I like Hazbin so far, but I do feel like we could’ve gotten a show with a lot more nuance and depth and less jokes about SA if it was written by someone other than Vivziepop, because let’s be honest… the best parts of Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss are fanmade or written by other people

For example, the song Addict is honestly one of the most iconic and popular songs related to Hazbin Hotel, but it’s a fan song.

The Helluva Boss Pilot was better than Hazbin Hotel’s Pilot (subjective) because it was actually written by someone else.

You can still like HH and HB just fine, I don’t care, but people keep defending Vivziepop like she’s this saint who has done no wrong, and attacking anyone who says anything critical abut her.

Anyways, Hazbin is okay. It’s kinda average, but it’s still enjoyable that I wanna keep watching. I love Sir Pentious, hate how he was treated in Episode 6, and hey, if I get sent death threats or smth I might as well say all my opinions right now so you all can get them out.

The writers don’t know how to write women like Vaggie or Cherri Bomb

Alastor is overrated and overhyped. He could use more personality, and more screentime doing ominous and tricky things, instead of just “shows up, says threatening line, refuses to elaborate, leaves”

People in heaven acting just as bad as people in Hell (like Adam) is not a good or unique take. Good Omens has done it, and they’ve also done it better. I did like that Adam leading the exterminations was something that not everyone knew about, but I don’t think Sera should’ve known about it either. Idk exactly, but I would’ve gone about it in a different way.

Bringing back the writing women thing, I also think Charlie’s writing can be handled a little poorly from time to time. The only thing keeping her afloat for me is that she is to Rapunzel what Hellsa is to Elsa.

I hate Mimzy’s design. I don’t know why.

Actually kinda liked Lucifer just being a weird dad, but he’s should have a better redemption arc before all that.

Not Hazbin Hotel specific, but why are shows so afraid of having more than 15 episodes in a season now? I know they want to cut out filler because they no longer need to run for a certain amount of time, but honestly? Hazbin Hotel needs more episodes. It needs more time to flesh out its story, and this honestly applies to a lot of other shows whose stories could’ve been great if not for streaming.

Stephanie Beatriz is a great actress so use her better. She did amazing as Rosa Diaz from Brooklyn Nine-Nine, and Vaggie is… (no offense) just another of the badass Latina stereotype. Also, she is an amazing singer, but the super high octave in her and Carmine’s song did not do her voice any justice. It does not need to be that high, you can bring it down an octave or two.

I probably will have more complaints as more episodes come out. We’ll see. I still enjoy watching the show, don’t get me wrong, but it’s not perfect. Receiving criticism doesn’t mean it’s a terrible show, just that it has room for improvement.

In the continued spirit of Thanksgiving, Prime Video is showing its appreciation to Hazbin Hotel fans by revealing the premiere date for Season One of the highly anticipated adult animated musical comedy.

Episodes will be available to stream exclusively on Prime Video beginning January 19, 2024, in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.

Guest stars include Broadway veterans Darren Criss (Saint Peter), Jeremy Jordan (Lucifer Morningstar), Daphne Rubin-Vega (Carmilla Carmine), Patina Miller (Sera), and Jessica Vosk (Lute). Favs:

Angel dust - his character growth heals my soul. Best thing that happened to me since i found 10 bucks on a street when i was ten.

Sir Pentious - i would die for him, i would kill for him. Either way, what a bliss. I love him i love him i love him i-

Love:

Cherry bomb - she’s an icon, she’s a legend and she is the moment. -1 for wanting angeldust to loose his streak, +1 for respecting his choices.

Husk - half of the time i was sure his name was Hastur (for obvious reasons). He was kind of annoying but turned into one of the brightest green flags in Angel’s life. His voice made me shiver in embarassing ways.

Lucifer - apart from giving Charlie daddy issues, he was perfect. I would buy rubberducks from him.

Nifty - made adam shut up for good, was cute and chaotic evil. I love her.

Velvet - YA GAT IT TWISTED. IM NOT THE ONE WHO NEEDS MEW AATTITUDEEEEE

Like:

Alastor - just expected more from him. Tbh, its almost a love. 50/50. I have set a high bar for him after pilot and i do not intend to lower it down.

Vaggi - i call her veggi all the time. She had some plot twists, but overall she was fine. Her singing voice was not good, expected more from stephanie beatriz after encanto and all of that.

Valentino - he is abusive and i have daddy issues so don’t judge me to hard. Fuck him tho.

Neutral:

Ahh a category for those who did not enough to hate them and not enough to like them. Or made everything to love them and hate them simultaneously.

Adam - jackass, dumbass, mean bitch. I love him.

Carmilla - i don’t like her design, her singing voice was fine. Kinda annoying. I like that she was defending her daughters so much. OUT FOR LOUOUOUOOVE

Charlie - i wish she had bigger character growth. She was kinda annoying and kinda likable. She was fine. I think i like her. 50/50.

Emily - basically charlie 2.0. A little lazy design and writing. I like that she joined charlie on the iconic IF HELL IS FOREVER THEN HEAVEN MUST BE A LIE (would love to see her actually fall - in the best way possible) but as an angel it doesnt really make much sense for her to doubt institution heaven as much as charlie does. She is not a kid anymore, and she still kinda acts like one.

Tv girl - idk what to sat, shes got the spirit, but i dont know what for.

Lute - same as adam.

Mimzy - she was likable and selfish. Shes okay.

*drumroll* Dislike:

Vox - a pretty big disappointment. Expected more from him. He was okay, kinda bringing Vees together, but also he didn’t really add more to them. Disappointing:(

Zestial - disappointed, again. It seemed that everybody fears him, but the writers didn’t really give us as a viewer a reason why to. He was just sort of there, to move the plot ahead and let other characters do the talking and have impact on the story. Had really high hopes for him:(

My thoughts on the new voices.

Charlie: fan-fucking-tastic. I don’t know if it’s just me but I also think her voice is now slightly…more mature somehow? Like Jill Harris did a great job as Charlie! But her Charlie sounded slightly younger, more…naive I suppose?

Vaggie: STEPHANIE BEATRIZ MOTHERFUCKERS!!! I thought she did a great job in Encanto, she’ll be just as good in Hazbin. I can’t wait to hear her sing. If I didn’t know any better I would think Monica was still Vaggie, the voices are so similar. Perfect recast imo

Angel Dust: One of the two ‘controversial’ voices I suppose. I listened to a few Blake Roman songs and…guys I’m gonna keep it real with you he is soooooo good like holy shit he’s PERFECT. Michael’s AD is iconic don’t get me wrong, and I love Addict, but he isn’t a professional singer like Blake. Please don’t kill me.

Alastor: Another controversial one. As sad as I am to see Ed not be Alastor anymore, I saw Amir’s version of Never Fully Dressed Without a Smile and it’s perfect. He’s gonna be fucking great guys. At least Ed is Striker in HB.

Husk: KEITH MOTHERFUCKING DAVID HOLY SHIT!! Out of all the casting choices it’s this one I’m most surprised by. Can’t wait to hear him!

Niffty: I had no idea who Kimiko Glenn was (I don’t watch a lot of tv lmao) but from what I’ve heard of her singing she sounds great!

Vox: I looked up Christian Borle and man, I have a feeling Vox is gonna be kinda a goofball, maybe I’m biased cuz I heard Borle’s Willy Wonka but I think it kinda fits Vox. Angry Vox is gonna be funny I know it.

Valentino: I always imagined Val with a deep voice, but from what I managed to listen to (just my luck the few vids of him singing were poor quality or the instrumentals were too loud) I think Joel Perez works, I think it’ll be easier for me to judge once the actual show comes out.

hazbin hotel has so many icons. Zox is played by Christian borle (I only know him from falsettos but he did Incredibly well in his role). Lucifer- my personal favourite- is played by Jeremy Jordan (played Varian in tangled the series. Haven't watched it but his voice is incredible. He was also the man who saved the greatest showman). Charlie's played by the person who played Cady in mean girls the musical (I don't know her name but I love the musical sm). Vaggie is played by Stephanie Beatriz (played so many icons need I say more). Husk is played by Keith David (don't know him to well but I've heard he's a legend) and I couldn't forget Alex brightman (played beetlejuice, adam, sir pentious and fizzarolli from helluva boss)
