Oh Oh Oh! You know what I wanna see?
Suicidal Whumpees
(This has nothing to do with my own issues shut up)
Particularly, a Defiant Suicidal Whumpee
A Whumpee who gets captured, who gets beaten black and blue, tortured with everything Whumper can throw at them, but still spits in their face at the end of the session
A Whumpee who taunts and mocks their captors at every turn, regardless of how much worse it makes things for themself
A Whumpee who acts as the biggest thorn in Whumper’s side because they won’t back down, they won’t submit, they won’t just give up like Whumper wants
A Whumpee who does all of this because they don’t care, who, when threatened with death, looks Whumper dead in the eye and says “bring it”, who’ll get the barrel of a gun pointed at their head and just lean forwards and tell Whumper to pull the trigger with a smile on their face
A Whumpee who takes everything Whumper does to hurt them and still throws insults back at them, because deep down they’re hoping if they piss Whumper off enough, if they push them too far, Whumper might actually kill them and it will all end
A Defiant Whumpee who spits in Whumper’s face and prays that this time it’ll finally be the straw the broke the camels back and they’ll be free

Febuwhump Day 6: "You lied to me"
Content warning: hospital whump, (arguably) bad caretaker
“You lied to me.”
Those were the words Caretaker was greeted with when they entered Whumpee’s hospital room. They looked small and sickly in their bed, medical equipment seeming to engulf their thin frame. A sickly blush covered their face, looking almost like a rash on irritated skin. Their eyes were still glassy, but far more alert than when Caretaker had last seen them.
Caretaker hadn’t expected them to be awake yet. Let alone sitting upright in bed. Let alone glaring at Caretaker with so much venom that they nearly took a step back in shock.
:”Baby, what–”
“You said you’d never force me to do anything I didn’t want to do. You lied.”
“I–,” the denial died in Caretaker’s throat before it formed. Whumpee was right, technically. Caretaker had known they would refuse to go to the doctor. The only reason they’d gone before was because they’d been unconscious, and even then they’d demanded to be released as soon as possible. They would never willingly decide to go to the hospital.
Caretaker knew all that. And so when Whumpee, already struggling to recover from what they’d endured under Whumper, had fallen ill, Caretaker knew they’d never agree to see a doctor.
And so Caretaker hadn’t bothered asking.
It’d been easy to slip something into their food. They usually would’ve noticed it instantly, but illness had dulled their sharp mind and left them half delirious with fever. It’d been easy to bundle their limp, far too light body in a blanket and tuck them into the car. It’d been easy to ignore the look of betrayal in their half lidded eyes, and pretend their slurred objections were just incoherent mumblings.
Some part of them had hoped Whumpee wouldn’t remember it.
“I had no choice,” they said instead.
“You had no choice?” Whumpee laughed, humorless and unpleasant. “You drugged me and dragged me to the hospital. Who forced you to do that?”
“I had to, Whumpee. You weren’t getting better. You were sick, and injuries from–...from before–,” Caretaker hesitated, stuttering.
Whumpee did not. “From Whumper? You can say it. I’m not going to fall apart.”
Caretaker nodded, swallowing thickly. “You were already hurt, your body couldn’t handle illness alongside that. You may not remember but–,” the memory of the coughing fits that left Whumpee struggling to stay upright, the unfocused and cloudy eyes staring dully at nothing, the ever rising number on the thermometer, flashed through Caretaker’s mind. “--it was bad. I was worried you’d die. I just wanted to help you, and I knew you wouldn’t let me.”
“So it’s my fault now?,” Bitterness dripped from every word Whumpee spoke. They tried to lift themselves into a more upright position, arms shaking from the effort, and Caretaker had to resist the urge to rush over and help them. “It’s my fault I don’t get to make decisions for myself anymore?”
“I never said that.”
“You think you just have a right. Because you ‘care about me’, you have the right to ignore every single thing I want. Because you’re smarter, because you know better.”
“Just listen–”
“No, you listen,” the words came out in a growl. Whumpee’s hands gripped at the bedsheets, shaking. “Everyone’s always–always deciding shit for me! Treating me like I can’t be trusted anymore, like I’m some little kid who can’t think for themselves! Whumper thought the exact same thing, but it’s fine when you do it, right?!”
“Stop it.” the words came out more harshly than Caretaker had expected. Whumpee flinched back as if they’d been hit, falling silent. “Don’t compare me to them. I’m trying to help you, and you’re fighting me at every turn! We just got you back, and it’s like you’re trying to leave again,” the words spilled out of Caretaker, half angry, half pleading. “I’m not going to sit by and let you hurt yourself.”
The two fell into silence. For the briefest moment, a look of fear flash over Whumpee’s face. They shrank back, and in that instant the guilt Caretaker felt nearly sent them to their knees. Whumpee’s look of resentment returned only a moment later, but the anger that had fueled it seemed snuffed out. They wouldn’t look Caretaker in the eye.
The beeping of Whumpee’s heart monitor, insistent and far too fast, felt like a condemnation in Caretaker’s ears.
Caretaker let out a shuddering sigh, a hand coming up to rest in their hair. “I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have yelled.”
Whumpee was silent for a long moment, not turning their gaze upward. When they finally spoke, their voice was quiet, drained of energy. “Just leave.”
“Please, just let me explain–,”
“Please. Don’t make me beg.”
“I’m sorry.”
Whumpee didn’t respond. They didn’t look up when Caretaker left.

Merry Whumpmas 2023 Day 18: Fainting
TW: fainting
Caretaker eyed Whumpee worriedly as they smacked into the table for the fifth time that day. They’d been clumsier than usual, their complexion more pale, and every so often, they’d press their hand to their forehead in sudden pain. But when Caretaker asked them if they were alright, Whumpee only smiled and shook their head as if nothing was wrong.
But Caretaker knew Whumpee too well.
“Why the hell do you keep following me around?” Whumpee finally demanded. Caretaker had just carried a laundry basket into the living room, where they were sitting and reading.
Caretaker glanced up at them innocently. “Following you around?”
“Literally every time I change rooms, there you are, doing something or other in the same room! Even if I go to the bathroom, you’re waiting outside. What’s your deal?”
Dropping the laundry basket onto the ground, Caretaker plopped onto the couch and pulled out a gray shirt. “Can a simple ‘I’m worried about you’ suffice?”
“I told you: I’m fine!” Whumpee snapped. “I don’t need you fussing over me like a mother hen!”
“Are you sure…?” Caretaker questioned as they finished folding the gray shirt and set it aside. “Because you’ve been acting off all day….”
Anger and annoyance flashed on Whumpee’s face. “Fine! You know what, I have been feeling off!” They jumped to their feet, their book shoved aside. “And it’s nothing, because I’m just tired. That’s all! There, are you ha—”
A strange look crossed their face, and they staggered, hands thrown out for balance. “I…” they mumbled, eyes rollling up in their head, “I…”
Caretaker jumped up, the pair of jeans forgotten, and sprinted to them as their knees buckled underneath their weight. They barely managed to catch Whumpee before their head slammed into the hard edge of their chair.
“Whumpee?”
Caretaker carefully lowered them to the ground, trying not to panic. Sure, they’d been worried about Whumpee’s health, but they hadn’t expected anything like this! Thankfully, Whumpee was still breathing, and after a few clumsy attempts, Caretaker managed to find their pulse.
Releasing a long, slow breath, Caretaker rocked back on their heels. They couldn’t think of anything else they’d need to do for someone who’d fainted, but then again, they'd never been in this situation before now. Probably best to wait until Whumpee woke up.
If they woke up.

Whump drabbles, 10/100: savior.
“Leave it!” Caretaker covered his nose and mouth, holding onto Whumpee’s arm. The smoke was getting thicker, the hungry flames spreading rapidly on the wooden structures of the barn.
“I’m not leaving her,” Whumpee cried, blindly attempting to locate the panicked, bleating lamb.
“The place… is… collapsing!” Caretaker coughed. “If you stay you’ll die!”
“I have to find her!” Whumpee broke free from Caretaker’s grasp. “She’s a baby, Caretaker!” He ran, leaping over rubble and piles of flaming hay.
Whumpee wouldn’t leave without the animal in his arms. Caretaker sighed, and against every instinct in his body, rushed after him.

I want Caretakers who legitimately do care for their whumpees paired with whumpees who just fucking hate their caretakers for personal reasons.
Just Caretaker/Caretakers trying to make amends and care for their Whumpee/Whumpees but they are having none of it

Whumpee pushes Caretaker's hand away. Are they hiding something? What don't they want Caretaker to see? Are they stubbornly refusing help? Maybe they're scared? Does Whumpee back away from the touch like a cornered animal or do they frantically swat it away? Or maybe Whumpee knows a gentle touch would crumble their walls?
(And how does Caretaker respond to this?)

Love it when a stubborn whumpee who almost never gets sick and loves to boast it to everyone, especially when there’s cold/flu of some sort spreading around, but the truth is the second they feel even one symptom of a cold or stomachache they go out and buy every single OTC drug possible to suppress the symptoms so they can go about their day and help take care of those who are “sicker” then they are. If the symptoms overpower the medicine they just pretend to be to just be tired or make excuses or hide themselves away to maintain their reputation.

Whump prompt: A Whumpee that is too stubborn to rest even though they're really very sick. Caretaker and the rest of the team have tried everything in the past to get them to take it easy, but nothing ever works. In a lapse of judgement, Caretaker decides to humor Whumpee and let them have their way. When Whumpee inevitably overexerts themselves, they collapse into Caretaker's waiting arms, mumbling something along the lines of, "I don't feel good". The rest of the team returns from a mission to find Whumpee tucked in bed, resting. Shocked, they ask Caretaker how they managed to get Whumpee to rest, and Caretaker guiltily admits that they let Whumpee go about their day without trying to stop them. If anything, Whumpee has hopefully learned their lesson and, in the future, will take it easy when they get sick instead of pushing themselves too far.

Febuwhump Day 24: “I’m doing this because I care about you,”
Content warning: none
Villain knew the exact moment Hero snapped back into consciousness. Not because they were watching them, nor because of some particularly developed sense of hearing. No, Villain knew the exact moment Hero woke up because of the hacking, painful cough that tore through them the moment they opened their eyes.
By the time Villain had bookmarked their place and moved into their living room, Hero was gasping for air. They were clutching at their chest, blankets thrown haphazardly around their waist, tears dripping down their face as they struggled to breathe.
They looked horrible. Red faced and clammy, shaking with a constant chill despite the thick blanket Villain had thrown over them. Villain could practically see the fever wafting off of them. If there were a picture in the dictionary for the word ‘sick’, Hero’s face would be plastered there as a prime example.
It took Hero a moment to lift their gaze. When they did, their eyes widened in shock. “You—where, what–” Their eyes flicked across their surroundings at breakneck speeds, before returning to Villain with a confused glare. “Am I on your couch?!”
“It’s a sofa, but yes.”
They stared in disbelief. “Why?”
“I thought that bringing you to bed would be a tad too forward. Was I wrong?” Villain asked, voice a purr. They grinned at the way the redness on Hero’s cheeks darkened.
Hero scowled, “You're wrong for thinking I want to be on your stupid couch,” they grumbled, working to untangle themselves from the blankets. With an amount of effort Villain couldn’t help but notice, Hero lifted themselves onto unsteady legs, one hand still resting on the sofa’s arm.
They took a step. The jangling of a chain accompanied the movement.
Hero looked down, finally noticing the cuff connected to their left ankle. The other end was locked snugly around the sofa’s leg.
Hero turned to face Villain. They didn’t even look angry, simply annoyed. “Are you kidnapping me again?” they sighed.
Villain grinned. Ignoring the distrusting glare Hero sent their way, they snapped their fingers. Their abilities responded eagerly, and their once empty palm was filled.
A simple medicine cap appeared in Villain’s hand, filled to the brim with a thick, purple liquid.
Hero looked up at them like they'd grown a second head. “You brought me here to take medicine?”
“I brought you here because you dropped from the sky in a dead faint mid battle, before I so much as touched you,” There was an edge to Villain’s voice. They swallowed it, forcing their smile to remain in place. “I certainly wasn’t going to waltz up to your agency, carrying you like a princess. So I decided to take you home with me.”
Villain didn’t miss the way Hero’s eyes widened at their words. Or how their stare was filled with confusion like they had no memory of the day’s events.
Hero turned away. “It’s barely a cold. I didn’t need help.”
Didn’t need help. Yes, because someone ready to fall over in public, their allies nowhere in sight, in the middle of a fight with a villain, didn’t need help. It was ridiculous, the typical, endlessly stubborn non-logic they knew Hero for. It was usually something Villain found amusing. But looking at Hero now, the shadows under the eyes, the gauntness to their face that a simple cold could not explain, Villain felt only anger.
They couldn’t stop thinking about Hero falling. Their eyes rolling into the back of their skull, whatever retort they’d been about to make dissolving into a nonsensical slur. How they’d just dropped, falling like a bird shot from the sky.
Villain would never admit to the scream that’d torn from their lips at the sight. They didn’t want to consider how close of a call it’d been. If Villain had been just a little slower to act…
Villain pushed the thought from their mind, instead pushing the cap into Hero’s hands. Hero held it like Villain had just presented them with a dead rat.
“Oh, don’t give me that look. I’m doing this because I care about you.”
Hero sighed, “You’re doing this because you like bothering me.”
“Those two sentiments aren’t mutually exclusive,” Villain grinned. “And there’s no fun in defeating you when a cold is doing the work for me.”
Hero glared for a long moment. Finally they sighed, defeated. They lifted the cup to their lips, throwing their head back and swallowing the medicine as if it were a shot of bourbon. They returned the cup to Villain’s outstretched hand without question. “Done. Can I leave now?”
Villain took the cap back graciously, sending it back to their bathroom with a wave of their hand. “And what made you think you’d be leaving so soon?”
“But I thought–,” a sudden cough interrupted them, hacking and thick with flem. Villain almost winced at the noise. “-- I took the stupid medicine, what else do you even want?!”
They wanted Hero to avoid keeling over in their foolish goal of saving every pathetic little life in the city. “Plenty. Your downfall, the keys to the city…,” they said instead. “But that’s besides the point. You won’t be doing any more heroics for the remainder of the day. I suspect you'll be dead to the world within the hour.”
Hero's eyes bulged. “D-did you drug me?!” Their voice squeaked with indignation.
“If you consider Nyquil a drug, then yes.”
“Oh,” and just like that, their anger faded. “Then I’ll be fine, a little cough medicine isn’t going to knock me out.”
“Have you had Nyquil before?” Villain asked. ”Darling, it’s infamous, and you already look dead on your feet. I wouldn’t bet on your chances”
Hero crossed their arms, pouting like a stubborn toddler. “I’ll be fine. I'm not even tired,” Villain noted that they also sounded like a stubborn toddler. They decided not to mention either fact.
Villain sighed, hands moving to rest on their hips. “Your abuse of the word ‘fine’ aside, I’ll make you a deal.”
“I’ll make you a deal,” Hero countered, scowling. And then they sniffed, entirely ruining the impact of the expression.“You let me go, and I don’t kick your ass.”
Villain ignored them. “Stay for an hour. If you’re still awake by then, I’ll let you go.”
“I don’t have time to just sit around!” Hero groaned, pulled at the chain on their leg. The cuff was made of a soft, comfortable material, but it was sturdy. It stayed firm despite their tugging, which only encouraged them to tug harder. “I’m supposed to be on duty!”
“You’re also actively being kidnapped, as you put it. Most hostages don’t get to negotiate the terms of their stay. Be thankful.”
Hero glared, expression more of a pout than anything else. Red faced and ruffled hair, they looked as intimidating as a kitten.
Villain grinned. “But fine, if you’re so insistent on leaving, I can negotiate. Stay for forty five minutes.”
“Hell no. Twenty five.”
“Absolutely not. Thirty, and I get to pick the movie.”
Hero raised an eyebrow. “The movie?”
“Well, I’m not going to just sit here waiting for you to pass out.” Villain huffed.
Hero glared for a long moment, arms crossed. Villain could see them considering their options, stubborn pride battling against bone-deep exhaustion.
They saw the moment Hero’s exhaustion won out. They sighed, shoulders slumping, and they flopped back into their seat. “Fine. Thirty minutes and I’m out of here.”
Grinning, Villain sat themselves besides Hero, making a show of getting comfortable. They spread the blanket across both of them. Hero huffed, but didn’t move.
“I hope I get you sick.” Hero sniffled.
“I’m not exactly human, my dear; your little bug won’t touch me. Feel free to continue to hope however.”
The pair sat in near silence for a moment, the only sound the occasional hacking cough. After several minutes of consideration, Villain settled on a film. A simple, vapid romantic comedy. Utterly unremarkable and dull. The perfect film to fall asleep to.
They turned to their nemesis, finger hovering over the play button. “Any complaints?”
Hero shrugged. “Whatever. It's not like I'll be watching.”
“Because you'll be asleep, I know.”
“Because I'll be leaving.”
“Certainly. Whatever you say…” Villain’s voice dripped with condescension. Hero only huffed.
Villain flicked the movie on and snuggled into the blanket.
The film was just as unimpressive as Villain had hoped. It was just interesting enough to be vaguely entertaining, but it was clearly a film designed to be background noise. Which was perfect, of course.
Villain wasn’t paying the film any mind. What they were truly focused on was Hero. They’d tucked themselves underneath the blankets, half-curled into the covers. Their arms were crossed over their chest, expression set as if their very honor depended on them staying awake.
Hero was fighting a battle against exhaustion, and it was obvious they were losing. Within the first ten minutes, they’d already begun snuggling into the covers, pulling the material close to their trembling frame. Their eyes were barely open by the fifteen minute park. They were still sitting upright, but their head would tip forward every few minutes, eyes falling shut. They’d always jerk themselves back to wakefulness moments later. Villain didn’t miss the way they’d glance over to Villain each time it happened, expression embarrassed. Villain carefully did not meet their gaze.
Villain resisted a smile when Hero finally leaned back fully, resting their head against the sofa.
By the half hour mark, Hero had gone entirely slack. Their mouth was slightly ajar, quiet, congested snores the only noise they made. They were out like a light, just like Villain had predicted.
Slowly, carefully, Villain leaned towards them. “Time’s up darling,” Villain whispered into Hero's ear, tone thick with amusement. “Should I let you go? You seem rather comfortable.”
“Hnnn…”Hero only grumbled in response, words unintelligible. They shifted in place, and Villain froze and Hero flopped over, falling to lean heavily against their side. They tucked themselves into Villain, nose pushing itself into the crook of Villain’s neck.
They hummed sleepily, content, before falling still again.
“Oh,” Villain didn’t dare move. They could feel heat coming off Hero in waves, fever leaving their skin clammy against Villain’s. Their breath ticked against Villain’s neck. Neither feeling was particularly unpleasant.
They tried to move away, carefully shifting Hero’s body to rest against the sofa’s arm. But then Hero gave a half-conscious whine, fingers blindly gripping at Villain’s shirt. Even in their sleep they were stubborn as ever.
Villain sighed, accepting their impromptu downgrade to Hero’s cushion. They made a mental note to continue their ‘kidnapping’ for the remainder of the week.

Whumpees who would rather be tortured than ask for help.
They can handle beatings, floggings, illnesses, and other violence. They can help others. But someone helping them? Oh hell no. Never.
Whumpee is so paranoid of being seen as weak that they would rather suffer to their own negative thoughts. If they do need help, they make excuses and overwork themselves just so they don't feel shame.
Whumper takes full advantage of their fears. They ask if Whumpee needs medical assistance or mental support and they just start panicking. Whumper loves it.
Whumpee does not.

Merry Whumpmas 2023 Day 21: Infection
Week 3 of this bullshit. Enjoy.
TW: infection, swearing, passing out
Whumpee had known about the injury for a while now. They’d gotten it on their last mission, but the other team members had been worse off, so Whumpee grabbed some painkillers and bandages and stopped the bleeding themself. They’d assumed that would be the end of it. They’d been through worse; their teammates’ injuries were more serious, and no one needed to worry.
Until the wound got worse.
Whumpee had been shot in the side. Now, three days later, no amount of painkillers they took could numb the pain. When they’d changed the bandages that morning, the wound was warmer than it should have been, it was starting to swell and had turned an angry red color. Whumpee began to worry, then, but they pushed off telling anyone else. Everyone, even Caretaker, was busy helping the more injured team members recover. Whumpee could wait another day before they sought aid.
Hours after making this decision, Whumpee awoke in the middle of the night. The wound was throbbing, far worse than when it had initially been sustained. Each step they took wobbled as they went to the bathroom to check underneath the bandages. Whumpee took a long, ragged breath when they saw the extent. The flesh was streaked with dark red, it refused to close after nearly four days, and blood still welled up from the opening in their skin.
“Whumpee?”
Whumpee’s head darted to see Caretaker standing in the doorway, staring at the wound in their side. Their mouth opened and closed, trying to find the right words. “I…” they stammered, “I… you were so busy caring for everyone else… I didn’t want to bother you…”
Caretaker gingerly prodded the wound. “How long have you been hiding this from me?”
Whumpee’s face grew hot. “Um… almost four days, now.”
“Four days?!” Caretaker’s head snapped up to meet Whumpee’s gaze. Their expression was furious. “Four days, and you didn’t say anything?”
“It’s okay…” Whumpee mumbled, “I’ve been managing with painkillers—”
“Like hell you’ve been ‘managing with painkillers’,” Caretaker snapped, “This wound is infected, Whumpee! Infected! This should have been looked at on day one, not day four!”
Whumpee winced at their tone. “But I’m fine! You still have to take care of the rest, and I’m feeling okay…” they paused, reaccessing. “Okay, maybe I’m feeling a little light-headed… but I’ll be okay…”
The bathroom seemed to blur, and Whumpee suddenly found themselves lying on the floor, Caretaker kneeling over them and cursing up a storm. “You idiot!” They shouted, “You fucking idiot!”
Caretaker shouted something else, but Whumpee couldn’t make it out as darkness closed over their vision and sent them into the sweet oblivion of sleep.

Whump Prompt #1102
I have a scene in mind:
In which the friends notice your whumpee is not doing well, and decide to talk to them.
They send one friend up to carefully knock on the door to the whumpees bedroom, and it takes a moment for the whumpee to open the door. They’re pale but desperately trying to show that they’re just fine. Their slumped shoulders and hooded eyes say otherwise.
The friend is just about able to pass it off as casual conversation; “Y’know, just making sure because we- I noticed you’ve been pretty quiet.” (The friends assumed it would embarrass the whumpee less if only one person approached them)
However, their cover is blown when someone sneezes. Your whumpee peaks around the door frame to see the rest of the group (terribly) hiding down the hall to eavesdrop.
“I- I’m fine.” Your whumpee insists despite themselves, and once again hide in their room, where they aren’t seen again for a while; they don’t even answer to knocks at the door. In the end, the friends decide to just enter the room...
...where they find the whumpee fighting a fever by themselves (and losing).
