Agender Luffy being like a dress up doll for the strawhats
One day Nami was bored and she bribed luffy with meat to let her dress him up
She ended up putting him in a casual red sundress (I know nothing about dresses I hope Google hasn't wronged me with the dress type) and she had expected to need to bribe them more but to her surprise Luffy just put it on without complaint
The rest of the crew was definitely a bit surprised to see their captain running around in a dress but they quickly realized Nami was behind it and they mostly ignored it, some of them complemented his dress though
It's very important to me to point out that luffy definitely tried to use his dress as a parachute multiple times
Sanji also dresses Luffy up sometimes in suits and has tried and failed numerous times to teach him to tie a tie
Robin would also join in on this buying some more out there outfits that stand out a bit more and Luffy definitely enjoys her outfits cause he thinks they're weird and funny
I've been thinking of an idea for this with Franky for a while now, you know Scarlet overkill and her cool dresses? Franky would make Luffy something similar and make him a dress that could actually be used as a parachute chopper would want one too
I think chopper would see everyone else dressing Luffy up and he'd want to try so he often picks out outfits for them
Luffy really only complains when the clothes are uncomfortable and for the most part is willing to wear anything, sometimes he'll even ask to be dressed up no bribe needed

After the death of his son, the head of the Dupont family wants his daughter protected. He moved her to Monaco, the safe zone, and has her protected by Charles Leclerc. READ PLS: hello my lovelies!! So, if you're here from the first part, pls either reread or take note that I have removed all connection to the bianchi family -- the brother is called Louis and the last name is Dupont
Tumblr media
Max returned to that spot time and time again. He drove past the café almost every day for his first week in Monaco. Sometimes his angel was there, sometimes she wasn't.
This time, though, when Max drove past, she was there. Sitting in the café with a fruity smoothie in front of her, wearing another sun dress. This time it was green, the skirt slightly shorter and little white flowers decorating it.
Max parked up around the corner. He straightened his tie and climbed out of his car. Always dressed in a suit just in case anybody needed him. Just in case his father called him back to work.
He walked past her, paying no mind as he stepped through the café doors. But then he stepped back, something between a smirk and a smile on his face as he walked towards her.
"Hi," he said, his hand on the back of the chair opposite her own. "Can I ask what you ordered? I'm hoping to get something sweet."
She knew not to talk to strangers. Even before the death of her brother, she had been taught how much danger she was in at all times. Normally Charles would be here to take care of it, to glare a the stranger until they moved away.
But Charles wasn't here. This is what she got for sneaking out.
Thank God this guy was cute. That shouldn't have been a reason to answer him, but she did. She held up her plastic cup and shook it slightly, answering him. "Strawberry banana," she said and put the straw to her lips. Max watched as the pink liquid moved up the straw. "It's incredibly sweet."
Max couldn't stop his smile from widening. He leaned against the chair in front of him now, not just resting his hands on it. "Is it as sweet as you?"
Oh, he was flirting with her.
She couldn't hide her embarrassment. Every time a mad had tried to flirt with her before, Charles had shut them down and scared them off.
But this man, well Charles wasn't there to scare him off. For the first time in her life a man was openly flirting with her. He was flirting with her and it was making het all bashful. And maybe a little bit shy.
He held his large hand out towards her. She couldn't help but take notice of the watch on his wrist. It was no doubt expensive, but that wasn't a surprise, considering where they were. "I'm Max," he said, keeping his hand stretched out.
She took it, but her grip was loose as she told him her name. "But everybody calls me Bunny."
"Bunny," he responded, listening to the way it rolled off of his tongue. He liked it, liked how it sounded. But, if everybody called her Bunny, Max needed something else. He looked at her, really looked at her. Looked at the way her hair fell around her shoulders, the way her fingers, nails painted to match her dress, wrapped around her plastic cups. Looked at the way her pink lips wrapped around her straw. "Angel. I think it's more fitting."
Before Max could say anything further, his phone beeped. Saving her, he couldn't help but think. "Well, Angel, I have to go," he said, standing up straight. "Can I see you again?"
She smiled as she nodded. "You know where to find me," she said and sipped the rest of her drink.
Max looked at her once more and walked away, down the street and back to his car. For the last week Max had been waiting for his father to call him back to work and, now that he had, he didn't want to leave.
Max disappeared and she was alone. She sipped her smoothie and returned to her small sketchbook, pencil moving against the page.
Suddenly, somebody slipped into the seat opposite her. She looked up, hoping it was Max, returning to flirt with her some more. But she was met with disappointment.
"Oh, Arthur," she said when she looked at the youngest Leclerc brother. "Am I in trouble?"
Arthur let out a small laugh and furrowed her brows at her. "You sneak out too often to get into trouble, Bun," he replied as he looked around.
"Not because I spoke to that guy?" She asked innocently.
But Arthur's face dropped. He may have been younger than her, but he was still tasked with keeping her safe. "Do you remember what this guy looked like, Bunny?" He asked as he grabbed her sketchbook and pulled her from her chair.
She nodded her head as Arthur led her down the street. "He was cute," she said and let out a little laugh.
But Arthur wasn't laughing as he looked around the streets. "You know that's not what I meant," he replied as he led her into her apartment building. "You know you're not meant to talk to strangers."
He dragged her up the stairs and pulled her into her apartment. Arthur immediately sat her down and checked every crevice of the apartment. He grabbed the knife from the kitchen and checked inside of the bedroom.
Nothing, her apartment was clear.
"Fucking hell, Bunny," Arthur spat. "You had me terrified."
She pouted as she fiddled with her fingers. "He was flirting with me, 'thur. I think he really thought I was cute," she mumbled and laid herself down on the sofa, pulling her legs into her chest.
Arthur released a breath from his nose as he looked down at her. "Of course he did, Bunny," he whispered and ran his fingers through her hair. "It's just... Charles and I don't know this person. We don't know if they can be trusted.”
She didn't reply.
Eventually Charles came to her apartment. When he let himself in, Arthur retreated to the kitchen. To 'make dinner', he had said. (But, something you should know about the Leclerc brothers is that neither of them could cook very well. Arthur stopped by his mothers every night for dinner and Charles wouldn't eat unless Bunny cooked for him).
The first thing Charles did was stride over to her. He sat on the end of the couch and looked down at her. "I'm not mad you snuck out," he said. Which, although it sounded like it, it wasn't a good sign. If it wasn't because of the sneaking out, he was mad about something else.
She didn't look at him, instead staring at her coffee table. There was a light layer on dust on it, and she made a mental note to clean it later. After this stupid conversation.
"But, Bunny, I need you to tell me who this guy is. Did he give you a name? Any indication of who she was?"
She'd made the mistake of telling Arthur something, she wasn't going to do it again. She tried her best to shrug her shoulders from the position she was sitting in, but it didn't much work. "He just asked what flavour my smoothie was," she said and sat up slightly.
She couldn't tell if Charles believed her or not. He simply let out a sigh and patted her leg. "Wanna get take out?" He asked softly. "We can kick Arthur out, share Chinese food and watch a movie. How does that sound, Bun?"
Her arms were folded over her chest as she sat up and looked at him. "Are you paying for it?" She asked through a pout.
"Yeah, Bun, I'll pay for it," he said and went to the kitchen to grab the menus. At the same time he kicked Arthur out of the apartment (grateful that he hadn't started cooking any sort of monstrosity yet).
Charles knew exactly what he was going to be ordering, but he still handed her the menu. She asked for the same thing every time, and this time was no different. He was on the phone, ordering food within minutes.
He couldn't concentrate on much through the movie. Charles watched her, but he couldn't help but think of some faceless stranger, snatching her in the middle of the night.
He'd let her get away with sneaking out, even if he hadn't meant to. But not again. There was no way Charles was going to let her out of his sight now.

Also just to talk about reads in House MD specifically, jumping off this post of mine
TLDR, multiple perspectives is one of my favorite things.
Bi!Wilson is a great hc. The man so hopelessly in love with his boy best friend but so entrenched in comphet or socially isolated he never realizes he’s emotionally unavailable for all the women he dates? And then he manages to find Amber and he actually likes her and is into her?? But House loves him so much he’s willing to risk his life for Wilson’s happiness??? *incoherent white noise*
Gay!Wilson is near and dear to my heart, because media—fandom included—doesn’t engage with comphet enough. It’s always “so and so must have been bi, because they had a genuine connection with someone Not Within Their Sexuality.” I don’t know how to effectively explain it, but mistaking a platonic bond for something romantic-sexual is so common with comphet. And we need more representation of it so people can start to more easily understand and recognize it. And for Wilson, it ties into *wild* themes about social expectations and struggling to understand yourself which also make my brain go *white noise* (If that’s not your cup of tea / doesn’t ring true to you, I get it. I’d read your fic! I just think it’s such an incredibly valuable one to have in the mix.)
And that’s all to say nothing of the complexities that start to spring up with gender hc’s!
Plus, PPTH polycule? Also a delightful read. The deliberate comparisons between House’s relationship with Wilson vs. Cuddy being pulled out to create a read with an OT3? Heck yeah!!
The one sexuality read for Wilson that I don’t really see in terms of media analysis is het!Wilson. Yes, you can make the argument that he and House are platonic soulmates. That doesn’t account for all the romantic (longing glances, narrative framing that compares Hilson to a romantic relationship, the joke flirting) and sexual (the straw, the cigars, sharing underwear, joking about thinking about each other during sex) overtones that permeate the entire show. But even still I’d be down to hear why that read means something to someone. I bet it does!
And that’s just for one tiny area. I never would’ve realized, for example, all the religious imagery around Chase and BOY is there A Lot!!
What other people bring, or multifaceted takes, on the same original work is one of my favorite things in the whole world.

tomgreg internalized homophobia theory
I've been thinking a lot about how tomgreg seems stuck in a rut this season; greg getting excited about something and tom dismissing him like it's season one all over again.
I'm hoping this is intentional; that the writers are going for some kind of commentary on the difficulty of breaking the cycle of internalized/inter-generational homophobia.
in any case, there seems to be a recurring pattern in tom/greg's relationship of tom saying something homoerotic, then backtracking to protect his 'straightness.'
the most egregious example being, of course, when tom asks greg to kiss him, only to violently rip the meaning away in a bro-y, bravado-y display of 'no homo' (i.e., "I'm joking").
the same with 'i'd castrate you and mary you in a heartbeat.' there's sincerity in tom's face when he says it, but when greg doesn't say anything back? he rips the meaning away again, re-asserting his 'cis-hetness' by asking greg to "wrestle him to the ground."
looking back, greg seems pretty passive about tom's advances in s1 - 3. or more curious, than anything else (e.g., "are you trying to seduce me, tom?").
this season, i think it's the first time we're seeing greg actually reciprocate or even initiate that energy -- what if it's not the newfound 'confidence' making tom uncomfortable, but the homo-eroticism?
greg sneaking up on him at parties, teasing him about their sexual escapades, supporting him emotionally, getting jealous of his other assistants, making dick jokes, etc.
it seems like tom's dismissal of these advances isn't about greg at all, but a knee-jerk reaction to queerness itself; a familiar habit of 'shutting that shit down' to maintain the façade of straightness.
and the more overtly 'queer' greg acts, the more triggered and dismissive tom becomes.
the mention of greg's gay dad in 04x01 sets up s4 even more to explore this theme; perhaps greg has/is struggling with his own flavor over internalized homophobia, too.
i don't want to grasp at straws here, justifying what's ultimately an unsatisfying dynamic with tomgreg this season by claiming there's some deeper meaning, but i'm trying to be as gracious with the writers as possible.
it's just so hard for me to imagine them setting up an overt parallel to 'nero and sporus' (gay?) for them to go back to 'yep tom and greg super straight yep yep yep' like they forgot or something.

So seeing as the trailer is finally out and one of my more frequently revisited posts is about this movie let's talk the trailer. Now these are off the cuff barely put together ramblings with like an hour to think on it so don't take this as a final verdict or my hardest stance ever.
The Good
- It looks generally alright. There is some clear signs someone was flipping through the art book for the War For Cybertron games when designing a lot of this stuff. As well I'm interested to see how the 'surface' is seeming to be overgrown with plant life and the like.
- Alpha Trion and some sort of grave, of the other 13?, shows up and seems like they are going with the G1 style of him making Optimus and Elita into their present selves, just adding Megatron and Bumblebee there.
- Elita One even getting to be a major player is pretty neat. Really a rise to prominence from a time when I think people didn't even know female characters existed before Arcee.
- Also Quintessons seeming to be an oppressive class enslaving the Cybertronians is another good G1 call back.
- Also having both Orion and M-16 start as workers is nice since it means you can't accuse Optimus of not knowing just how bad the system was when he opposes Megatron going full Peace Through Tyranny.
The Bad
- The dialogue, like you know it, I know it, and everyone else knows it. Now to start not saying Transformers can't be goofy or funny, '80s film everyone has a dance party to Weird Al and fandom loves the hell out of that movie. But that felt more organic to G1s general sillier side versus this where it feels the writers looked up a bunch of posts satirizing later stage MCU diaologue and thought "yes let's do that".
- Bumblebee being there, since seems he is just being shoved in as comic relief and cause marketers love Bumblebee versus a fourth main character being needed for this story.
The Fear
This is more speculation on from what the trailer presents could be bad about the film but I can't say 100% from the trailer.
- Elita One being in the movie being reduced to other three main characters are going to spend parts of the movie having the hots for her or the plot being configured into any kind of terrible love shape. (I will barely accept a love triangle with Orion and M-16 if those two are also onto each other. Transformers made enough strides in LGBT rep to not back slide into the worst of Het writing now.)
- Bonus negative points if Elita One getting hurt or dying is used as the final straw for Optimus and Megatron's relationship breaking apart.
- The reveal of the names Optimus Prime, Megatron, and Elita One not being allowed to be good moments and instead get ruined by shitty jokes (Like how the RWBY/Justice League film had to constantly make jokes about Superman being called Superman. I get it writers are so above silly naming schemes like that in the 2020s now, but just shut up)
- Speaking or other things that are atrocious I'm worried this movie is going to pull a Devil May Cry reboot and just have Megatron swerve into "I wanna be Big Dick Dictator of the Galaxy" two seconds after they beat the Quintessons like how Fedora!Vergil went "I'm actually evil and we should now in some vague way rule the world Dante" right after the 'Kingpin From Marvel but turned into a giant made of buildings' boss fight. So no time will be given to the deteriorating state of Orptimus' and Megatron's relationship before hand. That or they sequel bait the downfall and we have to cross our fingers it was good enough to get a sequel.
- The Quintessons will have their menace damaged by bad pot shot jokes/references to the original animated movie.
- We spend all movie with MCU quips Bumblebee but Starscream never shows up.
The Hope
But that is all nerves and speculation as so far I've just seen a single trailer. So what about positive possibilities.
- The major one is the trailer is just cut by brainless add executives and a lot of the worst quips are either not in the movie or there is way more good dialogue and the stuff in the trailer was all of it.
- They actually do give some other members of the Decepticons appearances and completing backstories of their own.
- Optimus and Megatron are in unambiguous romantic love before the big break up.
- They do some really interesting stuff with the lore based on some of that cool environmental design. Perhaps a more interesting version of Megatronus for Megatron to be inspired by?
- Lastly this film just needs to clear the low bar set by most of the Bay Films to not be bad at this point. And I highly doubt this movie can do anything to hit the "Your Racist Uncle" level of some Revenge of the Fallen scenes or "Mmm I sure do love high school girls" level of the first one and especially Age of Extinction scenes.

Heyyyyyy, sooo I was thinking bout being Mike's older sister, and dating eddie secretly, but then, Ed has to mention his girlfriend( they still dont know who it is, just that he has one),but none of the hellfire boys believe him and then one night, in a make out sesh on his throne, the boys come in the room,( eddie "forgot"😉 it was DnD night) and Mike is just like, shooketh and it's really funny, sorry if it's too precise or detailed
I was away for the weekend and hardly had time to write. But, As soon as I saw this request I fell in love with it and started writing it right away. It took me some time to get done bcs adult life sucks, and this kinda turned out longer than expected 🤡 but that shouldn’t come as a surprise at this point. This also turned out fluffier than expected, I wanted this to be funny but it turned out to be more soft and fluffy… with some funny parts ofc.
Im also implying that the design of the Hellfire shirt was made by the reader.
Got To Be Real — e.m.
Eddie Munson x Wheeler!Reader
Title based off N.I.B. by Black Sabbath
Word count: 3.6K
Warnings: None that I can think of. Mentions of the reader having an active sex life, I guess?

Mike unfolded the new shirt Eddie had thrown at them. Giving a new shirt to each and every one of the members of the Hellfire Club, making sure he handed the right size at everyone. Dustin chuckled next to Mike as Mike admired the details, the D20, a sword in fire, the logo, it all looked pretty badass, Mike thought.
“Oh shit, Eddie, these new shirts are amazing. Where did you get them?” Dustin asked as Mike wasted no time and put it on over the Star Wars shirt he was wearing.
“Oh, my girlfriend does screen printing” Eddie replied.
Dustin laughed again, this time differently, as Mike’s eyebrows knitted together in confusion and looked up, meeting Eddie’s dark eyes incredulously. Girlfriend?
“Whoa, whoa, your what now?”
“My girlfriend, Henderson” Eddie said in a sassy voice.
“Yeah right”
“You don’t believe me?” He asked, his voice growing more serious, as the look in his eyes changed quickly.
“I me-mean, I rarely see you talk to girls, you know, you intimidate most people…and screen printing is such an odd hobby…” Dustin said, justifying himself with a nervous giggle as he tried to reach at straws for whatever could help him from seeing Eddie’s wrath.
“My sister does screen printing” Mike said, looking at Dustin.
“Your sister is an art student…” Dustin blurted out “Besides, she’s living in Indianapolis, she’s not dating Eddie”
Eddie frowned, his look only growing more and more serious and colder, looking at Dustin, as if he wasn’t making any sense.
“I mean, yeah…She’s been acting odd ever since she started college, I think she might be dating someone, though…but every time I ask she refuses to tell me” Mike added, making Eddie chuckle and look away, rolling his eyes annoyed.
“She’s dating some dude from college…” Dustin stated as if it were obvious.
"Are you done chit chatting, kids?" Eddie interrupted bitterly.
"How’s your girlfriend called, then, Eddie…" Dustin asked with a defying look.
Eddie chuckled.
"That’s none of your goddamn business, Henderson" Eddie growled.
"Because she isn’t real" Dustin intervened.
Mike hit Dustin on the ribs with his elbow, as Dustin flinched and whined. Mike giving him a look with wide scared eyes, hoping that Dustin would het the message that he was pissing Eddie off. However, Dustin raised his eyebrows confused and shrugged, making Mike sigh and roll his eyes.
"Can I level with you?" Eddie's voice suddenly sounded calm "Assuming my girlfriend was imaginary, then why would I bother lying to you about where I got the shirts?" He asked.
"Good question," Dustin said, "But I still think it’s odd we’ve never seen you with a girl before, and you don’t tell us her what name is—"
"Henderson," Eddie cut him off with a serious low growl.
"Yes?"
"Give me back that shirt"
"Wha-what?" Dustin laughed uncomfortably "C’mon Ed…I-I’m kidding. This shirt is very cool, and your girlfriend is very talented. Tell her I said these are amazing…" Dustin mumbled nervously, as he clung to his shirt
"That's what I thought" Eddie said.
The last Friday of every month was Hellfire Club Friday. The last Friday of every month, they knew they couldn’t make any plans, as they were going to spend the entire afternoon playing D&D. However, you had forgotten that little detail.
Every time you returned to Hawkins, you usually spent the Friday nights and Sunday mornings with your family before driving back to Indianapolis. And the entirety of your Saturday with your boyfriend, Eddie. And you knew Eddie usually held campaigns on Fridays, but it was hard to track when exactly, and you knew he liked to take his time carefully planning everything, going over his notes from previous campaigns. You admired his dedication to his craft.
This, as well as his creativity, among many other things were what made you fall in love with him. Four years of high school, getting together every once in a while to play D&D, even though you two belonged to different social groups, you still got along pretty well. And slowly fell for each other over the course of your high school years, and started going out on dates in your last semester.
And while Eddie didn't get to graduate with you, that didn't stop him from asking you to be his girlfriend. And moving to Indianapolis for college did not stop you from saying yes.
And for two long years, you'd manage to keep your relationship afloat and going strong. While the both of you wished you could see each other daily as opposed to a few times a month, you made up for it by calling each other on a daily basis.
And during your last phone call, Eddie sounded particularly needy and whiny, begging you over and over again to go see him on Friday after school.
And saying no to him required a whole deal of effort. And yet, you couldn't bring yourself to say no to him. You left Indianapolis earlier than you usually did, to get to see your boyfriend for a while before your usual expected arrival at your parent's home.
Needy was an understatement. Eddie was sitting on his throne, with you straddling him. His lips attached to yours, devouring and swallowing every sweet noise that came out of your mouth. A slow yet passionate kiss, telling you exactly how much he'd missed you.
His hands roaming underneath your shirt, as you knew this make out session was going to end up with the both of you hot and bothered, as you wouldn't be able to do much in there without drawing suspicions. That, and you were running out of time. But boy, was it nostalgic. Your first kiss looked something like this. It had started as a shy kiss with the Dungeon Master after the last campaign of your high school and him confessing his feelings for you.
However, Eddie had deliberately missed the little detail that today was Hellfire Friday, and everyone else was on their way to the classroom where Eddie was taking his time teasing you. Touching your soft spots, tasting your needy moans, and making sure you knew how much he missed you and how much he needed you, although he knew he’d have to wait until tomorrow to finally claim you as his once again. Right now it wasn’t about making love to you, it was about getting to fool around, and proving his point to the newest members of the Club who didn’t believe him when he said he had a girlfriend.
"Wait, she's back already?" Dustin asked Mike curiously as they turned left on the hall, making their way to the Hellfire Club.
"Yeah she said she finished this term earlier because she aced everything and doesn't have to show to her finals…" Mike explained, telling him how your summer holidays had basically started earlier this semester.
"Whoa, she's so cool!" Dustin sighed.
"I know, night? Anyways, I asked her if she could pick me up after the campaign tonight since Nance will be busy, and I doubt my dad wants to miss on his game on the TV to pick me up…" Mike said.
"Could she give me a ride back to my place?" Dustin wondered.
"Yeah, of course. She loves you," Mike added.
As they stopped in front of the door, they pushed the door open, unaware of what they were both about to see. As the door creaked open, the heard a soft moan, and quickly exchanged uncomfortable stares before Dustin finished pushing the door open. The door made a louder creaking noise, and the horror that soon took over their faces could not be compared to anything they’d ever seen.
"Oh, oh! What the fuck?!" Dustin yelled, realizing there was a girl sitting on Eddie’s lap.
"Shit, Eddie, next time could you—" Mike whined, as shocked as Dustin, however, his voice was cut off, and he felt his jaw fall to the ground, as he put the pieces together, paralyzed, shocked.
"Shit, fuck" You growled in a low voice as you recognized your little brother’s voice and looked the opposite direction, knowing it was useless, but still clinging to the teeny tiny chance of managing to go unnoticed or at least unidentified.
"Sis?" Mike’s voice freezing your blood.
You sighed deeply and exchanged stares with Eddie, noticing a little mischievous grin on his face as you squinted, thinking he was behind all of this. You then turned to look at your little brother, and uncomfortably waved at him. Not muttering a single word.
"You're dating my sister?"
"Eddie's your boyfriend?!"
Both Mike and Dustin spat, shocked and incredulous as they replayed the conversation they had regarding Eddie’s girlfriend, and thought about the chances of it being you and wondering how obvious it was. Screen printing was an odd hobby to have, but you did…and Eddie’s girlfriend did too. Now that Mike did the math, it was obvious that Eddie and you were classmates, on his first run of the senior year, you’d been acting odd for the last two years, not really talking about your boyfriend but making it clear that you had one, Ed never really engaging with other girls aside of short simple interactions. You two had similar tastes in music, you’d taught Mike and his friends to play D&D…now that Mike thought about it, it was more possible than he’d thought.
“ Did you plan this?" You hissed, squinting at Eddie.
"Maybe" He said, as you rolled your eyes and got off his lap, fixing your shirt and your skirt.
"I can't believe this" Dustin said.
"So, all the… marks I saw on your neck, Eddie…" Mike murmured, making Eddie laugh.
"Ew, no, Mike stop!" Dustin begged as you rolled your eyes and felt your face heating up, and besting your head in your hands.
"Gentlemen," Eddie said in a calm voice as you looked up from your hands and turned your gaze to meet his. "I'd like to present to you my beautiful, talented, incredibly smart, and very real girlfriend..."
"Real? Oh, Ed—" You groaned and chuckled softly "Yeah, I should've imagine Mike was going to join your D&D club, and I should’ve imagined they were not going to believe you have a girlfriend…" You said looking at Eddie as he shrugged.
"How are you two—" Mike asked baffled.
"Eddie and l actually met in this same club, we became close friends, and I don't know, shortly before I graduated, something happened between us and we started dating" You explained.
"But you moved to Indianapolis for college!" Mike snapped.
"Aw, that's actually cute" Dustin said, noticing they way Eddie rested his head against your chest and you brought a hand to his hair, as he held you close to him.
"Yeah, so? I still come here at least twice a month to see you guys, and also to see Eddie" You replied, as Eddie’s hand grabbed you by the waist and pulled you closer to his throne, wrapping his arm around your hips as you stood in front of his seat and he gave Mike a cheeky grin.
"You have any idea how hard it's to keep a long distance relationship, Wheeler?" Eddie asked.
"It's pretty hard..." Dustin said. Thinking of Susie.
"Mike's girlfriend moved to California..." You said softly, letting Eddie know.
"Why didn't you tell me?" Mike asked you.
"We'll talk about this later, Mike, I don't feel like doing this right now, in front of all of hellfire…" You said, as Dustin and Mike exchanged stares and then looked over their shoulders, noticing the little audience they’d gathered; the rest of the Hellfire Club, who knew Eddie wasn’t lying about having a girlfriend "And, Eddie," You said looking at Eddie "Give Mike a ride home after you guys are done" You said as he chuckled and looked at you.
"What?" Eddie asked with a puzzled chuckle.
"Be a good boyfriend and give my little brother a ride" You said caressing his cheek with your hand. "Would you do that for me?" You said pouting at Eddie.
"Oh this is your revenge, isn't it?" Eddie said quitting as you giggled.
"Yes" You replied and leaned forward kissing his forehead.
"Oh, shit, no! I was going to ask you if you could give me a ride back home!" Dustin whined, knowing Eddie would not give him a ride back home.
"Of course, Dustin. I can give you a ride!" You said looking at Dustin and smiling.
"Oh come on!" Eddie complained "Your evil, Wheeler" You looked at your boyfriend, raising an eyebrow, feigning a naive look.
"Am l?" You asked.
"You're so gonna pay" He murmured, giving your hips a slight squeeze.
"Me? You're the one who set up this! If anything, you owe me, Munson" You said with a grin.
After exchanging playful, yet defiant stares and a little bit of bickering, you left going to your parents house, leaving the guys to finally play Dungeons and Dragons. And, as the afternoon got wasted away, Eddie could easily go into his Dungeon Master persona, and guide and narrate the guys through their adventure, however, Mike had a harder time concentrating. A million questions flooded his mind and was eager to know the answers to them all. He knew asking Eddie mid game would only end in Eddie telling him to focus and to take the campaign seriously, and he knew better than to provoke Eddie, specially during a campaign.
And finally, when the time came to go back home, the awkward tension was palpable in Eddie’s van. Neither of them wanted to be in that situation. It was haunting and asphyxiating. But somehow, Mike felt this impending need to ask, and get at least one answer to at least one of the many questions that had been haunting him.
“So, uh…you’ve been dating my sister since she graduated?” Mike asked awkwardly, he noticed the way Eddie's hands gripped the steering wheel.
“Are we really going to have this conversation?” Eddie hissed.
“I mean, knowing my sister, I’m pretty sure this is why she asked you to bring me home”
Eddie sighed deeply, Mike's words circling his mind, and thinking about it.
“Well. Yeah, you’re right. This does sound like something she’d do…” Eddie said defeated, “And yes, we’ve been dating for two years now…”
“That’s a long time…”
“Yes it is,”
“And uh,” Mike said biting the inside of his cheek “Do you…love her?” Eddie snickered sarcastically.
“You think I’d be enduring along distance relationship if I didn’t?” He replied bitterly and gave Mike a quick glare.
“I’m just asking” Mike stiffened and shrugged.
“Yes, man. I love her,” Eddie added. “She’s…perfect. She’s smart, and talented. She likes the same music as me, she never judged me nor let my reputation get in the way of our friendship back when she was in high school…you know, she got along with the popular kids, and she was still friends with me, and god,” Eddie sighed “She plays D&D too. Seriously, the girl of my dreams…” His voice softened.
Mike wondered if he'd ever heard Eddie talk in such a sincere way. Sure, Eddie wasn't scared to speak his mind, but he'd never heard Eddie talk in such a soft voice. Even when he talked about things he liked, he kept his cheeky arrogant tone. Not this time. His voice softened, and sounded almost dreamy.
"Oh, I didn’t know that…" Mike whispered, not sure what to reply.
"If you’re worried that I might hurt her or whatever, don’t," Eddie said glancing quickly at Mike "She seriously means so much to me, I’d never do anything to hurt her" He said, that sincere soft voice remaining.
Mike nodded and looked back at the windshield, looking into the road as he still had several questions circling his mind.
"I know it's…none of my business but…can I ask why are you guys keeping your relationship a secret?" Mike asked, not sure how Eddie would react to his question.
"Because I asked her to," Eddie said with a flat voice, eyes glued to the road as he took a turn, getting close to Mike's place "I know your parents won’t be exactly accepting of their daughter dating someone like me, and I don’t want to put her in a difficult position…" Eddie explained.
Mike thought about it. And while, perhaps, their mom could warm up to Eddie, their dad would most likely disapprove. His father already told Mike on a daily basis to stop wasting his time with D&D. He also complained to you about the kind of music you listened to. If he were to meet Eddie, it would definitely start an argument with you.
"Her friends in Indianapolis know we're dating…" Eddie added, "So it’s not entirely a secret. I actually know her friends from college. When she can’t come here to Hawkins I drive to Indianapolis to see her…" Eddie explained.
"Oh, wow…Eddie that’s cool. I mean, that you go to her when she can’t come here…I’m sure it means a lot to her…"
"Yeah?" Eddie said parking outside your parents' house and looking at Mike. "Well, I'd do anything for her"
"Yeah, that's very cool of you…" Mike replied awkwardly "Well, thanks for the ride, Eddie…And, I think it’s cool that you’re dating my sister, I always saw my sister acting all cheesy and in love but she never talked about her boyfriend, she only said he was the best that has happened to her…" Eddie chuckled.
"Really?"
"Yeah, but don’t tell her. She’ll know I told you and will kick my ass" Mike whined, making Eddie laugh out loud.
"Oh, I’m so sorry Wheeler, but I cannot keep that promise in particular…" He teased looking at Mike.
"Oh man," Mike chuckled softly looking away.
"Off you go, kid. I guess I’ll wait for your sister to come back from driving Henderson home,"
"What if my parents see you?" Eddie chuckled looking at Mike’s stern face.
"They never do," Eddie’s arrogant tone came back "I’ve snuck into your sister’s room countless times before and no one has ever noticed"
"You what?" Mike snapped.
"See? Not even you’ve noticed" Eddie chuckled victorious.
"What the hell is wrong with you guys, seriously"
“I know you’re here, Ed. I saw your van parked in the corner…” You said walking into your room noticing the open window.
Normally you’d leave it unlocked, however, not open. At least not when you’d leave the house. And after returning from giving Dustin a ride and chatting with him about the whole Eddie situation, finding your window open and Mike already home, and a very familiar van parked in the corner a few houses away from yours…it was all too suspicious.
"Welcome home, princess" Eddie said emerging from your closet, as he dramatically opened your closet doors.
You met his dark eyes and smiled walking towards him as you wrapped your arms around his shoulders, and he hugged you back, lifting you up. You took a deep breath, feeling the familiar scent of his cologne and cigarette smoke. He did the same thing unconsciously, taking in the smell of your shampoo and his favorite perfume of yours.
"Did you enjoy the ride with Mike?" You asked him breaking the hug.
"We had some bonding time, yes…" He replied as you gave him an approving nod, "You seriously never told anyone" Eddie added, you met his stare and shrugged.
"You told me not to, and of course I was going to keep my promise to you" You said smiling softly at him.
Over the course of your friendship, Eddie learned you weren’t the best at keeping secrets. Or at least to your friends and family. Two years in a row you completely ruined the surprise and always told him what you’d gotten him for his birthday before you even had the chance to hand him his present. He was sure the secret would eventually slip and you’d tell at least Nancy. But not even Nancy knew.
"Your little brother told me you made it pretty clear you had a boyfriend but never talked about him…" Eddie said walking to your bed and sitting on it as you followed him, stopping in front of him, bumping your knees against his.
"Of course he told you…" You chuckled, looking into his dark brown eyes, almost black as you brushed his cheek with your hand.
"He also said that I’m the best that has happened to you?" Eddie asked as you rolled your eyes playfully and he noticed the way your cheeks lit up. "He said, and I quote ‘She never talked about her boyfriend, but she only said he was the best that has happened to her‘ or something along those lines…"
"I-I mean, you know that already, Ed. How many times do I have to tell you that I love you more than anything for you to realize you’re the best thing to happen to me?" You said cupping his face, as you stared at him tenderly. Eddie closed his eyes slowly, humming, as you noticed a subtle blush on his cheeks.
"Hm, I love you too, sweetheart. So, so much, it’s stupid" he said, as you leaned down and kissed him sweetly "As soon as I’m out of here, I’ll catch up with you in Indianapolis, and we can forget about everything else…it’ll be just you and me, babe"
"I can’t wait, Eddie" You whispered.
"Fuck, me neither. I am seriously madly in love with you" He said as he pulled you closer, making you straddle him.
"Good. As you should" You replied with a cheeky grin and kissed him again.

Polyamory Is Queer
Tumblr media
So a post on twitter happened where a pansexual person was saying Polyamory was queer and that he wanted people to include Polyamory in their pride merch was getting massively dunked on on twitter. nearly 1000 people at the time of me starting to write this had decided they should tell this person to die, to say he was a fed, that polyamarous people weren't oppressed in any way, that the oppression they have is deserved, etc. That alone to me would speak to the queerness here of polyamory, getting mass harassment for dating to suggest that even against our own, a pansexual guy.
Like the post is cringe in that asking for merch is cringe, like who cares, it's capitalism, I don't care about polyam flag merch, in fact, I probably wouldn't buy it if it existed in general. I would rather get merch of three girls holding hands being polyamarous and really that mostly doesn't exist and, a little sad sure, but it doesn't matter. It's not really an access of oppression.
However, I want to talk about why polyamory is queer and to knock down all the common talking points that are levied against queer people. I am not using any strawmen here I promise you I only need to look at these quote retweets to see SOOO MANY people saying the same shit I see right here.
Polyamarous People Are Not Oppressed
Polyamorous people face many different forms of oppression. There is the obviously and previously stated mass dunking on a person for daring to say they want more polyam merch and that polyam people are part of the wider queer community. This isn't a lone incident but instead I see all the time monogamous people feeling it is totally fine to dunk on polyamarous people because they met one that annoyed them or because it makes them uncomfortable or we are sluts or something. The mass harassment and open hatred are in fact a form of oppression.
However, it doesn't just result in the public opinion but the legal reality. You can be legally fired for being polyamarous basically everywhere. If you have a divorce and you are polyamarous your child will be taken away, it doesn't matter if you have proof if it being consensual it is a mark against you. If someone is sick in the polycule only one person can claim themselves as a partner to go to a hospital and see them. Polyamarous people do not have a right to be married. Polyamarous people are subjected to increased criticism about their relationships. Polyamarous people face a hyper comparison when one person lies about being polyam to abuse their girlfriend or a polyam person ends up being a bad partner it is cast on all polyamarous people.
Cis/Het Men Can't Be Queer
When people make this argument their projecting the bad boyfriend of a friend of theirs onto all polyamorous people, it's a straw man. We've decided some time ago that cis/het men can in fact be queer, I don't even like that. If I was big goddess of queerness I would vanish cis/het men from being queer but we already decided that they were. I frankly just do not care for cis/het dudes generally, some of my favorite siblings are cis/het dudes.
The A in LGBTQIA includes Asexuals and Aromantics both of whom can be Cis/Het men. The I can in fact also include cis/het men people who are intersex and assigned male at birth and id as men do exist and those people can in fact be cis/het.
Polyamarous People Aren't Historically Oppressed
The reality is if you look at the history of the world, you'll find that most cultures were not monogamous. A lot practiced Social Monogamy aka a woman was owned by a man but the man fucked around and that was normal. However, many cultures simply had no concept of monogamy, in fact there are some cultures to this day that are non monogamous without men having ownership of women. The reality is much how history is much gayer then we know and a lot more trans then we know history is also a lot more non-monogamous. Many indigenous cultures and pre Christian cultures practiced various forms of non-monogamy. These cultures were wiped out slowly with the Christian take over of the majority of the world. Ethical or not we know many powerful people took multiple wives in countries like China where the empires had ranks for their consorts as a standard practice. These are not vastly different then the kind of monogamous marriages that were common place by kings only they didn't need to kill their wives to be with other women.
The reality is that something that came natural to many be it bad or good instincts was suppressed and removed. Polyamory was wiped out from most the world because it deviated the mind set of the colonizers. Of course any place queerness has been suppressed queer non-monogamy was suppressed as well. We know that polyamarous people have had to hide their relationships especially if they deviated from the heteronormative model like like in the case of  William Moulton Marston, Elizabeth Holloway Marston, and Olive Byrne whom had to cloak their relationship be that sexual or not.
Polyamarous Are Just Sleeping Around
I don't have to go in depth here, asexual polyamarous people like me exist. I am dating many a hot lady and person and I haven't had sex in years. I don't have sex. You don't need to have sex to be polyamarous.
However, what's wrong with wanting to have sex? Why is that a grounds for oppression? Having lots of sex or no sex, it doesn't make you more or less valid. I saw someone say that polyamarous people deserve to have their kids taken away because their sleeping around.
Does a single monogamous mom deserve to have her kids taken away if she sleeps around when her kids are with their dad? What about a dad? Like sleeping around is something most monogamous allosexuals do. Be that cheating or being chronically single and going on hook up apps for sex. The second you start dating your supposed to swear away your libido towards others forever until you break up.
If that's your form of chastity play with your partner, I am not here to stop you. However, consenting partners deciding they are good with each other fucking other people isn't wrong.
Polyamory is Oppressing Women
Where in the terfy world have I heard people claiming someone else's private lives are actually just oppressing cis women. Can cis/het dudes say "Hey girl, I'm polyamarous so it wasn't cheating when I fucked your best friend" sure they can but that was still cheating. People don't even time to understand Non-monogamy to know that the vast majority of polyam people would say that it is cheating to have sex with another person without informing your partner or agreeing in advance you both can sleep with anyone you want.
Again, I don't give a shit about cis/het dudes, send them to the sun, I don't care but here they are used as a hypnotical device to attack other queer people. The OP who was getting harassed on mass was Pansexual and most everyone I have seen say Polyamory is queer has been some form of queer person. I don't know if you know this but cis/het dudes do not want to be queer, they don't want to be counted among the homosexuals on account that many of them are homophobic and transphobic.
This simply willingly ignores that many women are polyamarous. If you look at many poly groups you'll see lots of women there looking to date men and women. If you go on dating apps like her you'll see lots of polyamarous women. If you go to one trans women's discord server you'll see lots of polyamarous women there. You can see polyamarous lesbians
Polyamory Is Oppressive
Typically they form at some form of Polygamy and go like, see, polyamory is oppressive and you all act like your better then us! This utterly ignores that to this day monogamy has not unpacked it's roots as a system of ownership. The history of dating for love is actually ridiculously small in the white world. Monogamy was just one of several systems of women being sold to men by the men in their lives. One that took root and was forced on many many many people's who did not practice this form of oppression or oppressing women at all until Christians came to their land.
Polyamory can be unethical as can many other forms of non-monogamy and some are rooted in systems of ownership just like monogamy is rooted in that. The reality is our hearts are not ethical anyway, we can't expect love to be perfect and utterly unproblematic but also there are forms of polyamory that are ethical.
Polyamory Is Just A Choice
I saved this one for last because this one is feelings based where the others have provable facts this one people can simply chose to believe me or not. However, I want to talk about wider queer theory for a second to really practically engage this idea. While the popular narrative is that being queer is not a choice some queer theorists have pushed back on this idea. The main queer counter arguments are We Chose Our Own Actions and If It Was A Choice I'd Chose It.
We Chose Own Actions poses us with the idea that while our internal feelings might not be a choice we chose how we act on our choices and queerness is choosing to express and live outside of what we are told. That queerness itself is the choice of acting against the cishetero systems of control. So it doesn't matter if a Republican law maker is secretly gay, he wouldn't be queer because queerness in this model is a choice, it's an identity we chose.
Then the If It Was A Choice It Chose It model says, so what if it was a choice. It choses to simply ignore internal feelings and say it doesn't matter why I want to kiss other women, the fact I chose to do it is consensually with other women who chose to kiss women in itself is valid and worthy of respect. That there is nothing shameful about being queer and therefore if they could chose to be queer that is enough to be respected. This simply says being gay is great, I like being gay, I'd pick it every time and you can't stop me and I will be respected.
We went over these models to say that even if you end up disagreeing with me, that being non-mongamous is in fact not a choice to you that that doesn't necessarily excluded it from being queer and that doesn't mean that Polyamarous people don't deserve respect or rights.
However, to me being polyamarous is core to who I am. It is not a choice for me but I would chose it every time. I would never want to get rid of my 15 year relationship with my Fiancé or my 8 year relationship with my girlfriends in Scotland or any other relationship I'm a part of. To me it's natural to want to be with other people, to feel romantic feelings and it feels gross to me to suggest that I should suppress those feelings or if I did that it would be morally better.
I was in high school when I started dating my Fiancé, even then Freshmen year of high school I told them, "Hey if you wanna date other people, that's okay". At the time, It was mostly because we lived an "unbareable" thirty minutes away from one another, sometimes an hour in traffic. "Worlds away" and unable to drive I really wanted them to be able to be loved and have everything they wanted in a relationship. They did not act on that for years and years. Many years later we talk about polyamory more seriously, I had feelings for my now 8 year long distance relationship GFs. We had all been friends, they helped me come out as trans, we got on so perfectly, and there was a guy friend of ours that they had been kinda attracted to and wanted to try to feel things out with. We agreed that we would explore our feelings and stuff.
From there we've been actively identifying as polyamorous, there was bumps in the road, I was not a perfect girlfriend and I misunderstood how Polyamory worked like thinking we all had to want to date each other and realizing that was not the case. It felt right to be polyam and it kept feeling right as we met people, had feelings and let our relationships evolve to wherever they went naturally, disclosing with each other obviously but we love talking about crushes and dates and stuff together. We've never dated the same person and we probably never will but we love each other and love seeing each other be loved. This is core to who I am, my Fiancé is my soul mate, but my soul isn't small, it's big and it has other soul mates and sweet loves.
It what comes natural to me and it would feel as bad to me to stop being polyamorous as to go back into the closet about being asexual, trans or being a lesbian. To me it's the part of my identity that is probably most in practice in that I talk to my GFs every single day, I live with my Fiancé, their actively part of my life every single day and I am open to new feelings every single day. Even with a recent break up with one of my Girlfriend's of nearly two years I not once wished I was monogamous, my heart was in pain but I still loved being polyam.
I don't have anything else to say on this topic really, I don't care if I get dunked on, to me, this is who I am. I don't particularly love "the polyam community" as a wider hole, I am in my own lesbian niche. Still, I think even the unfortunately straight among us deserve to have the right to love who they love. Nothing anyone stays is gonna get me to suddenly see my love as selfish or something.
[If you want more polyamorous sapphic art to exist in the world maybe consider throwing me a few bucks on Patreon or Ko-fi so I can afford to make more.]

Hello hello ~~
Through wen-kexing-apologist's recent post about The Birdcage (which seems to come from your syllabus for baby gays) I got to the original series of reblogs which resulted in said syllabus. I read most of it (not everything because Real Life has my time hostage), and as someone who has seen her fare share of queer media I have now a pretty long to watch list.
As you wrote about how you enjoyed the romance of queer media I have a question.
Recently I have come across a Netflix movie trailer called Love at First Sight. With such a basic trope as a name I checked it out hoping the title to be misleading and to see something surprising in the plot. The disappointment I felt when by the end of it I realized it was exactly what the title sold: the most basic boy meets girl and they have to look for each other throughout the whole movie.
One of the things I really appeciate about queer media (and mainly BL probably) is the possibility to explore different kinds of romances and emotions. Both positive and negative. From Not Me to Heartsopper to Double Mints. I feel that being "out of the norm" they explore such emotions and situations in a more interesting and relatable way (and add to that that I, as a woman, cannot stand women characters making a 360º personality change once they fall in love)
So here's my question: what unusal or out of the ordinary romances would you like to see more of in BLs/queer shows/etc?
I personally would like romances with disabled characters to be more explored (I'm really looking forward to Last Twilight) or polyamory. Also more GL.
I admit this might be a very biased ask, it comes 100% from my subjective view, and I have yet to watch most of the movies in your syllabus for Baby Gays.
Anyway, I hope you have a great day and that this long ask won't bother you ❤
Well look at this ask! Let me get into this!
The Syllabus is on a Google Doc
First, I sincerely appreciate you watching me and @shortpplfedup go back and forth about stuff. For yours and others' convenience, I did put the Queer Cinema Syllabus in a Google Doc for @wen-kexing-apologist
Some Recommendations
If you're looking for a film with a disabled protagonist and also a bit about women, I would recommend checking out Margarita With a Straw (2014), Sleep With Me (2022) (I watched on Gaga), or if you're willing to tolerate hets Isa Pa With Feelings (2019) (currently on Netflix) or Silent (2022) (Viki)
If you're interested in more polyamory, I genuinely think that Quaranthings Season 2 (2021) does some really fascinating stuff worth checking out. We had complicated feelings about Me, My Husband, and My Husband's Boyfriend (2023), but I liked it.
What do I want though?
I think this is a harder question for me to answer than I was expecting. I see myself as a guest when I'm watching a lot of content from Southeast Asia. I will voice my opinion on what I like and don't like, what I'm taking from these shows, and how they're affecting me. However, I don't really consider myself the target audience. I watch the shows as legally as possible and help generate engagement, but the "interfans" they care about are the English-speaking Asians in their region, not really me I feel like.
So when I think about what I want, I don't feel a yearning for any of the BL-producing Asian countries' film industries to make it for me.
I want to see the shit I like in the West get made. I want to see Black queer people presented complexly (Here is my regular plug for For The Boys). I'm a fat black gay nerd. The last time I saw a fat black gay nerd that I liked in an American production was Fire Island (2022).
I'm a 33-year Star Trek fan who still thinks we need more GAYS IN SPACE. I'd like to see more productions like Sort Of (2021- ) where complex queer friend and social groups navigate just existing in the world and finding love and meaning. I'd like to see less of reboots of classic shows like Queer as Folk be about a horrifying mass death event in the city I live in and the spaces I frequent (I refuse to link to it).
I want to see TJ Klune's, Ginn Hale's, or Lynn Flewelling's works adapted to series. I would like to see more wide release queer shit in the West not be overwhelmingly about fit, attractive, young white guys.
I want distribution for queer stories to not always have to go through four years of distribution hell because of the film festival circuit.
I want the West to try to make BL! I don't care if it feels cheap on the front end. I just wish more of us would be willing to throw support behind web shows. We did it for Awkward Black Girl! We can do it again!
This is turning into rambling, so I'll say that I don't necessarily have strong feelings about what I absolutely need to see. I like connecting with the specific humanity of stories, especially if they're about queer people. I didn't know I needed Moonlight (2016) until I saw it. I didn't know I needed Make the Yuletide Gay (2009) or Black Sails (2014-2017) until I watched them.
I just want more people with ideas to get a chance to turn them into something cool for us.
What about the rest of you? Please tag me if you have things you're hoping for.

just can't stop thinking abt child gn!reader who is found in a treasure chest (kind of like Uta but she doesn't exist here-) with protective dad!shanks. Shanks leaves them on the island with Luffy where they befriend the asl bros. How do you think Shanks reacts to the news that his kid, who didn't really want to be apart of Luffy's pirate crew, is now apart of the straw hat pirates?
I reckon Shanks wouldn’t be too surprise, after all if they din’t leave with Ace it was only normal that they will ultimately leave with their youngest brother, I don’t think Shank would have gone on believing they would have remain on Foosha village alone
I think he would find out the same way he found out about luffy. Wether it was on their own wanted poster or on the backround of luffy’s just like ussop. Mihawk remembered how Shanks often talked about these two kids so when he caught wind of the wanted poster he brought it to shanks. Proud dad moment but also worried that moment, also worried uncle moment. But het again, Shanks was willing to bet on Luffy to the point that he sacrificed his arm so I think that at the end of the day he is comforted by knowing they are in safe hands.

“I'd love Harry in a crop top on stage, but don't give me crop top and him snogging a PR horny Z-list model afterwards. It might have worked for Prince, but we're in much different times now.”
Can you please ellaborate the last sentence? I get what you mean with the previous one because I got to used to the situation that it’s always push and pull with him being as openly gay as possible but then pull back with stunts so gp/het harries actually don’t start to think he’s gay. But do you think Prince was queer but never came out? I never paid attention to him but same as Bowie, both of them had an image of being queer+ their androgynous style but at least Bowie got married with model with he lived until he died.
Hi, anon!
Sure! Prince was a complicated man. This is a good article to get an overview. Regardless of how Prince identified, he took advantage of queer culture to provoke and get attention. What he did was new and boundary-breaking at the time, so he got loads of attention. He then made it his image and brand. The queers loved it at the time because they felt seen, validated and he helped normalise queerness. It was progress. At the same time, he had a bunch of girlfriends, groupies and never actually showed any interest in men. People also claimed he was homophobic. At the very least not lqbtq+ supportive. So from my point of view he was either severely homosexually repressed or he was straight and appropriated queer culture.
Either way, nobody would get away with appropriating queer culture to the extent Prince did today, while at the same time being so overtly heterosexual. Queers want real representation and not someone who's faking it to get attention and make money off of them. They'll feel used. Times have changed. There are out queer artist now who you can support and look up to. Queers get real representation and attention in the mainstream media. Queers don't need to grasp at straws anymore and support straight people who try to fool them into thinking they're getting a role model and take advantage of them.
So what i mean is that Prince got away with it because he had queer support even though he projected straight and maybe even was homophobic. Because he broke boundaries. Someone who is projecting queer on stage and straight in private (like H is) would not have queer support today. It wouldn't break any boundaries. It would rather be a set back. So H might even be cancelled or at least become a persona non grata in social media discourse. Like the article states, today Prince would be accused of appropriating a queer aesthetic. I think there is a chance H might meet that fate. People are already noticing the discrepancy between H on stage performing and H off stage, and 11.6k mill aren’t very happy about it...

When "Karen" is appropriated by "Old school" fanboys
More and more I'm noticing "Karen" being used agaisnt women with strong opinions. Not the racist white woman who calls the cops on a black man, but on women who know their comic book lore.
A few years ago I had joined a Sandman discussion group on Facebook (before I created one of my own). And some male fans started to call me Karen. I was even responded to with the "Triggered" meme when I explained something that was misunderstood by the OP on a post. What was my crime? Casually correcting a misunderstanding in the story. At one point someone asked what the "Night Walkers" were that Hob Gadling off-handedly mentioned about killing Jack Constantine in the Men of Good Fortune story. I said, they were likely vampires. The kindest response I got was "Amanda knows her stuff. Too bad she's a know-it-all-b-tch." I didn't actually leave that group until a post I made about a song that reminded me of Cain and the House of Mystery was taken down for being "off topic." I literally posted it because it reminded me of Cain and the House of Mystery as depicted in The Sandman. But for me that was the last straw. Now, the season (possibly series) finale of Loki was a few days ago. And without spoiling how it ends I've seen many comments to the effect of "So what? It's a multiverse. That means there are other Lokis." I find this reaction very telling because it suggests to me that for these people the concept of the multiverse isn't some long established comicbook lore or scientific probability in theoretical physics. For them it's new and it means "This character has a spare version ready to go." The multiverse is not a new idea. Even the 1966 soap opera Dark Shadows addressed it but called it "Parallel Time" instead of alternate timeline or alternate universe. But it was explained the exact same way. I finally reacted with "Why does it matter if it's a multiverse? That still happened to the version of Loki the fans got attached to." And i explained that reacting that way to the idea of the multiverse is kind of a tell that you aren't a long-term fan of these stories. This earned a (typically male, it's almost never a woman) fan calling me a "Karen." And it's not just me. I've seen this happen a LOT to women who are into fantasy / scifi / horror / comics who know their lore. If they correct someone or explain something, there's always some cis het male fan ready to shoot them down and silence them with the shaming of calling them "Karen." There are certain people now using "Karen" as a means to silence women in traditionally male dominated fandom circles and I am very frustrated when I witness it. I can deal with it when it's done to me but when I see it to excited fan girls who suddenly became meek and ashamed and less talkative about the thing they like, that's when it bothers me.

You say "if you know you know" in the same way antisemites say "if you know you know" and "noticing"
okay so we’re really grasping at straws today
If you don’t know it’s in reference to the fact het women call themselves “regular” or “normal” women (my url) then you don’t know and that’s fine
Its also just the title of my blog, I don’t say it lmao, it’s not like I’m running around tagging all my responses with it or making posts about it - sometimes you need to use a smidge of critical thinking
All this to say as someone living in a Germany, having seen the horrors of the holocaust, I cannot believe I actually have to dispel this but no I am not an antisemite and believe not only in the holocaust but every other horrible, terrible bigoted thing that happened to the Jewish people in Europe as elsewhere throughout history and think that anyone who supports those actions or the people committing them are horrendous individuals. Antisemitism is a huge problem in the world that has everything to do with ethnic and religious prejudice but not some random lesbian running a vaguely feminist-leaning blog.

aren't fans kinda doing exactly what that article was talking about now to jensen? like we've literally been down this road before, shouldn't we kind of all know better than to project onto these dudes? especially when he has never labeled himself as queer and has been called het by his friends, + referred to the queer community as "that community" -- idk, it just seems like people setting themselves AND jensen up unnecessarily
i have absolutely no idea why i of all people have been by some force of god, nature, or reason, deemed the best and most qualified person to answer this question but ill roll with it
i don’t really give a shit. and to what degree it can be considered projection when these guys make a Living putting themselves in Situations. eh. but in regards to “that community” if jackles is homophobic still he does a GREAT job of hiding it because he gave me a genuine smile when i told him my name is dean and patted me on the back in a one of the guys way. so really eh. sparkle on jackles it’s wednesday don’t forget to be yourself. keeps talking anyway
first of all i think that everyone should get to do whatever they want forever until the end of time. second of all i think that to some extent by being not only an actor but actively engaged with your fandom you open the door to people being parasocial freaks about you. if you have boundaries, you’re a multimillionaire who goes to golf opens in hawaii who owns a half million dollar stove you can tell people they’re making you uncomfy. it’s also the nature of the acting celebrity experience to be host to speculation about who you’re with. it’s no one’s business but yours, and i think people waste a lot of time infighting about how much thirsting or speculation is allowed. if you don’t like shipping real people then don’t be around people who do and if you do then there’s this wonderful thing called ao3 i think you’re gonna enjoy.
let’s also acknowledge that this is welcoming discourse through a fucking buzzfeed article. we’re not exactly scholars here. be serious
in terms of homophobic jackles allegations, people have been DYING to know if that man is queer since his twink days. not for nothin but literally back to his soap times he’s mentioned being comfortable with the idea of playing a gay character. however he is also a cis white man from texas with a father who thinks drinking out of straws is gay. of course he’s a little homophobic, that’s what cyberbullying is for. but also people can grow and change and i really don’t think that proves things one way or another as internalized homophobia exists AND a shift in language is good and ideal regardless. so if he wants to platonically kiss his male bestie and get stage boners from him and call him his and his wife’s boyfriend and *gestures to the manifesto* then that’s literally his prerogative. and if he thinks he’s doing some bruce springsteen clarence clemons shit then a) how dare he and b) he needs to be put down c) you will NEVER be them. you work for the cw
ultimately, i really don’t mind regardless. if he’s straight congrats. if the j2 love tunnel beard wife theory is correct what the actual fuck but congrats to you guys i guess. if some jenmisheel throuple situation is happening congrats. but i don’t waste time overthinking the ethics of behavior that people online engage in. i personally believe that no one should be forced or pushed to disclose their identity if they don’t want to. but if something ever is said in any given manner i know that im going to have a WONDERFUL time on the internet about it
this is not a comprehensive Statement in any way, just some current thoughts. it’s past midnight and i’m not bothering to proofread
