Curate Your Tumblr Experience, homies
Curating your dash is such an awesome and cool thing to do. Is there a ship or headcanon or topic of discourse you hate? You can filter it out!!!
I'm not sure if people know how, so for those who do please bear through the redundancy:
On your profile page, go the the gear in the upper right hand corner for settings. Tap Account Settings. Scroll down to Content You See.
From there, you will see a space for Filtered Tags. You can add all the tags of things you don't want showing up on the dash!
For example, I have h*rringrove as one of mine, same with anyone x reader/x fem reader/x you, etc, because I just don't like those kinda fics. If you don't want to see any bi mike/gay mike posts, melvin posts, trigger stuff, whatever, choose the tags you don't want to see!
The next level of this is just below it, Filtered Post Content. This will allow you to filter any posts that feature words or phrases you don't like in the text of the post.
For instance, before I saw Across the Spiderverse (so good!!! go see it!!!!), I didn't want anybody spoiling shit on my dash. So I filtered both tags and post content for astv, across the spider verse, across the spiderverse, etc.
You may have to type different variations to ensure everything is filtered out.
This isn't foolproof, but it's pretty damn effective most of the time and makes it so you don't have to necessarily block people or stop following the main tag. Hope this helps some people!!

Hello everyone quick PSA to my fellow content creators and fanfic writers!
I know it is a hassle to check one by one who is following us, and with the last waves of porn bots it's just to open profile, see if it is a picture with a sexy lady with nonsense url/name, but i cannot shut up about this.
I recently found a blog interacting with my dp/dc content that turned out be not just homophobic, but also transphobic and white-supremacist.
DP spaces in specific are usually pretty safe, which can make us get a little lax with who we’re interacting with.
Stay safe everyone and remember you have the power to curate your own fandom experience. ✨

i really admire your writing!!! i wanted to know if you have any book or story recommendations :D thank you!!!
thank you so much!! ;__; writing is an incredibly important part of my life (as well as my creative process), so i really appreciate the compliment.
here are some of my favorite short stories:
Prime by Caoilinn Hughes
Wolf Alice by Angela Carter
Funny Little Snake by Tessa Hadley
Onion by Caitlin R. Kiernan
annnd some favorite books:
House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski
Half Bad (from the Half Bad Trilogy) by Sally Green
Frankissstein: A Love Story by Jeanette Winterson
literally show me a healthy person by Darcie Wilder
please be warned that these stories contain heavy and/or potentially triggering topics, so approach with care. i have listed the triggers (that i can remember) under the read more. please note that these content warnings may also contain spoilers for the story.
It's been a while since I've read these stories, so most of these trigger warnings are from sources I found online— take them with a pinch of salt, and take care of yourself as well.
Prime: implied parental abuse, child death, insect mentions (crushing a wasp/being stung)
Wolf Alice: parental death, descriptive gore, description of character's first period
Onion: xenophobic remarks, fatphobic comments, anorexia/ED mention
House of Leaves: animal death (graphic death of a dog), adultery, unreality, rape, incest, sexual abuse, alcoholism, child abuse, agoraphobia, suicide, family death, gun violence, stalking
Half Bad: graphic descriptions of torture, violence, and physical abuse, much of which is directed at or perpetrated by children
Frankissstein: sexual assault, rape, transphobia and trans misogyny, animal cruelty/death, miscarriages
literally show me a healthy person: suicidal thoughts, suicide, parental death, self harm, sexual assault, domestic abuse, terminal illness, drug use, alcoholism

Yo Kazu! Is your inbox also getting flooded with newly created accounts with a sob-story for crowdfounding lately? I got three just today 😕
Hey there! Luckily, my inbox is free of that currently, but a few months ago I a got a couple of those very suspicious asks. And last month, I got the sudden flood of bot followers, though it only lasted for around a week.
I feel like the bots may be targeting groups of users in waves? Either way, stay safe!

The Toxic Merging of Fiction and Reality
An Anti gr///via Post
Warning: Picture Depicts Triggering Language
Hidden beneath the "keep reading" button is a screenshot of a conversation my good tumblr friend @graylu-heartbuster sent me. She gave me permission to post this and @ her. She frequently has discussions with Fairy Tail fans online, and as such, she often meets more than unsavory individuals.
This particular one is a Pro gr///vian who was so angered by my friend shipping differently than them that they dared to tell her to harm herself. (In very graphic language too, so please be safe and don't continue to read if that triggers you).
Tumblr media
This is an example of an actually despicable human being. Some people have fragile mental states. For those people, seeing someone tell you to do this to yourself and call you all of these slurs could very well be the tipping point, all over defending an anime ship??????
And of course the person receiving this hate doesn’t need to be in a bad place mentally in order for this act to be absolutely despicable. It’s disgusting no matter whom this is said to.
Honestly, I'm appalled by this person.
The purpose of this post isn't to shame all Pros because most of them are not like this, and there are these types in every part of every fandom.
But this does show that some people cannot distinguish fiction from reality, which is what I've been warning against almost since the beginning of my blog.
The line is so blurred for this person that they reacted to my friend's aversion to gr///via with the same venom as if they were juvia, and as if my friend had besmirched her honor in the most horrific way.
It only helps prove my theory that some of the Pros are just as delusional as juvia which is why they worship her, using her as a self-insert.
Because who in their right mind would tell someone to end themselves because they don't ship what you do and ship something else?
This is why I hate it when people (in particular, I've heard it a lot from Pros in defense of gr///via) say "oh, fiction isn't reality, and fiction doesn't affect reality at all, so you can do whatever you want in fiction with no consequences!", because guess what, fiction does affect reality.
Fiction is a major driving force in culture. It is often used as a vehicle for pushing agendas and belief systems, and the way fictional characters react to things being preached to them and how the story unfolds because of it are very telling. Fiction also clearly entrances people so much they're willing to go to such extremes in its defense. Some people can parse out that they like juvia and gr///via because they're separating fiction from reality, but clearly some people are wholly unable to do so.
It would be very easy to see how juvia's insanity and detachment from reality (i.e. how she is deluded into believing that Gray loves her and that her ignoring Gray's consent and wishes is okay) could have bled into this awful individual's life, reinforcing their idea that what they're doing is praiseworthy, that they can attack others like juvia does and still be the hero and still be rewarded in the end just as juvia is when she finally sinks her claws into Gray's manipulated heart.
These are not the lessons this sick person needs. What they need is a wake-up call, the cold hard truth, that the way they're acting is unacceptable and that they are not the hero. The fiction of gr///via and juvia's selfish and downright nasty behavior within Fairy Tail is just fortifying their belief that they're in the right.
I wouldn't go as far as to say that juvia's actions are the only reason this person is being so disgusting, but it certainly doesn't help. When you praise and promote delusion in fiction like Fairy Tail does with juvia, you can't be surprised when people adopt that delusion in real life.
My heart goes out to my friend, as well as any person out there who has to deal with this type of cyber bullying. I just hope this serves as a reminder that gr///via can definitely negatively impact others in real ways in real life, and that juvia's behavior isn't excused just because it's fantasy.
I pray the person who sent this dm gets a rude awakening that they cannot treat people this way in reality and be rewarded for it.

No offense to those who like Belos as a villain, but he deserved what he got and it's a good thing he wasn't portrayed as this tragic figure, because yeah. He simply wasn't.
He was the one who couldn't accept those different than him, he was the one who killed his own brother and the grimwalkers he made to try and form a version of Caleb into something he isn't, he is the one who lived for over 400 years yet never changed his mind and kept on getting worse, he literally tried to genocide the entire boiling isles and nearly succeeded. He's nothing more than a bigot with too much power, and when people tried to be nice to him, he hurt them even more. And all of his own hurt he brought upon himself. Literally.
The whole point of Belos, in a narrative sense, is that some bigots (no matter their excuse and upbringing) won't change, and that you cannot argue with a fascist who would not hesitate to kill you if they had the chance. Even Luz's silence towards him in his final moments is literally just "don't feed the bigot, as for he will grow stronger", Belos tried to get under Luz's skin and tried to manipulate her again, and nothing she could've said would've made a difference except that it'd give Belos the satisfaction of running his mouth again.
Him being treated like nothing more than a pile of dirt in his last moments, especially after 400 years of him being a violent bigot, is a fitting ending for him, especially for what he symbolizes in the story. There is such a thing as being too far gone, and that's what Belos is. People can change, but in order to change they have to want change to themselves and they'd have to own up to the stuff they did, and in Belos' case, he wouldn't have done either of those.
Sometimes it's fine to have an irredeemable villain, even if they're complex. Also I've seen some people say "but Belos' upbringing wasn't the best and that's why he held those beliefs!' as if that's an excuse to what he did and like. if you want a story of someone with the exact same upbringing as Belos, who has later changed his beliefs and realized they were wrong, that's literally who Caleb is. And it's also Belos who did not accept this either, and killed him for it.
Anyway TLDR, disrespect your local fascist/bigot and silence them, and also sometimes you just simply can't change people. and a story showing this isn't in the wrong nor is it erasing any complexities, that's simply how it be sometimes

think I should add this too in case anyone else planning to hasn’t seen it yet. They’re vaguing about trigger warnings again but the “distressing themes” that show up in RWBY V9 Chapter 8 are suicide, death, PTSD, abuse and panic attacks. It makes me upset that this isn’t clarified from the get-go anymore. Stay safe, y’all update: much better and clearer post made on this by someone else but I’m not deleting this one cus it needs to get shared around exactly what the hell goes down in this episode

Hey y'all I just got one of those Pet donation scam asks; please be careful and block/report them if they come up! A big red flag is if they say something along the lines of "Please do send me a msg to reply or answer the ask privately". I've looked into it and that seems to be a fairly common line along these scam posts.
Be safe y'all!
