what are your favourite headcanons about finnpoe? :D

I have so many oh god 😭:

- Poe gives Finn his mum’s ring long before they actually get together bc he values him and their friendship that much (stolen from @finnpo3try but I think it’s beautiful)

- they’re both bi4bi

- Poe being smooth af around everyone else but becomes an absolute fucking disaster anytime Finn so much as smiles at him

- Poe is the sunshine and Finn is the midnight rain their dynamic post-TROS

- Poe is also force sensitive but he’s scared of admitting it because of what happened with Ren. And that’s why what Finn wanted to tell Rey privately was Finn himself being force sensitive because he’s afraid of how that would have changed their relationship

- Poe fell first, but Finn fell harder

- everyone in the resistance had a huge bet on when where and how they were going to end up together. Leia would have won had she still been around.

- they like to slow dance to pre-Empire tunes

- they have their wedding on Yavin 4 under the Force Tree

- Finn’s the only other person allowed near Poe’s X-Wing

- Finn had to share Poe’s clothes after Crait for a few months before they managed to get a steady stream of supplies and even then they don’t really stop sharing.

- they sneak into each other’s rooms everytime one of them has a nightmare

- Rey is their biggest supporter and hater bc she loves that her friends are happy but hates how lovey dovey they can get

- they like to goof off and play with toy star ships in their spare time

10: worst part of fanon

Hmm... I think the worst part of fanon is the headcanon that Korkie Kryze is Obi-Wan's child. It infuriates me to no end. I really hate Satine, but I also think she just wouldn't keep a child made so illicitly. Whether that means having an abortion, which feels more unlikely, or sending the kid off to some other planet to be far away from her.

16: You can't understand why so many people like this thing

Tying into my previous answer, I can't understand why so many people like Obitine. Satine is the most frustrating character to me, from the way she treats her people to the way she treats those around her. I think her and Obi-Wan could never be more than what it was; a short-lived whirlwind romance. I much prefer ships like Codywan, because those are two people who feel like they could actually work in a way that is meaningful.

23: ship you've unwillingly come around to

For this, I would have to also say Codywan. At first, I was skeptical, because I didn't know much about Cody and I wasn't that immersed in the Clone side of the fandom yet. I didn't dislike it, per se, but I just wasn't warmed up to it. And then I saw all the beautiful fanart, and the fics, and the love people poured into these characters. People like my favorite Codywan artist (who I am too afraid to actually tag, but it's Journen) and also some of the really heartbreaking fics and edits that I saw, really made it something I grew to love.

I think there are so many good ships in Star Wars, including canon ones such as Anidala and Hanleia (is that the name for that one?) And ones that absolutely should have been canon, like Finnpoe/Stormpilot.

Finnpoe- "How Lucky Am I"

Poe and Finn retire, suddenly finding themselves married and fathers of 4 former First Order prisoners. They would have been Stormtroopers. Instead, the Resistance prevailed.

A brief snippet from the start of Poe and Finn’s journey into fatherhood.

If you don’t know her already- meet Hera, the youngest of the Finnpoe babies. She was taken as a newborn towards the end of the war, and liberated by Finn, who fell in love with her. Together, he and Poe decided to adopt her, and 3 older siblings soon followed. Hera is about 18 or so months here, and Finnpoe has had her for 3 months.

Hera wakes from her nap and screams for her fathers.

She’s never napped well- their oldest adoptee tells them that the First Order never comforted their stolen infants from nightmares or ill rest. And while she and their boys have at last begun to sleep well, the same is not true for Finn and Poe’s baby girl.

Poe is the one who steps out to get Hera, scooping her into his arms and cradling her against his chest. She wails into his shoulder, clinging to him, and Poe’s heart breaks.

He mutters a few strains from lullabies to her, willing Hera to quiet. It’s a full minute before she settles, gasping tearfully and grabbing at his shirt. He rocks her before pressing a kiss to her forehead, and she wraps a tiny hand around his finger, her brown eyes staring up at him.

“Hi sweetheart,” Poe whispers. “It’s okay. I have you, my love.”

The baby gurgles at him, her eyelids heavy. Still, she watches him and it’s another five minutes before Hera blinks slowly, and her eyes slide shut.

Poe sighs, gazing down at her. Hera is warm in his arms, a heavy and familiar weight. She looks peaceful in sleep, and Poe is not surprised by the usual temptation to hold Hera until she wakes again and tries to wiggle free of him.

It’s incredible, Poe realizes, to go from a war general one year to a father in the next. To find four children in quick succession, and to have a family with the man he loves. Poe inhales sharply, tears suddenly prickling at his eyes. He looks down at Hera.

"How lucky am I, to get to love you.” He whispers his confession. He’s in awe.

"We found each other. The whole wide universe and I get to be your dad. I get to change your diapers and get spit up on. I get to rock you to sleep. I get to love you. How lucky am I."

Poe sobs into Hera's hair, cradling her against his chest. He hears the door creak a moment later and looks up to see Finn watching them, his eyes wide and stricken.

"What's wrong?" He asks in a hurry, "Is she-"

"I'm fine, mi amor," Poe chokes, sounding utterly snotty. He sniffs loudly. Finn doesn't look convinced. "I'm just- we're so lucky to get to have these kids."

He turns his gaze back to Hera, who hasn't been disturbed by their voices, nor by the tears that have fallen from Poe's face onto hers.

"Oh." Finn says, and he steps into the nursery, reaching up to wipe Poe's eyes and cheeks. He presses a chaste kiss to his lover's lips, then runs his fingers over Hera's forehead, brushing stray hairs from her face. "I love you," he promises them both, and Poe leans in, resting his head against Finn's.

"Te amo. We love you."

Finn hums in contentment before pulling away, closing the door behind him as he exits. Poe resumes his swaying and rocking, murmuring lullabies under his breath, holding this most precious child in his arms.

It was still dark out when Poe’s comm buzzed on his bedside. He blindly reached out for it and groaned. Early recon mission alert. Great. Fantastic. Wonderful. He blearily rubbed his eyes and stumbled over to the ‘fresher, doing all the necessary work before returning out in his usual underclothes. The water had been colder than usual and although it left a chill on his skin it was actually kinda refreshing. Mornings on D’Qar were usually warm and sticky, the morning dew clung to the atmosphere and created a syrupy fog around the planet. It wasn’t very different to Yavin IV, where the humidity seemed to move with you in the summer months before being completely washed away by monsoon season. 

Poe tapped BB-8 on its head; the droid beeped to life.

“Come on buddy, we got recon,” Poe whispered, BB-8 beeped in annoyance,

I love the idea of dinluke adopting Finn because when Poe gets to play the meet the family game with his boyfriend’s family not only does he get to meet the Luke Skywalker, but he also gets to meet Finn’s older brother who is maybe still a toddler?? and also small and green and weirdly cute? and his other dad who is a scary Mandalorian that carries aproxomitly 105 blasters at all times and is apparently a king and does that make Finn a prince???
