tony is dead. steve went back in time for peggy and quickly realized it was a mistake -- his body doesn't work the way it should, and he spends years watching the people around him age and wither and it's worse than he could have known. even without the regrets...

it's worse, living through it all a second time and ending up right back where he started.

peter hates steve for siberia. he hates steve with the leftover fervor of a child in over his head, and steve hates himself with the weariness of a spirit too old for him body.

the last dregs of hydra are interested in steven rogers and peter parker. they end up in a cell together, alone with nothing to do but stew, and it ends up explosive. steve counts himself lucky that peter's nature is all second chances, even if the kid hates it.

after they escape, peter and steve have more tension to work out than they know what to do with.

and then tony comes back.

Hello everyone! Thank you to all the participants that joined us for our Valentine's Day exchange! We still have a few posts we're waiting on to close the event and once we have everything collected, we'll have a master post for the gifts.

Meanwhile– Us mods are extremely excited to announce our newest event! We are calling it Extended AUpril, and I believe we may have done something similar in the past.

For AUpril, we have made 2 community 4x4 bingos. The bingos will last all three months, and are light and dark themed. (Note: The prompts are themed this way. You do not have to do angst for dark prompts and fluff for light prompts. Feel free to be as creative as you want!)

Duration: This event will start today and last until the end of May.

Reminder: There is no obligation for these community bingos. Do them all, do exactly one prompt--it's completely up to you! Just make sure to tag properly.

No, not enemies to lovers, but enemies who are lovers

They have some deep dark rivalry, they're outright trying to kill each other, but they have an agreement to set the weapons down when the time is right and they crawl into bed together and it's not less violent. Not hate fucking exactly, because they admire and respect the shit out of each other

But can Tony help it if he fucks Peter so hard he knows it'll hurt to walk in the morning. Or can Peter when he sucks deep bruises into Tony's ribs going that's exactly where he's going to strike him next time they fight.

And maybe, there's been a few close calls. Moments where one of them definitely could have killed the other, but they let them get away. It just feels too good to give up the chase to stop the rough, violent, bruising fucking and whispers of "Im going to destroy you" like a love confession

tbh non-MCU Starker where Peter is his grown-ass adult self from the comics sounds like a fun ship bc they sometimes have a friendly rivalry going on and witty banter that is so much fun to read like they would be both fucking insufferable (affectionate) as a couple, but alas we are stuck with whatever the hell has ao3 going on. I'm not even touching that.

Listen, I don’t even think the 616 version of starker is interesting nor compelling. If I want Peter to be with a rich and famous person, I’d just write Peter and MJ. Johnny if it has to be a guy. 616 Peter and Tony are far too different for me to even consider anything romantic and it’s well established by now how much I’m not a fan of enemies to lovers.

@stackthedeck propositioned the possibility of Peter B. and Tony which firmly gets rid of the age gap and other power dynamics but again, not really my vibe though I can respect the vision.

And it’s because of that, I have such strong feelings about so much of irondad. 80% of people are literally just writing starker, calling it platonic, and harassing anyone who dares to question otherwise. How are you going to write Peter and Tony as the center of each others universes, their sole reason for living, cuddling in bed together (usually when Peter is 16 at best and Tony is 50ish), Tony calling him baby and Peter saying dad in the most helpless way, remove every single person darker than a paper bag from their lives who are canonically close to them (Ned and Rhodey), eliminate the women in their lives (Pepper, May, MJ and Morgan), add in the white guys beyond all reason (Bruce, Steve, Bucky, fucking Harley Keener… but never Sam Wilson), say that they’re soulmates/long lost/family/the reason they wake up every morning/ride off into the sunset together, create fan art that’s basically celebrity rpf the two of them holding each other like a couple… and then get irrationally upset that people say they’re writing starker?

I don’t like starker, I don’t think it’s an interesting relationship nor do I find it compelling. It’s why I dislike so much of irondad and why— aside from you know, the blatant racism and misogyny— the fandom has become unbearable to be around.

Yes!! not too many, but I've written a few. This one isn't crazy but it is the most developed of all the wips. It's a Supernatural/The Breakfast Club crossover called Supernatural activity at shermer high

Harry/Teddy

This ship has been a long-standing guilty pleasure fave ever since I’ve read the amazing When It Alteration Finds by the Hardy champion @lqtraintracks, many years ago. Shipping Starker (MCU) in 2019 made my love for Harry/Teddy come back even stronger because I can trace so many similarities between both ships (besides the obvious age gap). Pretty much like Tony and Peter, Harry and Teddy are war orphans whose paths wouldn’t necessarily cross only they did, and the mentor/father figure combo can lend itself to so many interesting narratives, both tender and angsty which is my ultimate jam. This was my very first ship that didn’t have the antagonist component - on the contrary, this brand of romance is even more heartbreaking because they’re so so seriously devoted to each other. They could have been best friends to lovers if not for the whole godfather+ age gap problematique but it makes the ship even more compelling to me. I love the guilt, the want, the inevitability of them falling into bed then hurting through the complications before finally getting together. My favorite fics include (you guessed it!) everything LQT has written especially Beneath a Foreign Moon and Coming Up for Air, plus the stunning Surface Texture by @the-starryknight.

Ron/Draco

I would never have considered this ship if I hadn’t stumbled upon the brilliant A Fine Foray into Fashionable Fellatio by @wellhalesbells - a masterpiece that remains my all-time favorite Dron fic because it finally opened my eyes to their sexual and emotional potential as a ship on its own, outside of Drarry’s shadow. Ron is such a fascinating character, so very different from Harry in his strengths and vulnerabilities, which makes his dynamics with Draco very unique and 100% different from Drarry fics. It’s a delight to see him as a protagonist, I love his sense of humor and I find the idea of exploring what brings him and Draco together (besides being tall Purebloods with strong feelings for Harry 😏) and what pulls them apart when it comes to wealth/status difference very refreshing and compelling. Lokifan handles it masterfully! Now, I might have come for hung!Ron smut, but I stayed for the feels. In the past year I’ve become more emotionally attached to this ship especially as dragon tamer pals thanks to the superb Dreaming Skies by @sweet-s0rr0w and @tackytigerfic and more recently, to a Dronarry gem that’s really a love letter to Dron, The Sun, Shining Above You by @oknowkiss

Ron/Harry

Young Liv couldn’t care less for “friends to lovers” but now that I’m older and mellow, those dynamics are slowly but surely working their way inside my heart. Gosh, I’m so soft for Rarry! I love the idea of them experimenting together as young and traumatized teenagers, and there’s something poetic and right about Harry falling in love with his first and best friend. My heart aches when I remember that Ron was Harry’s most precious person during the Tournament’s 2nd task, being with each other just feels right. Love me some confused pining, domesticity and slight possessiveness /jealousy for them, especially in a scenario where Draco’s involved (yes I am also here for the Dronarry agenda). My first contact with this ship was through Golden Trio fics and the catharsis of comfort sex during the Horcrux Hunt; it was the easiest thing to slide into Rarry afterwards. Now I see them everywhere and am low-key spreading the word among my most skeptical friends (@writcraft is probably thinking “wdym you were shipping them in my Drarry fic???”). If anyone’s curious about this ship or wants a break from enemies to lovers I strongly rec the darling Sun Kissed by @static-abyss,the angsty Prelude and Fugue by shes_gone, this hot af Kinkuary by iota the exquisite Silhouettes by @sweet-s0rr0w

Today I’d like to share some titles and summaries from my WiPs. Most of them are already posted, written in my first language but I have plans on translate them into English as well uwu

Here we go:

Bloody Kisses, a Starker Vampire!AU where Peter is bitten by an unknown vampire. Tony is 16 and eventually he discovers Peter’s secret and swear to protect him and teach him how to live among humans without killing them.

How to Get Tony Stark in 10 Days: Alright, this is a story I have on my drafts since 2018 lol. Haven’t finished it yet, ‘cause I’m lazy lol, but it’s supposed to be a humor story. It’s just a tiny bit inspired on the romance movie. Yeah, that one.

Like Father, Like Son: It’s a Starkercest compilation of individually oneshots. Like, this idea came to my mind since 2018 too, when I got tired and angry about all the Spiderson content and Idk, just wanted to see Starker in my damn tag lol

Life is a Musical: Starker short-fic based on Hamilton, Modern AU. Pretty much humor, random Hamilton and other references and ofc romance.

Nobody´s Home: AU No Powers Starker where Peter got a strongly argumentative fight with May and then he decides to just run away from home. Meets Tony on the road, who offers Peter a ride and eventually they just...end living together. Buut Peter and Tony hate each other! so yeah, we can include Enemies to Friends To lovers on the tags lol

What are your three favorite Starker fan fictions?

For me, without a doubt:

first position: Lanterns burning, flickered in the mind (only you), by @darker-soft-starker

This story probably brings together everything I love best, including Young Tony, High school AU, enemies to friends to lover, slight angst, extremely romantic tension, a touch of drama… *shiver*.

Second position: Under a Violet Rain, by @vaguekiwi

Again, I am seduced by the "enemies to lovers" plot. When love seems absolutely impossible, when everything is set up to make them hate each other, and yet a love still comes. From the first line to the last, it was a pleasure to read this story.

third position: The Pieces I've Lost, by @vaguekiwi and @snowstark

I usually don't like overly pronounced notions of submission and dominance, even more so when the story is riveted on sexual content and sexual degradation. But this story… this story resonates deeply with me. I was interested to see that the dynamics of submission and dominance come from genetics, making people really different from each other from a biological point of view. And all the reasons why I usually don't like these stories, well… those are the reasons why Peter is so different from everyone else in this story. In a way, it reminds me a bit of feminism, and that's why the plot is all the more interesting. And, of course… I want Peter to get a fucking hug.

OoOoOo this is a tricky one~~~ 👀👀👀 I am such a hardcore lover of so many fics and writers in our lovely community, and I wish I could list everyone in this response, but I’ll do my best to identify the three starker fics that are my all time favourites at the moment (because darn it- my favourites often change by the day 😅)

(Also, my method here of dubbing each fic my “third” favourite or “second” favourite doesn’t reflect just how much I love all these fics equally. Again, if I could name them all my “first” favourite I would! 😅✨ I’m just going to rank them in terms of how much each fic has impacted me personally and on the depth of their storytelling 💕)

My third favourite:

This is probably the starker fic that I reread the most, as it’s fantastically structured story and moments of simmering tension never cool for me. I am just as heated reading the tail end of chapter two as I ever was reading it for the first time ✨✨ Tony and Peter’s chemistry and sexual tension in this story is so heady and palpable- it makes me feel like I’m experiencing their powerful feelings and desires🥰 (plus all of the food they eat in the beginning sounds soooo delicious 🤤😩)

My second favourite:

Just like you, my friend, I could not ignore @darker-soft-starker’s outstanding work that I have still not stopped gushing about 😅

The multiple comments left on AO3 and original fanart that I’ve created for this incredible story really speaks for itself and I could probably fill the rest of this post with every single thing I adore about the plot, characters and romantic development, but I think in this case I will let the work speak for itself. I implore you: please read this fic if you haven’t already, it’s so much more than I ever imagined a starker fanfic to be and I guarantee you won’t be disappointed with what you find~💖

My first favourite:

Here we have it. My all-time favourite. Arguably the best starker fanfiction ever created. Words fail me when it comes to describing how much this story has influenced me as a storyteller, as a reader and as a member of our little community. If I was ever in doubt that starker wasn’t the pairing for me, this work would draw me back in and remind me just how lucky I am to be able to read art like this - on a beautifully curated fanfiction website - for free. I’ll never get over it, I just love it too much.

The Marvel canon has yet to top these masterpieces ✨

B (like it) in general, but more towards D (not my favorite) in regards to Starker specifically-- it typically takes too much AUing/changing their canon dynamic for me to be interested! I'd be into a more gentle, like, rivals to lovers dynamic for them though, maybe thinking about an identity porn fic where Spidey doesn't know who Iron Man is and is kind of put off by him when they're thrown together for heroing (or whatever.)
