Sims 2: Andorian Skins (& Antennae)

Three shades of blue, plus a hybrid blue-green and an Aenar skin. Also includes matching antennae using Nixnivis's Andorian Antennae. These are based off of @dreadpirate's Party For One, as usual, and are customized and not townified.

The downside about being customized is that Andorian/Aenar hybrids won't get the skin automatically applied, instead it'll be a 50/50 based off of the parents. To fix that, you would need to change the child's skintone in SimPE. Here is the code for the hybrid skin for convenience:

Anyway, both the skin and antennae are included in the zip file. Models are, from left to right, Aenar on adult female, hybrid on child female, Dark Blue on adult female, Light Blue on elder male, and Medium Blue on teen male.

uh I had more to say about this

When making elder cc (mostly EF but I’m looking to do much more EM stuff too, yay grandpa), I do try to highlight shapes and choose patterns, that - to me - scream: “I’ve lived a good long life. I’m not 21 anymore and I don’t want to be. But I’m no schlub.”

All About Style has always been a huge style inspiration for me for grandmother fashion. That site’s EF clothing was the perfect mix of quirky, fashion-conscious and matronly-cool clothes. Judie had immaculate taste! There’s a reason her cc was beloved, even after years of play.

Much of existing elder cc is on alpha meshes. Those are fine and good! But I feel like elder sims need to be dressed in ‘bulkier’ stuff. It just makes sense to me. There’s tons of older elder CC that I see and like the idea of, but it’s painted on a mesh that is little more than the base EF/EM body shape on top. Idk, skintight sweaters on grandma or grandpa just kind of give me the willies. 😵‍💫 It’s not realistic either.

Plenty of elder cc is also Maxis match. Perfectly fine! Love those shapes way more. There are lots and lots of age conversions that look great on elders. But, I feel like our elders deserve more than a copy and paste of what we already have on offer for adult sims. So, I retexture those age conversions. The clothes just need to be stuffier, with more mature colors and patterns. Just, have more of a mature “vibe”.

On a more tinfoil hat note (lol), I think some simmers do not like to play elders at all, and that has everything to do with fearing age itself. And not having a worthy selection of clothes for them, that too. 😂

But I mean, there are mods to skip elderhood entirely. And a clothing mod to make elders have the standard AF chest instead of a sagging one exists, and that has existed forever. It’s like one of the oldest mods out there! And a mod to make them not have the “elder” walk. All things to make them less “oldpersony”.

Elders are thought of as being boring or unimportant sims, something to avoid, unappealing. I think that says way more about how people feel about aging themselves. But I think it’s much more freeing to embrace and enjoy a stage of life that I’ll face myself.

And let me know who I should look to next for style inspiration. I’ve already gained inspirash from: the Golden Girls, the oracle from the matrix, Eartha Kitt as madame Zeroni in Holes, probably anything Stevie Nicks has worn recently, anything Judi Dench has worn as M in the Bond movies, André Leon Talley (rip), Sag Harbor, Eddie Bauer and Squaw Valley sweaters and long skirts from the 90’s, what Diane Keaton is wearing in any movie, any era, Guinan from Star Trek: Next Gen (slay, the colors especially), thinking if it would look good on current day Jane Seymour then go for it, my friend whose mom is a high school art teacher, a sprinkle of Mrs. Doubtfire, a sprinkle of Miranda Priestly, and of course, anything Prue Leith wears.

Sims 2: Trill Spots Overlay Box

My initial instinct was to do a Trill skin, but I realized overlays had a lot of advantages, mostly people can use whatever skin they want and aren't stuck with my choices, also you can have Klingon/Trill or Andorian/Trill hybrids. So... I learned how to do overlays just for this.

Spots are from this skin, I considered doing options from the genesims skins as well but I wasn't too thrilled with the looks of those spots, so I just recolored those spots a few times.

There are four different colors, labeled Alpha, Beta, Gamma, and Delta: A medium brown, a dark brown, a black, and a dark blue-grey. From left to right on the preview, Alpha on a tan default, Alpha on a light default, Beta on a medium default, Beta on a dark default, Gamma on the darkest of my Klingon skintones, Delta on the lightest of my Andorian skintones, and Delta on a skin the color of Pooklet's Hangfire. They're all wearing Castaway conversions so you can see the spots on the body.

My recommendation is Alpha for lighest skintone - Maxis tan, Beta for Maxis medium - Maxis dark, Gamma for anything darker, and Delta for aliens, but of course you can choose whatever, it just might take a bit of fiddling to get the spots to show up if your skin happens to be close to the color of the spots. Hopefully I included enough options...

Works for toddler-elder, both genders, the overlay box is a mannequin head with the Trill spots found in Misc > Dressers. Huge thanks to @themeasureofasim and @platinumaspiration for their tutorials (1) (2), because I was a bit lost at first and both of those helped me stumble through. Will I do another overlay box in the future? I have no idea. For now, though, I need to go back to something with less GUID fuckery.

Please let me know if there are any issues with this as this is my first overlay box!

This is amazing, but I just downloaded and have many questions: First, are the characters you made available for download too (Picard, Data, etc)? Second, after getting the uniforms and putting them into my mods folder, I noticed they aren't there, maybe I'm just looking past it, is it a alternative color for another outfit? Third, in a lot of your images I see you have a space skyline, is that another mod, or just an edit? If so I'd really apperciate getting a link to it. Fourth, not a question, but a thank you. The Sims community doesn't seem to show much love towards Star Trek, not sure why, it seems like the two would be a match made in heaven-- but I digress. It's nice that someone put the two together. Not to mention it actually looks and so far has been amazing to play with.

1: the characters are not currently available for download. i might get around to it someday, but when i made them, i didn't think other people would be interested, so i set up the files very messily. i'd have to untangle all those messes for them in order to follow correct guidelines, as i've incorporated edits of other CC creators' items. it would take re-extracting / re-making many of them. and lately i've not had much energy :<.

2: the uniform is a separate item and has a custom icon in the male category:

make sure to download the mesh required for it: MahoCreations' Jacket Envyen from TSR.

3: the starry skyline is actually falling snow :). i like to have it snowing on this lot bc it looks reminiscent of a starry space view.

Hi, I also play sims 4 and it’s a shame you can’t use CC cause I just found some things that can make your character a trill, a bajoran, a cardassian , a Klingon, a borg, and Star Trek uniforms and I’ve been having a time with those.

That sounds like a lot of fun! At some point I might switch to PC and explore the game that way.
