"Shin is simply a better character than Reva"
HOW!?
She has barely any characterization!
8 episodes and we know nothing about her!
And don't give me that "well 2nd season" crap! She's apparently a major character, we shouldn't have to wait 2-3 years for a second season to learn anything about her!

Once again, I am begging people to start questioning the actions of Star Wars writers and executives.
Why is the “greedy, resource hogger” character a fat, disabled man?
Why is the Black man the “violent terrorist whose impacts are useless except to harm others?”
Why are the main characters whitewashed?
Why is the autistic man killed after his disability was finally acknowledged?
Why does the woman die of no reason other than apparent sadness?
Why?

I think the Ahsoka show should have flashbacks that completely decanonize the Wrong Jedi Arc. Ahsoka left the Jedi Order for reasons completely unrelated to Barriss Offee, her crush who did not bomb the Jedi Temple.

I wish that ppl didn’t consider “being upset about racism in the media’s writing/fan reaction” to be “being a Debbie downer” and “being fandom police”
Like I’m a person of color. Yes it’s going to be off putting when there is racist writing in a show. Yes it’s going to be off putting when racist fans of a media franchise come out of the woodworks whenever a person of color is even on screen. It’s actually a regular reaction to go “hey that’s kind of fucked up” when something is awful like that.

Random headcanon I think the Feral that Savage killed was a fake created with magic or something. It makes no sense to me for Mother Talzin end her own bloodline so easily just to help an estranged nightsister get revenge on Dooku. Even if they're not actually her sons, they are still Maul's blood, potentially powerful Force users. She was already sending one of them away on a purpose he would likely not return from, why kill the other and destroy a promising family.

No, let's talk about it.
If it ever seems like there are very little active Black star wars fans in online spaces, just know reylos did that.
Even before the laying pipe situation and the freemyniggajay incident, a vast majority of them were either being viciously antiblack or closing rank around reylos who were being viciously antiblack.
They mass reported Black fandom blogs and propped up Black reylos whenever they were called out for doing so, they edited Kylo over Finn during intimate scenes between Finn and Rey then acted like Black fans were overreacting when we pointed out how racist that was, the mountains of racist fanfiction they wrote about finn then posted in the finn tag including one where he was a slave and so much more.
They worked hard to push Black fans out of these spaces and they did it on purpose, dont let the rebrand fool you.

okay, Satan, I hear you, I hear you, but let's settle down, nobody needs me to complain on main about them using "Count Dooku!!!" to describe Dooku during his Jedi Master training Qui-Gon years in the synopsis. A very small wording choice that indicates nothing. This isn't a red flag for enjoying Dooku's portrayal as a genuine Jedi for 50 years. I bet the plot will be very nuanced about that topic. I bet no one, especially not me, will need to make a drinking game out of moments of the Ominous Jedi Dooku starter pack:
Heavy Handed Foreshadowing? Take a drink.
Dooku complains about a legitimate Senate Problem, but it goes on a little long in a way that makes everybody at the dinner table uncomfortable? Take a drink.
"If THE COUNCIL would just LISTEN...!"? Take a shot.
Overt use of Dark Side power in front of another Jedi who looks blithely on? Hurl book into the ocean.
Of course, I'm bitching like I didn't just smash that preorder button. LISTEN I JUST THINK ALL JEDI DOOKU COMICS SHOULD BE HIM TEACHING LIGHTSABER PRESCHOOL OKAY?? That Yoda comic was really the peak of this. Where Dooku was adorable and nothing, uh, horribly bad ever happened in subsequent issues. Sheev who??

I just read a post from a byler fan saying Noah fucked up his whole career and won’t get work now from that post. Like… most of hollywood and even non hollywood businesses, and governments, are openly supporting Israel and even Shawn Levy is supporting Noah(and not to play into stereotypes but they do realize a lot of jewish americans work in the entertainment biz??? hello? lol) so are these people just young and stupid cause I am like… bruh lmao. They are all omg he needs to clarify that palestine is not hamas or he’s not against palestine or whatever they said blah blah and im like … he did? IF YOU HAVE READING COMPREHENSION he was pretty clear he was not condemning the palestinian people? he literally said as much. BC HAMAS IS NOT THE PALESTINIAN PEOPLE. like unless you are stupid af or you openly support a terrorist group, how is that confusing to you? how can the same people who can pick apart the subtext of byler be so willfully stupid in this regard? I can’t take them seriously. To believe he ruined his whole career for not denouncing Isreal and cheering on Palestine the second after hamas slaughtered hundreds of Jews in a place he has ties to. Do they stop to even think about what they are saying?????? I hope for their sake these people grow up and gain a few brain cells
lmao! antis have wanted noah to flop for a long time and expect him to be jobless after stranger things. he will be just fine, even if he decides to take a break from acting. some people also want season five to be cancelled because there are “too many zionists” in the cast and crew 😭 truly dense. there are genuinely horrible people who still work in hollywood and the entertainment industry but they want noah and people with similar views gone just because they condemn terrorism? btw angry people reading this, i’m referring to hamas.
it is indeed ironic that bylers are able to analyse and pick up subtext but struggle to comprehend what noah said. i’m sure if you said the weather is wonderful in israel, you’re a zionist or islamophobic! israel is a negative buzzword atp. for good reasons, yeah. but it’s not black and white. social media would be a lot more tolerable in general if people were able to read and not jump the gun if they see buzzwords or don’t understand the context.

My brain works perfectly fine.
Head coverings and veils are not exclusive to Muslims (in fact, they're not even close)
There are numerous female Milialans in Star Wars who don't wear one of those at all.
"Coded" as you are using it is literally nothing but stereotyping. "This character covers her hair, so she MUST be a Muslim." If Barriss had been created to deliberately serve as a representation of Muslims in a setting where they don't exist, that would be one thing. But that is objectively not what happened. And even if you were using it in the allegorical context, it still requires explicit intent on the part of the creators. Point me to where George Lucas or Dave Filoni or anyone else intended for the Miralans to be seen as space Muslims, and then we'll talk.
Barriss Offee is not "Muslim-coded". End of story.
I’m having some doubts because you’re not listening to what I am very clearly saying.
I am aware that head coverings are not exclusive to Muslim women. What I’m saying is that when you have a character that wears a garment similar to a hijab and then have said character commit an act of terrorism against a temple for no reason other than to victimize the main character it’s a bad look.
I am not saying all Mirialans are Muslim-coded, I am saying that Barriss is Muslim-coded
You’re right! Coding does depend on stereotyping. To code a character is to assign certain recognizable traits to characters (usually non-human) to identify them as part of a group without explicit labeling them as such. Like I don’t know how to communicate this any clearer: coding doesn’t have to be intentional, and in fact is often accidental. It’s why so many Disney villains are read as gay even though that might not have been the intent. I’m not saying she’s Muslim, I AM saying that she is coded as such. Because Star Wars takes so much inspiration from all over the globe (and often from middle eastern cultures) it’s gonna happen. Even if it’s accidental it still happened, and it still took a character who had previously had no such inclinations towards evil and made her bad just for the sake of having a villain.Racism is racism if its purposeful or accidental or coded into a character
bonus round! Come off of anon and face me, coward.

Just so we're clear - because I've seen this way too much recently - not all reylos are implicitly racist? Not sure why this is hard to grasp for y'all.
The misbelief comes from the assertion that because reylos don't want Finn and Rey to be romantically endgame, they're racist because they don't want a white heroine involved with a black hero. On the surface, I understand these concerns. Rey is the morally pure white heroine. For her to be anything but Finn's friend complicates the comforts of traditional, conservative American society. However, I am not trying to undermine the validity of interracial relationships in storytelling or in real life by finding the reylo dynamic more appealing. We can and should include more representation of interracial couples in all storytelling mediums and genres.
Personally, the mythicality and balance between Rey and Ben is simply more exciting than the possible strangers to friends to lovers dynamic Rey and Finn could have had.
I've also seen criticisms of reylo as it relates to Kylo Ren being essentially an active agent for the First Order, the newest iteration of Star Wars space Nazis. Rest assured, internet, I also hate the First Order and what they stand for. Additionally, I hate what Ben Solo did when he was called Kylo Ren. Most, if not all, reylos will condemn the actions and ideologies of Kylo Ren. Reylo is and always has been about Ben Solo's inevitable redemption. He couldn't be with Rey until he reconciled his evil choices. (And most of us are wholly dissatisfied with how TROS inadequately addressed Kylo Ren's redemption).
We do also know that there's a very large overlap between stormpilot shippers and reylos right??? (ie reylos are the same people who want a gay relationship between a black man and a hispanic man, both of whom are fervent believers in violent revolution against a white supremacy-coded regime. Cathartic as hell and a 'fuck you' to the real basement-dweller racist Star Wars fans if you ask me.)
Anyway, hope this helps.

Does this person not realize how racist they come off looking in this scenario? I would honestly love for them to stop talking about the Mandalorians.
