Welcome to my blog for the shop I recently opened - ImpeRiCal. Now, you’re surely wondering, “Wtf are you doing marketing the shop on Tumblr out of all the social media platforms today?” Well, first off, I still love Tumblr (despite everything). Second, what I will do with this tiny shop (well, what I want to do) is perfect for Tumblr. What is that? Well…

ImpeRiCal is an e-shop where I create designs and through print-on-demand platforms sell them on different products. I primarily make them for phone cases, but (as you will read on the shop’s site) if you like some design on a different product, that can be done by contacting me and discussing the possibility. The designs are structured into 3 categories:

• Abstract: These are simple designs, nothing too complicated about them. Hence, they won’t have a story.

• Dreamland: These are more detailed and interesting designs that are connected to a story.

• Intermix: Sometimes I end up with designs that are not abstract but I can’t quite put them in a story. They don’t always make good phone cases but can be interesting on something else, even as a phone background.

And now you must be wondering what are these stories I keep mentioning. This is where Tumblr comes into play. Each Dreamland design will be connected to a fanfic or a personal story. Basically, they will be more like scenes and elements of the made-up story my brain decides to share that day. All of these short fics/stories will be posted here, with relevant hashtags so you know what you’re reading and getting. Basically, this Tumblr will be the shop’s personal storyteller ✨

Well, that’s all I have for now. With time I will create more posts and videos (probably uploaded on the shop’s Insta) about how it all came to be and what every little corner of my store (can I say it has corners?) means.

I'll be real: I was forced to resign from my job because of a severe health issue that is ongoing and makes it hard to even just walk my hall in my apartment. I am homeschooling my lil girl because she has special needs and they were not being met in public schooling, unfortunately. I want to work, but i can't and i also have broken my body for 20 years. I think, with all said and done with my health and all that, it's time that i do something I know i am good at and enjoy. It's either that or try to be on SSI but that is a long process and we still do not know what is going on with my health.

I have donated to various causes, including the horrendous bs that is happening on the otherside of the world, before I had to resign. So, yes, the guilt of having a gofundme to help support my family (by helping me with my small business) is there when there is so much shit going on in this world, but i know that I've done what I can and I use my platform on instagram to amplify and help expose of the atrocities that take place, hourly.

Sorry for the rant and the imploring.

Exciting Plans Ahead......

It's already April and I'm so excited to be busy preparing for my next art project, it's going to literally be a big one. LOL 😉 Plus this summer, my art business will be in full swing with available in-person openings for The Visual Arts Worship Workshop and Drawing 101 lessons. I'm Super Stoked!!! 🤩❤️

I'm simply amazed how God is affirming me on this business endeavor! He's constantly reminding me how much He's totally in favor of make this dream to startup my own art studio business into reality. I feel like practically everything has been falling into place without me needing to do much. The financial needs to start a business continues to be resolved and provided. My volunteer work at my church, using my artistic talents, have already been a huge promoter. Which has lead me to my first paid commission offer which will be my next art project. What I receive from that commission will so straight toward my small business. What's even more exciting to me is that my town will be having a Neighborhood Block Party next month, which I hope to have a promo-table to advertise sign-up for the my summer art workshops and lessons. great things take time, it’s worth it to keep working on your projects & goals — even if you aren’t seeing external validation yet

be okay without instant gratification, fast growth, thousands of followers/views/customers from the jump - make an effort, do the work, and you’ll make progress toward your goals.

i’ve been working on several projects lately and i’m really proud of how far i’ve come. one of them is a website, blog, shop, and social media presence entitled “hopeful narratives.” it’s a place where i feel like i’m contributing to the world and could potentially positively impact peoples lives. part of my purpose, i feel like, is to show people that you can take shit you’ve been through and turn it into something positive for yourself and others for years to come. it’s to create beautiful from the depths of my darkness — whether that’s in the form of blog posts, designs, art, poetry, music, whatever.

i have so many dreams that i’ve set out to follow and i believe in myself enough to pursue them and my personal development. and that’s what hopeful narratives is all about. i have some posts about self care, productivity, life, etc and it’s written from my neurodivergent, healing/recovery lens. i hope it helps at least one person to have hope and get motivated to go after their dreams too!
