Herbert and Dan, but they have an entire child. Whether via adoption or they made one, they have a kid now. How do you think that goes?

I kind of touch on this in my fic, The Couple Down the Street, which features Herbert accidentally acquiring a fan/potential apprentice in a 6-year-old girl. Obviously, I think they'd be terrible parents lol, and the only way that kid is making it out with any kind of sanity attached is if they're just as messed up as Herbert and Dan are.

Specifically with Piper (mentioned 6-year-old), it's fun to imagine her and Herbert bonding way more than she ever would with Dan. I personally think it's quite funny to imagine Dan as the one who always wondered about kids and reminiscences on a path not taken in which he could be a doting father. However, the moment a child actually shows up he's instantly cold on the idea. He liked fatherhood in theory but when there's an actual kid in his house he's like...I don't like this. I prefer it just being me and Herbert, actually.

And then it's Herbert who ends up taking the more active role, much to his own annoyance.
