Hero inspo to go with lipstick lady beetle Rose: Tortoise beetles! I was thinking mainly for ladybug/turtle fusions but the colorations are fun so you could use them for design elements for other turtle fusions too
ladybug!Luka (who I imagine as blue half the time with the bug miraculouses because the steelblue lady beetle (halmus chalybeus) and sweat bees + metallic orchid bees exist) or Viperion/turtle fusion is the imperial tortoise beetle (stolas imperialis, i love me some metallic colored insects)
Marinette or ladybug!Chloé could be the asian spotted tortoise beetle (aspidimorpha miliaris, they seem to come in red or white/yellow coloration. the see through part would be so cool)
bee!Chloé could be a target or ringed tortoise beetles (Ischnocodia annulus and Plagiometriona phoebe, I'd also suggest bee!Zoe for this except the color and the rings really remind of stripes and yellow and stripes are Chloé's thing so it seems more fittiing)
Chat Noir/turtle fusion would be any number of green tortoise beelte but for aesthetics you could go with cassida circumdata, because they look really cool
OH?

@sourb0i submitted: I saw this in Southern California! I’m pretty sure it’s a steel blue ladybird, although the internet said they’re native to Australia so I’m not sure.
It is indeed a steelblue lady beetle, Halmus chalybeus. They’re native to Australia but have been introduced to quite a few other places including southern California!

✤ Halmus chalybeus - (Steelblue ladybird)
This Coccinellidae species is native to Australia, and I like to see them as an aussie icon. It’s interesting to start studying bugs that have been around all your life.
