I think all of my animals are learning levitation now. Should I be concerned?

Q has grown a LOT since I got her, but is somehow still smallish. I’ve started handlings and have learned she’s quite the little biter. Heh. Still seems to be female. I’ll know for sure over the next couple months, as this is the size/age where the males start developing their belly pores.

my favorite stupid latin derivation is that stellio is a latin word for lizard, but it doesn't come from any word like SNAKE or WYRM like a lot of names for reptiles usually do, it comes from stella (star), because....

August 14, World Lizard Day!
Our friends @histsciart remind us that today is World Lizard Day, a day to celebrate this enormous group of squamate reptiles that includes over 6,000 species. Today we bring you chromolithographs and wood engravings of just a few of them from volume one, part three of the 1882-84 edition of Brehms Thierleben. From top to bottom we have:
Wall Lizard (Podarcis muralis) Frilled-necked Lizard (Chlamydosaurus kingii) Stellagama (Stellagama stellio) Common Basilisk (Basiliscus basiliscus) Green iguana (Iguana iguana) Flying Dragon (Draco volans) Asian Water Monitor (Varanus salvator) Chameleons (family Chamaeleonidae) Wall Gecko (Tarentola mauritanica)
Yay, Lizards!!

Here are some of the animals I was lucky to see during last summer’s mini Eurotrip:
The Greek tortoise (Testudo graeca), also known commonly as the spur-thighed tortoise. Found in the mountains of Kos Island, Greece.
The griffon vulture (Gyps fulvus), a VERY large population found near Sepulveda, Spain.
Ophisops elegans, commonly known as the snake-eyed lizard. At least I hope I identified it correctly...
Stellagama stellio, in plain English known as the starred agama or the roughtail rock agama. Found 30 km East of Kos Town, Kos Island, Greece as well as in the cracks between the rocks on the way to Zia.

Q refusing to be photogenic. Yeah just moosh your toes all weird into the wall and freak people out. She’s getting bigger every day. Hopefully she’ll like Sterling when they’re eventually the same size.
2020 is hopefully going to see the first Sterling and Quicksilver clutch. :D
