#steven leaves beach city theory

Y'know, this actually does bring up an interesting piece of meta to chew on...
Why does Steven obsess so much over those two and their relationship?
Like... where did this even start? And what might it say about Steven himself as an individual, and about his own interpersonal connections?
I feel like there's probably something here, with like... how much young s1 Steven seemed to assume them as waaaaay older than him, and had many lines of dialogue suggesting he assumed they were married, and even like... that moment in Rose's room where the glitched Beach City "idealized" versions of Sadie and Lars almost treated him in a loving "parental" way, saying "we love you, goodbye" before disappearing into the back.
Something-something mumble mumble Lars and Sadie being the closest humans to Steven's home in those early tumultuous days of the Gems always being away on missions and Greg being fairly distant (out of fear of getting overly involved in Gem stuff) and Pearl and Amethyst always getting on each others' case and everyone in his life always leaving him home alone to just be a free ranged kid with almost no responsibilities or supervision- and him wandering in to this familiar little store where the same two people are always there and they fight in the same way his guardians do, but like, his guardians all still love each other, right, so Lars and Sadie must too, and, and... mix that all up with his lingering mommy issues and his subconscious craving for a normal, stable family life (see Chile Tid, and him literally dreaming about he and the Gems all being human and living out a dull sitcom episode plot instead of the chaos their life is instead) and suddenly you have the two co-workers at the donut shop he gets breakfast at almost every day becoming the spinning centerpiece of all these stagnating emotions of his
Or, that's just ONE theory.
There's honestly a lot more one can say about Steven's need to constantly have a little people improvement pet project further down the line in the show, but I get the sense that LITTLE little Steven first started fixating on their dynamic bc he was like,,, playing "house" in his head

Max I am suddenly obsessed with your fic idea of Steven getting dream advice thanks to weird weed dreams. I'd love to hear more about that one!
Alskdmoclsodkcs I'm glad!!! I'm actually really excited to write that one day- it's a favorite of mine to tinker with. It's set between the corruption incident and Steven leaving Beach City, and all about Steven trying to put the pieces together to what he wants in life. It also happens to include Amethyst introducing him to her bong, bc why not. (She has the dankest stash in Beach City DON'T @ me)
Anyway, each chapter is another surreal-ish dream that Steven originally attributes to the weed mixing with his meds, then just his meds, and finally his own Gem. Concepts include:
After a long day of awkwardly figuring out how a bong works Steven dreams of Lion, only Lion talks. I was never big into the "Rose is Lion" theory but Steven's always had talking animal guides in his more surreal adventures/dreams. Steven frets he's wasting time and Lion tells him "there's always more time."
Steven visits Jasper to show her a doobie and chill because as much as he hates being called "My Diamond" Jasper is the only person he's let have a good long look at how "terrible" he is. He dreams of her corrupted form leading him somewhere.
Connie comes over to study and while explaining math problems Steven falls into a doze and dreams of a 50s-style satire show (think "Chille Tid" but not as cute) where Connie goes to Pearl with a gash on her face she claims is from a rose bush and Pearl walks her through the process of how to apply makeup to hide it. Connie mentions that that might infect the wound and she tells Connie she's "free to bother her liege if she wants", telling him this is around when Connie first started training. He wakes up and rubs the makeup off her face, finding a scar. As Connie gets embarrassed Steven begins to realize he really doesn't know everything about anyone.
Eventually this coalesces into a moment where Steven takes a fuckton of sleeping meds bc he knows his Gem half will protect him and he wants answers as to where all of this is coming from. Pink Steven does appear, calls him a dumb fuck, explains that he doesn't control the subconscious and it's just regular Steven trying to work through his own problems, then punches him to wake him up. Steven realizes he has a lot of thinking to do.

Deltarune Theory: Kris’s Big Brother Asriel Dreemur, Created Undertale
what if the game in the folder on Asriel’s computer,
is really the Undertale Game, and he based all the characters in it, from those who live in his Hometown.
he made Undyne in that world, become Captain of The Royal Guard,
which is the opposite of her Template, who would later become a Police Chief after Asgore Dreemurr was forced to step down and lost his job as a Police Officer.
the Undertale Game in Asriel’s computer, is also a Dark World,
meaning that all the counterparts of Deltarune, are Darkners.
Asriel could of started making the Undertale Game in Deltarune,
before he went off to College, he and Kris could of use to go there all the time,
that Dark World was both Asriel and Kris’s Sanctuary as a way to escape from having to listen to their parents fighting, which might of started after a incident that cost Asgore’s job.
Asriel program the Asgore in the game, to be a King, beloved by everyone,
he even made it so that the Darkner version of his Mother, loved jokes and cooking.
while the Undertale we the Players play, is a creation of Toby Fox
and his Team, the Undertale that is in a folder on Asriel’s computer in the Deltarune World, is a creation of Asriel Dreemurr.
Asriel’s Computer, could also be a Multiverse, like anytime those like the Players, make a Fanon AU (Alternate Universe) or AT(Alternate Timeline)
or a AR (Alternate Reality) inspired by Undertale, those different worlds
would end up in a collective glowing orb like hives in Asriel’s Computer.
but there is a barrier that keeps those worlds and the Undertale World by Toby Fox, from finding the Undertale that Asriel created.
like picture Ink-Sans and Error-Sans are in the middle of fighting,
but they get transported outside of the pocket dimension, or  Pocket-Multiverse that is inside of Asriel of Deltarune’s computer.
and they end up finding themselves looking through a square glass,
and see Giant versions of the Prince and what looks like Frisk.
a Pocket-Multiverse, is like a Micro-Universe that is inside a space,
like OK KO Let’s Be Heroes being a Micro-Universe that is in a Arcade Game in a Arcade in Beach City, in Steven Universe.
this would mean that anytime a Fan makes a AU based off of Undertale or Deltarune, those worlds would end up in a Pocket-Multiverse which is also a Micro-Universe that is inside of Kris’s Brother Asriel’s Computer.
for all we know, we could live in a Pocket-Multiverse....
Asriel, could of created clones of himself and Kris, so they could leave that world and go back to their lives.
but no matter how many times they tried, their parents who believed they were their real parents, might of stop them each time.
so Asriel and Kris had to fake their deaths, by having Kris pretend to eat those flowers (the same ones that Chara had Prince Asriel get for them.)
Asriel then created a “Human Soul” and gave it to his clone to absorb,
he then created a clone of Kris, that had no soul at all and just remain lifeless and Asriel orders the clone to pick up the body and go outside the barrier for a few minutes and then come back.
little did Asriel know, is that the clones were unstable, and never made it to the barrier and ended up slowly turning to dust and died on the bed of flowers in the throne room.
both Asriel and Kris watched in a hidden passage way in the room,
and watched the anger and sadness from the copies of their parents,
over the loss of their two children.
even if Asriel could of went out with Kris and showed the two that they were alive, and the ones who died were clones of them, Asriel instead took their little sibling’s hand and started to lead them to the Dark Fountain that would take them back home.
and just like how it plays out in the Other Undertale,
King Asgore Dreemurr, declared war on humanity, and the Queen left.
at some point the Queen, Toriel became self aware that they are all but copies of the Lightners, who unlike them, can bleed and their souls (like human souls) come in different colors.
my theory is that in some point, Undertale will be a Chapter in Deltarune,
and it will be a Dark World inside of Asriel’s Computer, that is inside that folder, that has game that never saw the light of day.
how Asriel was able to make Darkner Clones of himself and his sibling,
is that he could of taken a piece of his fur and a part of the hair on Kris’s head,
and used creation magic.
the reason why Asriel never took Kris or himself back to that Dark World,
is because whenever they tried to leave, their Darkner Parents would always get in the way or one of the Royal Guards would stop them and take them back to the Castle.
in that world, Asriel and Kris are Royalty, and that world became a safe place for them to get away from their Lightner Parents whenever they fought.
when Asriel and Kris left that world and never returned, and everyone in the underground believed they had died (even if it wasn’t true and Asriel had faked his and Kris’s death so they could go to the Dark Fountain and leave.)
and at some point after those two left that Dark World that Asriel created,
Gaster fell into that world and started to mess with it,
he even created a hole that leads to other dark worlds, and the hole is right next to the Determination Extractor.
before Gaster fell into that hole, he had created the Reset and even Rewrote the Memories of the Darkner Clone of Asriel, making him believe that they first met “Chara” when they fell in the underground.
Gaster took over that Dark World, and messed with what Asriel created,
even creating characters that weren’t in that world before.
at some point Gaster left that world, and fell into the hole that is in the True Lab, and he ends up in the Card Kingdom, which was another Dark World.
this Gaster might be different from the one from the Undertale the Player plays.
like the Undertale Game in Asriel’s computer, that he had created...
could still have some slight differences from the Undertale that is only a video game that the fans of Undertale (the one not created by Asriel)
like in the Undertale Game that Asriel created,
Darkner versions of Noelle and Susie appear in that world,
and are still little kids much like Monster Kid.
in the Undertale that some fans have played, Susie and Noelle never appear physically in the game, but Susie is mentioned.
I’m not sure if the theory about Undertale being a game that Asriel (from Deltarune) created will be correct or will actually end up being a future chapter.
I still think Kris could have a half soul, and they have a Hollow-Soul/Soulless
and the Player’s Proxy-Soul in their body.
and anytime the Hollow-Soul (which is like a Hollow-Kris) takes over Kris’s body during the night, Kris’s Half-Soul goes into a hibernation, and it isn’t them that pulls the Proxy-Soul of the Player out of their body, but the Soulless Entity that is a Hollow-Soul.
it looks like a normal soul, but it has no filling in the center and looks like it has a heart shaped hole.
I think the Hollow-Soul and Kris having a Half-Soul could possibly be true.
but it is a fan theory, and only a few elements in Deltarune, end up being accidentally predicted by the fans.
like the whole Darkners turning into items when they leave the Dark World,
or the whole Kris eating the Pie, those were one of the best accidental predictions made by fans.
I believe that eating the Pie, was not all that Kris did, I believe that in the end of Chapter 1, Hollow-Soul/Soulless-Kris took over the Good-Kris’s body,
pulled our Proxy-Soul out and left the house, and broke into the library
and created a new dark fountain, and had influenced Queen.
when Soulless-Kris is in full control, the form they take while in the Dark World, is different from the one that the Good-Kris’s form.
Kris or rather the Soulless/Hollow-Soul inside their body,
didn’t eat the pie until after they came home from breaking into the library,
where they had created a dark fountain.
if Asriel, the one from Deltarune, did created his version of Undertale within the Deltarune game, wouldn’t that make him the God of Hyperlife instead of Hyperdeath....?
I’m sure there are few fans who came to the same theory,
that Undertale would end up being a future Chapter in Deltarune,
and that the Dark World version of Undertale, will be a video game that Asriel created, but it never saw the light of day and it was only played by both himself and his little sibling Kris, when they didn’t want to deal with their parents fighting.
sometimes, video games are a good way to escape...
and it can really suck how some who have a dislike of Gamers,
don’t understand the joy it brings, and they only see the negative side.
even if some can see the positive, and not really being Gamers or even played video games at all....
there will always be those who have some view on Gamers,
even going so far as take the hate and dislike too far...
but there can still be good people who might not be interest in video games,
but can respect the joy it brings to those who play them.
anyway hope some of you find the theory about Asriel from Deltarune,
creating a Undertale Game, that is in a folder inside his computer.
it would be freaky if that theory turned out to be canon, but this is just a fan theory, and not all theories will turn out to be true....only sometimes.

Me, a firm believer in the “Steven leaves Beach City” theory: It’ll be really healthy for the good boi! following his parents footsteps in leaving to find peace, yes
My colorful and illogical imagination: what if he got into a car accident just as he gets out, like that’s just how the show ends and rebecca just—

It's a different little town, in a different far away place, with different townspeople with kind, gentle faces. The people smile as they walk by. They couldn't smile back. "He's here." He's here. They know he is. In this different little town with its different townspeople, far far away from the sea. "Steven's here."

THIS VULTURE WARNS YOU OF SU FUTURE SPOILERS FOR SNOW DAY!!
Tumblr media
ahem now we may proceed
.
.
.
In the episode Snow Day, a short moment occurs where the book series 'The No Home Boys' is brought up.
Tumblr media
Pearl: ooOOO! We can reread No Home Boys!
Garnet: And I'll do all the voices!
This could very possibly be foreshadowing to the Steven running away theory, linking with the title and ending card and the fact Steven's favourite No Home Boys book is about the No Home Boys being chased across the countryside by a mysterious pursuer which turns out to be the very fear resting inside themselves. Then again, this could also be seen as corrupted Steven foreshadowing, as the theory has been linked to that quote many time and for it to be brought up again could be a clue.
On the otherhand
Tumblr media
ya boi has sleeves :D
also! The no home boys being brought up once more may just or also be a nudge at Steven being stuck in the past (considering this episode was filled with references of previously episodes, and earlier we have had other throwbacks to older episodes eg Steven listening to 'Havent you noticed Im a star'). Who knows :P
one more thing

Okay so after watching the new SU Future episodes I have a new theory; Steven will leave Beach City at the end of the series.
Tumblr media
There’s some possible foreshadowing going on. Each episode now begins with a view from inside Steven’s car with Beach City and the Temple reflected in the rear view mirror. The outro continues this theme with the car passing by Beach City and the Temple. There is purposeful movement in both these sequences. The first person POV in the title card places us the viewers in the driver’s seat. We are going forward into the unknown with familiar images from the past either passing by or disappearing into the sunset. We are symbolically Steven traveling away from the past and towards the future.
Tumblr media
Contrast this with the main title card and outro of the previous series. They’re much more passive sequences. The background remains stationary and the animation is limited to the weather and objects being moved by forces of nature. Laundry flutters on the clothesline, clouds pass over the ocean, grass rustles in the breeze, etc. Sometimes the colors change with the light, sometimes there is rain or snow. The POV keeps us grounded in the same spot while things happen around us. We have no power, much like Steven himself was during that time.
Tumblr media
It’s no coincidence that driving a car features so prominently in SU Future. The story takes place when Steven has matured and gained greater power and agency. He has changed the world around him and in many ways he has changed as well, but as we’ve seen in these first four episodes there is still much growing for him to do. Beach City is not the same place it was years ago, and Steven is not the same Steven he once was, but being in the same place all his life is ultimately hindering his growth. Leaving home and starting a new life elsewhere is an important rite of passage from childhood to adulthood. He’s outgrowing his old home, like a baby bird that’s grown too big for the nest and needs to learn how to fly.
Tumblr media
In closing, the lyrics of the new ending song are very meaningful for Steven. “Just a little time, just a little something else instead.” Steven has devoted his life to one cause that is all but resolved. Perhaps now he’ll finally get something else instead.

Steven Universe x Gravity Falls
As I mentioned in a previous post, the Summer Job AU is all I’ve been thinking about. I just love all aspects of it: Dipper insisting that there is Something Up with that new kid, Mabel being Stevens little buddy all summer, Ford asking Steven all about what’s happened on Homeworld and the whole, “Wait... you’re telling me you’re a DIAMOND???!??1!!” conversation.
Anyway I was sitting around thinking about the timelines and dates of evereything in these shows (because I have litterally NOTHING else to do during quarantine) and I have come to the conclusion that Steven is actually younger than the Pines twins. Mabel and Dipper Pines were born August 31, 1999. They turned 13 in 2012, which is the summer they spent at Gravity Falls. Today they would be 20, approaching their 21st birthday later this year. I’ve seen quite a few theories about Steven’s age during SUF, and in my opinion, I think it is safe to assume that by the end of SUF Steven is either 18 or close to 18 years old. If Steven leaves Beach City in 2020 and he’s around 18 years old, it means he was born sometime close to 2001-02. Thus, the twins would actually be older than Steven!
I know time travel is 100% a plausible explanation for Steven being older than the twins when he visits Gravity Falls, so I guess all that theorizing doesn’t really matter. But I like to think that he would show up during the summer of 2013 so he wouldn’t have to deal with Bill (my pink son has been through ENOUGH).

Alright it’s theory time
Okay so after seeing the new promo for suf i have a theory about a lot of the scenes we see in it.
I think a couple scenes from the trailer will all take place in the same episode.
We’ve seen Steven use his mother’s room before to try and enact situations which he wishes would take place in real life. Like in Rose’s Room, the room more often than not listens to what Steven wants subconsciously rather than listen to what he’s saying in the moment. He says he wants to go out of the room to get something. He’s expecting to have to see the gems.
Tumblr media
“Don’t get excited guys. Im only back for a second.”
But since the room knew that he subconsciously didn’t want to see the gems, instead of letting him go it created an entire version of beach city without the gems.
Tumblr media
“Well... good! I didn’t want to see you anyway.”
When Steven first enters Rose’s room I think he’s looking for peace and quiet for a moment, a chance to step away from everything and calm down. And where’s the calmest place that he lives near? The forest... well, at least, it would be calm if Jasper wasn’t living there. Hence why Steven goes to the room to recreate such a place without any unpleasant interruptions.
Tumblr media
But you can’t run from your own thoughts. Because Steven is so distraught and upset I think the room will pick up on that and create either a stressful situation or upsetting imagery within the room, causing Steven to go pink and lash out.
There’s a lot of crazy thinks going on in Steven’s life right now and having the room make another crazy situation definitely isn’t helping. So what’s the one thing the room could make that Steven is sure can’t be upsetting to him?
Connie.
I believe Steven will attempt to use the room to practice asking Connie out on a date.
Tumblr media
Now i know that seems far fetched and too “fan service” like, but look.
Tumblr media
There’s a picnic table, a picnic basket, jam, and Steven’s guitar. The important piece to look at here is the jam. Jam buds, anyone? While it could also be interpreted as Steven and Connie merely having a picnic together as friends it makes sense why he would specifically play out a date in Rose’s room. He expects the room to recreate things from real life as they truly are, which is most likely why he tried to test run it in the room first before making the move to ask Connie out in real life.
But remember the part about Rose’s room listening more to Steven’s subconscious than his words? I think Steven subconsciously believes Connie will reject him, and therefore in the room Cloud Connie also rejects him which is what leads to his outburst. After that, Steven undoubtedly wants to leave the room as fast as possible.
Which is what leads to this.
Tumblr media
Much like in Rose’s Room, the room will create a fake means of escape for Steven to leave the room as fast as possible. But as we’ve seen in the trailer and in Prickly Pair Steven isn’t too happy with the gems right now and i doubt he wants to see them. Again the room would create a version of, at least, the house where the gems don’t exist.
This would overload the room and eventually lead us to this.
