My fiancé and I did SG Xayah and Rakan last year for Lvl Up right before covid started. I really love how these costumes came out! I’m planning on fixing up a few of the pieces before getting a proper photoshoot done of them!

Star Guardian Rakan Ears Tutorial(?)

I used:

10 mm EVA foam

Black fur

Left over hair from cutting my wig

Box cutter

16 magnets

Contact cement glue

Don't mind the text, took these straight from my Instagram. But basically I measured my ear and made the foam go precisely around it. I cut the desired length and shape out of paper, tried it on, and when i was happy I cut it out in the foam.

I covered the back and a bit of the sides in fur (I used a cheap pillow case, if you don't want to spend 10 or more bucks). I then cut a rectangle out of the fur and placed it over the ear part so that when you wear the ear, your ear is covered.

I started to cut the black fur cuz it was too long and styled it with hair spray. Then I glued on the cut up pieces of hair from my Rakan wig.

(TIP: never cut fur with scissors, you'll cut into the hair. Instead turn the fur around and cut the back with a box cutter!)

Make your second ear and try it on!!! Very important step. Don't mind me trying to balance them on my ear here. As you can see my ear buds fit under the ears so I'm EXTREMELY pleased😎

I placed four small magnets at the bottom of the ear (and here you can see the ear hole) and four magnets inside of the wig. I have pretty strong magnets so this is security enough for me :)

For the magnets I tried different kinds of glue and contact glue is the best one. And do trim the fur very short before sticking the magnets on.

This was harder than I thought, especially picking one character from each fandom. But here are my favourite characters from 10 different fandoms! 【 Claire Redfield - Resident Evil 】 I would have hoped this one was extremely obvious by how much accidental priority Claire seems to get on his blog. I love how caring she is but how tough she is at the same time. She is brave and honestly I would like to be as brave as her. It doesn’t help that she is my planned cosplay for comic con next year.

【 Gamora - Guardians of the Galaxy / MCU 】I fell in love with Gamora after watching the first movie and that was simply it. Gamora was my first entrance to the rp community on tumblr and my account got quite a few followers around the time of Infinity War and Endgame. For this reason she holds fond memories for me.

【 Lucina - Fire Emblem Awakening 】Narrowing this done to my one favourite was tough so I decided to go with my favourite game instead. I was introduced to Fire Emblem by some new friends that I made at Uni and everything changed from there. We had our own group set up where each of us rped one of the gen 2 characters. Lucina was always my favourite as I love Princesses with swords.

【 Raven - Teen Titans 】My first muse that I rped on Deviant with all those years ago. Raven holds a special place in my heart as she was one of my favourite characters from my childhood. I just thought her powers were super cool.

【 Ashoka - Star Wars 】I was a Star Wars baby growing up and getting so see a character grow and change with me was great. When she appeared in the Mandalorian I nearly cried tbh.

【 Xayah - League of Legends 】This is purely for aesthetic reasons idec and her relationship with Rakan reminds me of me and my bf.

【 Will Graham - Hannibal 】This was my favourite show and honestly I loved Hugh Dancy.

【 Genji Shimada - Overwatch 】Genji is my favourite character to play in Overwatch and I find his story so tragic. Plus cyborg ninja? extra cool.

【 Daenerys Targaryen - GOT 】I have a lot to say about Dany but I’m scared it might turn into a rant about the final season of GOT. Dany was my favourite character the whole way through and I was really rooting for her to make it until the end. As I said, I will not be discussing the end of the series xD
