Prompt: “If you leave me now I’ll die. I can’t survive without you.”

It hadn't been a mistake to participate in the Steel Ball Run. The money, even outside of first place, would have been life-changing. It had been a mistake, though, to ride alongside Johnny Joestar and Gyro Zeppeli. The two of them attracted trouble like nothing else, and you were forced to become tangled up in their web.

It was you who they turned to after another fight to patch up their wounds. It was you who fielded their fighting and complaining. Despite how much you took care of them, they showed you little respect. Gyro brushed aside your knowledge and would often imply you were the reason for their bad luck... But if you tried to set off on your own, Johnny would beg and plead for you to stay. He'd tell you that Gyro really did appreciate you, and like a fool, you'd believe him. They took advantage of your kindness and used the harsh nature of the race to goad you into staying.

You stayed, then. Convinced yourself that they were right and that their protection was a reward for you taking care of them even though they were perfectly capable of doing it themselves.

You stayed with them and watched Gyro die; watched as Johnny killed Funny Valentine and protected Lucy Steel. You watched, too, as your chance at winning whilst Johnny fought for his life. You don't know why you stayed... you could have taken off in the confusion. Could have potentially placed in the Top 5, but instead, you'd followed Johnny to the end.

You'd followed him home at his request, waiting for him while he returned Gyro to his homeland.

And here you were, 2 months after Johnny had returned. You were standing above your bed, frozen, with your suitcase open in front of you.

Johnny was standing just inside the doorframe, his grip on his cane white-knuckled. His pale, freckled cheeks were flushed pink with frustration, and his lips were downturned into a pout you'd grown very used to.

He'd caught you trying to leave.

"Going somewhere?" Johnny's voice is cold when he speaks. It scared you, honestly, how cool and collected he was when he was angry. You would have liked it more if he had pleaded and cried, but this... This was scary. He takes a step forward, cane tapping against the floor, and you flinch. Johnny scoffs. "Really? Scared a'me?"

You turn to face him, your lips were drawn in a tight line across your face. "No," you lie. "Just startled me. I thought you would be too tired for the cane today." Johnny had been able to regain some strength after the 'miracle' at the end of the race he refused to elaborate about. He'd go until he was tired, though, and you'd encouraged him to use his chair if he needed it. Pride kept him from taking care of himself, and he expected you to keep an eye on him instead.

"Nah." Johnny steps forward until he's directly next to you. Without a word, he sits next to your suitcase on the bed and begins to take what clothes you'd managed to pack out one by one.

His silence unnerves you.

"Johnny, it's not what you think." You start, knowing it was a lie. "I just... I want to see my family. It's been over a year now." You pause, and then continue, hoping to appeal to him. "I need to see them. You get it, right?"

Johnny freezes and slowly turns his head to look at you. "Is that so?" He stares at you and narrows his eyes. "Did you forget? I'm your family now. If you went..." Johnny's expression turns from anger to sorrow. "I'd be all alone again."

"Johnny..." You call his name softly. You knew what he was doing, but you felt powerless to stop it. "I'd come back." Another lie. "It'd just be for a week or so."

It'd be permanent.

Johnny gives you a long, hard look before he stands from the bed. He wraps his arms around your waist and forces you to sit on the bed, stepping in between your legs so he can look down at you. He holds your gaze until you avert your eyes, anxious.

"Look at me." Johnny says. He brings one of his hands up to cup your cheek, calloused fingertips skimming across your skin. There's a look in his eyes now that you can't quite place, and somehow, they look different. "If you leave me now, I'll die. I can't survive without you."

Your stomach drops. Johnny had said many things... but he'd never threatened that. You feel frozen under his touch, his thumb stroking soft lines across your cheek. "I... Johnny..." You struggle with your words, unsure of what to say. What could you say?

"All I need 'ta hear is that you won't leave me." Johhny brings up his other hand so that your face is cupped on both sides. It feels patronizing. "You're not going to go now, right?" Johnny pinches your cheeks and grins. His sudden shift in mood meant that he knew he'd already won. Of course you wouldn't go. How could you, after that?

"I won't leave you." You affirm, leaning away from his touch. Johnny drops his hands from your face and instead sits back on the bed, his body pressed up against yours. His arm comes to wrap around your shoulder, and you're suddenly reminded of the preternatural strength you'd seen from him more than once. A chill runs down your spine. Would he ever hurt you...? You swallow, your throat suddenly dry, and add, "I'm not going to go."

Johnny sighs in contentment, accepting your answer. The arm around you squeezes gently as he leans in to lay his head against your shoulder.

"Glad ya know you're all mine."

were officially there everyone, sammi finally BROKE and made a whole comic about Hot Pants and how have LOVE to seen her written because i think shes a WONDERFUL character who was under utilized...

Au/rewrite notes under cut

HP and Diego started Traveling together after the part Ringo Roadagain, Diego seeing Hp placing first and is a capable stand user as well as finding out he is after the Corpse parts he finds it suitable they team up as an unstoppable team. showing her the eye he collected to prove he was useful to her they have been riding together since to help each other collect the corpse while knowing full well sooner or later their partnership will end in tears as they have two very different goals for the corpse in mind.

Lucy isnt married to Steel, He is her Godfather who has taken her in after he father died and all her siblings were split up to different homes. Steel has been close to the family since Lucy was young and cares for Steel a lot as the last closest family she has now.

She finds out about valentines plans to kill Steel and in kansas city goes out to collect the corpse part and meets Johnny and Gyro. They two arnt able to stop and help her themselves as they have to hurry and get to the next parts of the corpse before Valentines goons do. But through some means they get in touch with Hot Pants, potentially waiting just long enough to meet her when she reaches to check point in Kansas city and ask her to help Lucy.

HP agrees over some form of agreement, maybe johnny give up some part of the corpse to her as an offering..

HP joins Lucy in her quest to get the heart from Valentine. HP ends up in charge of seducing the Presidents wife and keeping her distracted while Lucy gets to the presidents sleeping quarters. Lucy ends up caught by Tubular Bells and the Plan falls apart.

HP gets close to getting the corpse parts from Valentine but ultimately ends up losing most to all of the parts she herself had instead when she ends up choosing to save Lucy instead of getting out with the parts.

this leads to HP and Lucy escaping and HP deciding to keep Lucy by her side and not let her return to the race/Steel as they worry Lucy’s life is now in danger even if no one knows she was there.

HP tells steel what's going on and that they will keep Lucy out of site and make sure whatever Valentines Plans are, dont happen.

Hp herself has been a stand user since she killed her brother. something of that day awoke her innate ability that was already in her family bloodline from somewhere that day. She barely used Cream Starter seeing it as an item of burden for her sin.

Until the infiltration she has barely used it, but when she died it was always for offense to blind/suffocate others or using it to melt herself down. Not until that fight would she find out her Cream Starter had healing abilities.

Dio gets made fun of for getting beat by his his own power but better, Kira and Pucci are getting made fun of for being beat by literal children, Kira doubly so for getting done in by a fucking ambulance, Dio is constantly bringing up how his son beat Diavlo, Kars is getting made fun of for being blasted into the sky, Valentine's faces SO much criticism for trying to make a deal with the enemy (even though it was a trap), and even refuses to let Toru live his loss down because he literally gave away his position and had the best Stand to deal with it

maybe there's a side room added on to the house with a bunch of DVDs and manga

With everyone making Jodio out to be Giorno's counterpart and assuming he's related to Dio, somehow multiple of us (me and my partner 💀) forgot that Dio in Jodio's story isnt a vampiric god of death but instead is just a horse rider who DIED before seemingly passing on his legacy.

which frankly, im super fucking interested in how Diego and Jodio could be related with that in mind.

if theyre not related, then i think Jodio's name would point towards his story roll instead. Imagine ending off jojo with a protag that basically just both dio and jojo. not like giorno who was subtle. but like, Jodio could be a villian. that would be epic. all this assuming his name is more than just "fucked up"

No bc why did Johnny just suffer non-stop for his entire fucking life - he was abused from a young age by his shitty dad, he saw his brother die and blamed himself for it, became disabled because of an extremely minor offense during a time period where being disabled was especially hard, was abandoned in an abusive hospital and disowned by his dad who should KILL HIMSELF, made a single (1) friend only to watch him die, had the chance to bring his friend back dangled in his face, the whole fucking ordeal with alt. Diego, fell in love and had 2 kids BUT THEN IMMEDIATELY his wife started to die, stole the corpse to heal her (going against his agreement with the only 2 people from the race he had left) but then his fucking son started to die instead, finally he died by getting his head crushed by a fucking boulder at the age of only 29????!!?!??!?!?!??!!

Like he just suffered constantly and never really won and never had the life he deserved but despite EVERYTHING he showed such remarkable resilience and KINDNESS throughout his life, he SAVED Lucy and his family and loved animals and hoped for things to get better despite it all and fought so hard and came so far and even missed and grieved for his ENEMIES because of how much the race meant to him and it was all destroyed at the end despite everything he did and his legacy continued on but they'll never know what we know and its been 100 years and he's been dead for so fucking long and has faded into an old folktale and all the characters from SBR are GONE and the world has moved on and time has passed and the inheritance of curses, burden and trauma through the bloodline and I miss Johnny so much and he unknowingly set in motion the curse of his descendants all to save his wife and then his son who he cherished despite being abused by his own father and how different would everything had been if he just received the love he deserved from his family and oh my god he's just like Jonathan and Jolyne and he acted out of pure love even if it went against everything he'd previously fought for because he is so incredibly human and even though he's gone and his descendants will never know him, his sacrifice and love and resilience persists through them and we know that but they can't and -

What a neat character! He manages to be the best example of the "counterparts" to the original cast by showing an alternate path that the series most well loved character could have taken while also being able to stand perfectly fine as his own character! It sure would be a shame if, hypothetically, he was killed off in a scene that isn't acknowledged in the slightest in favour of a sex joke in front of his actual corpse. It really would suck if after his death, his perception within certain areas of the fandom is tainted because, in a totally hypothetical scenario, a version of him from an alternate universe who has an *extremely* unlikeable trait that only exists for (unfortunately very series typical) shock value which makes it impossible to discuss him in some spaces in the fandom without this being brought up! Sure glad that didn't happen!

Btw just wondering, what r u opinions on sbr? I know u occasionally draw gyjo, but I was wondering if u like it or not because I don’t really see much of it but I get that diu and gw are just superior, but also tbh Id love to see Diego and Hot Pants in ur style.. 🤔🤔

I think SBR is honestly one of the best if not the best Jojo arcs on its own. Loved the plot, loved the characters and the setting. It's just harder to get into because fewer people have seen it, so there's less content and less hype. I recommend it a lot tho, one of the best jojo-jobro dynamics period.

I have drawn Diego a couple of times, and I actually made SBR stickers for a zine!
