No, actually, sir, I believe this form of extortion is known as "graymail." It's much nicer than blackmail.

Ben Whishaw (“Paddington”) and “Happy Valley’s” Sarah Lancashire are set to join Keira Knightley in Netflix’s upcoming spy series “Black Doves,” Variety can exclusively confirm.
More details about the series, which was written and created by “The Lazarus Project” showrunner Joe Barton, have also emerged.
A story of friendship and sacrifice, “Black Doves” is set during Christmastime in London. It revolves around Helen Webb (Knightley), a politician’s wife, doting mother — and professional spy. For years, Helen has been passing on her husband’s secrets to the Black Doves, the shadowy organization for whom she works. But when her lover Jason is assassinated, Helen’s life is turned upside down and only her old friend Sam Young (Whishaw) can keep her safe.
Helen and Sam set out to discover who killed Jason and why. But Sam, a suave, champagne-drinking assassin, also has problems of his own. Out of the game since his last job went wrong, he soon realizes his past is coming back to haunt him.
“Together, they set off on a mission that will lead them to uncover a vast, interconnected conspiracy,” reads the logline. “One that links the murky underworld of London to a looming geopolitical crisis — and leads them to question the cost of the moral choices they’ve made.”
Lancashire will play Helen’s enigmatic spymaster Reed.
Joining Knightley and Whishaw in the six-part series, which began shooting in London last week, are Andrew Buchan (“Carnival Row”), Omari Douglas (“It’s A Sin”), Andrew Koji (“Warrior”), Kathryn Hunter (“Andor”), Sam Troughton (“Chernobyl”), Ella Lily Hyland (“Fifteen Love”), Adam Silver (“The Diplomat”), Ken Nwosu (“Look the Other Way and Run”) and Gabrielle Creevy (“In My Skin”).
“I started writing the scripts for this show over last year’s Christmas holidays, fuelled by turkey sandwiches and discarded bottles of cream liquor,” said Barton. “To be now going into production with a cast and crew full of people whose work I admire so much is unbelievably exciting and I couldn’t be more thrilled to get to see this show come to life.”
“Black Doves” is produced by Joe Barton’s Noisy Bear and Elizabeth Murdoch-founded Sister (“Chernobyl”) for Netflix. Barton exec produces for Noisy Bear alongside Jane Featherstone (“This Is Going To Hurt”) and Chris Fry (“Giri/Haji”) for Sister and Keira Knightley. The series is directed by Alex Gabassi (“The Crown”) and Lisa Gunning (“The Power”). Harry Munday (“Kaos”) is producing.

It's Monday, sir. We all have concerns.
But perhaps some new webcomics will put your mind at ease (even if it's in your disembodied head, rocketing straight into space...)
Our long-running adult science fiction spy thriller with D-grade psychics and talking koalas is A Girl and Her Fed. If you love archive dives into weirdness with a smattering of social commentary and serious art evolution? WELL have we got you COVERED!
Our brand-new YA queer fantasy rom-com is Side Quested. It starts with a reluctant hero rescuing a princess from her tower, and then things go sideways.

FOUR *NEW* chapters for my Secret Invasion Maria Hill Focused Re-write are now posted on AO3!
Chapter 22 - A Friend for the End of the World
Chapter 23 - Is it Fatal?
Chapter 24 - An Association with Fury
Chapter 25 - Where is Fury?
Summary: The end looms near as Maria and Fury try to out scheme Gravik and Raava while the US is on the brink of war with Russia.
(I couldn't decide what AI visuals to use so I used my two favorite visuals of the same scene) - if this offends you I apologize. I am a dyslexic artists turned author and having these visuals helps me feel in the moment when writing. I share them to be inclusive.

Idea for a movie:
The movie is called “In the Background”.
An anthology film comprised of three different stories that are all wildly different from each other. The concept is the idea that every person is the protagonist of their own story and that even background characters have a story worth telling. So, the protagonist of one story shows up as a minor/background character in the previous one.
Here’s how I’d structure the movie -
1) Cold Opening: The first few minutes could be seen as the end of a crime drama movie. A notorious bank robber (played by Brad Pitt) is busted in his final job. Not wanting to spend the rest of his life in prison, he commits suicide-by-cop.
2) The first main story: The main protagonist (played by Gemma Chan) is one of the bank tellers from the cold opening. Her story is a dramedy/romance movie and is about her deciding to go backpacking in Asia to escape how traumatic the robbery situation was. While backpacking through Indonesia, she meets and falls in love with a local musician (played by Iko Uwais).
3) The second main story: The main protagonist (played by Michael B. Jordan) is a CIA agent who was one of the passengers on the plane that the bank teller took. His story is a spy thriller since he had gone to Indonesia to track down a nuclear weapon that ended up in the black market. The agent’s hunt for the missing bomb takes him all the way to London, where he manages to save the day by taking the bad guys out and securing the device. The agent’s story ends with him going to the pub, deciding that he really needed a drink after all the chaos he went through.
4) The third main story: The main protagonist is the bartender (played by Natalie Portman) who served the CIA agent, although she’s unaware of his true identity. The bartender’s story is a psychological horror film and is about her adopting her niece (played by Millie Bobby Brown) who recently lost her parents. As the movie goes on, it’s slowly revealed that the niece killed her parents and is planning on doing the same to her aunt. The bartender’s story ends with her being forced to kill her niece in self-defense, which results in her getting arrested.
5) The ending: After the bartender is driven away by the police, the focus shifts to one of the police inspectors at the scene (played by Simon Pegg), indicating that if the movie were to go on, he would be the new main protagonist. It’s not clear what type of story he would have, which is intentional.

One name isn't enough for the world's undercover personnel. Only results are her priority. The rewards, the travel, the danger. All of it necessary for a secret agent. With a penchant for impersonation and stealth, this modern shapeshifter can blend in and out of any situation, but she doesn't mind getting her hands dirty if that fails.
To her peacekeeper organization, she is Susanna, a dedicated defender of the known world of espionage and information gathering. Aided by her trusted inventor and key gadgeteer, she has the skills needed to slip in and out of perilous situations with ease.
To her megalomaniacal nemesis, she is Pandora, the agent of chaos who foils every scheme with a smirk and one line. Dangerous with explosives, hacking, lock picking, climbing, martial arts, and firearms, she is an army few can hope to defeat.
To her on and off flame, she is Yvette, a confident adventurer who desires passion yet remains unrooted due to her globetrotting escapades and thrills.
She is all of these women with a secret core as shrouded as her activities. No matter what you call her, she will always be on your mind and in your heart as she continues her next mission. For she is...

A Spy Among Friends (2022)
🎬In England in 1963, Nicholas Elliott works for MI6 as an intelligence officer but is left in turmoil when he learns his close friend and colleague, Kim Philby, had been secretly working as a double agent for the KGB, defecting to the Soviet Union.
📝A perfectly executed series that will have to you engaged from the beginning til the very end. Beautifully shot, acted and directed. Loved Guy Pearce but especially Damian Lewis who is just exceptional (as he normally is) in this show. He is so versatile. If you love your spy stories (this is based on Ben Macintyre's book of the same name) then you have to watch it.
It's just brilliant. I binge watched it in two days :-) Damian Lewis is taking a break from acting. We wish him a good time off and all the best and we hope he will return when he feels ready.
