i unfortunately only have two princess mononoke art books. i have The Art of Princess Mononoke, which is the English one where i got the poems, and i have Roman Album Mononoke Hime, which is in Japanese.

i took japanese in highschool and now i dont even remember the kanji for nippon.... so, i cant be sure, but i did find 1 and only one page of what i think is the japanese version of text at the beginning of The Art of Princess Mononoke.

but beyond that, i dont have any more info.

i would check out the list of books on nausicaa.net for other ghibli films, and check if any other stuff contains some of miyazaki's poems.

I think the confusion stems from the assumption/hope/expectation that they'd break up for real (and for good) after a certain amount of time (after the events of the summer and fall was the recurring sentiment), but we've got no evidence of that yet and we probably won't until/unless a public statement gets their stamp of approval (to avoid embarrassment a second time), so as long as that's not in the works...they're gonna keep doing things like her birthday trip and now this. Idk, I come from a family where all three daughters know our parents could have and should have divorced by the time we were teens, but stay together for reasons unrelated to us (because we would not have cared, sry), so seeing other dysfunctional people "stick it out" does nothing except make me roll my eyes. Do I wish they (gen) didn't jump into shit without actually wanting to? Sure. But I can't fix someone else's mistake.

as a base i usually use alkohol markers (i have fancy brands like copic but mostly noname ones), rarely acrylic markers (i dont have enough colours yet, this shit is expensive) and then i make additional layers and textures with pencils, other markers, liners or idk with whatever i can find on my desk

Ok but- hear me out. This is such a long shot and weird post but I was thinking about Hector Barbossa and Margaret Smyth from Pirates of the Caribbean.

Just because Margaret’s story is v unknown, and I don't why I had this very long shower thought about their relationship and I have now created an entire back story for them using what's canon and in my mind changed a few little canon things and realized that doing so could make an entire mini-series that would slap and be the most tragic love story at the same time. and imagine someone rly cool being casted as Hector like maybe joseph quinn (totally not inspired by this tik tok and the amount of people on this darn app who have said jo would make a fine young Barbossa)

What if Margaret was this super rich noble girl a bit like Elizabeth. She meets Hector somehow like maybe she sneaks out to a tavern to escape high society and meets him there.

They quickly fall in love and she ends up joining his pirate ship and they get married. That's how Jack knows about her (I think Jack was on Barbossa's crew when he was younger if I'm not mistaken?). If this actually makes it to Disney, imagine seeing young Jack Sparrow in a series that would be iconic. ANYWAYS. So she stays on his ship, icon and they're married and they live a happy life together as pirates.

But obviously, Margaret's father is pissed, and he wants her back because he can't have his daughter out to be a pirate. And as if on cue, the British government captures her (idk how yet pls i just came up w this), and she's in jail and about to be sent to the gallows. Her dad hears this, and he's a bit cruel so he's like "well you've asked for it by becoming a pirate"

plot twist, she had just discovered she was pregnant (and hadn't told Hector maybe? see that's where I would change the plot bc if Barbossa never knew he had a daughter it would have made things even more interesting.) So she's like dad plz I don't want to be sent to the gallows im expecting :(( and the dude is like well... I can't have you get killed now and so he takes her back to england in secret.

AND POOR HECTOR THINKS SHE'S DEAD. Bc his crew saw her name on the gallows list or something and told him and then he went to the dad and the dad was like "yeah shes dead sry bro"

and the filmmaker in me is really coming out rn because I was thinking of this rly dramatic scene where he's like "well I can't live without her, kill me now" and maybe throws a gun at him. but the dad is like don't be stupid.

and this is when our icon Hector Barbossa starts to become a rly mean ruthless pirate and doesn't give two shits about anything.

And then poor Margaret is like :( and wants to get back to her husband but obvy the dad is mean and tells her he's dead and maybe she dies after she gives birth or just really quickly after I don't remember what's canon. so instead of being raised in an orphanage Karina's being raised by her mean grandpa, they come back to the Caribbean and potc 5 happens. and then when she meets Barbossa he's like "you remind me of someone" and he asks who was her mother when he hears her last name like in the movie and she explains and he's like WTF 0.0

I was thinking of an alternate version where Margaret is actually still alive, just placed in a nuthouse by her dad bc she cannot live this life and is depressed her husband is 'dead'

Like okay we ALL know the ideal Mac BF storyline is: Mac gets a new BF and is very much like fully into him. So much in fact that it takes away from his codependency of Dennis. He stops hanging around the bar as much, stops participating in schemes. The Gang is happy for him but Dennis is FUMING. Like he is absolutely Jealous but also so deep in denial. That's like the BASELINE right there. Like it makes sense for the characters. Idk where else they could go but I'm sure they're gonna find it and THAT makes me worried.

Maybe it's my brainrot, but I fr cannot see a world where a Mac's BF storyline doesn't involve Dennis as the b-plot in some way. I definitely DON'T want it to come off like fanfic either...even though to this day MacDennis fics are some of my absolute fave I've ever read. But I also am on twitter and I know what people be saying and how they talk about MacDen (and other ships for other things) and yeah sometimes it's clear people are just riffing and don't necessarily want something to happen that way in canon. i think there's just a big disconnect between different communities of different streamers. which make sense, bc everyone has preferences, senses of humor, and things they look for when they watch a stream.

i think the main difference is how thick ppl's skins are and how much they want to be babied/cuddled by their streamers, which often translates to how protective the community is of said streamer. and how the community acts in general.

like for example, dream and gnf are very soft (so to say) and look to make everyone as happy and comfortable as possible. and they have stans who would actually fight for them.

and then there's ppl like sneeg, minx, schlatt (sry to bring them up) who stream with a 'take no shit from anyone attitude. u don't like me or my stream? fuck off then.' and they have viewers who just tune in to watch a stream and woulnd't waste too much time on cheap twt drama.

and here it depends on what you want from a streamer, a calm place to chill or someone who's unapologetically themselves, even when it makes them unpopular. sugarcoat and tiptoes or loud and abrasive.

sry unpopular opinion but i have to say this. i've been following the dream drama in the past few weeks and dream stans' reactions, and sometimes there's just tremendous overreactions to certain things. like ppl raging bc they didn't understand the tone of the statement or flat out not accepting apologies when ppl explain themselves. and i'm saying this as a dream stan.

i feel really braindead when i scroll through your asks bc i genuinely don't see if should also be offended like everyone seems or if i'm the only one thinking rationally. idk as someone who grew up chronically online, i'd assume that people who did the same would have thick enough skin to not demand an apology they won't even accept when they're slightly offended or think that they should be offended.

I saw post where ppl fucking hate Miguel and thinks he's genuinely beating up Miles for no reason. (Or at least I think they're genuine. Honestly I just wanna rant about Spiderman across the Spiderverse shit.)

I rly hate hearing how Miguel O'Hara is like bro was out here beating the shit outta kids for fun. He broke a "canon event" in a universe he wasn't a part of. he saw his daughter disappear in his arms, screaming for his help. but this was all his doing. he just wanted to be happy. be wanted his daughter to be happy. this universe Miguel dies trying to save someone, but he wasn't spiderman in this universe. he had no way of protecting hisself. even that Miguel just wanted people to be happy and safe.

He hears that someone else(Miles Morales) is going to do the same thing. Brake a "canon event". Try to make everyone happy, save everyone. At the cost of everyone's life.

In Miguel's mind, why tf would u try to save someone but then them, along with everyone in that universe, will disappear or die.(honestly idk if they die does that even count? or are they just like floating around?)

And when he hears that Miles is trying to do that, and the fact that Miguel himself went through it, and Miles just isn't listening, he gets angry. or maybe scared. or both. whatever the feeling is, it's strong.

He's fighting Miles to stop him from destroying everything. Even the smallest of the smallest to the biggest of the big will be gone. Miles wants to save his dad, but in Miguel's eyes, his dad will die anyways and he will kill everyone along with him.

HOWEVER... canon events can be broken. Gwen Stacy's father was supposed to become captain. However, he quit. So he won't be captain anymore, and if he's not becoming captain anymore that means he won't die.

but that was the canon event.

but the universe is in clear shape.

so canon events are a lie.

So Miguel is wrong.

so how did what happened to Miguel happen?

1 theory is that it's Spots fault but Spot wasn't created at that time.

One thing I can think of is that it's somebody else's fault, like some experiment gone wrong and Miguel got there at the wrong time. But that would be dumb to probably not.

Truthfully, idfk I'm gonna read other theories about it.

Conclusion, Miguel isn't beating Mile's ass for kicks and giggles. He's trying to stop him from destroying his universe and everyone in it by trying to save everyone to begin with. But canon events may not be true. What if we had two cakes?
