idk it's tough as hell to explore your feelings when it's like. either you feel all of them viscerally and it's hard to unpick what they belong to and what the triggers or inspirations are and how they link together or what the processes behind them and all the rest

and then on the other hand it's that thing of like. oh how much am in intellectualising these feelings? how much am i getting so focused on the potential processes behind these feelings, so much so that i'm not feeling them, and not considering the visceral aspects of them?

like autism makes ur own feelings hard enough even without trying to get into other people's feelings, what they're doing, what they were thinking or what their motivations were, etc, and then it's just... A Lot

idk i try give ppl as much love and grace as ever possible bc it's just like, even when someone's being the worst cunt in the world, there's normally a reason for it. no one does what they do for no reason, and very few ppl are truly like. acting out of sadism or a desire to do harm to others - more often than that ppl are just thoughtless or self-centred, and i know there are reasons for that as well

and in my mind theres only 3 headcannons i can come up with that make sense to me

1. mable and dipper pines situation where one always swears theyre taller but its always up for debate.

2. chip's magical bandana that makes him handsome also makes him like a couple inches taller than everyone (he is the shortest out of the albatrio in this option)

3. chip is shorter than jay but he wears heeled boots and SWEARS its cause they match with his outfit or cause theyre better to sneak in or theyre comfy (he only wears them cause it makes him taller than jay)

AAAHH okay so the short version is 'girl performs a feat of experimental magic that ends up killing her brother (who raised her and was the most important person to her in the whole wide world), proceeds to lose her hinges'.

She and her brother lived in a little place in the Lower City in Baldur's Gate while she pursued her career and apprenticeship as a wizard, but even before The Incident, she was a wizard, which meant she was subject to a certain level of self-assuredness bordering on hubris, and like many wizards, this manifested in trying to perform magic she was unqualified for. She doesn't remember what it was she was even trying to do, but it ended up with her half-blind and her brother dead.

Her response to this while nearly bleeding out from a magically-induced facial laceration was not just, "Dear gods what have I done?" it was, "Dear gods, what have I done? I have to fix this," because even having clearly just Found Out, she was still a wizard, which meant she wasn't about to stop Fucking Around.

And to a wizard who is heavily grieving and fresh out of an incredibly traumatic event, Fucking Around looks a lot like enchanting a loved one's dead body so that it won't rot and speaking to it every day while you direct increasingly concerning questions to your teacher/employer until they finally notice the haunted look that has begun settling over you and make the wise decision to cut off the arrangement before that particular pot boils over.

She got better. Eventually. Ish.

Realized the reason for my sudden and very intense burnout is because I'm in front of a screen for eight hours a day, five days a week, "socializing" with customers, and then barely have any energy to spare when I get home. The want to create and talk with friends and mutuals is there, but my need to decompress for what feels like five business days overruns all of it.

It's...not the best feeling, I'll be honest. Especially when I'm having moments where I'm feeling particularly creative. Feels like I'm letting people down (I'm not, I know) or not keeping up with other creatives (it's not a competition and I don't need to compare myself to others, I know). Sometimes I wonder if I'm making anything that's actually good or if I'm just being annoying (which is fine because the point of this is to enjoy my space and what I enjoy, I know!!!) and I just have to step back and think a bit.

I'm not going anywhere, I'm too wrapped up in my faves to leave for too long, I just wanted to get my mind out for a bit. Writing posts like these helps me kinda reorient myself and reminds me that I'm decorating my blog with my thoughts, my friends' thoughts, and other things that I enjoy. Acknowledgment is nice, but is not a necessary part for me to enjoy doing what I do. And I just need to keep that in mind!
