I just noticed that Stormtail and Thistleclaw end up being very similar.

-Place children in harms way (Storm left an apprentice-aged Goosefeather with no battle training a vague warning to face a badger alone, Thistle had Tigerpaw attack Tiny and invited Spottedpaw into cat hell as well as grooming her and both train apprentices with claws unsheathed).

-Pursued/Groomed partners as children/teenagers (Stormtail with Moonflower + Dappletail, Thistleclaw with Spottedleaf).

-Highly aggressive (Storm immediately wants to attack Windclan, only compliments Bluepaw on her battle prowess, encourages Brindlepaw to use her claws in training, Thistle almost killed Oakheart at a time of peace, trained in cat hell, trained Tigerclaw violently, generally very aggressive to other clans).

-Dislike of own children (Stormtail's overall neglect, Thistleclaw calling Whitekit soft after the loss of his mother)

Funny how Snowfur's father and partner were so similar.

Daisytoe family tree! I didn’t change anything, so here are character design notes!

Both Moonflower and Goosefeather have a whole lot more white, Goosefeather being based off a domestic goose, and then moonflowers being a mostly white flower. Stormtail is a point which is passed down to Bluestar and Snowfur. Stonefur and Mosskit have the same grey as Snowfur, Goosefeather and Daisytoe.

Alright, so. With only a few hours left, it seems the people voted. Stormtail is a predatory cat who groomed Moonflower into being his mate and Ego Booster, only to nearly dip when she got pregnant with Snowkit and Bluekit.

The moment Moonflower got pregnant, Stormtail emotionally checked out. He didn't want her having kits, giving her attention to them and not him. He started working at Dappletail.

Dappletail lost her siblings when they were young and really struggled with making friends. Kind but lonely, she accepted Stormtail's attention under the false promise he made that he was "just being friendly" and of course Moonflower wouldn't mind, she doesn't really need him around, she's such a good mom anyways, let's not bother her, come hunting with me....

Also, just to make it a BIT more comfortable, she is a warrior by the time of Bluestar's Prophecy. She's just small due to starving early in life, apprentice sized, but not an apprentice. Still very uncomfortable though...

Well, Goosefeather had already caught on. He knew he wasn't strong enough to challenge him, but he could make his life difficult in other ways. He made sure that Brindlekit was not made his apprentice, instead saying to Featherwhisker and Sunstar that he knew "good things would come" is she was apprenticed to Sweetberry.

He also made sure that Dappletail would leave him. When they got closer, Goosefeather decided to get more involved with checking up on Dappletail. He offhandedly would make comments about how Bluemoon and Snowflower barely know him, that he all but ditched Moonflower... That he already seems so distant now.

Dappletail takes matters into her own paws and dumps him.

Meanwhile, Goosefeather is slipping different herbs into his food, making Stormtail weak at the heavy cost of eating WITH him, taking some damage too. It makes Goosefeather unhealthy, but it hurts Stormtail much more.

With Stormtail in the elder's den with him, Goosefeather manages to sneak a Yew berry seed into a cuckoo they share. It kills Stormtail, and hurts Goosefeather so badly that no one suspects it. However, it would be the last thing he really got to do properly. As he slept, he began the mission that would destroy his own mind once and for all.

Protecting his sister and everyone else he loves, Goosefeather chases Stormtail away from Highstones. Every single night he chases him away, never allowing him to reach Starclan. Badgering him, if you will. It ruins his mind, seeing so many ghostly cats all around him each night, never truly resting...

It kills Goosefeather, in the end. But when he joins Starclan, he makes sure that Stormtail never does. And makes VERY sure that Stormtail's spirit is left behind when Starclan leaves the Forest.

Alright so you’re telling me that Frostfur’s canon description is a white she-cat with blue eyes, which is also the canon description of Snowfur, the late sister of Bluefur, who was Frostfur’s mentor, and that Frostfur was given the -fur suffix which her mentor and also her mentor’s late sister share, and there was like. Never anything about that???

There was no inner turmoil with Bluefur over teaching and watching this young cat grow up who reminds her just a little bit of the sister she lost and she struggles with wanting to shut down to avoid the pain but knowing it’s her duty as a mentor to give Frostpaw a good start in life?? Absolutely nothing about the two learning to work together as mentor and apprentice and forming a bond so that when Frostfur does receive her warrior name it’s symbolic of Frostfur becoming part of Bluefur’s chosen family and Bluefur learning that the cats she loves are not dead and gone, but all around her in Thunderclan????

Also, also.. NOTHING at all about the fact that Frostpaw’s sister, Brindlepaw, was mentored by Bluefur’s mostly absent father Stormtail and the two of them having to interact while training their apprentices together!!!??!! No confrontations about Stormtail’s behaviour?! No struggling to set aside your resentment and/or awkward feelings for the sake of your apprentice?? the conflict to drive the plot was RIGHT THERE fellas.......

who has the answers, if not us?

lambpaw has a frightening realization and thinks back on last night's events.

i LOVE how that bottom panel turned out- it was so much fun to do!

i was especially excited to begin shedding light on the events leading up to the beginning of the comic. if any of you have wondered why it begins so abruptly... there's a reason i decided to start it the way i did, and it'll begin making sense soon.

revisiting the Moonshell was also very exciting, since i've only shown it a couple of times! (chapter 1:pages 2&3) i feel like my backgrounds have improved a ton since then! the first chapter was very experimental for me, as i was still figuring out how i wanted my comic to look- but i think i've finally got it figured out!!

lastly: this page was originally going to be a LOT different, but i decided last minute to change it. i felt that the pacing was off, and the transition between events felt very "clunky". i think it's a massive improvement! BUT.... this means that i'm adding three new pages after this one... pages that i had to start from scratch last night.

for this reason (and a few others), i won't be posting a page this thursday. i want to give you all the highest quality pages & story that i can, and i'm afraid i wont be able to do that in just a couple days. page 9 will be posted this saturday, and then i will resume the regular posting schedule next tuesday. i hope you all understand!

i totally, one hundred percent, fully honestly believe that the only acceptable abusers to the warrior cats fandom are the female characters that are abusive and the male characters aren’t like i cant even begin to describe the way this fandom bends over backwards to uplift male characters just so they can tear down a female one. like what was with calling appledusk, the known canon cheater who only rejected mapleshade when it suited him, a great father and making up au’s where mapleshade was terrible to him?? what’s with people constantly making these sad posts about spiderleg and constantly using the excuse about his poor, wittle littermates dying (did he even have a reaction to their death?), what’s with no one hating stormtail?? what’s with people constantly shoving the “nightcloud clawed crowfeather scene” in everyone’s face but turning a blind eye to the way he hit his son on the ear in one scene and was never shown to be vocally / physically kind to him… ever… until his super edition?? why do people always make up terrible headcanons about her so that it matched the mental image they have of her?? EX: saying she is a helicopter parent (only mentioned in a field guide that little of the fandom actually read and most of the stuff in that book isn’t even canon anymore) or treats breezepelt like her therapist, or was controlling over crowfeather. why is it that absent fathers are always given the benefit of the doubt but if a mother says something wrong like curlfeather (she didn’t say anything wrong actually people just love to hate moms) they’re hated on so harshly?? what is with this fandom and constantly infantilizing the male characters?? why don’t people ever give lizardstripe the benefit of the doubt for having to raise a kit she didn’t want to raise?? why doesn’t curlfeather’s actions get chalked up as ‘bad writing’ like every male character does?? why is sparkpelt dragged through the mud for not connecting with her children for only a month when characters like crowfeather, spiderleg, stormtail, and so many other male characters who NEVER bond with their children (unlike sparkpelt, who did.) are just… not hated?? bramblestar is literally the ONLY male character i have seen get the appropriate amount of hate for but why is he the only one?? why does this fandom always gets so close to loosing their internalized misogyny ways only to never follow through with it?
