Happy Halloween season! Here's another stab at my own take of Carrie White, based on her book description. I'm super happy with how these turned out! I'd love to tackle some of the other characters in the book eventually, especially Margaret!
EDIT:
Now available as an art print here!

Imagine thinking one of the world’s most famous authors needs to pay $8 a month for a blue check because he needs clout.

“It’s not right to psychoanalyse an author’s morals by what they write” is obviously a good and valid stance but have you ever read a book by a male author who makes his thoughts on women so unpleasantly clear the moment a female character comes on page

richie literally has chemistry with ALL of the og losers plus mike in the book. why dont they show any of that in the movie. like i get hes 'flirty' in the movie but.. in the book he held hands with mike, kept bringing up bill not stuttering all the time (a whole page was dedicated to showing how mesmerized he was about it? and he brought it up 10 pages later.), he heard a bird noise and thought "hey stan would know what kind of bird that is :)". LIKE HELLO WE GOT NONE OF THAT IN THE MOVIE. you people are sick and twisted. we got reddie in the movies and i thank god for that but really??? you are gonna deprive me of this? wow.

could frodo from lord of the rings survive castle dracula🤔
Stephen King I know this is you
This one just makes me sad. Hasn't he suffered enough? It's also surprisingly difficult for me to get a read on it, despite me knowing the character very very well. He's just a little guy...
Frodo is not going to refuse anyone's gifts, and being unexpectedly protected by forgotten gifts is something he's very good at. He also doesn't shave so that's a thing. He does get very very subjected to the Horrors, and all hobbits are remarkably good at enduring hardship, even if they complain about it. Frodo is on the less complainy side of the spectrum, but the more hardship side of the spectrum.
He is plucky and courageous in a pinch. He would go exploring, with probably comparable results, although he may not be able to get into the blocked door. Would the Girlies want him? Well he's not that young but he is extremely baby sized. I think they'd be disappointed because they'd be expecting Delicious Baby and instead get Middle Aged Guy Going Through It. He knows he's not going to be able to oppose Dracula physically or mentally, so he won't get himself killed trying. He already has queer dreams. He already doesn't need shoes.
I think he would have a harder time psychologically in the Castle - Tolkien characters really don't like not being able to see the sun or feel grass between their toes - but an easier time with the Jon-a-Thon if that makes sense? But again he handled the Barrow-Wights (up to a point) and that's a really comparable situation. He keeps his head under extreme pressure, even if he loses his mind a bit. And he does just keep putting one foot in front of the other while all his other faculties fail him.
Based on the escape from the Emyn Muil I am confident Frodo could make it down the wall. He'd probably be happier if he had Sam's rope but again he's used to using his toes for things. He's got the right amount of courage to be making the daring attempts he needs to and the right amount of cowardice to not be eaten by wolves.
I'm ignoring the Ring because I don't think it helps him in this situation (see: Griffin Invisibleman). If anything it just adds to the psychological burden and he's better off without it.
In the final analysis I think Frodo Baggins can survive Castle Dracula, but he'll never be okay again.
Damn you Stephen King, you can't keep getting away with this.
ah NB this analysis is done with respect to Frodo as he appears in the the books. Movie!Frodo is 20 years younger and much more passive a character. I don't know if Movie!Frodo would think to go out the window unprompted, for instance, but I really don't know.

getting in a car with eddie kaspbrak would suck ass unless you're the same kind of unwell as he is and i stand by this. bro 100% knows the risks of pissing off other people on the road and he does not care, he will die just to make sure that guy in the tesla knows he's a piece of shit who is going to hell. i believe this.
he's also the kind of guy who gets super bitchy if the person in front of him is going the limit. he probably swears a lot when he's driving. it's probably a nightmare. he'd see whoever is riding shotgun grab the handle or ceiling or whatever and he'd start swearing at them too for being a bitch and "i do this shit for a living dickwad i know how to fucking drive calm the fuck down"
like you would think he would be a really careful and polite and rational driver because of his job but that actually makes it worse because he has so much built up road rage from when he's on the clock. like if someone cuts him off he's not just cursing out that one person, he's also taking out the pent up anger from every other person who cut him off while he was working.

“Just go on dancing with me like this forever and I'll never tire. We'll scrape our shoes on the stars and hang upside down from the moon.” -The Long Walk, Peter McVries
Had to draw my favourite characters from one of my favourite books, The Long Walk by Stephen King. A really heartbreaking story.

⚠️ psychological horror, mental scars, shitty metaphors, slight gore, and references to "sl-cing skin." Read tags for context
None of y'all can ever claim to know horror and terror until you experience watching a completely wholesome g-rated knockoff bargain bin kid's movie and hearing IT. That slicing voice honed on a stone of utter fear.
Cutting and chopping through spices to perfectly stab at the mind until it's mush, and leave the flayed nerves burning.
Agony is the only thing you can feel everytime you see that character, because you know you'll be caught in the white of its eyes and never know the reason why. the voice, perhaps even the face was shrapnel caught in your rib, and everytime you turn you turn your torso it rips your lung again, and you grew around it. But there it is again, that familiar carousel of up and down, radiating cutting. your hands aren't their own. This is unfamiliar, foreign. This is a child's vision. This apparition was haunted you since childhood and after years, years into your life, traveling, forgetting, living, and loving, it's come to take another victim. IT. IT is hungry and unwavering. It was beyond anything we could've dreamed of, no. IT, was a nightmare and to it, there's nothing more it'd love to feast on than long grown over, but never quite removed needles under the skin.
But this, this MAN. He was nothing to do with that. This is a man making money, making a living. This is a man with no intention to thrill, to rip at the scalp until fused bone is exposed. This man shakes hands with smiling gentlemen in fancy suits and kisses babies. This is the man in a different costume. And in another costume, perhaps the glass may fall out of your ribs.

Some fanart of Book Carrie.
As much as I love all three film adaptations in different ways, I still mourn for a closer adaptation to the novel (Points to 2002 though for trying and 2013 until studio interference)
