Hey all! You may have seen me reblogging posts for the Starscourge: A Goth FFXV Zine frequently. I wanted to talk about the @ffxv-goth-zine a bit to give you an idea of why it’s so important to me.

This is the first zine I’ve been the head mod for, and it’s been a labor of love in a way that words cannot express. Our chosen charity is the Sophie Lancaster Foundation, a foundation established after the murder of Sophie Lancaster due to her being dressed as Goth. Please check out more on the foundation here: www.sophielancasterfoundation.com. They have an invaluable mission, and I’m proud that Goths in the fandom can support Goth foundations worldwide.

This zine is also so important to me due to the amount of contributor effort that has gone into this zine. It is gorgeous, both in the artwork and the written work. Each contributor has put in countless hours to making this zine perfection. The least I can do is my best effort to make it the zine we believe it can be.

I thoroughly believe in this zine. I believe that this zine will be amazing, that the contributors deserve the praise that they receive, that the mods backing me have been tirelessly diligent in putting forth their best effort. 

This zine, the merch, and everything that went into it, is a display of an overwhelming amount of love for FFXV and Gothic Culture, from the music to the aesthetic, to the variations and cultural considerations. 

Lastly, the mod team has worked hard to ensure that we will keep this zine as affordable as possible while still enabling us to donate to charity. We firmly believe that zines should be accessible, and we took a lot of feedback through social media posts and polls to determine what price points people are comfortable with so we could bring you this zine at prices that are more affordable to all.

I am honored and humbled to lead this team, and I cannot express how firmly I believe that all who purchase this zine will thoroughly enjoy it. From the in zine content to the merch to the NSFW PDF, this zine has been a labor of love that all will enjoy and I cannot express adequately the joy and love I feel for my team.

The zine goes on sale February 22nd, containing 5 different tiers, a NSFW PDF add on option, and stretch goals for reaching the sales we need to include them for physical orders. Each physical purchase comes with a surprise piece of merch as well.

State of the Bird

These last few months have been something of a nightmare. The only writing I’ve managed has been for zines and other fan event commitments -- and I’ve barely managed those. Real Life things have taken up all my brain power lately, and I’m tired all the time.

But.

I’m still plugging away.

I’m kind of chuffed that the only unfinished fic I’ve posted is Cracked. I feel bad that I haven’t updated it in three months. The story has shifted gears, and my writing has had to shift as well -- and I’m due a re-read to make sure I’m fulfilling all the promises I made to readers. (And to refresh myself on the voice; the things I’ve been writing lately have not been as Ignis-centric.) 

In the meantime, here’s what’s coming up...!

I’m scheduled to post my fic for the World of Ruin Big Bang on February 18. It’s 18K+ words of angst, and my first Rated M fic -- for violence and dark themes. Watch the tags!

I’m also writing for the Lunoct Big Bang! Posting for that one is scheduled to start posting in May. I don’t have my date yet, but it’s coming! 

I have fics (both finished) in the Le Chat Noir and Starscourge Goth zines! I’ll be posting when preorders open, so watch for that too.

The rest of Cracked is outlined. Roughly. So... soon!

Even though I love my family, I’m feeling isolated and I miss my friends. So... how’re y’all doing in these trying times? What’s been a source of inspiration to you these days? You’re welcome to comment or head over to my asks!
