Stranger Things S4 spoilers

Eddie Munson is unapologetically himself, he goes around adopting freshman so they wouldn't end up getting bullied. He is diffrent and he is not afraid of it. Eddie Munson is not a coward like the narrative wanted us to believe, he is one of the bravest characters and best, in my opinion. He is charismatic, an older brother figure, an example of how much you can be yourself and its fine. He means so much to me, he did not need an redemtion. He is a hero already, he did not have to die to prove it. The narative did a bad job understanding Eddie. If he does not return for s5, the story just tell us how a diffrent character, a heavily queer coded character, an outcast died and did not get happy ending. This is a bad message, i will keep reading fanfictions cause fuck it, they understand the story and Eddie better than the show itself.

No because if Mike doesn’t turn out to be gay, what was the point of having Will put the painting back in his bag? Why show the two of them having a kind, meaningful conversation, which encourages Will to be hopeful that Mike is into him too, if Mike isn’t actually gay? Why would the writers pay that close of attention to detail if they’re just queerbaiting when queerbaiting is lazy and easy? Why go through the trouble?

at the end of season 3, joyce and hopper plan to go on a date after they defeat the mind-flayer. their plans get disrupted, obviously, when hopper is taken and believed to be dead. as we all know, hopper was alive, and jopper reunites in season 4.

at the end of season 4, max and lucas plan to go on a date to the movies after they defeat vecna. once again, their plans are disrupted because max is in a coma. it’s not certain whether she’ll be okay, but if this parallel is to believed, then max will wake up and go to the movies with lucas in season 5

duffers if you don’t let them have this, i’ll lose my mind.

okay, so i know a lot of people are already saying this, but please stick with me in my delusions for a moment.

i think Eddie might not be dead and here’s why:

1. He got attacked in the same manner as Steve. Demobats on their own can’t kill (no rabies, etc.) So— if Steve was able to survive the exact same injuries, why couldn’t Eddie ? Also, Steve, Robin, and Nancy survived being choked for a really long time, AND El was able to bring Max back from being killed by Vecna. You really want me to believe Eddie died from a couple bites ?

2. They (presumably) left him in the upside down, because he was declared “missing”. No proof of a dead body, we don’t actually see his dead body, we just see Dustin crying over him.

3. He was declared “missing, presumed dead”. He had only been missing shortly, yet was presumed dead. For that to happen someone either has to report their death OR the conditions they went missing under would have to make their death likely, if not certain;

He went missing for 2 days during the spring after—what the town believed to be—an earthquake. It’s warm enough to survive two days alone, and an earthquake happening isn’t enough to just assume the person was dead. He was wanted for a chain of murders and was already on the run/in hiding—the police very likely wouldn’t have just been like “oh he probably died lol” and just stop looking for him ???

Also, I don’t think Dustin would’ve gone to the authorities about it because what would he say ? “He got eaten alive by hell bats” ? They wouldn’t believe him and then would probably start questioning why he was hanging out with someone wanted for murder.

4. Nobody was mourning him. There was that scene between Dustin and Uncle Wayne, yeah, but outside of that scene, everyone in the group seemed completely unbothered. I might not expect Robin, Nancy, or Steve to be utterly heartbroken over him, but definitely Mike, Lucas, Dustin— they lost someone they looked up to as a role model or “big brother” figure.

5. Other deaths were used to move the plot forward, as sad as they were. Barbara’s death got Nancy invested in figuring out what was going on. Bob’s death allowed Joyce and all of them to escape, it also proved how tough these things were and that they will have to adapt new ways of fighting them. Alexei was the one who gave them insight into the what the Soviets were doing and his murder proved how serious things were getting. Billy died protecting the kids, in the most literal sense. They likely wouldn’t have survived if he hadn’t forced himself in between. But Eddie ? What does Eddie’s death do ? Make Dustin sad ? That’s it— that’s all it’s done. It feels like they did it just for shock value.

Anyway, I don’t think Eddie is really dead, I’m still holding out hope he might come back in ST5. It’s probably not that likely, but a guy can dream, yeah ? Honestly, unless it was planned for it to be like this, part of me wonders if they’re going to see how much of their viewers they made angry with Vol. 2 and try to make amends / bring people back in ST5.

Tl;dr — Either the duffer brothers, Joseph Quinn, and all the rest of the cast are pulling a real big “gotcha” moment, or the duffer brothers really are just shitty writers.

I was thinking about vecna and i thought of something… (st 4 spoilers)

Why are Kali’s powers so similar? I mean obviously she cant posses people like Vecna could but they both can make people see things that arent there and use it to freak out the people they are using their powers against.

It makes me wonder how Kali escaped Hawkin’s lab. Maybe Henry/Vecna/001 helped her escape before the massacre?? I know its unlikely but its still fun to think about

I keep needing to remind myself that the duffers are not going to write a bisexual or otherwise m-spec character

No matter how much they pander to shippers in advertising, Byler's not going to happen because they're never going to make Mike bisexual. Steddie wouldn't have happened because they wouldn't have made Steve bisexual.

They're fucking leading us on and they're never going to recognize the sexuality which makes up the largest part of the queer community so we're just gonna have to live with that and find solace in fanfiction
