Remus does struggle with dating Sirius and becoming Harry's stepparent when Harry is 6/7, and Harry acts out, and it's very well done. They still have their struggles even into Harry's teens, which feels very realistic. That's not to say that Remus doesn't care about Harry in this fic! They both love each other very much, but the author does a good job acknowledging that it's going to be a struggle for them both.

That being said, I would like more fics where Remus is Harry's stepdad and has to deal with becoming part of an already-established family.
