If your account isn’t a safe space for Mspec Lesbians, Lesboys, Mspec Gays, Turigirls, Straight Lesbians, Straight Gays, Cis Trans folks, AFAB TransFems, AMAB TransMascs, Mspec Straights, etc. then don’t call it a “LGBTQIA+ safe space”.

love, there’s no such thing as a “bi lesbian.” someone can’t be bi and a lesbian. Coming from a lesbian myself it just doesn’t happen that way. Being a bisexual means that you like BOTH, being a lesbian means you ONLY like non men. It’s a mockery of real lesbians, it’s not a real sexuality.
Let’s take this apart separately, shall we?
“There’s no such thing as a Bi Lesbian”
Tell that to all the Bi Lesbians that follow me, and like my posts, and request for posts.
Tell that to the Bi Lesbians I reblog from and talk to occasionally.
Tell that to the older queers that identify as Bi Lesbians.
I guess apparently they don’t exist then. 🤷
“Someone can’t be Bi and a Lesbian”
Ah, this is a very popular one on this blog that I keep getting. I could link you to those, but I won’t. Here’s some ways you can be Bi and a Lesbian at the same time:
Biromantic Homosexuals
Homoromantic Bisexuals
Bi people who label themselves as Lesbians, to reclaim queer history. Because ALL Sapphics, regardless of if they were attracted to men or not, were referred to as Lesbians.
Bi people may also label themselves as Lesbians to reclaim being called a Lesbian by Biphobes trying to get them to pick one.
Bi people who lean more towards women, may call themselves Bi Lesbians.
Abroromantics/Abrosexuals may label themselves as Bi Lesbians because their orientation only swings back and forth between those two.
“Coming from a Lesbian myself, it just doesn’t happen that way.”
Well, for the second part, “It doesn’t happen that way”, just go back to the previous comments on “Someone can’t be Bi and a Lesbian”. It does and can happen.
Now for the first part “Coming from a Lesbian myself”. I hear this a lot. Not just from Lesbians, not just from queer people, but people of all different communities, one thing I hear all the time is “Coming from a [Blank] myself”. You need to understand that you are not the only Lesbian on earth. And Lesbians are not a hive-mind. You’re not all the same, and you’re not all going to have the same opinions. If that were the case, all Lesbians would look, talk, act the same way, and have the same views. But you don’t, because you’re not a hive-mind. Simply implying that all people of the same sexuality should have the same opinions is wrong. Believe it or not, I’ve seen all different kinds of lesbians who were Pro-Mspec Lesbian, who were Anti-Mspec Lesbian, and were neutral on Mspec Lesbians. And if all Lesbians had the same opinions, you would not be separated on these different opinions.
“Being a bisexual means that you like BOTH, being a lesbian means you ONLY like non men.”
Being Bi means that you could just about like any gender. It doesn’t just mean both, as in men and women. Bi people could definitely just be attracted to women and men, but they’re also Bi people attracted to all different kinds of genders under the Nonbinary umbrella.
As for being a Lesbian, it means that you’re attracted to women and Nonbinary people. And if we can agree on that, we also have to agree that there are other Nonbinary genders where one identifies as a woman AND a man, that you may also be attracted to. Saying that Lesbians don’t like men excludes Multigender people. Even if that’s not how you mean for it to sound, I can tell you that a lot of Multigender people feel that way.
Also, a common misconception is that Non-Men and Non-Women is okay to use for Gay and Lesbian definitions. It’s not. What you probably didn’t know, is that the terms have racist origins. Black and indigenous queer people have literally been talking about this since this definition was coined. “Non-Men” and “Non-Women” are terms that have been historically used to describe the degendering of black people.
Forcing these terms for queer definitions is Anti-Black, I could forgive you if you didn’t know that and stop using those definitions after now knowing the origins.
But if you still use these definitions even after knowing this, congratulations! You’re racist! Pretty sure there was a book about this, “Bad faith and anti-black racism” by Lewis R. Gordon.
“It’s a mockery of real lesbians, it’s not a real sexuality.”
Mspecs have just as big a part in Lesbian history as Lesbians.
All sapphics were Lesbians regardless of if they liked men.
The term “Bi Lesbian” has been around since the 70s. I’d like to see you try and tell an older queer Bi Lesbian, that they’re “mocking” Lesbians and that their sexuality isn’t real. They probably accomplished more than you have in your entire life, because you want to fight with people on queer labels that you think are and aren’t valid because apparently no queer identity is acceptable unless you agree with it.
Love, wether you like it or not, Bi Lesbians and even male Lesbians have always existed and will continue existing. And they don’t need your permission to be themselves.

SLEDERIC
A term to describe individuals who are attracted to men in both a queer or gay way and a non-queer or gay way. This can be for any reason; including being multigender, non-binary or genderfluid, having a fluid sexuality, etc. A counterpart to Strelian.
I did not technically coin this term. It was coined by the original coiner of Strelian. They had mentioned coining this at some point in the coining post of its counterpart. However, they have since left the community and their blogs have been archived. From what I can see, they never made a post for this term, but they gave it a name and a simple description.
According to the coiner, Strelian was made as an alternative for the term Straight Lesbian with a clearer yet similar meaning. I'm assuming Slederic is supposed to be the same but for Straight Gay/Veldian/Vincian/etc.
For all extensive purposes, this is just a flag for the term and if they at some point return to the MOGAI or LIOM communities, they have the full right to make a post of their own with their own flag. Strelian just really resonated with me and I really wanted to have a flag for this term to throw into my hoard.
If the original coiner sees this and prefers I take this post down, I'll do it no questions asked.
IMAGE ID: A rectangle flag with six horizontal stripes. In descending order, the stripe colors are purple, light lilac, white, dull mint green, teal and blue. END ID

i have a new orientation term id like to coin.
nightmare queer- where you take pride in having a contradictory or confusing label, such as bi lesbian, straight gay, alloaro, neopronoun only users, xenogender, ect. anything that cishets would deem "too confusing."
I don't have a flag yet. anyone is free to make one
pro non traumagenic systems dni or use. PRO RADQUEERS DNI OR USE.
edit: i made a mockup of what i think the flag should look like, put under the cut bc its very crude and could be eyestrain-y
meanings:
red - sacrifice
black - nightmares
gray - confusion
white - inclusivity
pink - pride
here's the mockup

maybe it's just me, but i feel like conflicting and obscure labels are actually pretty understandable if you just think for a second.
if someone's a straight lesbian, they are either multigender/bigender and are attracted to women regardless, or are heteroromamtic homosexual (or vice versa). of course, there can be more options as well, and it's so easy to just... ask! they'd probaby be happy to tell you. if not, just don't worry about it, because it's probably none of your business anyway.
same thing with mspec gay men/lesbians, xenogender folks, neopronouns users, almost anyone. it's not that hard to reach out and offer kindness instead of immediate disgust and rejection. we're a queer community, and the last thing we need is to fall to infighting.

Survey Results: Orientation
Orientation data
Participants were provided with the following options for their sexual/romantic orientation and were allowed to select more than one.
Lesbian (358 participants, 24.25%)
Gay (402 participants, 27.24%)
Straight (55 participants, 3.73%)
Aromantic (341 participants, 23.10%)
Aromantic spectrum (444 participants, 30.08%)
Asexual (339 participants, 22.97%)
Asexual spectrum (459 participants, 31.10%)
Bisexual (599 participants, 40.58%)
Pansexual (241 participants, 16.33%)
Abrosexual (97 participants, 6.57%)
Polysexual (64 participants, 4.34%)
Omnisexual (107 participants, 7.25%)
Questioning (104 participants, 7.05%)
Queer (724 participants, 49.05%)
The added category of “mspec” includes participants who identified as bisexual, pansexual, polysexual, and/or omnisexual. 828 participants were mspec (56.10%).
Orientation combinations
Because this section is looking at the gender(s) that participants were attracted to, asexuality and aromanticism are not mentioned in this section. There is a later section focused on aromantic, asexual, aromantic spectrum, and asexual spectrum identities.
Of the 55 straight participants, 27 (49.09%) also identified as a lesbian, and 27 also identified as gay. 25 (44.64%) identified as mspec, and 14 (25.45%) only identified as straight.
Of the 358 lesbian participants, 168 (46.93%) also identified as gay and 27 (7.54%) also identified as straight. 173 (48.32%) identified as mspec, and 112 (31.28%) only identified as lesbian.
Of the 402 gay participants, 168 (41.79%) also identified as lesbian and 27 (6.72%) also identified as straight. 225 (55.97%) identified as mspec and 106 (26.37%) only identified as gay.
Of the 828 mspec participants, 225 (27.17%) also identified as gay and 173 (20.89%) also identified as lesbian. 25 (3.02%) identified as straight. Within each subcategory of mspec identities (bi, pan, poly, and omni), more participants identified as gay than as lesbian, and more participants identified as lesbian than as straight.
A common argument claims that mspec people more commonly identify as lesbian than as gay, supposedly supporting the idea that mspec lesbian identity is specifically lesbophobic. This data indicates that this argument is untrue.
Interestingly, for all of these combination identities (mspec lesbian, straight gay, gay lesbian, etc), many participants selected the combined identities on a later question, but did not select each individual identity on this question. For example, 215 participants identified as a gay lesbian, but only 168 participants selected both “gay” and “lesbian.”
Orientation and gender
Lesbian participants were almost equally as likely to identify as male than participants overall (63.13% of lesbian participants compared to 64.63% of total participants). However, they were significantly more likely to identify as female than participants overall (55.87% of lesbians compared to 44.04% of total participants). This indicates that whether someone identifies as female factors more into their lesbian identity than whether they identify as male.
Gay participants were significantly more likely to identify as male than participants overall (79.85% of gay participants compared to 64.63% of total participants), and significantly less likely to identify as female (38.31% of gay participants compared to 44.04% of total participants).
Straight participants were significantly more likely than participants overall to identify as male (90.91% of straight participants compared to 64.63% of total participants) and as female (74.55% of straight participants compared to 44.04% of total participants). They were significantly less likely than participants overall to identify as neither male nor female (1.82% of straight participants compared to 27.37% of total participants).
Participants who identified as both male and female were significantly more likely than participants overall to identify as lesbian (30.98% of participants who were both male and female compared to 24.25% of total participants), as straight (7.07% of participants who were both male and female compared to 3.73% of total participants), and as mspec (62.91% of participants who were both male and female compared to 56.10% of total participants). They were almost equally as likely to identify as gay than participants overall (27.72% of participants who were both male and female compared to 27.24% of total participants).
Participants who identified as neither male nor female were significantly less likely than participants overall to identify as gay (17.82% of participants who were neither male nor female, compared to 27.24% of total participants). They were also significantly less likely than participants overall to identify as straight (0.25% of participants who were neither male nor female, compared to 3.73% of total participants).
Aspec identities
There were 785 participants (53.18%) who identified as aromantic or on the aromantic spectrum (arospec), and 798 (54.07%) participants who identified as asexual or on the asexual spectrum (acespec). 996 participants (67.48%) identified as aromantic, asexual, arospec, and/or acespec. 200 participants (13.55%) identified as both aromantic and asexual.
Of aromantic and arospec participants…
341 (43.44%) identified as aromantic
444 (56.56%) identified as elsewhere on the aromantic spectrum
91 participants (11.59%) identified as aromantic and allosexual
50 (6.37%) identified as aromantic and acespec
200 (25.48%) identified as as aromantic and asexual.
107 (13.63%) identified as arospec and allosexual.
263 (33.50%) identified as arospec and acespec.
74 (9.43%) identified as arospec and asexual.

A Bi Lesbian can be someone who is:
1. Biromantic Homosexual
2. Homoromantic Bisexual
3. It can be someone who fits under a Bi definition, but labels themselves as a Lesbian. (One of the many reasons for this is because all sapphics used to be called Lesbians.
4. An Abroromantic/Abrosexual whose identity constantly switches back and forth between being Bi and being a Lesbian.
So, yes, it is entirely possible to be both Bi and a Lesbian.
You calling me homophobic when the whole point of homophobia is to be someone who dislikes ANY and ALL queer people is ironic, because it awfully sounds like YOU’RE the one who’s homophobic.
Bashing on ANY queer identity, even the ones you don’t like, is homophobia. Exclusionists and gatekeepers don’t belong in the LGBTQIA+ Community.
In your tags you also said “LGB drop the T”, so it looks like you’re really living up to you being exclusionary. One of the first people who ended up giving us Pride Month was Marsha P. Johnson who was a Trans rights activist.
You also implied that I was straight in the tags, like it or not, but there are other queer people that are allies to Mspec Lesbians not including Mspec Lesbians.
And the term “Bi Lesbian” has been around since the 90s and maybe even longer than that.
Also comparing Queer identities that you don’t like to Nazi’s and KKK is gross. Because you sound like the same people who compare queer people to pedophiles or zoophiles.
Mspec Lesbians people are not pushing out Lesbians and Bi people, they’re trying to find a place in this community to fit in. JUST like how queer people tried to do with straight people. All queer identities INCLUDING ones that you don’t like is homophobia, and it doesn’t make you any better than straight homophobes just because you’re also queer. This community started as ALL queer people loving ALL queer people. Exclusionary is so stupid and defeats one of the most important reasons on why Pride exists. Because Queer people are supposed to support each other.
To deconstruct gender, you must also deconstruct sexuality.
