Admittedly I don’t know much about aem because ae dropped today but the Magic just got Vernon Shotwell! A(nother) former Thieves player who was lored to be exes with Stu Trololol (the reason Vernon got into blaseball in the first place). However Stu (former Thieves player) is ALSO now on the Magic and we as a team are Really into making our blorbos talk about their feelings over the campfire so many people are very 👀 about this new dynamic. Sorry if this makes no sense I was just in the car for a Very long time and i think my brain is scrambled. Also the Magic might be dropping our landlocked policy? Which is exciting

Oh that makes sense!!!!! Sometimes you and your ex and stuck on the same team for an indefinite amount of time and sometimes you are subtly urged by the forest to actually talk about what happened instead of ignoring it like you’ve been doing for the past however long. And then. You kiss and it’s nice but you know it’s wrong.

i chose these characters because

i wanted all contestants to be known by the fanbase, at least a little bit. so more "unpopular" characters that may be more fight-able have been left out

have at least a bit of a "heel" personality, on twitter, in the wiki, or in a fanfic i have read

have traits that could make them unlikable aside from being a heel

i just wanted to see if anyone would willingly fight them

none of the characters match all of this criteria but they all match at least 1 (i tried to get them all be somewhat known, but im sure people are going to look at a couple of these and go "who?")

what are your thoughts on stu trololol? (and tilly <33 if u want)

I think that Stu and Axel’s relationship is something so interesting and also so tragic... like your older brother that you grew up with who you LOVED and ADMIRED and you have nothing but fond memories with him and he just becomes so consumed with blaseball and like his entire life’s goal is to BECOME a car... and I think in many ways she would see that as a betrayal of HER and wanting to get rid of what makes him HUMAN and his past to get away from the everything about blaseball and she thinks that that’s his way of leaving her behind. He was just a regular guy! He liked beer! He liked playing blaseball! And then he sort of just... lost it in those early seasons and when he went in for surgery to install the arm cannon I don’t think she visited him in the hospital because she was just ANGRY. I think she probably regrets that now that she’s a lot older and she’s been through so much but like... she definitely blames the game for taking her brother from her. They never had a great relationship but they CARED about each other because NO ONE ELSE DID and that’s all that mattered to them and they weren’t as nice to each other as they should’ve been, but they showed up when it counted and that’s what really mattered. When she was mad at the world and questioning and so lost in her own feelings that she felt like there was no end the person who was ALWAYS there for her was Axel. He was the first person she came out to! And he took it SO well and he always supported her and he even came out to her after she did it and that’s a moment she holds close to her heart.

When Tillman shows up on the thieves he reminds her SO much of herself, but also of Axel and everything that their relationship wasn’t. She sees how much he fucking hates himself and how he’s just physically incapable of processing his emotions and how he deflects by just being an ass and she recognizes how hes feeling because SHE remembers being like that when she was in high school and scared and alone, but she had Axel to help her when he decided to be a good brother and so she decides that it’s finally her turn. She’s gonna force that boy to start thinking about the consequences of his actions or so fucking help her. And it’s hard at first! She has to tell him a lot of hard truths! And they fight a lot, but Tillman always knows that she’s right at the end of the day and he doesn’t always listen but her words do just live in his head all the time and she KNOWS that and that’s a win for her. Deep down she loves the kid, and she knows she’s hard on him but she just doesn’t want him to make the same mistakes she did and get lost in that downward spiral of hatred and feeling the need to be awful to just feel ANYTHING when you get attention. When she takes him to pride for the first time after finally getting him to admit he’s gay, she’s reminded of her first pride with Axel, and she smiles.

i got tagged to do a thing: "recommend 3 of your fics: your most popular and 2 hidden gems"

okay most popular (by a decent amount) is selenography, a mapping of a moon and that which it lights which makes me very happy tbh?? for a couple reasons like i know a lot of the time in blb your fics with the most hits tend to be older and not necessarily stuff you’re as proud of and i was also really nervous to put it out for a handful of reasons (making an irm for a team that’s not mine, antisemitism, ect) luckily i’ve only heard positive things (at least to my face) and have in fact heard that it resonated with people a lot, which means more than i can say. so if you enjoy long character studies, lots of nuance, unconventional formats, or exploring what Fans might look like in-universe, this fic (and it’s sequels) might be for you!

okay hidden gems:

icarus to your certainty is a very old 12x100 i did about edric tosser, morrow doyle, and stu trololol in feb of last year, and even though it’s ancient it’s still one of my faves i’ve done?? definitely some of my characterization and stuff has changed since then but i still really love it. if you like stuff that’s short and sweet and tinged with bittersweet nostalgia, you might like this one!

and then cards fall where they may is a twine anthology i did back in the spring, featuring three stories about morrow doyle, peanutiel duffy, and gerund pantheocide respectfully. I think it’s my most visually effective thing i’ve put out by far and has a lot of writing i’m still very proud of. if you like twines, text combined with visual effects to further story, or big moments in peoples lives, this might be your fic!!

🎸 Garages Redecorate the Choux/Shoe Thieves Conduct Legitimate Train Inspection 🚂

Yesterday, the Garages' train was undergoing a legitimate train inspection by bonafide train inspectors. As kind and thoughtful league-mates, we had the Garages over for some snacks and pizza. The perfectly legitimate inspection uncovered some glaring safety errors and absolutely no thefts occured. The Garages kindly took it upon themselves to Redecorate. While you are there, say hi to Jimi, our chat dog, who definitely never lived on the Garages' train, must have been a different dog of the same name.
