Today (5/8/22) was the last performance of Moulin Rouge on Broadway with the OGs Aaron Tveit and Ricky Rojas. Also Natalie Mendoza! And this would've been Tam Mutu's last performance if not for covid making him leave last week instead. Happy birthday to the legendary Chita Rivera. I haven’t drawn her yet (weird, right?) but I have the most wonderful memorabilia from her. Back in 2003 (I can’t believe it’s 20 years already!!) I went to see her in Nine, with Antonio Banderas and Jane Krakovski, and it was an incredible experience. She had a big number called Folies Bergere, and had the audience enthralled during it. She got a standing ovation of course. I'm very shy for these things but at the end I waited at the stage door to the cast to come out and sign some autographs. I got to meet her (I'll never forget her beautiful green eyes up close) and she gratiously signed my Playbill. An unforgettable evening all along. Felton was super kind and generous with his time at the Stage Door, sharing laughs, taking selfies, and signing various items of Potter-related memorabilia. Thank you to Tom and also the staff at The Criterion for ensuring this ran so smoothly (via a traditionally British orderly queue). Having grown up on the Harry Potter books and films, 10-year-old me would be overwhelmed to hear that he'd soon meet the actors who played Harry and Draco (and watch them perform on-stage) - amazing! 🎭 2:22 is also a very enjoyable play, for anyone considering watching it. I have extensive notes from Peter Pan Goes Wrong yesterday night, but here’s one of my favorites.

Jonathan Sayer said Dennis thinks he needs to wait in line with everyone else to get into the show. So every night he goes and waits in line to get into the theater. He said that production has told him that he doesn’t need to do it but he does it every night anyways. He also said that sometimes it genuinely takes him a long time to get into the theater
