Just thought of the obvious plot for a Star Fox sequel, and I cannot believe Nintendo hasn't done it yet.
There is no overarching plot. Star Fox are mercenaries. Why not show them doing mercenary work? There's a bunch of unrelated missions. Some of them string together into a storyline, and maybe some of the storylines are loosely connected, but others just stand alone. You fight space pirates. Clean up remnants of Andross' fleets, if it's set after one of the main three (presumably after Zero at this point). Maybe do a search and rescue mission or two on Titania or Fortuna. Go after a bounty, and have homoerotic rivalry between Fox and Wolf, who is going after the same guy. Maybe fight some rogue element in the Cornerian forces like a rebellious general or a corporation or mad scientist following in Andross' footsteps. There's a spooky story arc where you investigate an incursion of alien forces from beyond the Lylat system, or maybe a disappearance Out of This Dimension. Maybe one mission has you dealing with malfunctioning military robots. There are so many possibilities, and it doesn't even have to have a coherent story. I think it'd still work really well as a Star Fox game. Just as long as the focus is on the core rail shooter mechanics with a small amount of all-range mode, and not 50% experimental gameplay or on-foot segments. Please.
A little context: I'm exploring how I would imagine her in a follow-up to Star Fox Zero, in which she is introduced as the bounty huntress "Kursed" and allies herself with Star Fox before joining the team.
I'm also bringing back the idea of basing her fur markings + color off of a "silver" fox (melanistic red/common fox, vulpes vulpes), because 1. I find it more visually appealing tbh, and 2. better contrast with Fox's fur markings + color being closer to that of a typical red fox.

I'm redrawing this sketch on better sketchbook paper because I just adore how I drew her expression <3
If you've watched my Twitch streams recently you'll know I use an animated Slippy avatar to become a crude vtuber.
I made the gifs myself by capturing from videos of Star Fox Guard. For anyone who for some reason wants to download animated gifs of Slippy Toad talking or staring intently at you, here you go.
If you're curious, I use OBS Image Reaction Plugin for my streams.
