Celeste from Bridgewater 🫶
I had been wanting to draw her for a while now, so here you go!! I have been on that fanart since mid September so I’m very glad to be done with it!!
The character design comes from me, I didn’t have really major inspo for the outfit unlike for the Legend Tripper so I had a few vague inspo pics and that’s it, I wanted to have the witchy esoteric lady vibe I felt she had listening to the podcast, hence the pile of necklaces/trinkets with the pentacle of protection, also for the belt the main idea was to make the metal parts the phases of the moon as they’re important when it comes to esoteric beliefs, and for the skirt I tried to redo the Aquila constellation (which I had found the meaning “guidance, psychic work, astral travel”) and also Ursa Major (“healing, protection, survival”) I kept it between random stars and the way the fabric is folded doesn’t really help to actually recognise them ksksks
And thank you so much @thelaurenshippen my uni week did go well!! 🫶 (I’m on my fifth week of my third year of English studies the French joy to also have to study linguistics, history and stuff when you want to study English literature ksksks) I hope your week is going well as well 🫶‼️ and once again thank you SO MUCH for your support it truly means the world to me and I always feel so honoured 😭💜

BLUE SUNSHINE (1977) – Episode 176 – Decades Of Horror 1970s
“There’s a bald maniac in there, and he’s going bat shit!” Believe it or not, this is an accurate description of several scenes in this movie. Join your faithful Grue Crew – Doc Rotten, Chad Hunt, Bill Mulligan, and Jeff Mohr – as they check out this representative of the 70s LSD-scare hype, Blue Sunshine (1977) from Jeff Lieberman, the director of Squirm (1976).
Decades of Horror 1970s Episode 176 – Blue Sunshine (1977)
Join the Crew on the Gruesome Magazine YouTube channel! Subscribe today! And click the alert to get notified of new content! https://youtube.com/gruesomemagazine
A bizarre series of murders begins in Los Angeles, where people start going bald and then become homicidal maniacs. But could the blame rest on a particularly dangerous form of LSD called Blue Sunshine that the murderers took ten years before?
Writer/Director: Jeff Lieberman
Selected cast:
Zalman King as Jerry Zipkin
Deborah Winters as Alicia Sweeney
Mark Goddard as Edward Flemming
Robert Walden as David Blume
Charles Siebert as Detective Clay
Ann Cooper as Wendy Flemming
Ray Young as Wayne Mulligan
Alice Ghostley as O’Malley’s Neighbor
Stefan Gierasch as Lieutenant Jennings
Richard Crystal as Frannie Scott
Bill Adler as Ralphie
Barbara Quinn as Stephanie
Adriana Shaw as Barbara O’Malley
Bill Sorrells as Ritchie Grazzo
Jeffry Druce as Junkie
Brion James as Tony
Blue Sunshine is a request from a Grue Believer that has popped on and off the 70s schedule depending on its streaming availability and that of other films on the Grue Crew’s list. At long last, it made it through to the recording schedule as Jeff’s pick for this episode and he is impressed with the surprisingly good cast of actors familiar to TV viewers of the time. He kind of likes the idea of the chromosome-altering, 10-year time bomb included in a designer version of LSD, and the trippy music – highly appropriate for the period and the subject – is to his liking. However, Zalman King’s overboard approach to method acting, though he’s directed to do so as a red herring, is off-putting.
“The longest hour-and-a-half he’s had to sit through” is how Chad describes Blue Sunshine. He didn’t care for the story or the characters and Zalman King’s character’s lack of feeling for personal space is annoying as hell. On the plus side, he is hilariously amused by Ray Young’s portrayal of Wayne (or “Biff,” as Chad calls him) and his final rampage. Bill agrees with Chad on the unlikeability of King’s character calling his performance more like meth-head acting than method acting. He doesn’t buy into the conspiracy presented, but admits, Blue Sunshine is definitely a 70s film. Doc had a great time with Blue Sunshine. The bizarre and quirky lead, Bryon James flapping around, “Biff’s” murder spree, and the crazed bald maniac look are just a few of his trigger trippers in this movie.
Blue Sunshine certainly isn’t for everyone, but if you’re a director Jeff Lieberman (Squirm, 1976) completist or are in the mood for some LSD-fueled political intrigue dressed up as a horror movie, this should fit the bill. At the time of this writing, Blue Sunshine is available to stream from Shudder.
Be sure to check out The Black Saint’s and Doc Rotten’s take on Squirm in Decades of Horror 1970s #6!
SQUIRM (1976) – Episode 6 – Decades Of Horror 1970s
Gruesome Magazine’s Decades of Horror 1970s is part of the Decades of Horror two-week rotation with The Classic Era and the 1980s. In two weeks, the next episode in their very flexible schedule, chosen by Bill, will be The Legend of Lizzie Borden (1975), an ABC TV movie of the week starring Elizabeth Montgomery. How does that go? Forty this and forty-one that or something like that?
We want to hear from you – the coolest, grooviest fans: comment on the site or email the Decades of Horror 1970s podcast hosts at [email protected].

Audio dramas are amazing. Can you believe we get to have these stunning works of art made by literally anyone who has a vision and will and find a way just because they're passionate enough not to give up?
Podcasts are my favourite thing about this century, holy crap the amount of thanks and hugs I want to give so many of these creators. Like they just...make these stories with these awesome characters and just...give them to us??? For free??? And we love them so much we do everything we can to help them keep making the thing we love???
It's just an amazing thing and I love it and the people who create them are actual heroes.

Important information. Really not surprising that the ‘depressed’ column is the only thing completely filled up.

I'm looking for a podcast that has a bit of mystery and weirdness. A podcast that feels like a night eight days after new moon. Something where reality made a step to the left so everything appears familiar but mirrors don't work.
My craving is so specific ugh. @dreamboypodcast gets closest to what I'm looking for. Is there anyone who can recommend me something similar?

Can someone rec me some good sci-fi podcasts? Preferably with comedy and romance please and thank you 🙏🏼
So far (in that kinda genre) I‘ve finished: Wolf 359, ars Paradoxica, and recenty (as in, three days ago): EOS 10, Star Tripper
Also I‘ve recently started: King Falls AM, The Penumbra Podcast, the Bright Sessions, the strange case of starship Iris
But I‘d like some more comedy and preferably romance haha so if anyone could recommend anything I‘d be super duper grateful 🙏🏼💕

@pretend-to-be-asleep asked for Wolf 359. Oh boy.
Tumblr media
Wolf 359. What a fucking podcast. It’s a true favorite for me, as I loved this so much.
Doug Effiel is a Communications Officer on the Space Station Hephaestus which orbits the start Wolf 359.  A comedy and drama in space, and it’s so good. Like really. Like most podcasts, Weird Shit tm goes on. This includes, but not limited to: A crazy Russian performing science, a deadly virus, sentient plant monsters, ALIENS,  AIs, guns IN SPACE, explosions, etc.
Yeah, this was a favorite. The story flowed so fantastically, from comedy to drama and some really dark shit. There was no real filler, each episode carrying the episode along without being choppy. It was funny too, I really liked the comedy and the campiness of the first few episodes (I did miss that). But overall? It was a ride that I was happy to be there for every bit. And if that doesn’t sell you, this was one of 3 podcasts I’ve relistened to multiple times.
Podcast Recommendations:
EOS 10. Okay this is like a sitcom but in space and with medicine. It’s hilarious and is honesty all around just good. A big favorite of mine too. Will I say more? No. It’s funny, it’s dramatic, it’s good. Just go fucking listen, okay?
Girl in Space. The audio records and diary of a girl, X, drifting through space. Nobody knows who she is, and even she doesn’t. But everyone wants to fucking know, and she’s got no answers. Space? Y e s. Drama? yes. It’s a good calm podcast to curb your cravings.
ars PARADOXICA. Dr. Sally Grissom accidentally time traveled back in time. Might as well make the best of it, right? It follows her life as she lives it out dealing with things such as World War II, time traveling, people stuck in a place outside of time, the government, communism, and all of that. It’s good. :))
King Falls AM. This is my favorite podcast, I’ve just fallen in love with it. It follows two radio hosts as they get calls about the weird shit going on in town. And by weird shit like abductions and shadows. One’s a believer and one’s a skeptic.I’m just going to let you use your imagination. Funny? Yes. Drama? Yes. Made me cry? Yes. All the key components for a good podcast.
We Fix Space Junk. (totally didn’t steal this review from my earlier post)  The universe is your oyster unless you’re in crippling debt to Automnicon. Kilner and her reluctant fugitive partner, Samantha, travel around the galaxy going odd jobs trying to escape their oppressive capitalistic overlords. British? Yes. Funny? Yes. Strong female leads? Yes! Cyborgs? Hell yes. I recently just got into this, but I love it.
Time:Bombs. This is made by the same creators that brought Wolf 359, so of course, it’s good. It has most of the same actors and follows the mishaps on New Year’s Eve night of a bomb squad. It’s funny, wild, and overall great. Downside? It’s only three episodes which are not enough to curb my addiction.
MarsCorp. (totally didn’t steal this either) A pretty good British comedy that follows Station Supervisor E.L. Hob who tries to get a colony on Mars up to spic and span. Except of course it isn’t easy, as she was taken out of cryo about four and half centuries late. SHe tries to turn Marscorp around, having to deal with its gross incompetence and overall weird.
Others I don’t want to give a description but you might like:
SAYER
Uncanny County
The Bright Sessions
The Penumbra Podcast
Inkwyrm
Star Tripper

Glad tidings, fine listeners! Yesterday on twitter, Star tripper!! finally announced they'd wrapped recording on season 2. Oh Feston, I'm so glad you're coming back! It felt like there would be more seasons, but there were only 13 episodes since 2018. 😭😭😭🥳🥳🥳 But I get ahead of myself. Star tripper!! is a podcast about Feston Pyxis, a guy who worked as an office drone, got fed up and sold his action figure collection to travel the galaxy--in the exact same make and model of starship as his fictional childhood hero. Feston and his trusty AI ship's computer, Proxy, travel the galaxy looking for adventure, meeting people, making friends, solving problems, and doing temp work as needed for fuel and food. Star Tripper!! is one of the few I can say I've been all in on since the very beginning. It's just a fun, happy go lucky space adventure story, and I couldn't be more happy it's coming back. If you like, well...sweet, fun adventure stories, this will be your cup of tea, there's just nothing like it. Maybe like hitchhiker's guide was carefree, or We Fix Space Junk didn't have Automnicon? It won multiple Audioverse Awards in 2018. And features Ian McQuown, as Feston, of Bright Sessions fame, and created by Julian Mundy, co-creator of Ars Paradoxica.
