Avengers: Endgame First Impressions

I wanted to do something exciting for my 100th post. I was planning on writing a list of the things all the things I loved the first time I watched Avengers: Endgame, but I never ended up doing it. Then recently, I decided to try to remember what that list was...

I remember thinking she looked like the most beautiful angel goddess in this moment. I was so relieved that Tony was saved.

I just loved that. "Wow." He's thinking that, to her, 3000 is a really big number. Tony is such a good dad.

"Turns out resentment is corrosive, and I hate it." "Me, too." This moment came after a long wait. I've always loved their respect and love for each other, and that was very noticeably absent from Avengers: Infinity War. It felt so good to see them finally let go of the bitterness between them and have them fighting side by side again.

Hearing "A Promise" again! I had spent the last month listening to that song, and it was just so familiar. I wasn't expecting it, and it was so exciting to hear it again as the Avengers were suiting up all together one last time and Steve was giving them his last speech. He is really good at that. :')

"Yeah, I know!" This was pretty much my favorite part of the whole movie the first time I watched it. I laughed for so long. He's heard that before. :)

"On your left." I loved Steve's visible relief. He can hardly believe that he's hearing Sam's voice. Sam has always had his back.

Wasp coming out of the portal. Somehow, subconsciously, I was waiting for her, and I got so excited when I saw her again.

I loved Wanda and Okoye being the ones to say that Carol has help because Wanda, Okoye, and Natasha fought Proxima Midnight in Avengers: Infinity War. This moment was for Natasha.

Steve got to be with Peggy. As much as this scene ripped me apart, and still does, I remember thinking how peaceful he looked. I've loved the song "It's Been A Long, Long Time" ever since I first heard it in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and it was so familiar and fit so perfectly. I had been anticipating this scene for a year, and it finally came. This scene meant that Steve was never coming back. But I was also smiling through the tears because I was happy for him. He got to be with Peggy.

I love Peggy, and Steve is my favorite character. I love that they ended up together, because they were very much meant to be. However, I was also a huge fan of Sousa throughout the entire Agent Carter show. I found myself at certain points chanting "Sousa! Sousa! Sousa!" :) In life, if you lose someone you fell in love with, you can fall in love again. Peggy found love again after she lost Steve because she still had a whole life ahead of her. I think Steve was never able to find love again in the present because it was a short time in his life before he got to be with Peggy for most of his life. The love of Peggy's life in the main timeline was Daniel Sousa. On the alternate timeline, Steve was the love of that life. Both Steve and Peggy had someone who was second after each other: Sharon Carter and Daniel Sousa. But you only have one soulmate, and Steve and Peggy are SOULMATES. :)

Lately, I've been thinking about the scene in Captain America: The Winter Soldier when Fury is in Steve's apartment and the stereo is on. When Steve goes inside, the song is ending, and then it just starts over again. I can just imagine Steve listening to it over and over, thinking of dancing with Peggy. It's funny because in Captain America: The First Avenger, they talked about dancing so many times, but they never actually got to hold each other in their arms. That makes their dance in Avengers: Endgame so much more meaningful. They never once got that before they lost each other. They both thought about that dance so many times, which we see in the movies and in the Agent Carter show. I keep wondering if Peggy ever listened to this song. I've loved the song "It's Been A Long, Long Time" since I heard it in Captain America: The Winter Soldier the first time, but I never really thought about what the song means. It was so perfect for their first dance. I was watching Captain America: The First Avenger recently, and I noticed that in one scene, when Peggy walks away, Steve is just looking after her with love in his eyes. :) If Steve had to leave in some way, I'm so happy that Steve and Peggy got to be together.

I love Peggy. She inspires me. She's so beautiful. I love the way her makeup is done, and her hair color is beautiful. I'm loving Agent Carter because she's always one step ahead of the rest of the SSR. She leaves, and then they pull up. :') Steve and Peggy are so similar. They're perfect for each other. :) They both have the "even if I'm alone" mindset about doing good. Peggy is surrounded by women, but none of them are in her line of work and they don't think the way she does. The men disregard her and her skills. She's alone, except for Jarvis. Her and Steve are both the people who are standing alone in front of an army saying, "You'll have to go through me first."
