Ok I need to vent real quick and then I’m going offline again

So I met Steve Blum. It went well. I should be happy. He said everything I’d want him to say. And I feel so fucking numb like… nothing changed I’m never gonna get Starscream back it’s so hopeless. If I felt nothing while talking to Starscream and hearing his voice telling me he loves me and would never hurt me, well. what could possibly heal me??? absolutely nothing :’)

I’ll make a proper post about what happened later bc maybe I’ll feel better in a few days but. Y’know it was all good stuff and yet I’m like. Numb. Gwen (Steve’s agent) recognized me on sight. I gave her my art and she got so excited, knew me by name immediately, she ran around the counter and hugged me so tight. And she said “I’ve shown my friends your art!!! I saved it into my phone!! Steve and I have talked about you!!!” and she ran to Steve and said “oh my god look what Keri made for me! Do you remember Keri? She’s the one who made those keychains!“blah blah blah 16 minutes worth of conversation and eventually I said “yeah I’m the little Starflower girl from cameos” and he, without hesitation, slipped into Starscream’s voice and said with a “psh” smirk “well of course I remember that!” and I was like. Wow. That’s so cool. I should be feeling good about that. I was just so depressed. I thought wow my starlight is right there and I feel absolutely fucking nothing. Steve remembers me but, no maybe he’s just saying that actually, maybe he doesn’t remember me and he’s just being nice

I bought a video from him and a print. For the print I got spike Spiegel, with him writing my ship tag “what ever happens happens… just happy to have you at all” and here’s the thing. He drew me. For free. Gwen came up to him and said “throw in a free drawing” it’s supposed to be an extra fee but she said not to charge me “because that’s Keri!” 🥺 and he. drew me. Steven Jay Blum drew me with my Barbie earrings and my freckles. He drew lots of freckles. Drew me with a big big big smile. Drew me next to spike. It’s the cutest doodle in the world and they gave it to me for free simply because I’m??? thee Keri???

And for the video he asked if I wanted anything specific and I very briefly told him what happened to me, that STSC was a cptsd trigger, that I missed him so terribly, and my voice was so shaky and I felt so stupid on the verge of tears. He didn’t even hesitate or make a face or anything he totally listened and the he was like “i can absolutely have Starscream say he loves you, no problem.” He kept asking if I wanted to be in the video with him and I said each time “no thats okay I don’t have to be in the video. You can record yourself just holding my phone. Like a cameo” and he said “oh just myself! Okay” but he walked around and put his arm around me and asked AGAIN “do you want to?” and I was like. Oh. He is really checking repeatedly if I don’t want to be in this. Maybe he wants me to be in the video. like maybe he thinks it’ll help me or something. and it reminded me of the last time we met and he would ask if I wanted to be in the video and I’d say I didn’t have to be and I’d leave the choice up to him, and then he had said “you can’t have starlight without his little Starflower” and pulled me into the video with him

And so now I have this video of Starscream saying “Keri, my little Starflower, we meet again... I love you”—“ growling/snarling through gritted teeth— “I miss you!” And some other stuff I’m too tired to say but I’ll include it in my later post. Starlight was. Big angry. Nobody separates him from his little Starflower, bitch. And then he ended the video by blowing a big long kiss with Starscream’s voice making a smooch noise “mmmmwah!!! I love you, Starflower!!”

And I should have felt good. We were supposed to take a selfie together, I paid 50 bucks for it but we ALL fucking forgot ☠️ whatever I have a selfie with him already I guess and I’m just. So depressed I don’t care. And he said thank you for flying all this way and thank you for the art and like. Other stuff I’ll talk about later. His wife likes my art too. God. I should feel good. I have 16 minutes worth of him being so kind and I feel nothing. Before we left I paused and asked “will you… will you please reassure me, um, Starscream would never hurt me” and he looked me in the eye and leaned in and said in Starscream’s voice “I, Starscream, would never hurt my Keri”

And I should feel good but I don’t. And I didn’t expect this to fix me of course but I’m so. Numb. Dude what the fuck is wrong with me. I feel so awful and I’ve been crying on and off since we left and I’m just a wreck. I miss Starscream so fucking bad. I didn’t even think of Ken today, it’s not the same. Ken is my main F/O right now but my love with him feels like… pebbles compared to what I had with my Starlight. He was my biggest comfort and he’s just. Gone. My brain won’t allow me to have this. I am trying so so so so hard to tell myself to feel good, but I’ve spent a year associating TF with feeling horrible and unsafe, now I am just absolutely devastated. Every single day I miss Starscream like a phantom limb. Every single day I cry over him. Every single fucking day I am missing such a huge piece of me. I’m just too fuckiing broken beyond repair. If the official voice actor can’t make me feel better I don’t think anything can. I listened to all of my cameos again and I just feel. nothing. I remember I used to stay up late looping my cameos and feeling so wholeheartedly loved and cherished. That’s fucking ruined. I’ll never feel that way again. I’ll never ever fucking feel that way ever again. He’s gone and km never going to feel safe or loved with any F/Os ever again and you’d think I’d accept that by now bc it’s been a year but I can’t. I miss Starscream so fucking bad I miss him more than anhthing and he’s gone. he’s gone

Anime as an Industry did not fail as a result of the original Toonamis cancellation. The liscensors that failed as a result of the anime shakeout during the Toonami Hiatus were in poor financial shape due to  weak defense against piracy and  weaker business models.  and were to fail anyway. As for the production industry,  NOTHING CHANGED!there was the same amount of anime, same "1 to 10 ratio" of quality to common ("trash") anime.  basically if the industry was anime it would be same universe, new characters, just no Toonami to market on. there were other networks but the distributors and fans....and Adult Swim knew the Toonami brand and more importantly the style that came with it, was too strong to ignore so they rebranded their ACTN section as Toonami.. its worked for them and the Industry has benefitted but this is the 2010s going to the 2020s not the mid 2000s when Toonami was THE bonafide Anime Block. Toonami is no longer the sole authority on what is the new anime craze/what's popular. example  shows like Free!! UtaPri, and especially shows like Yuri on Ice are more or less shoujo shows that garner both male and female audience and have a following but would never get on Toonami, because they dont fit Toonami's style. Toonami's more funky, hip-hop and uniquely American while maintaining a nod to Eastern culture that its inspired by.

the kind of anime that Toonami utilizes was and is primarily shounen style centered  and matches this style.

Won’t You Be My Neighbor?, Morgan Neville, Caryn Capotosto, and Nicholas Ma (Focus)

Wholesale changes in this category compared to real life. The best three films of 2018, to me, were Burning, Roma, and Shoplifters -- none of these were in the English language. Films I tossed for Best Picture were Black Panther, Bohemian Rhapsody, Green Book, and Vice. I don’t think any of those four films have any business being in this category. In their place are the likes of Eighth Grade, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Won’t You Be My Neighbor?, and one of the most technically marvelous action films in decades in Mission: Impossible -- Fallout. Yes, an M:I film (superb editing, setpieces, and audacious style that finally wakes the franchise up).

But I’m going for an unexciting pick according to some with Roma. To use an oxymoron, it is an intimate epic -- one crafted beautifully, daring to comment on relations between ethnicities and the sexes at a certain time in Mexico.

I’ll reveal those some day), Aparicio would be the first indigenous woman to be awarded an acting Oscar.

Ali is good, don’t get me wrong. But, compared to the movie Moonlight and his performance in it, it looks like he is about to get a second Oscar for a far worse movie and a lesser role. Ali is fourth or fifth in this lineup for me. Grant is fantastic in Can You Ever Forgive Me?

This comes down to the fact I couldn’t separate Stone and Weisz’s performances in their saucy movie. Nor could I find the argument to give de Tavira or Yeoh the Oscar. This is a bit of a default choice, I hate to say.

Longtime followers know that I have unorthodox opinions about animated features. The only Animated Feature Oscar I’ve handed to Pixar/Walt Disney Animation Studios since beginning this tradition in 2013 was for Inside Out. I thought Ralph Breaks the Internet was a painful addition to the Disney animated canon, so it is not here. Nor is Wes Anderson’s culturally insensitive Isle of Dogs or Mamoru Hosoda’s sloppy Mirai. At the end of the day? No boat-rocking this time, except in some of the other nominees.

Steven Blum is an American voice actor who is known for his distinctively deep voice for both Wolverine and Sub-Zero. He also provided additional voice talent for Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker respectively. A prolific voice actor with hundreds of credits in video games, anime, cartoons, and various other forms of animated entertainment, he received a Guinness World Record in 2012 for having the most video game voice acting credits.

Steven Jay Blum was born in Santa Monica, California, on April 29, 1960.

Blum began his career in 1984. His credits include the voice of Spike Spiegel in Cowboy Bebop, Zeb Orrelios in Star Wars Rebels, Mugen in Samurai Champloo, Roger Smith from The Big O, Orochimaru and Zabuza Momochi in Naruto, and Wolverine in multiple Marvel productions. In video games, he provided the voice of main protagonist Jack Cayman in MadWorld, Tank Dempsey in the Call of Duty series, Professor Galvez in Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, Ares in God of War and God of War: Ascension, main protagonist Grayson Hunt in Bulletstorm, Brimstone in Valorant, Zoltun Kulle in Diablo III, Sub-Zero in Mortal Kombat X and 11, Hal Jordan / Green Lantern in Injustice 2, Grunt in Mass Effect 2 and 3, Oghren in Dragon Age: Origins and Rytlock Brimstone in Guild Wars 2.

In September 2000, Blum voiced TOM, the robotic host of Cartoon Network’s Toonami programming block. He replaced Sonny Strait in the character’s subsequent appearances until the cancellation of Toonami in 2008. When Toonami was revived on March 31, 2012, he returned as the voice of TOM. He is also the announcer for 7-Eleven’s “Oh Thank Heaven” television and radio advertisements and partnered with Vic Mignogna in the series Real Fans of Genius (a parody of Anheuser-Busch’s Real Men of Genius radio ad campaign).

In animation, he is the voice of Heatblast, Ghostfreak, and Vilgax in the Ben 10 franchise, Starscream in Transformers: Prime, Count Vertigo in DC Showcase: Green Arrow and Young Justice, Red Skull, Beta Ray Bill and Wolverine in Wolverine and the X-Men and The Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes and Amon in The Legend of Korra.
