As someone who’s had unsupervised internet access since about seventh grade, aka about the time I started to really get into superheroes (and more specifically Marvel), I’ve read my fair share of Avengers fanfiction. But for all the hundreds (thousands? Idk at this point) of fics I’ve read, probably most of the ones where y/n is the kid of one of the avengers (mostly Tony), they have always been the same: a snarky, science-loving genius who is basically a mini-me of their parent (and again, I see this mostly with ones where Tony’s the parent, so that’s what I’ll use as an example). And honestly, it’s not just bad writing, but it feels a little…. mysoginistic. Like, can y/n not have a personality entirely based off their dad? Can they not like the humanities or be of average intelligence? Can they not have some weird hobbies and maybe be more extroverted than Tony? Like, most of these writers write y/n as a woman, but don’t give her any distinct personality beyond the fact that she’s “Tony’s daughter”, and at this point it kind of is old and makes me sad, cause I think it’s reflective of a larger problem of our inability to write women because we often don’t see well written women in popular media. Anyways, I mean no hate with this post, y’all write some seriously good stuff and it is nice to be a character that’s smart, since that’s not my reality. But if I have to read y/n thinking a science class is easy one more time, I’m reaching through the screen to choke her, cause she’s a liar. Easy science classes don’t exist.

a/n: i wanted to do a personal voice recording of this but then i didn’t

“Dad! Hey, it’s me. You know, your firstborn?” Starting strong with this one, aren’t you? “Right, so you know how you and the Avengers ditched me at the Tower because, and I quote, ‘We don’t know what we’re walking into, you’ll go on our next kiddie-mission.’” Okay, you really did nail the Tony Stark voice. It only took years of mockery to get it right.

You began pacing the floor as you continued on. “Well, I think I know what you walked into: a distraction, and judging by the fact that you aren’t answering me, I’d say it’s a pretty good one.” Okay, now that you’re saying it out loud, you’re staring to realize that this is kind of serious. “Anyways, I just wanted to let you know that from 3:07pm to 3:20pm, a few levels of the Tower were on lockdown, whoever it is we’re dealing with, they’re good. It took me…” You paused to clear your throat out of embarrassment, “thirteen minutes to reboot the system and…” Maybe if you don’t say it, it won’t he true anymore. No, that only works in fairy tales. You sat in the spinning chair near the computer which still read “NO RESULTS FOUND.”

“And there’s another problem. Um, the Iron Legion is kind of missing, and I know what you’re going to say: ‘We put trackers in them for a reason, why haven’t you checked the GPS?’” Time to clickity clack at the keyboard once more. “About that, their trackers are offline. All of them. I’ve been working on getting them back ever since the lockdown lifted, but no dice.” This was the worst. Why did you have to be the only Avenger left behind? Now, all that responsibility has fallen onto you until the crew comes back.

“I predict that within the next twenty-four hours we’ll see them on the news. Actually, that’s a little generous. I’d say six hours.” Humor never failed to creep it’s way into your misfortune. “We better start placing bets on what the next ‘Anti-Avengers’ headline is gonna be. Or maybe it’ll just be ‘Anti-Stark.’” There was already so much on your mind. If someone doesn’t call you back soon, you may lose it. “If we don’t find our robots soon, we’re gonna need to hire a lawyer. Before you get any ideas: no, you may not represent yourself.”

Once you pinged the Iron Legion again and got another blank map, you decided that on short notice, you’d be going on a mission of your own. “I’m gonna go deactivate the locks on my suit and look for bots myself in a valiant effort to save the day, no biggie. Call me back when you get this, ‘Stark 2’ out.” You had JARVIS hang up the phone, then headed over to the armory.

“Are you sure this us such a good idea, Mx. y/n?” JARVIS asked on your march to your personal gear.

“Nope, not at all. But that’s the Stark in me, isn’t it?” You chuckled as the door slid open.

“I’m afraid so.” The AI conveyed some emotion in his voice, possibly disappointment. “There’s still no luck trying to contact Mr. Stark.”

“You think his suit went offline during the lockdown? That’s why you can’t remember anything on his end?” You asked as you attached a tablet to the back of your pristine helmet.

“It’s quite possible. An EMP may have been triggered to short out the comms and such.” JARVIS reasoned, giving you some sense of relief. That wasn’t a guarantee that anyone was safe, just a possibility as to why you couldn’t get an answer from anyone on the team.

“Aha!” Your armor’s firewalls disengaged and the suit powered up for you. “Add this to the tally of things I’ve successfully hacked, JARVIS.” You disconnected your tablet and stationed yourself inside before it closed up on you.

“Entry number 498,586: Iron Mech armor #23.” He accounted for. “Very nice work.”

“Thanks, JARVIS.” You got ready for takeoff as the entire level of the Tower shut down again, nothing but red lights illuminated the rooms after the shudders snapped shut. Luckily, JARVIS had already connected to your suit, so at least you weren’t alone. “Any ideas on what to do next?”

“Not at the moment…”

Y/N stood in the cemetery. She kneeled to place the flowers in front of the grave. The wind was blowing as she stood up. “I miss him.”

Stephen pulls her into a hug. “I know. But he’s in a better place.”

“How’s your stitches?” she asks.

“Still sore,” he replies.

It had been a few days since they returned, Stephen had been discharged from the hospital the day before. Y/N will never forget that, the blood, the fear of losing him, the feeling that it was all her fault. She would carry that guilt with her always.

Stephen had a similar feeling. Since he’d been back, his mind was plagued with memories, horrible nightmares, of what he did. He would forever be ashamed of how stupid and careless he’d been. He took a small flask out of his pocket and took a swig of the liquor inside. He offers it to Y/N. “To warm you up,” he says. She takes a swig and winces.

“What is that?”

“Promise me you won’t leave me, ever again,” she replies. “I don’t care about you “dying to protect me” or whatever. I don’t think I could handle something like that again.”

“I promise.” The two of them look up as snow starts to fall. “The first snow.”

“It is November,” Y/N reminds him.

“It was August when we left,” Stephen comments. “But you spent two years in that realm…”

“Time is relative, Stephen,” Y/N says. “I thought you of all people would know that by now.”

He takes her hand. “You ready to go?” he asks.

“Ready as I’ll ever be.” Y/N opens a portal, which the two of them walk through, back home to their anything but normal, sometimes crazy, life.

“I’m dying.” You heard your boyfriend groan from where he was sleeping on your lap. Rolling your eyes, you scratched the back of his neck, bringing the book you were not reading closer to you.

“You’re being dramatic Petey, who told you to eat that entire pint of ice cream anyway?” You say not unkindly, running your fingers through his unruly hair. You smiled underneath the book when you felt him shift. You knew he was giving you his puppy dog eyes, your suspicions confirmed when he took the book from your hands and gave you a pout.

“Pay me attention, I’m sick.” He whined, scrunching his face in an adorable way. Giggling, you gently swat away his probing hand from your cheeks. Holding his hands, you winced when you felt the overly warm flesh, concern washing over you. Moving your hands to his forehead, you pushed away the sweaty curls, placing the back of your palm to check his temperature.

“FRIDAY, what’s his temperature?” You ask the AI, keeping the book you were totally reading aside.

“Mister Parker’s temperature currently stands at hundred and one degrees fahrenheit, do you want me to call medical assistance?” She answered.

“No thanks FRI, can you call dad to get his pills though?”

You shift around a little bit, the feeling of ants crawling up your thighs making you uncomfortable.

“Don’t want medicine.” He grumbled.

“What was that?” You laughed, pinching his nose like you did with your little sister. Sometimes they acted the same age.

“It tastes icky!”

“Peter, you’re a fully grown adult, even Morgan eats pills nowadays!”

“Yuck.” He made a face, burying his nose in your stomach, “Why don’t you kiss my booboo better?” You could practically hear his shit eating grin.

Rolling your eyes, you shift again, massaging the base of his neck, “I won’t kiss you. You’re sick.”

“Nope. FRI where’s dad?”

“Boss is on his way with your requested items.”

“Oh, thanks, I guess.”

A few minutes and a fussy Peter eating his pills by you bribing him later, he was finally asleep, his congested snores resonating the empty halls of the penthouse. You didn’t know you had fallen asleep, until you were being shaken awake by warm hands and a squirming body.

You heard him whimper, shifting positions on your lap.

“What’s wrong Peter? Should I call Bruce?” You whisper, leaning close to see his scrunched face and nauseating pallor, “Does it hurt?”

He gave a tiny nod, tears of frustration leaking from his eyes, “Yeah.”

Good, that’s what you get for eating my part of the ice cream.” You joked, tracing circles on his shoulder blades. Your hand vibrated with his chuckles, satisfied that you had managed to make him laugh.

“You’re mean.” He giggled, sticking his tongue out as he tried to lean in to kiss you again.

“No.” You smiled, pushing him down with your hand on his chest.

“Love you too.”

Surgeon Supreme- Stephen Strange x Stark!Reader

part 19 of the Hey, Stephen series

Summary: Stephen finally decides to go back to work as a neurosurgeon. Can he balance that with his role as Sorcerer Supreme? And what happens when Y/N becomes jealous of his hot, young assistant?

“Y/N, can I ask you something?” Stephen asks one morning.

“I’ve been thinking about going back to work at the hospital, now I know that you might be concerned…”

“Finally!” she sighs.

“Wait, what?”

“God, Stephen you’ve been moping around this house for nearly ten years!”

“I was gone for five..”

“Okay, five years. Either way, you’re not one of those people, you always need to be up and doing something,” she answers.

“But what about Amelia?” Stephen asks. “She’s only three months old, what are we going to do?”

“Are you forgetting the free babysitters we have at the compound?” Y/N asks. “Besides, I’ll just do the same thing I do when you’re off at Kamar-taj.”

“Which is?”

“Take her to the lab with me. She has a little playpen in the corner.”

“You take our child to the lab?” Stephen asks in horror.

“Its not like she’s sitting on the work bench with me. Anyway we’re getting off subject. You should call Christine.”

“Fine, I will.”

Stephen dialed the number in his cell phone and waited for her to pick up. “Hey, Christine. Yeah, I was thinking about coming back to the hospital to work. Is there any positions available?”

“Well, Nick’s position is open…”

“What, did he retire? Quit? Transfer?” Stephen asks a little too happily.

“Close. He was promoted. Head of the Neurology department now.”

“So, he would be…”

“Your boss, yes.”

“Can you excuse me for a moment?” Stephen asks before setting down the phone and picking up a pillow off his bed to scream into.

He picks the phone back up. “I heard that,” she says. “I’ll schedule you an interview with Nick tommorow. But everything should go fine.”

Stephen sat in the office with Nick, who was looking over his updated resume. “Nice goatee,” Nick says.

“Nice office,” Stephen replies.

“So, you’re living on Bleecker now? Isn’t that’s bit modest for the great Stephen Strange?” Nick asks.

Stephen shrugs. “Maybe I don’t care about those things anymore. Material things, money they can all be gone in an instant.”

“So you spent a few years recovering from the nerve damage,” Nick says.

“Yes, I was also blipped. And then in the last two years with everything that’s been going on with my family..”

“Yeah, I heard your wife just had a baby, congrats. How old is she?”

“Three months,” Stephen answers. “Y/N’s already gone back to work, everything’s stable, and I’m restless.”

“Alright, welcome back Strange. You can start on Monday.”

Stephen entered his office Monday morning, whistling a tune as he unlocked the door.

“Good morning, Doctor Strange.” Stephen practically jumps back six feet. A twenty something-blonde with too much lipstick sits at the receptionist desk.

“Who are you?” Stephen asks.

“Tiffany, your assistant.”

“Okay, nice to meet you Tiffany.” Stephen walks out of the waiting room into his private office before closing the door.

“Y/N is not going to be happy about that.”

Y/N walks into the hospital physician’s offices building with a bag of food for Stephen, which he had forgotten earlier in the morning. She stops by the elevator and looks up at the directory to find Stephen’s office.

“Fourth floor, there we are. She presses the elevator button and the doors open immediately. She goes down to the fourth floor and starts to look for Stephen’s office.

“Are you lost, ma’am?” a voice asks. She turns to see a doctor standing there.

“Oh, hello, um….Dr. West,” she says, reading his name tag. “I’m looking for Doctor Strange’s office.”

Nick scoffs. “What do you want with old Strange? He’s been out of practice for years, just started back today. I’m head of the department.” The so called “head of the department” didn’t even try to conceal his ogling of Y/N. She had to try so hard not to deck him.

“Good for you,” she says sarcastically. “Now can you show me to my husband’s office?”

“Oh, you’re the wife! His office is just right over there,” Nick points behind her and Y/N thanks him before hurrying in that direction.

She enters the waiting room, which was empty because it was their lunch break. The ditzy blond at the desk is filing her nails.

“Hey!” She doesn’t look up.

The girl sighs and looks up. “What?”

“I’m here to see Doctor Strange.”

“Isn’t everyone? I swear, he’s the handsomest doctor in this department. Most of them are old enough to be my grandpa. Ooo! And I heard he’s rich, too!”

“Isn’t he married?” Y/N asks.

“Yeah, but, between you and me, I think I could steer him away from his wife,” she loudly whispers despite them being the only people in the room.

“Excuse me?”

“Hey, I’m just saying. Plus I heard he’s into younger women,” she says like it’s a spicy piece of gossip.

Y/N scoffs. “Can I just go see him? Is he in his office?”

“I’m sorry, you can’t go back there, ma’am,” she says.

Y/N was contemplating pulling this girl’s platinum colored extensions out when Stephen walked into the waiting room.

“Hey, Honey,” he says, waking over to give Y/N a quick kiss.“What are you doing here?”

Y/N holds up the bag. “You forgot your lunch!”

“You are the best,” he says, taking the bag from her.

“I see you’ve met my assistant,” Stephen says. “Tiffany, this is my wife, Y/N.”

Y/N smirks as the girl’s eyes go as big as saucers.

“Come on, I’ll show you my office.” As soon as the door closed Y/N’s demeanor changed.

“Stephen, you need to fire that girl.”

“She bragged to me about how she was going to steal you away from me,” Y/N says. “I don’t trust that bitch.”

“Honey, you know I would never cheat on you,” Stephen says.

“That’s not the point, Stephen! The point is that I don’t trust her not to try something! She’s young, and I’m older now since we lost those five years…. How would you feel if, for example, your boss was ogling me or hitting on me?”

“I’d knock his teeth out, what’s your point?” Stephen asks. “Wait, did Nick hit on you?”

“No, but he did not make his ogling subtle,” she says. “And then he ran away when I said I was married to you. But anyway, don’t you see what I mean?”

“Okay, I’ll fire her,” Stephen says, standing up.

“Make sure your next asistant is old.”

“Old, got it.”

“With a hunchback.”

Stephen laughs. “A hunchback? What am I hiring Quasimodo?”

“He might make a good asistant, who knows?” Y/N replies.

Stephen opens the door and peeks out at the twenty something year old. “Tiffany? You’re fired.”

“Hmph!” She stomps out of the waiting room.

“And good riddance!” Y/N calls after her.

Stephen checks his watch. “I don’t have any appointments for another forty five minutes. Why, whatever will we do?”

Y/N smirks. “I can think of something.”

Pairing: Peter Parker x (f)Stark!Reader x DC Characters
Featuring: Peter Parker, Ned Leeds, MJ, Dick Grayson, Damian Wayne (mentioned), Bruce Wayne/Batman, Clark Kent/Superman, Lex Luthor (mentioned), Tony Stark
Warnings: ooc characters (probably butchered the dc guys!!), kidnapping, dumb men
Summary: You are on the academic decathlon team for Midtown and made it to the final stages of the competition, meaning you and your team get to travel to Metropolis for the national competition! You run into an old friend, which comes in handy when some goons think it’s smart to mess with you.
Authors Note: I wasn’t going to do it but I did it. This is my crack fic. I love it. I love me some dc marvel crossovers and I would die for Nightwing and love him v much. I think you can tell I enjoyed this because it’s one of my longest non-big-series fics I have ever written. Someone stop me from making another part bc I’m already thinking about it. Also I was not going to post this originally because I was afraid of being OOC but I did it anyway because I enjoyed writing it so much. ALSOOOOO I looked it up to figure out where Gotham and Metropolis are and went with Metropolis being in Delaware and Gotham being in New Jersey. But tbh the timing is weird on how long it takes so just go with it.

Part One / Two

Tony / Peter / Full Masterlist

“It’s a bright and sunny morning in Metropolis, perfect for our visitors from all over the country! With the weather being as great as it is, be sure to keep an eye out for our one and only Superman flying above and waving. In today’s news-”

You smiled as you listened to the news playing on the TV in the lobby of the hotel. Mr. Harrington gave your group a spot to wait in while he attempted to check-in at the front desk. The lobby was riddled with kids of all ages, meeting in Metropolis for the national competition for the academic decathlon teams, and Midtown was the winning school from New York.

“You know,” Peter leaned into your side. “It’s weird not having Flash here to make fun of me the whole time,” Peter laughed.

“Huh, good and bad that he graduated and we’re seniors?” You smirked back. “I agree; it’s weird. But I’m sure he’ll still be around to make fun of you, if not in spirit,” You told him.

Peter nodded. “Can’t get away from him forever. With my luck, we’ll end up at the same school.”

You shook your head at Peter for being just a tad paranoid. “You’re a dork. Anyways,” You said and turned to the rest of your friend group. “Everyone excited for tomorrow?”

“Yes!” Ned said. “I hope we spot Superman.”

“Oh yeah,” MJ responded. “I’m ready to beat everyone’s butts and then get to explore a new city. Sounds fun.”

You start recording him at a table, his smile literally was lighting the room, his laughter seemed contagious to everyone around him. He was so happy from the outside, from what anyone here would assume. Did your mom know he was here? Is that why she came? No, she didn’t even know your dad’s name, it was the “Goody Powder” she wanted.

The room that Tony had reserved for you in their—your new home was…hard to get around. He had meant to unpack all your things, set it up nice, but he never got around to it. Among the boxes of your old belongings, there was an Iron Man helmet that you didn’t recognize, something dad must’ve made while you were, ahem, away.

You lifted the armor piece to look into it’s eyes, it registered you immediately and activated. All of a sudden, your father was standing before you, just pacing. The only catch was that this was Tony’s hologram.

“Hey, kiddo. Miss you.” He was unusually uncomfortable for a camera. “This helmet here? It’s for you. I…I don’t know what I’m doing, y/n. I can’t remember my life without you. I just…” Tony buried his face in his hands and whimpered, then the tape skipped over to the next. “Y/N, hey. Today’s your birthday, I got you a cupcake. I guess I’ll blow it out for you.” The video cut off again and you heard a knock at the door, you didn’t bother answering it, Pepper would come in either way.

“Oh, I’m guessing you saw some?” She gently shut the door behind her so that Morgan couldn’t hear. You nodded with your head hung low so she couldn’t see the tears that started to leak down your face. “I can’t count how many recordings he made for you. Every breakthrough, holiday, birthday…Tuesday, he made time to talk to you.” Pepper’s hand hesitantly glided up and down your back, you could feel her wedding ring on the move.

“I think—” Your sniffle turned into a sob as you clenched your eyelids together. “I think I just need a minute, that’s all.”

Natasha patrolled Strucker’s Base as she finished her task on the Avenger’s raid. She had previously turned comms off because she had to use a cover and didn’t want her teammates’ communication blowing it. However, as the redhead tried to navigate to where the Avengers were, Natasha turned back on her comms.

What she heard stunned her.

Clint was in the middle of talking.

“-I have Cap, Bruce has Thor, and Tony has Y/N. Anyone know where Nat is?”

“I’m here, Hawk. What’s going on?” Natasha asked. By his tone of voice Natasha knew that something was wrong, and the name of her love - Y/N - being spoken made it even worse in her head.

There was silence on the other side for a second before Clint answered. A pause was never, ever good. “One of Strucker’s agents or whatever - she has some sort of witchy powers and got into Cap, Thor, and Y/N’s heads. We don’t really know exactly what the girl did, but none of them are really responding, although Bruce and I are getting Cap and Thor back to base right now.”

Natasha froze, anger suddenly firing up. She wanted nothing more than to be face to face with the girl who dared use her powers against her Y/N. However she had to stay calm for her girlfriend.

“A little help with Y/N, Nat?” Tony’s face rang through, and he sounded troubled … a little emotional. Well, who wouldn’t? This was his daughter. “You’re her best friend.”

Natasha nodded but then remembered that Tony couldn’t see her. “Send me your coordinates,” she said flatly, feeling as if she said anything more she’d explode from trying to keep her emotions in check. Something happened to Y/N, and Natasha couldn’t bare it.

Well, exploding with emotions which is exactly what happened when Natasha laid eyes on her girlfriend. There was her darling Y/N, sitting, unfoccused on the floor. Y/N’s eyes were glossy and she was showing no reaction as Tony tried to shake her and talk to her.

No one did this to Y/N. No one.

And it broke Natasha’s heart. Y/N almost mirrored her every time Natasha got a flashback to the Red Room or after a screwed up mission. Black Widow didn’t like to see her girlfriend like this. Well, now Natasha got to take care of Y/N.

“Y/N,” Natasha breathed out, rushing to kneel in front of Y/N. She ignored Tony, knowing that if he had to know about them, so be it. Y/N was more important than keeping their secret.

“Y/N, my love,” Natasha said, cupping Y/N’s chin in her hand and moving it so Y/N was looking at her. She ignored how Tony snapped his head to look at her in surprise.

“Come on, Y/N,” Natasha encouraged, moving to be in Y/N’s full line of vision. “It’s me, love. It’s Tasha. You’re safe, you’re okay. I promise.”

After a moment of waiting with bated breath, Y/N blinked and looked over at Natasha. However, the two Avengers’ victory didn’t lost for long. For Y/N started trying to back up, and because she was against the wall, she just knocked her head into the wall. Y/N shook her head frantically.

“You’re not real, you’re real,” Y/N whispered to Natasha. “I watched you die.”

Natasha and Tony shared a concerned glance.

Tony carefully put his hand on Y/N’s shoulder, trying to calm her. “Y/N, honey-” he began to say, until Y/N cried out.

“Stop it!” She yelled, ripping her arms away from her father.

Natasha gave a small sigh and gently grabbed Y/N’s arms. Y/N tried to squirm away again, but Natasha was stronger, and the redhead pinned her arms to her side, forcing her to calm down.

“Y/N, love, look up. It’s me - I’m not dead. I’m right here and I love you,” Natasha spoke softly. In fact, that was the most gentle Tony had ever heard the super scary spy be.

It took Y/N a couple moments of looking into Natasha’s eyes and hearing her until Y/N leapt forward and flung her arms around her girlfriend. Natasha sat back, sharing a smile with Tony over Y/N’s shoulder, and rocking Y/N soothingly into her arms.

Tony just watched his teammate and his daughter, unable to keep from smiling. He quietly updated the team through comms so as to not disturb the couple.

After a bit, Natasha pulled back, and chucked lightly. “She’s asleep,” Natasha whispered to Tony.

Tony glanced at his daughter before meeting Natasha’s eyes. “When were you gonna tell me about you two?” He whispered back.

Natasha pulled a ‘🥴’ face before chuckling again. “We were gonna get around to it,” she replied.

The Strange Family- Pt.3

Summary: A small accident causes Y/N to get her memories of the real world back. She questions her own sanity as she finally sees the cracks in the so-called perfect world.

Y/N opened her eyes as she heard a beeping noise. It was a heart monitor. She scanned her surroundings. She was in a hospital room. Stephen was snoozing in a chair.

“Stephen? What happened?” She asks.

“Y/N, you’re awake!” He exclaims. “You were in a car accident, hit your head very hard.”

“No, no, we were fighting Nightmare…”

“You had a nightmare?” Stephen asks.

“No! We were fighting him! The cosmic being!” Y/N insists. “Where are the kids?”

“Kids? We only have one kid, Y/N,” Stephen says. “And he’s with Pepper. You’re still a bit disoriented, you should rest. I’m gonna go get a coffee.”

Stephen walks out of the room and Y/N lifts her hands to try and make a portal. Her sling ring was gone.

She sighs. “This world… It’s all wrong…” She rips out the IV before sitting up in bed. “I need to get out of here.”

She quickly pulls on her clothes and sneaks out of the hospital before anyone can find her. Luckily, she had her wallet with her as she hails a cab.

“Address, ma’am?” the cab driver asks her.

“177A Bleecker Street.”

Y/N pays the cab driver and goes to knock on the door before it opens, and the Ancient One stands before her.

“A-Ancient One?”

“Hello, Y/N,” She opens the door wider, and Y/N follows her inside.

“Do you know that this… this is not real?” Y/N asks. “I know you see all the possibilities, but because you can’t see past… well, you know, you don’t know what I did. I need your help, Ancient One.”

“Let me make some tea,” she says.

Y/N and the Ancient One sat at the kitchen table, drinking tea with a bit of honey. Y/N was telling the Ancient One the story of what happened.

“So, Stephen decided to dabble in necromancy…”

“Necromancy? Stephen Strange?”

“Yes, to bring my dad back, but he ended up getting possessed by Nightmare.”

“Nightmare, my word!”

“So long story short, Nightmare took Stephen to the Nightmare Realm, I went dimension hopping to find him…”

“Dimension hopping? Do you know what that could do to the multiverse?” she asks.

“I know, I’m sorry.”

“So, then what happened?” the Ancient One asks.

“I found him, we fought Nightmare, and he offered me a deal, one which I couldn’t refuse…” Y/N says. “He created this universe, where Stephen doesn’t get in the accident, my father doesn’t die..”

“And he took your memories,” the Ancient One says.

“Yes, but I got them back, I hit my head,” Y/N explains. “Now I need to figure out what to do.”

“What do you mean, dear?” The Ancient One asks.

“Whether to stay here and live a perfect life or whether to go back and live as a widow. No Stephen.”

“You know where I stand on this, dear,” the Ancient One says.

“I know. It’s not about me, or Stephen. It’s about saving the multiverse.”

“Just think before you make your decision,” the Ancient One says. She stands and give Y/N a hug. “Safe travels, and I hope you make the right decision.”

“Thank you, Ancient One, for everything. You’ve always been so wise. I’ve learned from you, sometimes you have to bend the rules a bit to save the day.”

The Ancient One drops an object in her hand. Y/N looks down. “A sling ring?” she asks.

“You’ll need it, dear, as well as this,” she replies, pulling a sword, still in the scabbard, out from behind her back.

Y/N puts on the sling ring and takes her sword from the Ancient One, unsheathing it to feel the cool metal of the blade. “Glory of the Ten Powers. I missed you, buddy.”

“There’s one more thing I need to give you,” the Ancient One says. She take an amulet off her own neck and places it on Y/N’s. Y/N looks down and touches the amulet.

“The eye…”

“You may need it. Nightmare is not a force to be trifled with,” she says. “When this universe collapses, it will disappear, so use it wisely.”

Before the two of them can blink, a red cloak flies towards Y/N, engulfing her in a hug. “Hi, cloakie!” The cloak let’s her go and it looks around, seemingly for its master.

“Stephen’s not here,” she tells the cloak. “He’s gone…”

“You don’t know that for sure,” the Ancient One tells her. “After looking through all the possibilities, Y/N, one thing I’ve noticed you always had is hope.”

Y/N scoffs. “That Y/N? She died a long time ago, when Thanos wiped out half the universe, taking away the love of her life, and leaving her to float adrift in space for a month before nearly starving to death, causing harm to her unborn child, who was born premature, and who she had to raise alone for five years.”

The Ancient One blinks in surprise before putting a hand on Y/N’s shoulder. “You’ve had a hard life dear, but, remember, where there is life, there is hope. Now, I must go.”

In an instant, she was teleported outside the door of the sanctum. She looked down at her hands, and deciding to test her magic, she turned the sword into an umbrella. She smiles to herself while opening a portal to the penthouse apartment. She knew what she needed to do. She just needed to say goodbye.
