OH BOY OH BOY OH BOY OH BOY!!!!! (imagine, if you will, that as I am saying this, I am rubbing my hands together, jumping up and down like a little boy allowed to pick 1 (one) candy from the candy store)

INTERGALACTIC IDIOTS (which I abbreviate as igi) is a starbound askblog from the long far away past of 2017. It follows KUIPER (ky-per) URSA, a nvoakid in the Protectorate. He's a freshman and he's having a really rough time with the Everything: making friends, keeping up with classes, and dealing with his own anxiety.

A few asks in and we're introduced to (our favorite) BERYLLIUM LIUMITE, Beryll for short. He's actively making Kuiper's life worse just by being a shit ass roommate. He gets better, but it's only after a *toots my little horn* BLOG EVENT!

I can absolutely summarize the entire blog (with pictures) but I'm holding back. I do rereads at least once every few months. I didn't get to choose my special interest, but I do choose to actively make myself a participator in enjoying it. I find that enjoying it makes me feel less insecure about the whole Autism thing and so that's why I post about it so much.

It hasn't updated in around 4 years, but I still enjoy it :)

Would making a starbound oc askblog be worth it in 2022? I’ve never run an askblog before but would like to try it and I’ve been playing SB since the beta so I have a good amount of developed ocs.

I'm gonna be honest with you, 'Non, I'm still quite fresh to Tumblr ^.^' I'm assuming an Ask Blog is where folk send in questions and you answer, as your characters perhaps?

There clearly is still interest in Starbound on Tumblr, but the thing is: I'm very happy with throwing my silly little builds and stories and other shenanigans into the void and the void being indifferent. An Ask Blog sounds like it needs far more interaction from a willing audience than what I'm doing.

I think my answer is going to have to be - try and see. Give yourself a few months for things to get going, and don't get too discouraged if it doesn't take off. Maybe make use of the anon feature to send yourself asks to get the ball rolling.

Let me know if/when you make it so I can send you some asks & encourage a little bit of love.

truth be told i made most of the characters in laurelverse when I was like 13-14 so they need a bit of changing, but the mains don't since they're who i was playing as with Ark. however that means if you followed me during my starbound / space-pirate-squabbles / askblog phase you'll see reoccurring characters

Hello! It's been one year since I posted the first page of c2censuscomic (name...still pending) and since then ive made... 7 pages total. That being said! I'm proud of the pages I've made! It feels great to see a finished page after hours of drafting, linework, coloring etc. and I could see myself improving with each page. However, I started this comic very impulsively with a skeleton of an idea with very little direction. Every new page I had a new idea for the story going forward, which made me want to completely change pages that I had already posted. I still don't have a real draft for the story, so: I'm going to step back for awhile until I do.

When I begin posting this comic again, the updates will likely be larger and have more complete arcs so I can confidently go back and change stuff if I need to. That is, when I have the time to write out and draw a full color comic. Which will probably not be for awhile. Because I am entering my second year at college and I'll be pretty busy focusing on my studies.

But! I'm not going to stop drawing starbound oc comics! I'm just going to change my approach. While the story of the C2 Census is wildly incomplete, there are many more stories to be told with Thierri's Crew in more shortform, limited palette comics. And if all goes well I'm tentatively planning on starting up an askblog around December! I'm hoping that by making more regular comics and limiting the time I spend on them, I can improve my time management and speed/ease when making other comics.
