For the winx couples, I always liked the idea of Bloom and Stella. They'd be so cute together idk, just something about the friends to lovers storylines just does it for me XD

( their ship name is sun dragon and no one can change my mind)

And on the other hand i also like the ship between Bloom and Stella but as an Unrequited love. Unicorn of war did this in his season 6 rewrite and its become my biggest theory. Like Bloom having a crush on Stella and her just pretending that crush doesn't exist because she loves her but not romantically. idk that dynamic is interesting :p

gonna use this ask for solarflare since you bring up some really fun stuff!

I don't really see them as romantic

I definitely am not against this one, but it just doesn't super appeal to me because I really strongly see Stella as the big sister Bloom was meant to have. Since Daphne is dead and all that.

They're sweet

I love their friendship so much so I definitely understand why people ship them! Stella would definitely enable Bloom's anger more than Sky does and Bloom would enable Stella's chaos. If they became a full couple I think they would become the best kind of insane force of nature.

Oh the devotion

These two are already each other's biggest cheer leaders lol. I think there could be a problem tho in Stella's flirty nature, and Bloom's jealousy issues, but they would love each other enough to work it out I'm sure

So, in the process of trying to get my partner into one of my childhood favorites, Winx Club, the brain gremlins took hold of me and I am now in the process of creating a rewrite. Not the entirety of canon, but definitely the first three seasons and throwing in some extra stuff from other seasons that I really enjoyed as well as some of my own personal flair.

That being said, a rewrite obviously has to come with redesigns and I have literally just finished up everyone's first transformation

Layla, or Aisha, is up first! I did really enjoy her original design (honestly, they're all wonderful) but it just wasn't going to work for my AU. Considering she's from a planet that is dominated by water, as well as being related to actual mermaids, I absolutely had to add in more mermaid traits. So we have wings that look and act similar to dorsal fins in the water which makes her an exceptionally fast swimmer, almost on par with her cousins. Then, of course, I had to include shells in there. The shells that function as her heels are angel wing shells and a horn snail shell.

Musa, oh Musa. Her original was lovely but it just didn't have enough punk inspiration. Luckily I was more than happy to provide a little in the form of shorts and a half skirt on top of wonderful boots with buckles. I did keep the sheer centerpiece though because I really wanted to pay some respect to the original. Also, and this is just my personal opinion, space buns are superior. My shining glory of this design has to be the wings, though. The bass clefs are wonderful but to top it all off I had to add the CD shine. It was a necessity. Also, if you haven't noticed the fact that her arm accessories mirror Layla/Aisha's, now is the time to notice. SoundWave will be a thing in this AU.

Flora needed more green! She deserves a little green considering she's a nature fairy and how else would I incorporate it other than vines? Especially considering she uses vine attacks all the time! Also that rose inspired skirt was a pain to do but so worth it. If anyone deserves a rose skirt, it's Flora.

While I do love Tecna, her original always felt like it was missing something so, after some scrolling through sci-fi stuff, I added the cropped jacket to it and more green for her as well. The ear piece actually extends into a helmet with a retractable visor, I'll probably post another image with it on full display another time.

Another thing to add is that there is a criminal shortage of Flora x Tecna content to the point that I haven't even seen a fun little ship name for them. So, I'll just be using BioTech.

Getting right into Stella's redesign, starting with the wings! I did like her original wings but with her being the fairy of the sun I kind of just spread them out similar to the way rays of light look. As for her outfit, I really wanted to add onto the ethereal kind of look with gorgeous drapery similar to what you see in depictions of goddesses but with a modern twist! Hence the underbust and other additions.

Bloom but much more draconian. As she deserved considering she's the keeper of the dragon fire. Dragon wings. Dragon scales. Need I say more? Yes, actually. Her boots are more armor like, which was fun but not the best part. The silver chains, the necklace, the gemstones. They're made to be a mirror to Stella's because SolarFlare is absolutely iconic. They deserve each other so much and it is my mission to highlight this fact.

I have so much planned for this AU. So many ideas that I've already noted down and places I want to go with this, I can't wait to get started.

And I literally just realized that this AU needs an actual name, so I'm going to go with Psyche. The reasons why will become clear later. 💜

stuff that makes me think #solarflare is canon (part 1)

So I was on tumblr ages ago but deactivated and disappeared for years, and I’ve said nothing about my new tastes and ships, but maybe I’m back. My latest (but also oldest?) obsession is Winx Club and I totally support Bloom x Stella, which is quite popular on tumblr and I had no idea so good for us solarflare shippers hehe

However, I think most people in the Winx fandom don’t know many details from the Italian version because some quotes are translated in a slightly different way, or some songs aren’t even translated. I’m talking of “Lightning Magic” from 1x05, “Date with Disaster”. Unfortunately, the songs from season 1 don’t have a full English translation and all we can find is the chorus, which says:

Which is not bad, but it omits SO many things that Bloom basically sings to Stella, who’s missing, so here’s my translation of the whole song for those who have never known the entire lyrics. Don’t mind the music, the translation is not meant to be sung (otherwise I’d have to cut some parts and add changes, and that is not my intention). I just want the world to know what Bloom actually says, and each word of this is canon:

Are we ignoring that Bloom actually said she dreams of a tale to live with Stella, or how her soul lights up when Stella is with her??? Like, I know the song starts playing in the background so it could be any of the Winx’thoughts about Stella, but it says “I am looking for you” and the episode is about how Bloom is the only one who remembers the details of Stella’s date and where she was headed, and in the end the Trix make her choose between Stella and the teleport ring. So idk, it doesn’t sound too straight :D

Stella goes on Earth to try to escape the magical dimension just for an afternoon. There she meets a read haired girl.

Observing her surrounding, Stella felt quite nervous. She knew she shouldn't be here, but she couldn't take the pressure anymore. The princess loved the attention she would get. She loved her family and loved being the symbol of a more modern and progressive dynasty. Her father was the sun after all and, not like a few of their ancestors, he loved being a magical creature. Controlling the sun meant having power. She couldn't remember the name of that king. She couldn't be sure. She never listened to her tutors. This man had hated being a fairy. However, being male and having powers did not necessarily mean being a fairy. He could have been a wizard, a warlock, a magician, a paladin... The list was long. But this was not important. The man hated it so much to the point he married a fairy to hide behind her. He stated that she had been chosen to control the sun. The poor woman had been known as the "Illusion Queen". A cruel name for her cruel life.

Stella considered herself lucky. Her father was a proud mage. She was a powerful fairy. They formed the ideal family. But what about the Queen?

Solaria had no queen. Luna, Stella's mother was back on Selene, the realm of the moon and moonlight. She loved her mother's realm a lot. It was very different from Solaria, more peaceful somehow. But today, she ran away. She ran away from people, from her parents, from her duties, and school.

She had looked for a place where nobody could find her. Where magic could not be tracked down easily. And here she was, sipping on a fizzy drink she had ordered. The weather was nice, not as nice as on Solaria, but warm enough so she could relax in the sunlight. She was wondering how could there be another sun. That's something she always asks herself. The thought of other suns being independent of her dad's control was weird to her. She tried to glance at it multiple times but it burnt her eyes right away. Yes, it was definitely indeed, it was a different solar system.

Glancing back at her drink, she thought of her parents. They had divorced years ago. Stella had only been twelve. It might be selfish, but she felt like she did not deserve what had happened next. She had become the laughing stock of the magical dimension. Her father might have been proud of his magical heritage, but many kingdoms were still conservative. Stella was the stereotypical princess they liked to criticize. she was too outspoken, too blond, too opinionated, too pretty. And she was never smart enough. Her first year at Alfea ending the way it did only seemed to prove those kingdoms right. One had been particularly virulent toward her, Heraklion. Funny when you knew she was a dear friend of their prince. They had met during her first year and she had liked him quite a lot. He was drastically different from what she imagined the King and the Queen of Heraklion could create. He was smart, had a lot of humor, confident but in a very charming and funny way, good-hearted... The list was long. Blushing slightly, she blamed the earthling sun.

On the opposite side of the restaurant, Stella heard a sweet voice. She looked up at the girl. She was rather small (but then again Stella was very tall) and curvy. She had a petite frame. From what Stella could see, her skin was covered in freckles. She thought the girl looked cute. She had dramatic long red hair that shone golden in the sunlight. Its different layers triggered Stella's passion for fashion. She had never seen such a haircut before. The girl's hair was cut short, right under her shoulder. And yet, long locks of hair softly curled their way down her back. Looking more closely at her, Stella noticed weird energy coming from the girl, but did not question it much. She was on earth after all.

The red head felt eyes on her back turned around. She met two hazel eyes looking at her curiously. Feeling awkward, she tried to look elsewhere but the blond waved at her, indicating her to come to join her at her table. "What the -" Bloom thought. She didn't know her. Why would she want her to join? Bloom glanced around, noticing a group of high schoolers she knew. They could have been an option if they hadn't been bullies. Maybe they would not notice her if she sat with the blond girl. Her table was far enough. Sighing she walked slowly toward her. She could see the blond curious eyes on her hair. She stopped. No way... Was this girl going to mention something about her hair too? She loved her hair but had a very conflictual relationship with it because of the bullying.

Stella noticed the girl's fear and decided to smile at her once more. Bloom looked at her. She seemed so genuine. She could not be a bully, right?

She sat down at the table, uncomfortable.

"Hi! I couldn't stop looking at your hair!" Bloom froze. Here we go again. "I have never seen such a haircut," Bloom started to fumble with her hands. "I love it!" Bloom snapped her head up.

"You... you like it?"

"I do! So much volume and shine!"

"I did not expect that..." Bloom whispered.

"Why not?" Stella had heard her.

"Oh... sorry, I didn't want to sound rude."

"You didn't. Tell me, what did you expect me to say?"

"Hmmm. I... I don't know."

"Did you think I would ask you to join me just to criticize you?!" Bloom said nothing. "Why would I do that?" The girl just looked down, mortified. "Who in their right mind would do that. That's straight-up bullying!"

Bloom's face was red from shame. She had assumed she was a Mitzi kind of person just because she looked fashionable in her short purple skirt, her blue crop top, and her sunglasses. She had offended the girl while she had only completed her looks.

Rescuing Bloom, the waiter gave her her Blue Frappe Vanilla Latte and a small pitcher with cold milk in it. She saw the blond eying the drink curiously but said nothing.

Her haed still down, Bloom took the small metal pitcher and poured the milk into her drink.

"You like cute when you blush," Stella said, making Bloom blush even more. The girl looked utterly choked. "What, never heard a compliment before?"

"Th-thank you."

"I wasn't commenting on your lack of politeness. I don't care about that. I was talking about the face you are making. Firstly, you think I'm a bully, then you looked absolutely flabbergasted by my comment... You must have really bad friends." Bloom let out a laugh between her teeth. She did have a few bad friends, but friends did not complement one another like this. "And no I'm not hitting on you. No offense but I prefer brunettes." That actually made Bloom giggle.

"It's just that... people don't usually say they like my hair."

"Why not?"

"Hum," Bloom didn't know what to say, "because of the color? Looks like rust and all, you know."

"No, I don't," thought Stella.

"People make fun of it."

"How bizarre... it's just a color among many others."

"You would think that it's easy, but you are blond. People loved blonds."

"My dad has ginger her." Stella said shortly.

"Oh..."

"And he is a very respected man. Nobody pays attention to his hair." She said with confidence. "What a weird place." She added more to herself.

"You are not from around here, I guess." Stella laughed at this.

"Obviously not, according to our conversation darling."

"You are here on vacations ?"

"You can say that, yes."

"Why Gardenia?"

"I'm sorry?"

"Gardenia, the town. There isn't much to do around here. And we are not exactely close to the beach either."

Stella looked at her for a long time. She couldn't put a finger on what she was feeling exactly, but this girl was not a regular earthling. Or was she?

"I'm Bloom by the way", she said, feeling guilty.

"I"m Stella." She omitted her title knowingly.

"Nice to meet you Stella."

"Now tell me, what in the world is that thing you are drinking!"

Bloom laughed and started to explain her drink.

This one will probably have a second part when the girls meet again and Knut comes for Stella. The reason? It always frustrated me how quickly the guys went back to Magix and how easy it was to convince Bloom's parents. It's lacking material...

I'm a barista myself so writing this one was fun! The drink Bloom has is a specialty we do at my coffee shop. It's called "Blue *name of the place* Latte". It's a drink with white chocolate, blue butterfly pea, vanilla, almond milk, and banana. It's very popular.
