Now I have to do the reverse of the sterek version of this story.
Claudia died on the first day of school. The next week, Stiles had to go to school. The teachers all knew and they'd told the students. People would whisper behind his back or pity him. He didn't want pity. He didn't want people talking about him. He wanted the world to disappear. Then he met Derek, a kinda-cocky member of the basketball team who would sit with him in the library--never showing him pity, just enjoying his presence.
They started dating and ended up getting married after graduation. But with every milestone that passed, Stiles would think about his mum. He wished she was there to see him graduate, he wishes his mum could have met Derek.
At their wedding, they light a candle for Claudia.
On their honeymoon, Stiles gets a call from Scott. He sounds super excited. While helping his mum clear out some old stuff, he found a photo of them from when they were little. They used to play on a soccer team. And Scott says one of the kids inthe photo looks just like Derek when he was younger. Scott sends him the photo and Holy shit! It's Derek!
Stiles shows Derek the photo and Derek smiles and says, "Yeah, I was the goalie."
Later, when Stiles is on the phone to his dad, he asks him if he remembers the soccer team he and Scott were part of when they were younger.
"I remember the goalie," Sheriff Stilinski says. "The kid would sit down in the net and play in the dirt. Your mum thought he was hilarious."

“Where is he?” Stiles rumbled, glancing at each member of the pack in front of him, before settling his incinerating gaze on one person he once considered a brother. “Tell me, Scott, where is my husband?”
Stiles knew the moment it happened that something was terribly wrong. It was the middle of the night when he was woken up by a scorching hot fire, running up his entire body. It took him a full minute of panicked breathing to realize it wasn’t a nightmare, but the pain of his mate he felt through their bond. It stopped rather abruptly, but that did little to calm him.
He didn’t feel Derek. On the other end of the bond, blessedly still existing, there was no usual warmth and steady presence. There was nothing but agonizing emptiness.
Stiles knew, he felt that it was wrong to let Derek pick up their son from Beacon Hills alone. Eli whined all week that he missed his grandpa and Derek, who couldn’t for his life say ‘no’ to their son, volunteered to drive him over for a mini-vacation.
Stiles should have listened to his gut, tell his boss to fuck off and go with them.
It took one wave of a shaking hand to open the portal. He didn’t care about the magic exhaustion. He wanted his husband.
To say that BH residents were shocked to see the empty space in front of them tearing apart in a strobe of lightning…
“I couldn’t do anything,” Scott shook his head, looking up at him remorsefully. Stiles learnt long ago not to believe him.
“Papa!”
Eli.
Stiles raced to his son, who was sitting on the cold ground, reaching with both of his hands towards him. His entire face was red and wet from tears, though his eyes shined beautiful gold.
“Oh, pup,” he murmured, taking Eli into his arms. The boy put his forehead on his shoulder and sniffed silent tears. It was obvious he was in too much of a shock to tell anything — Eli clutched at his father’s back, digging into the skin with the claws, but Stiles paid them no mind.
As Stiles shushed his pup, scratching the back of his head, he looked up at Scott with murder in his eyes.
“Where is he?”
“Nogitsune,” Stiles’ father rasped. He looked almost as awful as his grandson.
“He sacrificed himself,” Scott interrupted him, clenching his jaw. “For the greater good. For the pa—“
Stiles shut him up with a growl he learnt from his husband.
“We have our own pack!”
“He helped kill the nogitsune,” Scott insisted, stepping closer, but then immediately flinching backwards at Stiles’ glare. “He died as a hero.”
Eli’s anxious and terrified breathing grew heavier.
“Shh,” Stiles muttered in his messy hair. “He didn’t die, pup, it’s alright.”
He didn’t know what the fuck happened that brought the fucking thing back, but apparently it had something to do with Derek’s disappearance.
Oh, he would never allow them to take another step in this forsaken place anymore.
“Nogitsune can’t be killed,” he grit out, taking Eli’s hands from him and standing up. “Dad, look after him. Take him to your house, make a mountain ash circle — he’s not in control yet.”
“Stiles…”
“Our bond is alive,” Stiles shouted, making everyone shut up again. “I don’t see a body, and I bet you didn’t scream, either,” he thrust an accusatory finger at the banshee, who just looked away in shame. “If I’m not back in an hour, call Kira.”
---
“Papa?”
“Yes, pup?”
Eli stomped in one place near the bedroom door, glancing nervously at Stiles. He was afraid to look at his dad’s scarred face.
“Is he gonna live?”
Stiles looked up from his husband’s burnt red skin on his torso, but didn’t stop moving his glowing golden-white hands in an intricate pattern of healing magic. Derek already looked better than fifteen minutes ago. By the morning, Derek wouldn’t feel an ounce of pain and all his scars will be gone.
“Of course,” he smiled tiredly. “You know dad’s a tough cookie.”
Eli shuffled towards the bed and fell on his knees in front of it, putting his chin on the bed. He leaned on his side, putting half of his weight on Stiles’ legs. His big eyes didn’t leave his dad’s still body.
Stiles wanted to hug his little boy so much, but it will have to wait. For now he just nudged Eli with his toes, making him look up at him.
“I’m proud of you, Eli,” he said quietly. Eli squeezed his eyes shut and put his temple against Stiles’ knee, breathing harshly. “You shifted. That’s amazing.”
“Lot of good it did,” Eli muttered. “If I was faster…”
“Nuh-uh, the guilt wagon is stopping right now,” Stiles shook his head. “Dad wouldn’t have risked taking you with him back to that inside-out place. None of this is your fault, kiddo.”
Eli sniffed.
Suddenly, Derek grunted something under his breath. All attention instantly zeroed on the wolf, both his mate and his son waiting with bated breath for another sign of consciousness. One of Derek’s hands, lying closest to the edge, moved bit by bit, until it reached Stiles’ knee.
Eli sniffed once again, then carefully took his dad’s hand, mindful of still healing burns, and put it on Stiles’ knee, then laid his head on top. Clever pup, letting his Alpha know his pack was here.
“Eli,” Derek breathed out, his eyelids fluttering.
“Shh,” Stiles shushed immediately, lightly caressing his cheek with his glowing hand. “He’s alright.”
“Stiles.”
“I’m here, love. You’re safe.”
Derek relaxed once again, falling into much needed sleep.
“See,” Stiles said with a relieved smile, looking down at Eli, who finally had some hope in his puppy eyes and a wobbly smile on his lips. “Everything’s gonna be alright.”

Okay but have you considered Stiles’ dad getting shot earlyish in canon, he needs pretty extensive surgery, they don’t know if he’s going to live and Stiles is sitting there alone, shaking apart in the waiting room.
Derek sits down next to him without a word, listens in to the surgery, and calmly tells Stiles exactly what’s going on. He tells Stiles exactly what the doctors are saying to eachother, even when it’s looking bad, stops Stiles from pulling his hair out and stays with him for hours through the whole thing. During a pause, Stiles asks why he’s doing this, and Derek tells him I know what it’s like, not being sure if you’ll have any family left. And that’s the moment Stiles starts to see Derek for who he really is.
(Derek gets to tell him that his dad is going to be okay, lets Stiles collapse into him with relief, feels Stiles’ thank you thank you thank you against the skin of his neck. Derek says it’s the doctors you should be thanking, and Stiles is quiet for a moment before he whispers yeah, but thank you for not making me do this alone.)

I liked one YouTube short on figure skating and now my entire feed is full of it.
It makes me crave some Sterek fanfic where one or both of them are figure skaters.
Imagine—
Stiles and Derek are the only ones left in the figure skating class and had to pair up. It was chaotic at first, with Stiles being clumsier than a baby deer and Derek being both annoyed and amazed at him (because no matter what, Stiles never gave up). He decides to lend a hand and as time passes, they turn to be the best pair in the entire class. If they go on to win some championships, then that’s just a proof of their compatibility and commitment.

Tell me something straight about Derek Hale. His cock doesn't count, it's curve a little to the left.
(Stiles can confirm that)

This is one if not my favourite gif to hang naughty thoughts on. "You two ready to give them a mindblowing time?" (In which Stiles might not have been fully told it was a three person gig and not a two person one. :p)
HmmmMmMmMm....
I think I'm on board with where you're goin' in this scenario, but... I think I'd prefer Hoechlin's Derek... just sayin' ;)

the most epic dream ever
Okay, so I kinda got this dream and woke up early because of it, I also did not want to go back to sleep for 30 more minutes and risked losing this dream (I also had class, so win-win)
Teen Wolf apocalyptic aftermath type of dream
something big happened, like Skynet or apocalypse of some specific sort or even just humans making the world go on a different route of ruling
the supernatural and the humans suffered equally
literally, nature reclaimed a lot of earth, water/river/etc that towers over buildings with ancient extinct animals from land and sea patrolling forevermore (this is due to Atsu (yes, asianguystreamer but let’s pretend he’s just another character) being someone who is in tune with nature and has been keeping the “extinct” animals to keep his own territory safe but alas, tragedy struck anyway...)
Derek and Isaac survived, but at what cost?
There was an epic (and gruesome) montage of Atsu’s animals raging at the other animals that betrayed him (killing the animals that didn’t do something to protect his territory and what-have-you), no matter what, the end result was gory and brutal and Atsu took his territory’s remaining people into isolation due to the huge loss he suffered
Stiles is alive, alongside Sheriff and Melissa, Noshiko and her family (with scars), Lydia and some random NPC
Stiles rehab Derek while Isaac gets Melissa and Sheriff
Stiles, as usual, proposes to go back in time, to change something a bit and get some people back, trying to minimize the damage of the Catastrophe, so to speak
Derek, haunted and sadder than ever, thought it was a good idea but Stiles has to set up a meeting with the remaining people in the supernatural and get all the help he needs to make it work
People were gathered, reluctantly or otherwise, plans were gone through and discarded, shouting matches were had, those who had died did so a while back but a few more months to discuss how to bring them back won’t hurt anybody
The plan was finally made and a few people were given the responsibility of going back in time
Some rules were set: people who were absolutely crucial to changing the tide of the Catastrophe were left alone, so a few people could be saved like some civilians and such
My vision ended with Stiles’ protégé making a prank with magic where people can’t read anything? and something ominous was happening/gonna happen, Derek and Stiles had to make an announcement on something might be happening, stay close together, and also a reprimand to the protégé for ever making this prank in the first place; Stiles goes to the lower parts of their territory to warn the “ground army”, Noshiko and her family was one of them, Lydia was also there, shocker of all, the android following around seems to be awakening
Extras of the aftermath they live in:
Scott either gets saved or didn’t get saved, I’m not sure as it was also pretty unclear who got saved
Derek forever has a phobia of staying on the ground, him and Isaac were pretty much getting front row seat in the “extinct animal execution” that happened
Stiles, as perceptive as he always has been, is determined to build a skyscraper territory for Derek with the most advanced security technology and what-have-you (it was a pretty awesome place in my dream tbh)
A few people who joined Derek and Stiles became generals in army/security/etc, the Catastrophe left many people scarred and petrified what would happen again
Stiles finds several protégé for his Spark heritage? something
So, I said Skynet, the human looking android something started to follow people after those people … expresses some opinions or whatever, nobody knows where they come from except when they start to follow someone, you keep a close eye on the android and the person they’re following. As of right now, there’s 2 or 3 people being followed and Lydia Martin is one of them
Derek thought he would never be happy again but Stiles tries his best to heal the battered spirit he still has and Derek is more determined than ever to protect the pack that he has, filled with the most mismatched of people, some didn’t even know the supernatural existed until the Catastrophe happened
Derek might rule his territory with an iron will, Stiles was the representation of his battered heart, late night conversations in the darkness on how to better their territory and such
Also, Derek and Stiles’ territory might be skyscraper-ish, it’s still somewhat entwined with the jungle (there’s a waterfall) and any “technological advancement” is actually just magic

This post appeared again on my dash and it makes me smile every time, but this time I can't get the idea of a sterek version out of my head.
Imagine the Hale fire happened a week before school started and Derek didn't deal with it well. People would whisper behind his back or pity him and he hated it. Then he met Stiles, a chaotic ball of energy that barrelled into his life, treated him like anyone else, went on long rambling tangents, and made Derek smile.
They started dating and ended up getting married after graduation. But with every milestone that passed, Derek would think about his family. He wished his mum was in the crowd the day he graduated, he wishes his family could have met Stiles, wishes they could have gotten to know him, that they could have seen how he makes Derek smile.
At their wedding, they lay a flower on each of the seats that Derek's family would have filled.
On their honeymoon, Derek gets a call from Cora. She and Laura had been clearing out old boxes of stuff and she found a photo of the soccer team she and Derek played on when they were younger, and one of the kids in the photo looks just like Stiles.
Derek shows Stiles the photo and Stiles says, "Yeah, I was the goalie."
Later, when Derek is on the phone to Laura, he tells her about the photo and how he and Cora were on the same team as Stiles.
"I remember those games," Laura reminisces. "Mum and I used to watch the goalie - sweet kid. He would sit down in the goal and play in the dirt. Mum thought he was hilarious. She loved that kid."
Derek smiles as he looks at his husband and thinks, Yeah, I love him too.

Imagine stiles living next to Derek and he only ever catches glimpses of him through the window and Derek never leaves his house and has his groceries delivered and stiles always sees him doing random stuff in his home. Practicing magic, karaoke, learning dance moves, burning his dinner, re-enacting movie scenes and stiles completely thinks Derek is just a shut in who doesn’t leave the house so he goes over to introduce himself and that’s when stiles finds out Derek isn’t a shut in (well he is a homebody) but he’s actually just on house arrest. But don’t worry cause he was framed and he’s getting the whole thing thrown out of court soon anyways.
I can just imagine Stiles, the son of the Shreiff, climbing out his window, over the fence and in through Derek’s window to visit. And then when he goes home, he does everything he can to prove Derek’s innocent.

Summary:
Breathless, Stiles shifted his gaze up and went red from the knowing smirk on the deific face. The man’s red eyes sparkled in the moonlight, glowing like two fires on the tips of the candles. One of his thick eyebrows was lifted in amusement.
He was the most beautiful being Stiles had ever seen. As was probably expected, considering he was the god of sexual desire.

Derek follows the scent, gets an uneasiness he can’t shake. He tracks it down until he realizes that it’s not some innocuous bonfire—it’s Stiles’ house.
He can’t hear anything over the roar of the flames, can’t hear if anyone’s in the house. So he centers himself as much as he can with his heart beating out of his chest, and tries to find the sound of Stiles’ voice, the Sheriff, a distant sound of sirens. What he finds is the rumble of Stiles’ jeep, and relief crashes over him so strongly he’s nearly brought to his knees. It’s not certain, though, so he fumbles his phone out of his pocket and finds Stiles’ number.
“Is there anyone in your house?” Derek asks, as soon as the line connects.
“What? Why?”
“Is there anyone in your house.” Derek asks again, demanding.
“Uh—My dad was home when I left. Why? Derek, what’s happening?”
Derek’s stomach drops, his entire body going tense.
“Call the fire department.”
“Wha—”
“Call the fire department.”
Derek hangs up. There’s so much adrenaline running through him that he feels detached, watching distantly as a part of the house collapses in on itself in a plume of dark smoke. He doesn’t move for long seconds, inhaling deeply even as he feels ash scraping his lungs.
He’s violently jolted back into himself when he breathes in again and…and he knows that—that’s the smell of burning flesh. That’s the smell of Stiles’ only family burning alive and the rumble of Stiles’ jeep getting closer and he can’t—he can’t let—
Derek’s eyes are open, but he’s not seeing. Everything narrows down to that single scent as he takes a step forward, another step—not Stiles, not him too.
He might hear Stiles’ voice as he steps over the threshold, distracted as he remembers that there’s no mountain ash here, nothing that will keep him out, nothing that will keep them trapped inside. It falls away at the sight of the Sheriff, only feet away from the door, grunting with effort as he tries to push a burning chunk of roof off himself with black and blistered hands.
Derek’s shoving it away, pulling him up, half-carrying the man out the door, completely unaware of the deep groves of ash already healing in his palms. Stiles is running towards him—crying, terrified—but he hears the Sheriff’s steady, calming tone through choking coughs as they collapse against each other a safe distance from the flames.
Derek can’t stay—he can’t be near it anymore, but he can’t leave, wherever he goes he knows he’ll still be tasting ash, that smell—
He runs away. He runs home, home that’s not home anymore, home painted with soot and pain and guilt and alone, what he deserves.
He spends the night there by himself. But what he doesn’t know is that he won’t have to be alone much longer.
