26. The Hate U Give

Equality. Freedom. Democracy.

I really admire movies, especially the people behind it. They always came up with stories that have so much similarities in reality.

And they said, life is like a movie.

I never thought I would cry for this movie on the first 30 minutes of it. I never really knew what this is all about. I never expect it to be this deep.

I am from the Philippines and I watched so many American movies where black people are always on of the bad guys and stuff and I never thought why.

Until today, why did the black guys always get caught as one of the bad guys? Same thing as here in the Philippines. Poor people always end up being the criminal because all the rich and powerful one can manipulate the system.

That's how the cycle is. The life of everyone...but why is it like that?

It's really an eye-opener for me to have watched this. Maybe this is what the black community fely every single time.

Wronged. Abused. Muted.

But not anymore I suppose. And its all because of the people who stand up against it.

This movie will give you the lesson you need to know. Not just about the black community but about the equality of everyone.

I didnt actually thought that the title would mean anything bus as the story goes...its intials says it all.

And I really like the one sentence...

The Hate U Give Little Infants F's Everybody

And it stands for T.H.U.G L.I.F.E

I never knew that those words could mean so much more. I thought it was just a mere phrase to be cool. But it wasn't.

I recommend you to watch this movie because why would I waste my time and brain to write this review right? I wouldn't have to write something like this if it's not recommendable.

Rate: 10/10

You'll cry too. I swear. You will cry because of Sekani. And you'll know why.

I am honestly aggravated by the death of George Flyod, he was murdered by those who were reponsible for protecting the law. Racisism is extremely specific but you do not have to fit under any category to be a racist. I had seen the video it was beyond racism it was a deep anger that was bolted out on another because of the difference in skin color. It is just not that simple though it is not the skin color it is the fact that the policemen still belived that blacks are getting way more then they deserve as if fited his category of defination blacks must remain subordinate and in the mills or plantation. This is a seed of hatred that was inserted in the policemen's head way before he joined force, maybe when he was younger in his school days he bullied people of colour and as he grew up this frivolous idea of coloured people deserving to still be dominated was so strong into his head that he started to religiously believe it. Every time a policemen makes an unruly arrest or abuses his power against a black, afghani or asian it is because he feels entitled to his believe that they do not belong. They do not in the same school as you, not in the same place of work and definately not in the same dinner table.

I hate to admit but it is in honesty not just policemen but every person of any colour, ethnicity, community and gender who believe that they are the one appointed to degrade anyone as they will and please. The policemen should be stopped while he was trying to take the life of an innocent man, while he made other arrest or inquiry just on the assumption of the colour of the skin of the person, when he made derogatory remarks on his coloured colleagues, when he got away in school while bullying his other classmate. He should be stopped when the seed was planted, when the roots were seen and definately cut off when he emerged into a sick tree. We ignore the small signs and as a result lives are lost and belive it or not it all starts very early. The policemen might just be a little teenage boy who goes to school and picks on his coloured classmate.

I also would like to ask all those comedians who get their paycheck by cracking sarcastic humourous joke about racism, where is there voice now? The socialist, the politicians, the artists is this cause not strong enough for you to give a voice to it. I am ashamed to be alive in a era where this still happens and I strongly feel once I die and reunite with my grandfather we will not have any change in the society to discuss. As till now coloured people are being discriminated, different sexual oriented people picked and still there is a group of people who feel they are entitled to make the decision for the rest of us.

It is not just adult men!

Adult men are not the only ones who sexually abuse people!!

My cousin was 15 when he molested a 4 year old. He was only put away for two months, he is 22 now and out free.

My best friend when I was 7 and she was 8 raped a younger kid she knew. She got away with it.

My ex boyfriend was 9 when he started molesting and raping other kids in the school. He is still free.

NOT ONLY DO PARENTS ABUSE AND BEAT UP THEIR KIDS!

My teacher in math abused kids who fell asleep or had mental issues, he bruised us.

A boy in my class purposely broke three ribs and almost broke the arm of a kid. He abused this kid until 8th grade, it started in 5th.

My uncle abused his nieces until they were 17. He started when they were only 3.

My best friend burned her brother who was only 3 with cigarettes. She stopped last year when he was 13.

YOUNG ADULTS ARE NOT THE ONLY ONES WHO GET ASSAULTED IN THE STREETS!!

I remember a story about a 80 year old man got jumped and raped by three other men a few years ago.

A 10 year old who lived on my street when I was 12 got jumped by two guys and a girl, the 10 year old passed away that night.

My cousin was murdered when he was only 14, he was assaulted in school then kidnapped by the kids, my cousin’s body hasn’t been found yet.

THE PEOPLE OF COLOUR ARE NOT THE ONLY ONES WHO GET RACISED!!

If a female muslim is wearing her hijab gets called a terrorist and sent away from stores.

Chinese and or asians get made fun of for their eyes, or the rumour that they eat dogs.

Children who came here from Africa get called slaves at my old school.

A group of kids brought farming supplies for a mexican at my school once.

White kids get called privileged and or rich. Sometimes white kids get degraded for being white, always called racist.

You see, it isn’t just one person or race, EVERY HUMAN of EVERY AGE and CULTURE does something unacceptable but the ones who “don't do it” get away when they do something.

I’ve had less than 2 hours of sleep and the whole time I was asleep I had anxiety dreams. I dreamt I was sad and wouldn’t stop crying, and then I had a dream where all my stuff I owned got lost and nobody cared and I felt so alone and cut off.

Then mom woke me up out of my nightmares to make me help her force Grandma to take her meds. I feel so tired, my body is havung trouble functioning, and I feel like my heart has been racising for hours.
