Hey I was wondering on what you think Lance comes from? I always gotten the feeling he's Indian. Also are you going to do Ridgeside Valley? Two things I sould concern you on. 1: Most of the characters at least marriage wise have canon backgrounds, though some of them as far as I can tell do not, the vast majortiy have surnames, though if they do not, it's because they are meant to be mysterious, you can go to wikia and go under trivia, to see what ethnic group they have.

I've been thinking about Lance for a long time, actually. He's one of the more tricky characters that I've been meaning to give a background to. Even in SVE there isn't much detail given about who he is as a person (besides being a magical swordsman), so pinpointing something best suited to Lance has been challenging.

But given that he appears on Ginger Island, has his home base somewhere in the Gem Sea, and makes you Tropical Curry a lot once you get married, I've been thinking of giving him a Latin-Carribean background. (Though I really like your suggestion that he could be Indian too).

As for Ridgside Village, I would need to ask the mod author if it would be okay for me to make cultural marriage mods for their characters. They may have plans to do it already or perhaps aren't interested in collaborating with anyone and I don't want to overstep.

If they do agree, I'll be sure to take a close look at each character, their canon background, and their surnames to decide what would suit each person best. I'll also be sure to ask the author directly if they have any specific background they would have in mind. Thanks for the heads up :) But rest assured more fun cultural mods for Stardew are coming soon!
