im starting my 5 day mental preparation program for starting patho 2 again this weekend

#yknow when like 2 years ago or something i had just gotten to the part where the inquisitor comes to town #but then the ps4 gave me irrepairable damage to my brain and spirit by chugging and crashing the game even more than it already did #maybe this time my immunity wont be gone immediately bc loading screens took 10 seconds and froze my controls #but the immunity still kept going down while it loaded 💀💀💀💀💀💀 #oh no now talking more abt it is giving me war flashbacks and making me lose enthusiasm to play it again HDJFKDJDJ #no but rlly its such a cool game and im rlly looking forward to playing it in a playable state #and its one i think everyone should play. but its SO inaccessible #you need a very high end pc or. well i havent played it on the ps5 but the ps4 is not enough #like i said i got to over the half way point on the ps4 t and yes it was hell bc of the lag and frame drops and the amount of #extra items you had to use bc of the lag but then i had to stop bc at the same point on that day it crashed everytime i reached it again #which was frustrating bc i had finally gotten to the point that artemy wasnt starving 24/7 despite eating 4 2-course meals a day LMAO #but yeah starting it again is so daunting bc of the reputation of the game of course #but i need to keep reminding myself that the gameplay wasnt THAT difficult like at the end of the day i got through it and wasnt stressed #but that the thing that made me rip my hair out was the lag and the crashes leading to lost progress #which hopefully will be fixed when i play on the ps5! #i just finally after such a long time got the desire to play it again and i have to use it while i can

i managed to get my desktop to load with the "reinstall windows from hard drive and not delete all your files" option but it deleted all my files and periodically crashes still lol

#a lot of the stuff I cared about got picked up by onedrive or is uploaded elsewhere #and i havent had the puter super long so im not that heartbroken #its still annoying though #im gonna try updating the drive and if that doesnt fix things im gonna assume i melted something important and take it to the shop #this puters kind of a wimp though my big PC that ive had for a decade has gotten way hotter running shit and no issues like this #gen z laptops cant even handle 120 F in my car for a week #pathetic #jk dont abuse ur laptops

trying not to post about it but i feel like im slowly losing it ive been bleeding since jan 30 and its not stopping i cant get up and walk around for more than a few minutes ive had to cancel my therapy appointment i havent been able to leave the house bec theres just no way to do it theres nothing my parents or i can do until i go to the doctor on thursday and every day i think about going to the emergency room or urgent care because why the fuck is my period lasting almost 4 weeks but i dont want to be turned away or mocked for taking it seriously or just told "lose weight" bec i did look it up and obesity is 1 of the causes of v long periods apparently but im just so freaked out and havent been sleeping regularly its affecting my day to day and i do things on the pc and talk to friends (i love u heath and nina forever and ever) which helps stay sane but im just so. scared and angry and im TIRED of it like this isnt normal its never been nearly this long i just. want to see my doctor and for them to fix it so i never have to do this again. almost an entire month straight of not just bleeding but not being able to leave the house and do stuff bec of it + the extent of it. argh.

still been online just sporadically on tumblr but idk i just. posting about it is gross and tmi but i needed to post about it twice at least yk?

in other news my husband bought me a new laptop!!!!!!! :)))))) since my macbook is 10 years old and for the last few years has been almost completely unusable(so much of its software and hardware is fucked up and nothing ive tried has fixed its issues, it cant get its iOS updated anymore, it always has to be plugged in to work, and its so slow it cant run more than one program at a time), it is essentially a paperweight. this new laptop is specifically for gaming and he got it for half off (like its normally about $1k but for some reason electronic stores did black friday deals super early) and its brand new, not refurbished, and not an apple (aka shitty) product. he picked it up for me today while i was sleeping so it was just here when i woke up like it was christmas day

ive been customizing stuff on it and playing around with it to get a feel for it. i havent tried to run any games yet but i downloaded witcher 3 (since its a pretty taxing game i think itll be a good performance test), and it installed in like 10 minutes. if that game runs without issue then i bet if i got an extra stick of 8gb ram i could run freaking anything, even games like metro exodus and cyberpunk. altho my desktop PC is an absolute beast and can run any game--my husband built it for me in 2016 for my birthday and even tho it could run cyberpunk surprisingly well with those specs, he recently replaced the graphics card, mother board, and doubled the ram so it's basically a tank of a gaming PC now--i cant take that thing on trips obviously. which i have to do more often than i would like. i really needed a functioning laptop, so im super excited!!!!

in my opinion i dont deserve such a nice thing at all, or even the PC i have, especially because i havent had an income since 2019. but my husband disagrees lol he fuckin rules, i love him. aside from how much he takes care of my chronically ill ass and puts up with my shit, financially supports me, does countless things for me out of pure selflessness, always wants to make me feel good, im always amazed by the thoughtful way he gives me gifts without needing to ( its never my bday or a holiday ykwim). theyre either total surprises to me that blow me away bc the level of attention and care that went into it, or its practical things that hes like "im getting this thing for you bc you need it and you deserve nice tools instead of settling for crap, idc what you think!!!!!!"

he even bought me a brand new iphone too since my iphone is 7yrs old, cant get updated past iOS 12 meaning i cant use or download a ton of apps i rly need and its constantly running out of space and starting to have battery issues. ive been avoiding getting a new one for a long time cuz ive been clinging to having an audio jack but the phone has become so obsolete software-wise that it is more problem than its worth just to have an audio jack. although the new phone has yet to arrive which is frustrating cuz he ordered it 3 weeks ago and it still says its in the order stage, not even shipped.

regardless i feel so sugared rn lmao. im gonna play witcher 3 on this laptop and see how it runs :3

anyway this is um . how to remove tumblr live (maybe . unclear . not promised)

u will need :

android device . have tumblr installed

back up anything and everything on ur device , esp stuff ud die over losing . and back it up again . nothing should break at all rly , but if it does , i warned u

install luckypatcher and follow all the directions and whatever . if u dont want to install apks like this or trust it at all , ur journey ends here . if smth on ur phone breaks - it didnt on mine and shouldnt - be prepared 2 take responsibility 4 that . (its like messing with control panel or CMD on a pc, if ur not sure what ur doing or dont know how to fix it if something breaks or arent prepared 2 just deal with it , then dont start in the first place . u should always keep a backup of ur data anyway tho tbh , modding or not . factory resetting fixes most issues )

gather ur will 2 take responsibility for whether this is a win or a loss

once ur done with that , heres where we get into murky territory because i was literally just fucking around . u should see a list of ur apps when alls said and done - search tumblr and tap it . i think what removed tumblr live was "apk with changed permissions and activities", but what i did was : apk with multi patch > check "remove ads" "support patch for inapp and lvl emulation" and "apk with changed permissions and activities" > rebuild the app .

on the next screen, uncheck "remove links" and "offline patch"

u can ignore this if u want , i wasnt able to like use this to trick tumblr into thinking i paid , but maybe u can idk

heres where the juicy shit is . i literally disabled anything that had "ad" in it, but i believe the meat of the tumblr live stuff is anything with "io.wondrous" or "live" in it . i also disabled a whole bunch of other stuff like the shops - only the links at the top of the settings menu are still there for me, but they dont go anywhere . idk how to disable ui elememts like that </3 figuring it out

heres all the stuff i disabled . no hiccups with the regular like-reblog-view-blog cycle , ofc the stuff disabled here doesnt work . tumblr butchered the quality of the long sc, just save it n look at it in ur gallery

anyway once uve disabled all that and whatever else looked fishy or whatever, "rebuild the app" . wait for it to finish .

choose uninstall and reinstall . old tumblr byebye

Adobe Broke Photoshop in 2023 (October Update)

Back in July, I made a post detailing how bad Photoshop has gotten for me this year, which you can read here. But if you want a tldr version of it, following new years Photoshop stability and reliability has taken a nose dive with constant crashes that prevent auto recover from being as effective to glitches that make working in it a nightmare. Its been over 3 months since I made that post and I kinda wanted to do an update on how photoshop has been. Has it actually gotten better? Kind of but not really. In some ways, its gotten better, in others worse but generally not much has changed. I guess two positives that come to mind is that one of the afformention glitches I noted was patched up at some point in July, so I was able to update finally. Though, I didnt experience the backlash from not updating photoshop like I had in March (fuck you Adobe). And I havent been experiencing the left click lock as much, although thats more to do with me not doing certian commands that I found could trigger it than adobe actually being a good company and fixing it. There's a thread on the adobe forums about this issue, and according to one of most recent posts as of the 22nd, they run a photo company and have called Adobe support 5 times about this issue, and it seems that no one at Adobe knows about this glitch. Yes a billion dollar company who sells programs at inflated prices because they're "industry standard" knows nothing about a single bug that has been in the program for 6 months, but will gladly add in new features no one will use.

Now when I say things got worse, crashes started happening more frequently again in late September and Early October. But instead of happening weekly, they happened almost every fucking day. One day I would have a crash, the next day nothing would happen, before a crash happening the following day. And what was more crushing about this was that it happened while I was dealing with selections and flatting comic pages... whats funny about this is that not only can selections not be recovered if you close the file (even if you save), but can only be saved by pressing a seperate save button which has no keyboard commands. Which made these crashes more horrible than if I had been inking or sketching. Once again, I consulted the Adobe forums for help and once again, the solution was to update my gpu driver which was out of date. I don't think its the fact that I had already done this and nor that somehow, the driver I had been using since March was already out of date by September that makes this situation so ridiculous. But its the fact that I've pretty much had to bend over to change my pc just so I could run photoshop within the same year. In contrast to how things were before 2023 where I didn't have to do a single thing and photoshop ran fine. Its only this year that for some divine reason that the program decided to be shit to me.

So why was I still using it if it was so bad? It was because of my first Chapter. Around the time I had that initial post, I was still hard at work on finishing my comic's first Chapter which has taken me 4 years to complete. I had anticipated getting it done around that time, but due to burn out I ended up taking much longer, finishing it on October 13th. During those final few months, I decided that upon finish Chapter 1, I would be done with photoshop and moving onto a different art program for the rest of my comic. And that program ended up being Clip Studio Paint which I got as an early birthday present from my dad, following photoshop crashing on me two times in that day, the latter happening an hour after I took a break to calm myself down after the first crash....I wish I was making that up. I went with CSP due to the fact that most tapas artists I know use it and because of the many good things they've said about it. Its a pretty highly regarded program, and even if my motive for buying it wasn't because of Photoshop's "quirks", it has features that make producing comics much faster in CSP than in photoshop. So with CSP in my hands, you'd think the nightmare would be over, right?

You so, my plan was to use CSP for my comic starting with Chapter 2 but after spending some time in the program, I realized I probably wouldn't be knowledgeable enough or adapted to it enough just in time for me to start drawing Chapter 2 with a release date of early 2024. So in the end, I decided to wait until Chapter 3 to make the switch, while limiting myself to CSP for spur of the moment drawing ideas and illustrations. Yes, Photoshop has been a complete failure to me but I am way more experienced with it than with Clip Studio. I dont want there to be a potential quality drop following the most recent episode and I want to be sure I can use it before jumping into creating comics. This isnt like the switch from traditional to digital for my comic back in 2021, because I had already had more than a years worth of experience with photoshop and digital drawing by that time. Because of that, the switch wasn't as rough as it would've been if I had done it earlier. I was going to save this announcement for one my kofi 'comic corner' blogs (btw if you want to support me on kofi click here: https://ko-fi.com/kenthenugget) but Im making this post now so why the hell not. But for the time being, Im still going to be using photoshop for Chapter 2, and my character sheets of course. Given how long I spent on Chapter 1, you might think Im crazy for wanting to use the program for another 4 years but I don't anticipate this chapter taking as long, due to skill and because its much shorter in comparison.

Im not going to lie, I have mixed feelings on continuing to use Photoshop for my comic. On one hand, Im glad I wont need to worry about a potential quality drop but on the other, I dont know how long I can handle crashes and glitches that only seem to persist as time goes on. I'll just pray to God to give me strength during the drawing of Chapter 2 once I finish thumbnailing. Hopefully, I and photoshop will be able to last.....

ok so. continuing from my tags on my last rb i bought an imac g3 a very very long time ago. what i wanted to do with it is make a sleeper pc. a pc that looks like shit, but is a technological powerhouse inside. i really wanted to keep the CRT in it, but it might be damaged beyond safe use (you'll see). ive seen people mod them to have flatscreen displays and it just looks bad. i want that sweet curved screen. i want that gritty buzz. i also want it to run halo infinite and render 4k footage. you get me?

the seller originally didnt want to ship it. but i said i'd take responsibility for it. unfortunately they typo'ed my house number by one. this ordinarily wouldnt be an issue since i couldve just told my neighbour and got it from them, except my street is fucked up, and instead of my street having odd numbers on one side and even numbers on the other (that's common here), the odd numbers just stop after a while, and my house number is an even number beyond that point. so the courier deemed the parcel undeliverable. after back and forth, the seller managed to convince the courier to amend the address and try again.

when it arrived, the box audibly RATTLED. i was immediately heartbroken. and slightly terrified. those bitches contain CRTs. you know what happens when you damage a CRT? it implodes. this was already a concern i had due to what i wanted to do to it, but hearing it rattle really unnerved me because it could literally be a ticking timebomb. so i unwrapped it to see how bad it really was.

the plastic fascia was littered with chips and chunks off of it. thankfully all of the larger pieces were still in the box, but they didnt quite fit right as the edges of the plastic had crumbled and eroded away in rough handling. so i took all the visibly detached pieces off, picked it up and... it still rattled. a lot. there was at least two distinct large rattley parts inside. and to service this beast you basically have to discharge the CRT (a potentially deadly procedure from the electric shock risk alone, nevermind the potential for it to implode if you even slightly fuck up). and with it potentially damaged badly, i just never did it. i never touched it. to make matters worse, the shipping company refused to honour the insurance. since the insurance was paid on the "first" shipping attempt, and they never moved the insurance onto the second "new" label, they said it didnt count.

its still sat in my room. broken. in the box it arrived in. next to my bed. its been years. about 3 years. i havent powered it on (i knew it wasnt able to load mac os when i bought it but it at least booted to the sad mac so it wasnt a problem because ive fixed that kinda thing before. its usually a dead drive or a fucked os) since i dont want to risk shorting something irreplaceable or, again, imploding the CRT. i dont know how badly damaged it is internally, on a technical level. i dont know what's rattling inside it. i hope its not something that's doing more damage the more i leave it like that. i hope it's not a matter of time before the CRT gives the fuck out and detonates.

seeing all the simblrs i follow gives me such silly feelings. i miss ts2 and, god forbid, ts4 so badly but my pc has been fucked up for months. and the only reason its not fixed yet is because i cant bring myself to go get it fixed. 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ sims isnt my priority rn, which is another reason i havent actively gone to fix my pc, but i still miss my sims
