Everyone says she's the most beautiful of them all, and she knows it.

U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-D

Sensuous, curvaceous... and highly unstable. Say one wrong word and it's warp core breach time.

U.S.S. Defiant NX-74205

Squat. Stubby. Completely. Fucking. Insane. Even look at her the wrong way and she's chasing you with pulse phaser cannons blasting.

U.S.S. Voyager NCC-74656

She seemed nice enough. You had a date lined up but she got lost on the way. There were search parties sent out and everything.

Enterprise NX-01

A lot older than she looks. She'll only give you the bare basics, but she does them well.

U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 (Kelvin Universe)

She's big all over, you kinda suspect she's on steroids and HGH. Loads of fun to be around, but every night out is a catastrophe ending with her in hospital and hundreds of dollars worth of property damage.

U.S.S. Discovery NCC-1031

She's got a nice big booty, but she's into hallucinogenics, keeps popping up in completely random places and seems to change personality every year.

La Sirena NAR-93131

Smol and covered in tattoos, gets knocked down but always gets back up again. Carries lots of emotional scars.

U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701 (SNW)

She reminds you of someone else you loved dearly, and it's complicated because she's definitely nice but you're not sure if it's her you want or if you'd just do anything to have your ex back.

Oh, and before you ask? The U.S.S. Protostar is too young for you.

commander/captain james k’wayyd (he/she)

- aenar-andorian. doesn’t have a traditional andorian name due to being raised on earth by a human-vulcan couple. struggled a lot with identity growing up away from andorian culture, but later in life left his first ship (USS cerritos) as a junior lieutenant to live on andoria for a few years before returning to starfleet to assist with conflict. was formerly navigation/command division before switching to sciences, combining his navigation skills with astronomy.

lieutenant commander dhy’la byre (she/her)

- bajoran. very much chill but serious about her work, doesn’t take lightly to messing around during work hours. she’s loud and can yap your ears off, but people tend to enjoy listening to her anyways.

ensign/junior lieutenant rhea m’ghon (she/her)

- orion-trill. likes to stick with herself. doesn’t like most people but still desperately wants everyone’s approval. doesn’t speak much about her home life. admires dhy’la from a distance.

chief medical officer isothaal “iso” ch’loya (they/them)

- aenar. tired disaster lesbian. always in some heartbreak or love triangle. midlife crisis all the time. everyone loves them and they love everyone. they are almost completely blind, only able to detect some light levels through their eyes.

ensign o’lynn maalh (he/they)

- vulcan-andorian. mostly nonverbal. botanist, spends basically all his time in the lab. feels like plants get him better than most people. despite this, shark tries desperately to be their best friend. he does have a soft spot for the andorian and lets her be “annoying”.

junior medical officer shark zh’kayo (any)

- andorian. super high energy all the time. most people can’t handle it, but she doesn’t mind. spends a lot of time with o’lynn and t’penne, although the three were closer before he got promoted.

ensign t’penne (she/they)

- vulcan. t’penne has an untraditional mindset regarding emotions and logic. still stoic and monotonous in her ways, she is much more expressive than vulcans typically are (which, albeit, isn’t much). she believes it’s illogical to repress emotion as far back as vulcans do, especially when it doesn’t cause any harm or disruptions in her life and work.

Time and time again, Starfleet would attempt to replicate the success of the original Constitution-Class and it's refit, but few if ever were as successful as the original. The Vesper-Class was an attempt to combine the Excelsior-Class's ubiquity in a smaller Constitution-esque frame, developed alongside the Ambassador. It wasn't very successful

U.S.S. Bozeman NCC-1941 Deep Dive

Seen only once in "Cause and Effect", the U.S.S. Bozeman is one of my favourite Trek ship designs. It takes the U.S.S. Reliant/Miranda class design seen first in Wrath of Khan and bolts 4 giant forward facing gun turrets on, pops new TOS-style domes on top and beneath the saucer and adds a third shuttlebay in the rear. And Fraiser Crane himself is her captain.

A rare look at the entire Bozeman bridge set, from @trekcore

The bridge was the standard TNG guest ship set, which with minor or major adjustments stood in for everything from the Enterprise-D battle bridge to the Stargazer, the U.S.S. Hathaway, the Enterprise-C and with non-Starfleet graphics, Picard's "Gambit" pirate ship. As the Bozeman, and to go with her TOS-style bridge dome, the railing along the back is painted the same red as on the TOS bridge, and the rear consoles are all modified to look like a mix of the classic movie and TOS panels.

Of course, a novel was written to flesh out the backstory of Captain Morgan Bateson and the U.S.S. Bozeman. Written by Diane Carey and published in 1997, Ship of the Line gives the Bozeman a crew, a squidlike pet/mascot thing and a rich backstory. And it has lots of colourful details about the ship itself:

She's not an exploration starship like 90% of Trek ships, she's an armed-to-the-teeth border patrol cutter, answering not to Starfleet Command but the Starfleet Border Service. She even had flashing red and yellow police lights!

The novel does have some pretty noticable continuity issues with "Cause and Effect", most notably an all-male crew when the episode itself shows Bateson on the bridge with two women, but it's still one I am very fond of.

One of Jackill's Star Fleet Reference Manuals (unofficial publications, note "Star Fleet" as two words), calls the Bozeman an "attack frigate" and runs wild, calling those huge canons "multi-phasic mega phasers", and the turrets on the lower dome "particle accelerators". Don't mess with the Bozeman, she'll fuck your shit up real good.

The recent Eaglemoss publication Star Trek Starships 2151-2293 (2018) covered the Bozeman, and took a far more conservative approach, calling those turrets "sensor pods" which according to old BTS interviews was always their intended function, much to my disappointment.

So there's your exhaustive guide to the U.S.S. Bozeman NCC-1941. She was also mentioned in radio chatter in the movie Star Trek: First Contact and appeared briefly in a few other novels, comics and games.
