children are so morbid.

i was subbing a class of three/four yr olds and trying to engage them in creative play. the playground has some shallow craterous holes and i tried making them playing on the moon etc.. but the only thing that got them Hype was when i said "okay get the hole were doing funerals"

i explained that what you do is "get in the hole and we say eulogies. you say what you like about your friend and say bye."

so a child eagerly crouches up in the hole, and another is SO EXCITED and laughing and then.. i say, okay, whats your eulogy? what do you like about him?

and the other child stops short. gets real quiet. crouches down. sprinkles some dirt ever so gingerly on his friend. its suddenly a very serious moment for him.

he says, "sammie," in such a gentle and tearful tone, as if they have any concept of this game past saying scripts and playing in a hole, he says, "sammie... i really like your pikachu shirt." and then sprinkles se dirt on him amd walks away and immediately gets distracted like any other fucking child

it's so sad to me that the Neopets website so completely fucked and unusable. I hate it. it's like watching your loved one die slowly, I almost wish they'd just drop it and close it down so I wouldn't feel the need to play my fav flash games for np and just go to an archive site for it

idk why no one like called cps on my family when I was a little girl who didn't want to be touched or hugged, had to go to speech therapy bc I wouldn't talk, did 0 hw and couldn't even focus on assignments that were 'fun', and also was just absent the majority of my childhood at school? Like I wore the same clothes all the time, probably smelled, was constantly unclean. Ik it's just salty but I really wish I could just send a personal message to every single one of my elementary teachers and just let them know that they failed me and their job and also they should feel incredibly bad and are bad people. And also every parent who had me over for a playdate and then never allowed their child to socialize with me again after meeting my family

my student('s parents) gave me an orchid when it was in full bloom. It hung on for months, and then it was SO poetic that the last day they were in my class the last orchid bloom fell and it started to bloom again a week or two later :) its something I feel too shy and sentimental about to tell their parents but it's very touching to me

its 129 and i had such a long day and was doodling what im doing rn. which is laying around listening to uncle tairy after studying for like 6 hours but also too tired from work to retain much

im having a not-so-rare-anymore moment where im contemplating, and thinking about how a stage of *really* poor mental health is behind me. i never really thought id get to the point where comprehending a future where i am not drowning in just, *my own mind*, would seem possible to me. getting to that other side where i can see myself as a content person is.. wonderful. being comfortable in myself cool. im not like that all the time, but im getting there. it's cool

I caught up with all of dragon maid and honestly it's a shame that it's so adorable, and weirdly filled with scenes and plot bears that can be read as gay metaphors, but suffers the MOST from the two factors that just make an anime not worth it for me to recommend:

-kobayashi just NEVER reciprocates!!!

In the manga I heard later on Kobayashi says "I like you, too." It isn't enough though u_u

It's SUCH A CUTE CONCEPT!! a normal, gay adult woman suddenly gets a gay monster to be her maid wife and they raise a child gay monster. The best friend at work who is ALSO gay for HIS GAY MONSTER THAT HE LIVES WITH and is a mega-nerd with... Such cute slice of life shenanigans!!

It's so cute!! But it's so disappointing. If I was a bigger nerd, without a full time job and school keeping me busy, I'd be tempted to just edit and cut the anime so that any loli/shota scenes or parts where Kobayashi swerves tohyru wouldn't be shown, since I don't think any of their scenes add to the plot... they just take away from the potential of the show (the potential being a really cute, fantasy, gay, slice of life show)

Like a dragon maid "Kai," just edited enough and having some scenes tweeked to not ruin the moment or make things awkward to watch

I'm watching ms Kobayashi's dragon maid and I'm actually pleasantly surprised that it isn't as trashy I was expecting it to be (still trashy but not cringe) and also gay. I was putting off bc I thought it's be a bit toooo much for me
