captured for Eight Years” and shit like that. The weird thing with this is that while French broke into OA’s home and found these books, the FBI guy happened to be there, too, sneaking around in the dark. So while you’re supposed to think that MAYBE OA was lying this whole time, it’s also possible this shady FBI guy planted those books under her bed to discredit her because they sure as hell don’t look like she’s been reading them. Some of the kids find the book-discovery to be more upsetting than others but they’re all a little disappointed.
Tumblr media
OA eventually gets to come back home and is taking writing classes or something and then takes a nap in the bath (which... dangerous) and wakes up and is like OMG I KNOW WHAT I NEED TO DO. Simultaneously, all of the high schoolers are back to their old friend groups in their huge cafeteria and Phylis from the Office is there because she got fired and need to clean out her classroom. The OA runs toward the high school all of the sudden and that’s when the school shooter busts into the cafeteria and the four teens plus Phyllis reluctantly look at each other and then they’re like, LETS DO THIS.
Tumblr media
They get up and perfectly perform their dance and while nothing really magical happens, the shooter is distracted enough for a cafeteria worker to knock the gun out of his hands. And it hits the OA just as she shows up which, again, she is happy about because if she has another near-death-experience she may be reunited with her friends. The series ends with the OA “waking up” in a bright room and saying “Homer”
AND THAT’S ALL, FOLKS. SERIOUSLY that’s how it ends.
My final thoughts: the Good, the Bad and the Ugly:
Tumblr media
Good: I love the line when Steve asks her “How did you survive so long down there” and she says “I survived because I wasn’t alone”
Bad: There’s an entire storyline where Draco’s dad takes Homer to Cuba with him to have Homer seduce a Spanish-guitar-playing-lady and he succeeds and OA has to listen to them have sex
Good: The actress who plays baby Brit is amazing, especially considering she has to speak fluent Russian, English and pretend to be blind
Ugly: Steve is such a monster when we first meet him and although he effectively transforms himself, it seems pretty far-fetched that he would change so much
Good: The casting of the kids who play French and Buck is on point, they’re both great young actors
Bad: The storyline with Draco’s dad’s mentor who also has human captives but in the morgue of a hospital is absolutely ridiculous and also how would OA know about it?
Good: Don’t hate but I really like the dance/ series of movements, I think they’re really beautiful and it’s awesome to see them performed by such a diverse group of people throughout the show’s run
Bad: I don’t want to be “that girl” but I work in the mental health field and the whole thing with this-kid-who-recently-experienced-trauma-is-acting-strangely-lets-medicate-immediately-with-no-additional-therapy is just not realistic in the slightest
Good: French works at Olive Garden
Bad: Apparently OA and her plain-mom-and-dad need a reservation to get into Olive Garden?
Good: Homer-OA love story. I’m into it.
Ugly: Most of OA’s outfits when she’s back in Michigan. The sparkly dress over tear-away-Adidas pants are particularly WTF
Bad: So she can speak to snakes and dogs?
Good: Buck performing in choir. Adorbs.

The Linc - ESPN projects what Carson Wentz’s new contract could look like
Let’s get to the Philadelphia Eagles links ...
The 11 NFL quarterbacks who could get mega extensions in 2019 - ESPN What his new deal could look like: Five years, $146 million with $50 million guaranteed at signing. Wentz’s agent probably wouldn’t be willing to settle for less than what Garoppolo got from the 49ers in February 2018, even given that Garoppolo was about to hit free agency. Factor in the cap increase and you get just south of $30 million per season, where Matt Ryan’s five-year, $150 million extension came in last May. Ryan was already due $19.3 million for 2018 and actually had an MVP trophy in his cabinet at home. In all, Wentz would be looking at six years and $150 million when you factor in the $4 million or so in cash he’s due for 2019. It would be a considerable discount for Wentz, who would almost definitely fetch north of $30 million per season by waiting one year. The 49ers can get out of Garoppolo’s deal after two years and $60 million, and while Wentz’s initial deal would likely have an out after a couple of seasons, the Eagles would probably have to build in guarantees for future years if he stays healthy and productive in 2019. In all, it’s tough to see a way this could satisfy all parties.
11 former AAF players the Eagles can now sign - BGN DT Mike Purcell: Purcell might be one of the most logical signings for the Eagles on this list. As it currently stands, Philly only has four defensive tackles under contract: Fletcher Cox, Malik Jackson, Treyvon Hester, and Bruce Hector. It’s very likely the Eagles will add to that group in the 2019 NFL Draft. Still, it could be nice to bring another veteran player at that position. Purcell, who turns 28 this month, was the AAF’s top graded interior defensive lineman. He had 19 run stops, 14 hurries, seven quarterback hits, four sacks, and four deflected passes. The Eagles currently lack a bigger, run-stuffing defensive tackle in the mold of Beau Allen or Haloti Ngata. Adding the 6-3, 327 pound Purcell to the roster could plug that hole.
The QB Scho Show #20: Game of Thrones Comps - BGN Radio Michael Kist has Mark Schofield celebrate being less than 10 days away from Game of Thrones season 8 by comparing the QBs in the 2019 NFL Draft class to various Game of Thrones characters. **SPOILER ALERT** Powered by SB Nation and Bleeding Green Nation.
Eagles Mailbag: Wentz’s next deal, Trout footballs, Pump’s chances - NBCSP Here’s what I came up with: 5 years, $159 million, $100 million guaranteed, $45 million signing bonus. Now, I’ll show my work. This contract would give Wentz an APY of $31.8 million, the second-highest APY in the league behind Aaron Rodgers ($33.5M) and ahead of Matt Ryan ($30M). I think there’s a chance the signing bonus is slightly lower to allow for an option bonus somewhere in that contract. The Eagles have used team options a lot in recent contracts and it might not be a terrible idea to have a kill switch on this deal, especially considering Wentz’s injury history. Here’s a look at Rodgers’ and Ryan’s most recent deals: Rodgers: 4-year extension, $134M, $98.2M guaranteed, $57M signing bonus. Ryan: 5-year extension, $150M, $100M guaranteed, $46.5M signing bonus.
Returning NFL players that could have a big impact in 2019 - PFF Edge Brandon Graham, Philadelphia Eagles. 2018 grade: 88.1. The Eagles have enjoyed pass-rush success from all along their defensive line for the past few seasons, and Graham has been a large part of that. He finished first on the team in quarterback pressures in 2016 and 2017, and second on the team in 2014, 2015, and 2018. But finishing second on the team in 2018 was no minor accomplishment — he had the fifth most pressures (77) of all edge defenders. In resigning Graham, the Eagles ensure their defensive line remains dominant for years to come.
Mailbag: Why can’t the Eagles draft a running back or a linebacker in the first round already? - PhillyVoice I know there are a lot of fans who would love to see the Eagles draft a running back or a linebacker in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft. Don’t hold your breath. The Eagles just won a Super Bowl 14 months ago by employing the Reid roster-building philosophy.
Redskins, Eagles lead in retention rate but Cowboys selected more starters among NFC East in last five drafts - The Athletic Quantitative outcome: 56 percent retention. Of the 34 players the Eagles have selected from 2014 to 2018, 19 remained on the team’s this past season. Philadelphia is the team with both the second fewest picks and the second fewest players on the team last year. Qualitative outcome: Philadelphia had a single player from this group of 19 that received postseason recognition (Carson Wentz), but otherwise have mostly added players that have created substantial depth and/or eventually became a starter for the group. One can always argue that the team still managed to win its Super Bowl even though their draft picks that last five year haven’t gone on to haul in numerous postseason honors like the Giants or the Cowboys.
Jeremy Maclin’s Journey to the NFL - PE.com Get an in-depth look at how Jeremy Maclin overcame the odds to become an NFL star in this feature from 2012.
Donovan McNabb, Mark Recchi, Fran Dunphy among 2019 Philadelphia Sports Hall of Fame nominees - Philly.com This year’s ballot for the Philadelphia Sports Hall of Fame is out, and the list of nominees has many familiar names from across the local landscape.
Solak: Wide Receiver Positional Rankings - The Draft Network 5) Deebo Samuel: WR, South Carolina. The thing about Deebo Samuel is that he really coulda, shoulda, woulda been a first-round pick in 2018. That leg injury bit a large chunk out of a promising 2017 season, and sapped at his athleticism in 2018 -- a crowded South Carolina receiver room doesn’t help. But Samuel’s still explosive, shifty, and has the long speed to house it. He might be the best YAC option in this class over 200 pounds, and his skill in contested situations is underrated. Ideal WR2 to fill every role on the offense.
NFL Rumors: Are the Redskins really the frontrunner to trade for QB Josh Rosen? - Hogs Haven We’ve already covered the rumor that the Redskins were openly discussing trading for Rosen at the Combine. They have also been linked to every top QB, and almost every mid-tier QB in this year’s draft. The consensus is that they’re going to add a young QB this year, despite what Bruce Allen says. The Redskins hold #15 overall, a 2nd, and two 3rd round picks. Speculation has it taking at least a 2nd this year, and a mid round pick next year to acquire Rosen. But everything can change depending on how many teams are bidding (and if the Cardinals really want to move him).
Is idea Giants are “not in love with Josh Rosen” correct? - Big Blue View “The Giants are not in love with Josh Rosen. Fact.” That was ESPN’s Jordan Ranaan on his “Breaking Big Blue” podcast recently. Ranaan went on to say that you could “forget about it” if the Arizona Cardinals’ asking price for Rosen was the Giants’ 17th overall pick and that the Giants probably wouldn’t give up their second-round pick (37th overall) for Rosen, either. What do I agree with and what, if anything, do I not agree with from Ranaan’s commentary? I think it’s easy to make the case that the Giants don’t “love” Rosen. They, of course, passed on the opportunity to draft him a year ago. Maybe they would have taken Rosen or Sam Darnold a year ago if GM Dave Gettleman hadn’t been ga-ga for Saquon Barkley. We will never know.
DeMarcus Lawrence and Cowboys reach agreement on 5-year deal worth $105M - Blogging The Boys NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport has reported that the deal is set to be a five-year extension worth $105M. That’s $21M per season which is a little over what Lawrence was on with this season’s franchise tag ($20.5). It’s gigantic money for a non-quarterback but he’s worth every penny of it.
Too Favre Gone? Presenting the NFL Unretirement Index. - The Ringer Jason Witten came back. Rob Gronkowski’s agent said he could. Jordy Nelson wouldn’t rule it out. Has unretirement talk replaced the retirement tour?
Dexter Lawrence won’t get a ton of sacks in the NFL. But he WILL run through people - SB Nation Dexter Lawrence is a mountain of a man at 6’4 and over 340 pounds. At that size you might expect him to be strictly a nose tackle. You would be wrong. It’s true you would never mistake Lawrence for a smaller, quicker defensive tackle like Ed Oliver because Clemson moved Lawrence around quite a bit up front. But I actually got to see him play from a nice variety of alignments. He looked comfortable no matter where he was lined up, and he showed an ability to make plays from several different defensive line positions. Yes, Clemson even had Lawrence lined up as a five-technique on occasion. He may not be able to play out there on the edge full-time, but I wouldn’t see any problem with him lining up there every once in a while on early downs. No matter where he lined up, the thing that jumped out at me was how powerful Lawrence is. The guy was really hard to move, and, on a pretty regular basis, he was able to jack up offensive linemen and toss them out of the way like rag dolls.
